64 bit setup file installs 32 bit itunes?

I downloaded the itunes 64-bit setup file from the apple website for my windows 7 64-bit laptop. During the install I received a message telling me to download the 64 bit version of itunes because this was the 32-bit.
I restarted my laptop and I uninstalled all apple software and tried again; the same occurred. Nothing I tried works. How do I get the correct setup file if that is what I did wrong? Otherwise, how do I set up the itunes without such controversies?

If you're using a 32-bit browser you may be offered the 32-bit version of iTunes despite the fact that your machine is 64 bit. See the Further Information area of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for download advice and direct links if required.

    Hi Friends,
I want 10g oracle database 64 bit or any Oracle 10g database setup file which is compatible with windows 7 64 bit.
I have searched in torrents and Google every where for this. I dont have Oracle support a/c to order CD.

I need this for installing obiee 11g in my laptop which have win 7 4gb ram.
I tried installing Database 11g and obiee 11.1.1.5g simple install still 4GB RAM seems not sufficient.
    TIA

The only 10gR2 version certified with Win 7 (Pro or higher, Home version is not supported) is 10.2.0.5 - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/relnotes.102/b15680/toc.htm#BABEBBJF
10.2.0.5 is only available on My Oracle Support, which you do not have access to, so you will need to install 11gR2 that is available at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html

  • ITunes 64 bit setup file for 11.1.4 version will not save to computer

Like many I took the new 11.1.4 update yesterday morning and experienced all of the errors with the install.  I have now gone through the process of uninstalling and deleting all iTunes-related software and am ready to install iTunes again.
When I go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and click DOWNLOAD NOW, I receive the pop-up window to save iTunes64Setup.exe.  When I click SAVE FILE the pop-up window goes away but nothing happens -- I am never given the opportunity to choose a location to save the file.  I searched my entire hard drive for iTunes64Setup.exe just in case the download was occurring to a default location and the file is not found.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Has iTunes64Setup.exe been pulled from the download server due to the issues being experienced with that version and *that* is why I can't download the file?  If the file is available, does anyone know how I can access it since I can't get the normal download process to work?
    HP Pavilion desktop computer
    Windows 7
All was ok with iTunes until I accepted the 11.1.4 update yesterday morning.

Problem was with Firefox -- it wouldn't allow saving the file.  Was able to successfully save the file from within Internet Explorer.
Install went perfectly.  My iTunes is now up and running without loss of anything following yesterday's update debacle.

Normally it is not a good idea to put your PowerBook to sleep whilst there are external drives still attached. It is best to eject/unmount any external peripherals prior to putting the PB to sleep. What is also not a good idea is to force it to shutdown in the manner you have described.
The first thing I would try is a PMU reset.

Is there an error message when you try to launch the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe)? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

Probably should've searched around a bit more. Just saw a similar forum post to my own in which redownloading and burning solved another user's similar issue. As of now I've redownloaded the 64-bit ISO, burned it, and so far so good (at 72% extracting files). I will repost here if it was a success in hopes that other users with a similar issue find this and benefit from it. Hope I didn't just waste anyone's time with a question that had already been answered (haha)

  • ITunes 7.71 problem with cover art for 24 bit AIFF files

I am unable to add cover art to 24 bit AIFF files. Was able to do this with iTunes 7.7.

I think I have discovered the same problem (no solution, unfortunately, though) working with some shared files from GarageBand, which I believe are 24 bit AIFF at this point. I will have to check when I get back to the computer with my stuff on it, but at least I don't think I'm going crazy when I tried to save.
I could put artwork into the "info" area, and it would stay there so long as the track was playing, but once the track re-played, the artwork was gone. I have even synched my iPod and iPhone, and the artwork has shown there, but I have to try synching when the track is NOT playing to see if it is only capturing the artwork while it's on the file. But, I thought that was weird as well.
I will keep coming back here until hopefully a solution is posted. Here. Or somewhere. Any similar experiences, please also post. I feel better knowing others are experiencing the same or differing but similar difficulties.

  • Does Apple plan to make iTunes / iPad, iPhone compatible with 24 bit FLAC files?

Does Apple plan to make iTunes / iPad, iPhone compatible with 24 bit FLAC files?

I wouldn't count on FLAC being supported. 24 bit Apple Lossless (ALAC) is our best bet. I have been patiently waiting for 24/96 or greater support on ipods and especially AppleTV... Desktop iTunes is compatible with hi res files, but not FLAC, you have to convert them to Apple Lossless with Max (or some other converter)... I have several FLAC files from HDTracks, and converted them fairly quickly and easily with Max, so I could add them into iTunes. They play fine on my computer (with an external DAC), and stream fine to AppleTV, but ATV downsamples to 16/44 according to my Receiver. I wish it wouldn't do that....

