64-bit AIX 5.2 for weblogic 8.1 SP2

Hi,
I am looking for the environment for webLogic 8.1 SP2 Installation on AIX 5.2.
Can it run on 64 bit OS? Can it run with IBM JDK 1.4.1 32 bit/64bit/both?
If it does run, is it supported by BEA?
Thanks,
Nicholas

I'm running Apache 2.0.49 and Weblogic Server 8.1 SP2
I could not connect Apache (port 80) to Weblogic server (port 7001).
I had deploy sample /SECURITY application to port 7001
I can access http://haelis01:7001/security but cannot access http://haelis01:80/security
I had done the following steps
a) copy mod_wl_20.so to $apache/modules
In httpd.conf
b) LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl_20.so
c) <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
WebLogicHost haelis01
WebLogicPort 7001
</IfModule>
Does anyone come across this problemYou should had the weblogic-handler for the /security location:
<Location /security>
SetHandler weblogic-handler
</Location>

You don't need the <Location /eMCS> block since you're proxying by mime type. Remove it and you should be ok.

    Hello,
I'd like to create a read-only user for a customer that gives him acces tothe
Console only for reading all the configuration. I don't him to modifyanything
Is there a simple way to do this ?A previous post mentioned that this is not possible in 6.1.
    Brown,
This functionality is not available in 6.1. The newest version of wls
8.1 has this feature depending on the role that the user is in.

WLS 61 SP2 is not available for public download.
you need to go to http://support.bea.com and download it from there.
Make sure that you have login

  • DTD Doctype for weblogic-ejb-jar.xml

    Hi,
I have a small question about XML DOCTYPE DEFINITION used with XML descriptors.
What should be the DOCTYPE HEADER for weblogic 6.0 sp2 & EJB 1.1?
    Currently, i'm using :
    <!DOCTYPE weblogic-ejb-jar PUBLIC '-//BEA Systems,
    Inc.//DTD WebLogic 5.1.0 EJB//EN''http://www.bea.com/servers/wls510/ dtd/weblogic-ejb-jar.dtd'>
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC '-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans
    1.1//EN' 'http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/ejb-jar_1_1.dtd'>
These are working fine. But my question is, why should we use DTDs of WLS5.1 even
    if we are using WL6.0?
Note that we intend to use EJB1.1 specification.
    Regards,
    Amit

There is a new 6.0 DTD for CMP 1.1 entity beans to take advantage of new
features (such as 2pc). Search the CMP EJB newsgroup for a post from me
about 1 or 2 months ago summarizing the topic.
Otherwise the old DTDs seem to work just fine.

  • Is SP2 for Weblogic 6.1 available for AIX 4.3.3

Is Service Pack2 for Weblogic 6.1 on AIX 4.3.3 available? Does weblogic 6.1 on AIX 4.3.3 support JDK 1.3.1? If not when? Is Service Pack2 must for the support of JDK 1.3.1?

Each raw device you create is used as a single data file.
    Eg mklv -y 'myfile' <vgname> <number of logical partitians>
Will have two special files associated with them /dev/rmyfile and /dev/myfile. The number of logical partitians will be the size of your datafile subtract 1 meg for overhead.
So, if you were addding the above raw volume to a tablespace, and the lp size was 32 meg, you would
    create tabelspace tsname datafile '/dev/rmyfile' size 31 m;
Note the use of rmyfile not myfile.

  • Utilization of AIX resources by JVM/WebLogic

Utilization of resources on AIX SP node by JVM(s)
              Background:
At a client site with AIX 4.3.3 IBM SP nodes in an IBM SP Frame. Nodes are 4 processor
(power3-III) with 4 GB of RAM. System software includes BEA WebLogic Server 6.1
sp3 with 32-bit IBM JDK/JVM 1.3 (btw, no 64-bit at this time for AIX 4.3.3). Several
applications, each with EJBs, run on each server.
              Question:
Many ways to put this but will try the following: If the client goes to the expense
(who says RAM is cheap!?!) of adding 4GB of RAM to each these AIX servers, will
the IBM JVM's (32-bit) be able to take advantage of the RAM above 4GB?
              More background:
Back in college comp. sci courses we learned that the OS handles requests for system
resources. If I remember correctly, the OS would provide a chunk of memory to a
requesting application and that this chunk of memory could be a chunk from anywhere
the the OS could address. The OS would keep track of the physical memory offset/length,
etc so that the individual requesting application would think it was using, say,
a chunk from address 00000000 to 0000FFFF when in fact it was say 00C00000 to 00C0FFFF
(no comments please on my hex addressing - it has been awhile and likely wrong, but
should get the point across). Logical vs physical addressing.
              Question (alternate phrasing):
So, if you have two JVMs, with each needing 3GB of memory eventually, will the OS
(AIX 4.3.3) be able to allocate 3GB to each JVM, given that some of the physical
memory addresses have to be beyond the 32-bit addressability range? I.e., can AIX
4.3.3 allocate memory above the 4GB range to a 32-bit IBM JVM and all be well?
              Note:
Any information or clarification on the above concepts is appreciated. Evidence
from actual installations would, of course, make the client feel more secure in making
the decision to upgrade RAM or not.
              Thank you for your time,

Looks to be a cert or keystore issue. How do you have that setup?

  • Single Client Access Name for Weblogic Forms and Reports.

    I have a 2 node clustered system:
    Windows 2008 R2 64-bit
    Weblogic 10.3.3 (on each node)
Weblogic Forms and Reports 11.1.1.3 (on each node)
Database 11gR2 RAC 11.2.0.1 (on each node)
The forms and reports are clustered and I can connect to each from each of the two servers and the cluster is working well.
The database uses Single Client Access Name (SCAN) to present the database as if it were one server called dbserver1.
I was wondering if there was a similar thing for Weblogic and what everyone else uses to present their application as a single name to the user.
I tried using Windows Network Load Balancing, but this stops the database scan listeners from working.
    Thanks.

    Dear,
Did you find an answer to your question back in 2009?
We are facing the same installation architecture, but we do not find any concrete information regarding SCAN with Oracle Forms 11g

  • Possible to create a JAX-WS, session-bean-based webservice for WebLogic 10?

    All,
sorry - but I'm going a bit crazy here. I have been unable to figure out the secret hand-shakes for developing a session-bean-based web service that will run properly under Weblogic 10.0. There are examples out there on how to create webservices that exists within a war file - but none that I can find that reside within a session bean (an ear file).
I can't even figure out how to do with this Bea Workshop for WebLogic Platform 10.0! Is this possible? I can't find any examples anywhere on how to do this. I must be missing something...
Does WebLogic 10.0 support web services within session beans? I've figured out how to do this with JBoss, Sun App Server, and Glassfish - but no luck so far with WebLogic.
If anyone can please point me in the proper direction it would be very appreciated. My company likes WebLogic, but we have to be able to do this in order to continue using it.
    Thanks,
    -john

Yeah - I've tried that. Everything builds fine - but when I deploy to WebLogic 10, I get the stack below. It looks like it is looking for the class examples.webservices.jaxws.jaxws.SayHello - but there isn't such a class in the example...
    Any thoughts? I'm completely stuck!

  • Jolt for weblogic (5.1) and encryption ?

    Hi.
I'm trying to use encryption between Jolt for Weblogic clients and Jolt servers
    (JSL/JSH), but I can't get it work.
The JSL's "-Z" option is set to 40, and it boots without errors. Tuxedo 6.5 Security
add-on is installed. Everything works fine without the "-Z" option.
However, the Jolt client, while connecting to JSL, always catches a SessionException
    with the following message:
    Reason:NwHdlr: open: J_DH Bad Reply\nbea.jolt.JoltException: NwHdlr: open: J_DH
    Bad Reply
and nothing is logged on the server side...
Is there something to configure or install on client (i.e. weblogic) side ? Has
anyone already succeeded in using Jolt's encryption ?
    Any help welcome...
PS: I have posted this question on several groups, as far as it seems that nobody
    knows about Jolt's encryption...

    Hi Mathieu,
You may need to install a Tuxedo rolling patch. You need at least:
Tuxedo 6.4 Rolling Patch level 210,
Tuxedo 6.5 rolling patch level 47,
    see the following CR:
CR016914 (Jolt only) DiffieHellman Key exchange for Jolt
Also, you may need to have WLS SP 10 installed in order to use
40-bit encryption. See CR 45413 with additional information in the Service
    Pack release notes.
CR 45413: Added an international version of Jolt client which is required to talk
    with International Tuxedo.

    Hi.
Try posting this to one or both of the following newsgroups:
weblogic.developer.interest.general or tuxedo.general. If you get no
    response then I
suggest you open a case with BEA support.

  • Need the link for weblogic 64bit for windows7

    Hello.
I'm planning to install fusion middleware 11g 64 bit on my new PC with windows 7 64bit.
After I surfed oracle website, I couldn't find the link for weblogic 10.3.2 for 64 bit windows. I read that it's inside the generic one. But for the generic and inside the documentation we can see that is related only to unix.
    Can somebody help plz ?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi
I have windows 7 64 bit. ( I knew that the 64 bit is not yet certified for Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g : http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/fusion_certification.html)
I need to install the weblogic server and Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g.
Any directions about the correct versions and (32/64) bit will be much appreciated.
I tired the version 11.1.1.2 (x86-64) after successfull insallation of weblogic server JDK 64 bit (I passed the right parameters). When installing the 11.1.1.2, it comes to a stage and sleeps even I left my laptop for 1 hour after the sleeping stage but nothing happened.
Shall I install the weblogic server JDK 32 bit, and try the 11.1.1.2 x86 only ?
Any help will be much valuable ..
    Thanks,,,
    Joe
