64-bit Sparc Linux Install?

Hi,
Is there a release of Oracle that will support Sparc machines (SunFirev240:UltraSparc III) running linux (Redhat, Suse, or Debian)?
If so which distribution of linux is most popular and with what version of Oracle? If possible I would prefer to use 9.2.x.
Thanks!

That message is probably talking about the 64-bit version of Apple Mobile Device Support rather than iTunes.
Try uninstalling iTunes again, but this time also uninstall Apple Mobile device Support. Now try reinstalling iTunes one more time. (This should also reinstall Apple Mobile Device Support.)
Can you get a connection with a fresh version of AMDS in place?
Where do you get Apple Mobile Device Support?

  • Can we install oracle client 32 bit on Linux 64 bit

Can we install the 32 bit applications like the oracle client on to a database server 64 bit and linux os 64 bit ?

This question is two parts which I paraphrase as per my understanding; please correct me if I'm wrong:
    1) Can you install 32-bit applications (like the oracle client) on to a 64-bit Linux OS?
Quick and correct answer is: Yes. Most distributions will include 32-bit libraries along with 64-bit libraries for just this purpose.
    2) Can a 32-bit Oracle Client "connect" to a 64-bit Oracle Database server?
    Yes.
So ultimately, you could install 64-bit Oracle Database on a 64-bit Linux OS, and then continue by installing the 32-bit Oracle Client on the same host (although I see no real reason for this), and then finally use the 32-bit Oracle Client to connect to the 64-bit instance running on the same host.
    Hope this is helpful!

  • Juniper VPN for 64 bit Arch Linux

Recently I try to connect to the vpn network of my university using my 64 bit Arch Linux box. I succeed in getting it to work, but not without some searching, some methods simply don't work, so I decide to share some info, hopefully someone would find it useful.
    My key ref:
    http://wireless.siu.edu/install-ubuntu-64.htm
(You need to install xterm for it to work.)
The key issue is the 64 bit java plugin won't work with the Juniper software.
Here are the steps I follow:
1.) follow the reference to install java and the java plugin, firstly 64 bit, then 32 bit and replace the necessary libraries. The steps are detailed in the ref.
2.) install xterm if you have not
    3.) link the plugins libnpjp2.so
    ln -s / << location of java you installed above >>/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2.so
With the newest firefox 5, I confirm the location of plugin is in
    /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
in the past, it's suggested to be resided in ~/.mozilla/plugins, I don't think it's true now
I think this is much simpler than the change root method and should be suggested.

Right where do I start...... So I downloaded Audacity to see if this was a problem with Wavelab and re-tried. Well same thing choppy sound and even rebooting did not help. So I will be taking EVERYTHING!!!!!! CREATIVE off my machine, if these idiots cannot be bothered to release drivers that work then I'm going elsewhere. My music creating will have to be put on hold, my 22m will still have to sit in it's box.
Creative you are all a bunch of ?$"?%$%" idiots period. You have ALWAYS (till now in my case anyway) had good drivers. Even though Windows 7 has been in RC for ages you (absolutely missed that boat, hell you didn't even get up to try to catch it) cannot be bothered to write drivers that work and your idiotic half cooked attempts at customer service to give your bread and butter (that's right your customers who keep you in business) solid drivers are an absolute joke. YOU CAN KISS MY SHINY METAL HINEY!!!!! (thanks Bender lol). I am going to my onboard drivers. Thanks Creative (the name "creative" is kind of contradiction in itself, you should look up the meaning of the word lol). Oh and I will be advising EVERYONe who thinks of upgrading to Windows7 to avoid Creative hardware.

  • DAC 10.1.3.4.1 Server on Windows (64 bit) and Linux x86 (64 bit)?

    Hi Friends,
Please confirm wheteher Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console 10.1.3.4.1 Server is supported on
Windows (64 bit) and Linux x86 (64 bit)
Because from edelivery.oracle.com i could see the downloads only for windows and Linux and not specified as 32/64 - bit
so will it mean that the same dump is used for both 32 and 64 bit
    1) Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console 10.1.3.4.1 for Microsoft Windows (V16377-01)
can the above dump is used for both 32 and 64 bit windows?
    2) Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console 10.1.3.4.1 for Linux x86 (V16378-01)
can the above dump is used for both 32 and 64 bit Linux?
The reason is because for OBIA 7.9.6.3 configuration both the Informatica Power Centre and DAC Server should co-exist
and i could see seperate installer for 32 and 64 bit for both Windows and Linux whereas i couldn't see it for DAC Server
    Please confirm .
    Regards,
    DB

It is supported on both platforms. With Linux however, if you have any issues you can to install in a windows environment, then copy over the folder structure. Also, you can possibly run into issues running the setup.exe on 64bit windows. When you open the install directory, go to dac/disk1/install and run the executable for win32. win64bit can return an error where it says it cannot create certain temp directories. It is a known java bug you can find in the support website.

  • Can't invoke scim in an AIR app on 64 bit suse linux 12.1 or 12.3

We have a substantial AIR application that supports Japanese input.  On 32 bit Suse Linux 11.1, we could invoke scim by putting the focus on a text input field and doing ctrl-space.  That would bring up a small scim window on the lower right, and we could enter some Japanese in the field.  Now we have moved to 64 bit Suse Linux 12.1 (and 12.3), and ctrl-space doesn't seem to do anything any more in our flex application, or even a tiny application that consists of only 1 text area.  This is with AIR 2.6.0-19120. scim will come up with the same tiny test app on 11.1 though (w AIR 2.6.0-19170).   On the 12.1 and 12.3 systems scim will come up for other applications, such as just a konsole window, Firefox, or Eclipse, all of which I can type Japanese text into using scim.
I realize AIR on Linux is no longer officially supported, but if anybody knows how to make this work, I'd love to hear about it.  I've tried various environment variable settings, but haven't found the right one(s) yet.

This article from My Oracle Support might be useful: Troubleshooting the Business Rules Command Line Launcher (CmdLnLauncher) [ID 1173313.1]
    And specifically this part:
Error: "Error While Sending Command to HBR Server Running Within the EAS Server"
    Symptoms
CmdLnLauncher utility fails with the following error,
"Error while sending command to HBR Server running within the EAS server."
    Cause
JDK 1.6 installed on the server. This is picked up as the default Java Runtime resulting in issues running CmdLnLauncher utility. The 11.1.1.x release supports JDK 1.5
You can verify what version of Java is installed on the server by executing command 'Java -version' from a command prompt.
    Solution
Uninstall JDK 1.6 and install version 1.5.
If uninstalling is not an option you can perform the following steps to workaround the issue:
    1. Edit CmdLnLauncher.bat
    2. Add path to JRE 1.5 before -DHBR_HOME
    Example of CmdLnLauncher.bat:
    set CPATH=..\lib\CmdLnLauncher.jar
    set CPATH=%CPATH%;..\lib\easclientplugin.jar
    set CPATH=%CPATH%;..\lib\log4j-1.2.8.jar
    set CPATH=%CPATH%;..\lib\framework_common.jar
    set CPATH=%CPATH%;..\lib\eas_common.jar
    rem set CPATH=%CPATH%;..\lib\jaxp-api.jar
    rem set CPATH=%CPATH%;..\lib\jdom.jar
    set CPATH=%CPATH%;..\lib\dom.jar
    set CPATH=%CPATH%;..\lib\xercesImpl.jar
    C:\Hyperion\common\JRE\Sun\1.5.0\bin\java -DHBR_HOME=..\.. -cp %CPATH% com.hyperion.hbr.cmdlnlauncher.CmdLineLauncher %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6
    3. Save Changes to CmdLnLauncher.bat file.