  • After downloading iTunes, the setup file simply does nothing...

I got a new iPod touch yesterday and when I tried to update my iTunes (which was 7.6) the update would not work. After trying to update multiple times I finally decided to uninstall iTunes so that I could re-install it (and hopefully have it work. This, I soon learned was a big mistake. The download of the iTunes setup file to my desktop worked fine, but when I tried to actually install iTunes, nothing happened. I can click the file, a window pops up saying that the program is from an unknown publisher and asks me if I want to run it anyway. I click yes, and nothing happens. When I try to install iTunes from the apple website, it won't work either. I then get a pop up saying that the program is bot valid and will not install. I have tried everything reccomended on the troubleshooting section and no change. I have windows XP, which is up to date, has vbscript installed and have tried everything that I can think of. Can anyone help me??
    please and thank you.

I am afraid I don't know the answer to this. The problem seems to crop up a fair bit, but I haven't seen anyone post a solution.
There is an experiment I have been wanting to try with someone if you are willing. I have been wondering if this could be anything to do with a problem with cryptographic dlls.
Could you try working through *Method 4* in the following link:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798
It is possible that simple re-registering the dlls might help if the process goes through without any error messages.
But it is also a test to check for missing dlls - make a careful note of any error messages that may occur.

  • 64bit iTunes64Setup installing in 32-bit Program Files (x86)

Is Apple's 64bit ITunes being blocked by Windows?
Why is iTunes64Setup.exe asking permission to install in 32bit app folder C:\Program Files (x86)\ in Windows 8 64-bit?
Is Apple holding back on Windows?
A weird thing happened with my latest Windows 8 system OS instalaltion (BTW on a nice platform with 8.1 Windows performance rating).
ITunes was not installed on this 64bit system only Windows and a few 64bit apps installed in C:\Program Files\.
Only music files inside the ITunes folder would play in Windows Media Player. Copy-move in-out reboot shutdown etc.
    As if "ITunes footprint..."
Quoting Microsoft tier 2 engineer, who shared some thought with me today.
Did Apple or Microsoft or both activate something?
Most Bing and Google searches for "64bit ITunes" result blogs complaining of  bugs, typical newbie computer owner stuff.
But today, so many bugs where no two blogers have the same problem.
Would iTunes64Setup.exe install without bugs if it used the default 64bit app folder C:\Program Files\ in Windows 8?
Hmmm, the only repeater blogs complained that music files would not play for countless reasons.
My expert query is obvious: why Program Files (x86) and not Program Files?
If ever there was a red herring, that is it: Windows 8 does not prompt permission from 64bit apps to install into 32bit resources... except with ITunes!
(example, even partially 32bit creative cloud apps like 64Photoshop prompt 64, though they place 32 components in x86\adobe)
This weird install only happens for my pc desktop adobe graphics station.
My Mac Book Pro 64bit (Applecare active) installs in the correct location.
Which kind of falls back into yet another agregious microsoft vs apple war going on?
I have to post here, because there is no Apple telephone suppport for PC screwups, of course.
Please don't let this post go public, already too much trouble.
But a serious inhouse answer would be appreciated. TIA.

EXACTLY! Ditto most of Microsoft's 64bit stuff. But why the prompt to use x86 and not the 64bit folder? If most of tha APP subs are 32, fine. Is there some rule that the components needed for 64 are missing? And what's with Windows Media Player bilking on anything outside my last ITunes install - way when last year some time?
If feedback inspired by Windows tier 3 p. engs goes nowhere, why waste time in a blog. Anyway...

Not Enough Memory typically refers to RAM.  How much RAM do you have on your 64-bit OS computer?  Do you have other programs running that may be using most of the memory?

  • Windows 10 64 Bit .iso file won't load.

I have recently downloaded Windows 10, and because I had 32 bit before on Windows 7 it upgraded to Windows 10 32 Bit. I got some new hardware all capable of 64 Bit,
but I can't get the Windows 10 64 Bit .iso file to load. Isn't the mount feature supposed to make it so you don't have to burn it on to a disk. Well I did that and when I click the setup it says, this app can't run on your PC.  Any help?

Make sure your computer is compatible:
For 64-bit installations of Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview, a small number of older PCs will be blocked from installing the preview because they don't support CMPXCHG16b,
    PrefetchW, and LAHF/SAHF.
You can not install 64 bit from a 32bit installtion.
You may want to try a USB key: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool
