64 bit help!

Hello,
I am a bit lost on where to download the 64bit version when it comes to glassfish. Can anyone point me to the URL that will give me 64bit linux ? The link I usually use to down load ...

and I use the GlassFish/App Platform + JDK version. But as you see there is no distinction for 64bit - should htere be one, and if so can you pl. tell me.

1 - It installed to the Program Files(x86) directory and
2 - When I look at the processes it shows itunes.exe with a *32 next to it, which means its a 32 bit program
Both these things are normal on a 64-bit system. The itunes.exe is 32-bit and the bulk of the iTunes program files are in Program Files (x86).
Last time I checked on a 64-bit system (for a 9.1.x if I'm remembering correctly) in iTunes itself, your miniplayer is 64-bit, and you'll find the dll for that in the iTunes folder in Program Files. The iPod Service is 64-bit and you'll find the program files for that in the Ipod folder in Program files. The GEAR drivers iTunes uses for importing and burning on a 64-bit system will be 64-bit.
Of the associated programs and software components, BonJour will be predominantly 64-bit (there were still some 32-bit components in earlier versions), and Apple Mobile Device Support is entirely 64-bit.
Apple Application Support, Apple Software Update and QuickTime are all 32-bit.

Unable to install in 64 bit, HELP!!!

I've had Firefox 3.6 installed on my 32 bit system and it works great (was installed by Hughesnet tech at my home) I tried downloading and installing on the 64 bit and no luck. I have severe memory problems and can't remember what showed when install failed.v Please help..........thanks.........Bill

What you did is correct,
To install odbc you just have to copy the files inside instantclient-odbc-windows.x64-11.2.0.3.0.zip to C:\OracleClient64 as you already did.
When you run odbc_install.exe it popup a cmd prompt for very short period of time. It´s fine.
What it does is to create the values you saw in the registry, an thats why if you run it a second time it said that already exist. With that, you have installed odbc, now you can test it following this link:

SmartView 11.1.2.2.300 (Build 070) 64-bit Help

Hello everyone.
First, I am not an "IT guy" so please bare with me as I am not technical but need help. :)
I am running Windows 7 64-bit Professional and Excel 2010 64-bit. I installed Oracle Smart View for Office, Fusion Edition 64-bit as an add-in within Excel.
I have worked with our "Hyperion Admins" to connect to the right server so that my "private connections" are set correctly (hopefully that makes sense).
However, when I attempt to refresh my Smart View query I end-up retrieving no data. The "refresh" button under "Smart View" in Excel will proceed as a refresh is occurring but then not return data (I know this Smart View template works as I've used it many times on 32-bit Excel).
Our admins have informed me that I cannot use 64-bit Smart View because our "server" is on a 32-bit O/S (or something similar to that). To me, the logic doesn't make sense and I'm hoping that there is a solution the admins are not aware of.
Happy to answer any questions and appreciate any help.
PS - I have to use Excel 2010 64-bit in order to work with the large data sets I use with non-Smart View work.

First, repost this in the Smart View forum as the product managers for Smart View monitor that forum and you are likely to get a better answer. When you say doesn't return data, have you made sure navigate without data is turned off? Even Microsoft says don't use 64bit office unless necessary for specific purposes. I don't think it matters if the server is 32 bit or 64 but I don't know

Blue screen of death desktop widows 7 Bit help!!!

Hello so like a week ago on Monday I got home from school got on the PC and I started playing BF3 and I was lagging a bit so I just did a reboot and when it started up it like came out of the blue and it came up with a blue screen of Death I haven't installed anything that I can remember the last thing I installed was Norten 360 version 6.0 so later on that week I found out from my friend that you can get a BSOD from having your wires unplugged or dust in the PC so I took everything out and cleaned it and put it back in and double checked it and it looked fine and still BSOD and when I start it up its BSOD same for normal mode all safe modes debugging mode I basically did all the f8 options and f12 and all the other f keys and still BSOD so before I got to my local best buy store for help I just came online for help first below is the blue screen of death that I get so help if you can and thanks for your time! I would just like to follow up on deusexmachina's solution and explain how to delete that file without booting from the drive.
Boot from a Windows 7 disc/USB and after it loads press SHIFT+F10 to bring up the command line. From here, you can navigate to the "C:\Windows\System32\codeintegrity\" directory and delete the "bootcat.cache" file and reboot.
If you do not have Windows 7 bootable media to boot from then you can download the ISO from here and burn to a disc or use a USB drive:

