6367 board LAGS after a day... tried EVERYTHING!!!
It's kind of upsetting.. I like to leave the computer up (as it's running as a bit of a server), but it won't last more than a day...
I've done a clean XP install, yet still, after a day or so, it has a strange lock-up problem, where the CPU chugs away on simple tasks...
or, with the cpu being almost idle, when I move the mouse, nothing happens for approx 3 seconds, and then the cursor jumps 3 inches in the direction I was moving it..
There's no way to cure it.. (ending processes, etc...)
I'm running WinXP, with a Nvidia Gforce 2 32 meg card...
pc-2100 Ram, etc..
I can't update the bios either (as it's a HP machine.. and for some reason, the MSI flash program will not write to it..)
Does anybody have suggestions??? (The CPU temp sits at about 53C)

DOH! Poor quality output after 4 days trying to perfect the DVD
Hi guys
I have been trying to burn a 1hr 27min .avi file (700MB) for 4 days now. Ive tried a few ways but each time the DVD has poorer quality video than the original file.
I tried:
- opening .avi file in ImovieHD and then sharing it with iDVD (it refused to burn it, after going thru the whole rendering encoding process mind you)
- going straight to iDVD (definitely it would not burn)
- opening in QT Pro and then 'stream as DV'. which i opened in iDVD and saved as disc image with menus etc. burnt using toast titanium - probably the best result so far i think)
however the dv file was worse than an mp4 file i created using iSquint from the .avi.
- have also tried just opening the avi in toast and burning from there. worse product than the previous one.
So, any suggestions? The main problem is things look quite jagged and a bit pixelated if you know what i mean. Where as the mp4 file, which ive played using iTunes and VLC, is quite smooth (but you can see there's still a bit of quality loss when sharp movements are made by the actors.(expected).
So I've lost lots of time on this stupid thing, but I just really want to sort out how to do it well once and for all.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Is your drive under warranty?
For a start, try rendering your iDVD project to a disk image, instead of burning straight to disk.
Then, create a new Burn Folder on your desktop, and drag the VIDEO.TS file from the opened disk image to the burn folder (note that only an alias actually gets put in the folder).
Next, use Control-click on the Burn Folder to get the contextual menu, and select 'Burn Disc'. Follow the prompts, but burn at the minimum speed available.
This way, your apparent hardware problem won't mean re-rendering the iDVD file each time you try and burn a disc.
You can also keep the .img file on your hard drive as a backup of the disc.
You might also be having a problem with quality of the actual discs themselves. What brand are you using?

after spending a full day and a half trying everything imaginable, i finally found a way to get my ipad to find my new airprint capable printer. I could print from email or the cloud, but not directly from my ipad. After reading a discussion about bluetooth printers, i turned off bluetooth in settings, waited 30 seconds, and voila!! I was able to print directly from my ipad. Try it if you are having troubles

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Photoshop Lag on Windows 8 after few days after installation
Hi all guys. I need your help if anybody can help me. When I install Photoshop everything is working perfectly but after few days Photoshop starts lagging. If I unninstall it and install it again there is not any lag and It's working good but after few days the lag is back. I'm confused really because on Windows 7 there is not that lag (Just on Windows 8). I'm using Photoshop in my job pretty much and this problem confuse me.
Everything is slowing down. If I make selection it takes effect after 3-4 seconds, if I'm using brush it takes effects after 3-4 seconds too. Whole Photoshop is lagging.

So a lot of my music in iTunes is CDs and recently I was trying to download another CD to it and everything went as normal until I downloaded it to my iPod. So I know that to get everything to match you have to change the names and stuff to get the album to match the iTunes version exactly so that everything will go smoothly and I did that but when I downloaded it to my iPod I saw that it didn't name the artist. Where it should say the artist it says "Unknown Artist". I thought that it was just that particular album but than I tried downloading another album and the same thing happened. I've tried everything. I've double checked to make sure the album matches the iTunes version and it still does it. Everything is fine on the iTunes on the computer. It says the artist and stuff but than on my iPod it doesn't. The album artwork, name of the album, and name of the songs are all there but the name of the artist isn't. It never did this before and it started right after I downloaded the latest version of iTunes so since it happened twice I think it may be a glitch with either my iPod or with iTunes but I thought maybe somebody could help me? I guess it's not important but it really bothers me. Especially since it could be avoided.
Yes i've tried all of that. I've turned it all the way on and off and erased all of my music and put it back on and nothing works. And with the breaking up CDs and putting into compilation categories i have already fixed all of that stuff. It's fine it just doesn't show up in the list of artists. I can find the album in the songs category and the albums category it's just it doesn't show tha name of the artist. All of the other albums that i downloaded before i updated my itunes to th most recent update are fine. It's just the two that i downloaded afterwards. Thanks for trying though.

Restart the restore procedure and make sure you are connected to the wall power adapter and have Internet connection.
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
At the end it will ask whether you want to restore, choose iCloud backup. -
My iTunes account says "The iPod "Madison " cannot be synced. An unknown error has occured (13019)" after it has recognized all of the music and has went through every song and it said "Copying (song) to "Madison"....." and then after it has went through all of my songs (492) it says the error message. I have tried everything that is on the Apple iTunes website about it, I have created the music account under a new administrator, I've tried everything. What do i do?

Put the ipod touch in recovery mode and then restored it, setting it up as a new Ipod, rather than restoring from the backup. Given how much trouble I'd had, I suspected that the backup might be corrupted anyway.
That seems to have resolved everything completely. -
Ipod isn't recognized by itunes after trying everything
i've searched the apple website high and low to find a solution to my problem with itunes 7. i have a 60GB 5th gen and no matter how many times i have re-installed, updated and did the 5 r's my ipod will not show up in itunes after i close out and open again. i know many poeple seem to be having this problem but anybody know a SURE way to fix this or know when apple is going to release an itunes and ipod update that is worth spending my time on???
p.s. ipod update in itunes 7 just sits there scrolling but is actually not responding, let it sit and do its thing for 7 hours. any help please!!!!i ahve upgraded to the newest possible itunes hours after it came out. my ipod also has software version 1.1.2. the link you posted i have already tried. it works if i need to get my ipod to show up but the next time i start up itunes the same problem happens. ive tried everything in that article and some things of my own. ive even erased all my library saved data and uninstalled along with getting rid of all .dll files to start back at absolute scratch. also now i cant import more than 4 songs from a file at a time otherwise it wont register and wont load the songs to my library. (this made it take very long to redo my library) any other suggestions jason? <frustrated>

Message was edited by: anganaYou don't see it on the left-hand side of iTunes - you need to connect and select the iPad on the left-hand side, and then one of the tabs on the right-hand side that you use to select which content to sync to the iPad should be Photos : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
You will need to select and sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent sync remains on the iPad, not including photos in a subsequent sync is how you delete them from it. -

I've tried everything in the trouble shooting guides and everything in all the support comments here.Ive reset network, reset all phone settings, turned wifi on and off, forgotten network. Nothing works. Is there anything else it could be? The wifi is fine as all my other devices connect to it no probs. appreciate any help?

My facebook icon dissapeared from my iphone 4s immediately after I updated my face book app. I have tryed everything to restore it but nothing worked and I couldn't even download it again because in the settings it says thats its installed and when try to open it it doesn't respond. Has any one experiebced the same thing or does anyone know any idea how to fix this?

Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart. -

So, my worst fear came true,
I've droped my ihpone in the toilet and it was off. It went off before was able to pick it up.
I've tried to dry it in rice and after two days it won't turn on , the only thing that does turn on is the flash.
I want to know if i should send it to repair or if i should forget it cause it doesn't worth.
