64 Bit OS Drivers

Does anyone know if the SATA drivers offered for download will work (properly) with the 64 bit versions of XP and Win 2k3 server?
I want to go ahead and at least put the 64 bit XP (Extended Systems) on there, but I don't want to waste my time if it won't work.

I'd like to remind folks that 64-bit Solaris supported 32-bit drivers (so the transition was smoother).  MS decided to make their lives easier and force us driver developers to roll over in our graves and recompile everything... and have twice the downloads (I feel some 2x marketing campaign coming on...).
I'd also note that NVidia and Broadcom have 64-bit Windows drivers available now (I'm using them on my 64-bit development system).  It should be publicly known that MS is scheduled to roll out XP 64-bit in Q2/2004.  How long until all the drivers are ported?  From big vendors, expect something for their mainstream products quickly.  For lower volume produts and smaller vendors, it may be a while.

  • 64-bit RAID drivers problem on Qosmio F30 during WinXP installation

I am trying to install Windows XP 64-bit on my Qosmio F30-140, so I used Windows Vista 64-bit RAID drivers. The windows setup loaded the drivers successfully from USB-FDD, but after I choose C: partition to install the windows and the setup started I got the following message " Setup cannot copy the file: KR10N64.sys ".
    Please advise .

download the driver again and try to put it on another clean formated floppy disk

  • Installed Windows & 32 Bit But Drivers and USB ports NOT WORKING.

I bugh an HP Pavillion TS 14 Notebook that came preinstall with Windows 8.1 64 bit which I hate so wiped the drives and installed Windows 7 32 bit and now I have a big problem.  None of my network drivers work and the 2 uSB ports where I plug my mouse and other SB hardware in no longer work.
I did a back up of the SW Set up file that has all of the HP dvers for my laptop but both the network and video divers won't install. And When I try to install the drives I get the eror message saying they are not compatible with this version of Windows.
I have loked on the HP website under my laptop model which s as above but HP don't do drivers for Windows 7 32 for my laptop. And I have looked on both the Realteck website for both the Realteck ethnet and Realteck wireless network drivers but none of them work or install on my operating system. The video drivers Intel don't work either. So I am really stuck a I cannot go back to Windows 8.1 as though that 32 bit Windows 7 would work on my laptop but most of my drivers are not compatible with the operating sytem And I don't want to install 64 bit Windows as I like 32 bit.
The drivers that are not working on Windows 7 32 bit are:
    Realteck RTL8188EE 802-11b/gn witeless lan
    Realteck ethnet die and
    Intel High definition graphcs driver
Which don't work at all on Windows 7 32 bit as they are 64 bit only drivers.
So can you please post me a link bth the network and Intel graphics drvers that work with my laptop. As I have tried lots of different Realteck and raphics drivers for Window 7 but NONE of them work on my system. And None of my USB ports are working either. So how do I solve this problem?

    Hi:
Should be no problem to get W7 32 bit to work on that model.
Just use all of the drivers and software from the HP Probook 450 G0 on your model except the Audio, BIOS and firmware files.
Your model uses the Intel HD graphics driver only.
The first driver you have to install is the Intel chipset installation utility and then reboot.

Audio:  Accept the agreement.  Download and install the first driver on the list.

If for some reason, the Intel HD graphics driver from that model does not work, then use this one...

  • Aluminum MacBook 24.GHz and Windows 7 64-bit - NVidia Drivers and kbmgr.exe

I ahve got this mostly working, except I cannot install any Nvidia drivers - windows 7 insists they are not compatible.
I installed the laptopvideo2go 9400M 64-bit Nvidia drivers via modded inf, Windows identifies them as drivers which match my video card, but when I try to change to that driver, Windows says those drivers are not compatible with the OS.
    Anyone figure out a workaround?
Also, kbmgr.exe does not work at all, no errors, nothing happens when I double-click on it.

Yesterday, I set up rEFIt boot loader and tried to boot from the DVD. There were a list of errors. Probably the problem is my external DVD drive, but SL was installed using the very one. Continue my investigation ...