Another option would be to pull the physical drive from the computer and access it using another desktop or laptop to manually delete the "bootcat.cache" file as well.
Afterwards, please upgrade to Service Pack 1, so this issue cannot repeat itself.

Can't print a PS file from FM8 in Windows 7 (64-bit)---Help!

Hi, can someone help with this? I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7 (64-bit) & I use FrameMaker 8. I cannot install my previous PS driver as it says it's not compatible with this version, so I downloaded both the Xerox Global & HP Universal PS drivers (at different times of course to test)---both completely freeze my FM8 book and don't print. I have to completely close FM8 down.
I saw some posts here about changing the PS Language Level from 3 to 2,but that didn't work. The only Adobe PS print driver I could find on the site wasn't comatible with Win 7...
What do I do, what print driver will work for both FM8 and Windows 7 (64-bit)? Would really appreciate the help. Thx!

Windows 7 comes with its own version of the standard PostScript driver. = Where is this driver? I have no idea how to find it, it doesn't show up in my Printer menu in FM?
Given that PostScript generated by a driver can be highly device-specific, you need to install the driver as modified by the PPD file for the device in question. Most printer manufacturers in fact provide a PostScript driver installer that associates their printer's PPD file with the standard Windows Printer driver and subsequently creates what is called a PostScript printer driver instance for the particular device on the I/O port you designate. = ??? I've only updated a PPD file for watermarks and have no idea what this means...is there a step-by-step instruction for this? I just need to download a PS driver to select that works & doesn't freeze up my FM when creating a .ps file.
The real question thus is exactly what are you trying to generate PostScript for? = I create a PS, & then use Distiller to create a PDF. This enables me to have a PDF that automatically has Bookmarks, the TOC/LOF/LOT & all corss-refs are hyperlinked, etc.
If you are trying to create PostScript for distillation into PDF, Acrobat installs a PostScript driver instance of its own, labelled Adobe PDF, that is associated with the Acrobat Distiller PPD. = I have tried the Adobe PDF selection from my Printer menu in FM, but it freezes up FM and I have to close the whole program & no PDF generates.
BTW, although you may be successful in installing and running FrameMaker 8 on Windows 7, in fact Adobe officially does not support FrameMaker 8 on Windows 7. = I don't know what to say---the upgrade is too expensive for some of us folks out here right now, so we all need to work with what we have for now!

On Windows 7 systems, one thing that might help with that code is installing the following security update:

Does that install, or do you get a 1935 error citing the same HRESULT for the security update?
If the update installs, try another iTunes uninstall/reinstall again. Do iTunes and Apple Application Support install properly this time?

Windows XP to Windows 7 64-bit help for imagePROGRAF 8400

We are in the process of moving from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit at our company. Under XP, we are currently running PosterArtist 1.1.1 and Digital Photo Print Pro 1.0.1 and printing to our iPF8400 without problem. While we can get the same versions of software installed from the CDs that were provided with our printer on Windows 7, we cannot get the applications to recognize that there is an imagePROGRAF printer installed. We did download the latest 64-bit driver from Canon's website and we can get the printer to work with other programs and straight from the OS, just not through these older versions of programs. When we try to update PosterArtist, for example, from the downloads available, the upgrade does not recognize that there is a previous version installed. Our vendor tells us we need a whole new printer, but I don't think so. I'm assuming we just need to get newer versions of software for everything to work, but need someone to confirm this.
Is anyone else running Win7 64-bit with this software, and if so, what version? Is this version available as a free upgrade, or will we need to purchase it? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I don't know the specific answer to your problem but just before I retired from Hallmark we had a similar problem.
Our IT department worked on it for several days. Sorry I don't remember what the solution was but they did not buy any additional software, or a new plotter.
I am thinking it is the switch to 64 bit that causes the issue. Are you certain you have all the latest version of the software?
And most of all you got the latest firmware, too? Is your plotter connected directly or is it a share on your network? Ours was a shared plotter in our CAD/CAM and Technical Design departments.

CS4 PS crash in 64 bit Save for Web but not 32 bit - help!?

Anyone got any ideas please on how to stop Photoshop CS4 crashing on Save for Web in 64 bit version of Windows 7?
Running Windows 7, 64 bit Pro with both 64bit and 32bit versions of Photoshop CS4 installed.
The problem: I design a website, add slices etc as I've done for the last 10 years, go to Save for Web and as the dialogue box is opening and the blue bar at the bottom starts to show it loading, it gets just over half way and then crashes, saying the error message 'Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working'. No solution available and then closes. Does this quite a few times (say 20-30%) of the time but not always. Tried the same PS document running 32bit version of Photoshop CS4 and it saves for web fine, never any crashes, only using the 64 bit version of PS. Need 64bit to take advantage of extra memory etc and one of the reasons the machine/ software combo was bought for.
Running a brand new (well about a month or so) Dell T3500 dual Xeon W3505, 12gb ram, Nvidia Quadro Fx 3800, Raptor HD etc built to run Win 7 Pro and CS4 Extended. I suspect the spec isn't to blame, checked all the hardware etc, no plugins that arent standard with a new install, so no obvious reason I can tell of as to why its not working. Not much else installed and started playing up before I installed other bits of software so doent make sense it might be other software cauing any problems.
Put a support query in and basically got told CS4 wasnt tested with 64 bit CS4 and directed to a possible support solution to 64 bit running on xp/ vista with general advice. No use whatsoever.
Firstly, anyone else having the same problem? Secondly, anyone know how to solve this? If its any help, I've pasted the Action Center info on one of the many crashes:

Been reading up on that c0000005 error and in all the Operating systems it is a access violation. There are a lot of hits about windows 7 and software not being allowed local access and be saved that way too. What I think is that windows 7 is not allowing it for some reason in 64 bit mode or some security setting in the local needs adjusting?
I found this interesting fact
I was reading where testors were monitoring how windows 7 firewall allows DRM to run in the firewall. All the software they tested asked first for firewall permission (my software on my system asked first so know it is true on my other system). However, according to the testers, with PS CS4 the DRM does not ask to run with firewall premission. Windows 7 just bypasses the asking part and PS CS4 DRM gets firewall access.

ITunes never opens in Vista 64 bit help

Im running a Windows Vista 64 bit laptop. I tried installing iTunes several times. After sever times I finally got it to install.
But when I went to run it nothing happend. Nothing at all. I hooked up my iPod and still nothing.
Is there a problem with iTunes? or what?
Need help with this please.

OraOLEDB.Oracle Provider Not Found- Windows 7 64 bit Excel 2010 32-bit Help

Currently, I have an excel 2010 application that users on Windows XP 32 bit are using to connect to an Oracle 32-bit database and extract data back into Excel. Each time they open the Excel file, the VBA code automatically creates a new connection using Provider =ORA.OLEDB.Oracle Provider. All users using the Excel file have installed Oracle 9.2.1 run-time client on their machine. All of that works well currently for over 100+ users on Windows XP 32-bit
Starting very shortly our company is moving to Windows 7 64-bit. We acquired a test PC with Windows 7 64-bit and Excel 2010 32-bit. We tried to install Oracle 9.0.2 run-time client but we couldn't connect to the database ( even with Sql Plus). We therefore downloaded Oracle 10g 10.2.04 Run-time client. With this installed, we were able to connect to via SQL Plus to the database. However, using the same Excel file and the following same VBA code.

I get a "Provider Not Found error". The VBA code and file work perfect in XP 32-bit. It seems going over to Windows 64-bit has caused issues with the file's macro. Yea agreed with Excel to Oracle comment. This is due to issues with global implementation of an ERP system and the disconnets between IT and Business. Therefore the business intelligence tables in oracle are most easily pulled and acted on by novice PC users via Excel. In the business, Excel is the standard tool novice non-IT people feel comfortable in to share and act on data. Most of these users have no IT knowledge whatsoever, so we create buttons and filters for them to query and then massage in Excel as they see fit.
Having said that, still wondering if it's a ADO or Oracle Client issue. This is something beyond my knowledge. I wouldn't imagine it's the Visual Basic issue since this same file works in Windows XP. I am not in the position to just scrap Excel as the business relies on this in production and I am the only support. What could 64 bit vs 32 bit differences be having here? Thank You.

Skipping imported Audio when Camcorder is LP/12 Bit - HELP!!

I have searched this forum high and low and I have seen people alluding to the problem of skipping audio when importing from a camcorder which is on LP (i.e. 12 bit) mode.
Has anyone got a solution for this? I have several hours worth of material I need to import - are we seriously suggesting that one cannot doing this with IMovie if the camcorder which is in LP mode??? Surely this can't be right!
When I select 'filter audio' the imported audio skips (i.e. small parts of missing audio) and when I deselect this option the gaps are replaced with a high pitch beeping.

Sorry to say it is truth-you really do need to use 16-bit audio.
iMovie: Use 16-bit audio for best results

One workaround is to record it back to another camera and set it for 16-bit.
The most logical way is to use iMovie to save the audio as a separate file and then use iTunes to convert it to 16-bit/48KHz.

Live 24-bit Help, ple

Hello! I've recently woke up to windows doing an Automatic Update. Shortly afterwards, the sound card stopped working. It was a Realtek Ac97, built into the motherboard. I tried removing the drivers, and then re-installing, with no luck. No matter what I did, the "Audio Settings" panel would always say "No audio device" even though it was there and the drivers were installed.
I just bought a Li've 24-bit Soundblaster, and after I removed the Realtek's drivers, AND disabled it from the BIOS, the SB doesn't work. I've installed everything, with the full installation, and I have the same problem: "No audio device." The drivers seem to be installed fine. I've uninstalled them, and then re-installed them 3 times tonite, with no luck. I've done clean boot (don't know why, but I saw it somewhere on here, so I did it).
The computer is:
AMD AntholonXP
.2ghz with 52mb of ram
Windows XP with SP2
I don't have anything special on it, this is just the "family" computer of sorts. I've checked for any IRQ's conflicting and the answer is no. I'm really frustrated with not having any sound and not being able to fix it. Please help!!! thanks,

It sounds more like a problem with your current Windows. There could be certain corruption on places within the OS already. You could also check whether the 'Windows Audio' service has been enabled as you will need this service to be running in order for audio to work.
Run the command 'services.msc' to access the Service Window.

My iPod touch is not connecting with iTunes, i'm using Vista 32 bit. help?

My computer is recognizing it as a camera and itune is not recognizing it at all.

i've spent half an hour talking to the support people who ended up hanging up on me because they didnt seem to know what they were talking about and after half an hour nothing had changed and they gave up

I followed the directions in your suggestion and got as far as step 4, but I never saw the "recovery mode" alert from iTunes. Instead, I got a windows wizard and went through the following steps with it hoping it would lead to the iTunes alert:
Found New Hardware Wizard
This Wizard helps you install software for
Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)
Cannot install this Hardware
-because Wizard cannot find the necessary software
After clicking "Finish" an alert appeared on the bottom right hand corner of screen: A problem occured during hardware installation. Your hardware may not work properly.
Now I am back to a "Scanner and Camera Wizard" which I have gone through numerous times...
Do you have any other suggestions..??? Thanks for the above... I really thought it was going to work...