  • 64-Bit USB Drivers: WHEN????????????

See message subject -- it's all there. Don't tell me about "Bluetooth" or "WiFi" workarounds. Tell me WHEN there will be 64-bit USB drivers.
    Post relates to: Palm TX

I've finally solved the 64-bit USB Driver problem with my Palm T|X. I can now sync my PDA with WinXP Pro /x64 and Vista /x64 with no problems or by using funky work-arounds. Just plug it in to the USB port and away she goes -- recognized instantly!
How did I do it? Not with anything from Palm!
Bought an HP iPAQ 210 that runs under Windows Mobile Classic, version 6. Amazing how there's a 64-bit ActiveSync made for WinXP /x64. Does a number of things in addition to being able to sync using a USB cord . . . Bluetooth 2.0 (the T|X is the slower 1.0 or 1.1) . . . 802.11g (T|X is the slower 802.11b) . . . and it has a VGA 640x480 screen. Yes, it goes for a higher price than a T|X, but wouldn't even have been looking at other PDAs if there had been 64-bit WinXP and Vista drivers for it along with the loss of some features in the latest Palm Desktop (released finally for Vista). The T|X is a fine PDA, except . . . no 64-bit drivers . . . nothing about when they might appear . . . for years now . . . stone silence from Palm about it . . . and quite seriously, it's my sole reason for looking for a different PDA and dispensing with the T|X.

  • Is there a way to not include the 64-bit NI drivers in the distribution kit?

    Hi,
I have an application I distribute that depends on a third party 32-bit only drivers.  Or in other words, the application is not going to be installed on a 64-bit system.  Is there a way, when including the NI drivers in the distribution kit, to only include the 32-bit versions of the drivers?  Doing so should reduce the overly bloated size of the installer by eliminating a large number of files that are not going to be needed.  I'm running CVI 2010.
    Thanks.

    Hi tstanley,
I've checked into this and I'm afraid that the when you build a distribution, you can only choose different parts of the driver that are installed, not whether 32 or 64 bit driver versions are installed.  For example, the entire NI-DAQmx driver is composed from NI-DAQmx Application Development Support 9.2.3, NI-DAQmx Core Runtime 9.2.3, and NI-DAQmx MAX Configuration Support 9.2.3.  If you are using the NI-DAQmx driver to talk to your hardware, you must include the NI-DAQmx Core Runtime 9.2.3, but the other two parts are optional (as you may not need to use MAX for your application or some of the LabVIEW VIs in the Application Development Support).  You can choose each of these parts of the driver in the Drivers & Components tab of the Edit Installer window.

  • Windows Vista 64-bit and drivers

Is there a possibility tu run every drivers and Toishiba software on Vista 64bit system?

Mate - if you're thinking about upgrading the OS i think i have the same problem as yourself: I have just purchased a Qosmio F50 (which comes with the 32bit version of Vista Home Premium). The machine has 4GB of ram but is capable of going up to 8GB & Vista Home Premium won't support that amount of RAM so i need to put a 64 bit Vista OS on it...anyways, i did check the graphics card of the machine on Nvidia's website and they support the graphics card for Vista 64bit OS. It's probably worth you checking their website for compatible drivers Nvidia seem to have a good selection. good luck.

  • Qosmio F50-10G - Windows Vista 64-bit and drivers

I've been using Qosmio F50-10g for bout 20 days now.
It has 32 bit operating system on and i think there is no 64 bit driver support yet.
If i am not wrong x305 series have 64 bit driver support and the configuration of two laptops are similar.
I was hoping to create a 64 bit back-up Dvd but it does not exist on 64 bit if i am not wrong on my pc.
So any suggestions regarding how to use 64 bit drivers on these computers ?
Or do i just have to wait for Toshiba to publish the 64 bit drivers?
    Thx.

    Hi
It seems that at this time only the BIOS and the BT stack was released for the Vista 64bit OS.
But Im sure the other Vista 64bit drivers will be released in the next time.
So I would recommend waiting till the 64bit drivers are online!!!

  • Windows 7 64-bit Webcam Drivers for dv5t-1000

I have to say, the dv5t has been rock solid and performs admirably for the 3+ years that I've had it.  In terms of operation it is nearly perfect.
Here's my problem.  I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64.  Everything works except for the webcam.  It is not detected as an unknown device.  To the OS, it appears that it just doesn't exist.
    Here's what I have tried:
Installing all the drivers for 32 bit and 64 bit Vista and Win 7 that could possibly related to the webcam to include various iterations of "HP MediaSmart Webcam Software" current, past and old versions for all the related dv5t models.  The software will not install due to no detected webcam.   I did get version 2.2 to install and it runs but you can't do anything due to no webcam being detected.
Then, I went to the Intel website to ensure I had the most current chipset offered.  According to Intel, everything was valid or current except my wired NIC.  I updated that.  Still, to no avail.
I have done numerous hardware scans and still no detection of webcam.  I have all the latest patches from Microsoft and HP where applicable.
I tried to look up the actual manufacturer to the webcam for a model number and work backwards from there, but I was unable to find any info on that.
Contacting customer support didn't yeild any results. (they have been great in the past, btw)
I tried seaching in the HP forums and across the internet.  In the forums there are others that do and don't have the same problem but it wasn't clear which flavor of dv5t they had.  I tried the solutions offered in the forum but still nothing.  The internet didn't get results on this issue either.
The webcam did work with Vista Home 32, the OS that orginally shipped with the laptop and i have tried those drivers too.
If I had to guess the is just some disparity between the OS, webcam or motherboard.
Please, if you have a solution, post and share the wealth.
Really, I am satisfied with the dv5t as it's the only model of that type at the time to offer a 16 x 9 screen (all others were 13 x 8 and WOW what a difference).
Anything definitive to resolve this would be great.
Thank you in advance for your time on this.

In device manager tick Show hidden devices, under view on the toolbar.
If DM cannot see it you cannot install a driver, not sure why that hardware will not get detected.

I see others on this forum have had similar problems going back to windows 7. I tried some of their driver solutions that were posted, but to no avail. Can I get some help? Maybe some links to where I can find drivers to help me? Windows update cannot find and automatically install replacement drivers.

    Hi:
Looking at the hardware specs for your model you should be able to use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the HP Probook 450 G2 on your model except the BIOS and firmware files.
Your model uses the Intel HD graphics driver and the Realtek RTL8188EE wireless card driver.

  • Y410 new install Windows 7 64-bit -- 3 drivers "missing"

Two are "base system device" and one is "unknown device."  Not sure what's NOT working, except for one thing so far: speakers (and headphone jack) have no sound even tho the volume sys tray app shows a variable green bar for changes in volume of things I try to play.
Any ideas?  Are we just waiting for the release of new drivers from Lenovo?

The other two is the Card reader. just install the Card reader drive for Vista. I'm also figuring out the third one though. =(
    Trying Win 7 x64
    EDIT:
The third one is caused by Lenovo not supporting a x64 ACPI. Drivers on the lenovo page are usually 32 bit even for Vista.
I googled around just wanted to share my findings.
    http://www.vistax64.com/drivers/167584-unknown-device-microsoft-acpi-compliant-embedded-controller-2...
This one I followed the instruction of the last commenter but didn't complete. So it's seems feasible to apply.
    http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/7185-unknown-driver-acpi-vpc.html
This one did the Trick. The 4th commenter "BAROD". Advised trying the x64 Vista Y530 Energy Management Driver. It did removed the warning in devices. But it also change the UI on the Lenovo keys from green to blue mirroring the Y530's key UI. Tested the battery life. It seems ok as mismatched drivers can mean the indicator will show a few minutes instead of hours of battery left. Lol!
**Do this at your own risk though. But, hey Windows 7 is taking a risk already as Y410 isn't officialy supported. =p