  • 32 or 64 bit Sparc patches for studio 12.3

I'm confused by the option for 32 or 64 bit patches, I installed Studio12.3 on an M4000 running Solaris 10U8. Why are 32 bit patches for sparc listed? I want the 64 bit patches correct?

If you are referring to the drop-down list where you select the platform for searching patches, I think listing 32-bit SPARC Solaris is an artifact of allowing patches for old OS versions. There has not been a 32-bit version of Solaris for SPARC for years.
The list of Studio 12.3 patches is the same whether you select 32-bit or 64-bit Solaris, and in any case each patch covers both 32-bit and 64-bit Studio components. To avoid possible confusion, select 64-bit Solaris as the platform.

  • Is it possible to have 64-bit 11g Full Install and 32-Client on 1 computer?

    Here's why I ask:
I have installed a full 64-bit 11g R2 install on my Windows 7 D: drive, installed two DB's, worked great. Then I realized application I need to support (Cognos 10.1) requires 32-bit client (for drivers) so I installed the 11g client also on D: drive as well (for space reasons).
My problem is that my registry only shows one ORACLE_HOME--the 64-bit full install whereas Cognos reqs to point to 32-bit client.
My sqlplus in the 64-bit OH worked fine (D:\oracle\app\dock\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\BIN\sqlplus.exe) whereas the 32-bit client sqlplus (D:\oracle\client\app\dock\product\11.2.0\client_1\BIN\sqlplus.exe) did not work. The error was:
    SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.1.0 Production on Mon Sep 26 18:02:30 2011
Copyright (c) 1982, 2010, Oracle. All rights reserved.
    Enter user-name: cognos
    Enter password:
    ERROR:
    ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
Any login id (sys, system, etc) gave same error. 64-bit sql-plus worked fine. If I opened a cmd prompt and navigated to the 32-bit sqlplus under the client this WOULD work to login (but then I noticed it was using the 64-bit ORACLE_HOME and PATH settings if I typed set). In order to fix Cognos, I changed my ORACLE_HOME and path to point to the 32-bit client (i.e. from D:\oracle\app\dock\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1 to
    ORACLE_HOME = D:\oracle\client\app\dock\product\11.2.0\client_1
    PATH = D:\oracle\client\app\dock\product\11.2.0\client_1\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\Bluetooth Software\;C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\Bluetooth Software\syswow64;C:\Program Files\Intel\WiFi\bin\;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\WirelessCommon\
Guess what? This stopped both the 64-bit and 32-bit sqlplus from working, even after bouncing the computer. Now the listener (64-bit) OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener will also not start either.
Sooooo, I think I need to set the OH and PATH back to the 64-bit as that is what the Listener requires but any ideas how to get the 32-bit sqlplus to also work?!? The Cognos application appears to use the default server settings (most likely from ORACLE_HOME and Path) and in it I just type the name of the database and connection string, there's no real way to point it anywhere to differentiate. If it doesn't find 32-bit drivers it throws an error hence the reason I need the client sqlplus, etc to work.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Win 7 and 8 require a min of 20Gb but this assumes a minimum install and no other software.
If youre looking at adding other stuff then you need to increase it.
When you say youve selected a private space did you follow the correct proceedure to install by using the bootcamp assistant. Think about file format for the drive before you start as you have a couple of options.
NTFS are what is normally required by Windows but this will prevent you copying files too/from OSX
FAT will allow you to copy files between windows OSX
From memory I used FAT and then OSX/Windows converted it to NTFS during the process so I dont think you can ultimately use the drive from OSX unless you use a Virtual set up.
You may have set the drive up wrong ie set it up for 32bit or a wrong format for the 64bit windows system to use
Have a look at these links:

The Mac SuperDrive built into your Mac is the Optical drive.
    1. Insert your Windows DVD in Optical drive. Disconnect any external storage.
    2. Insert a USB2 Flash drive. This will be used to hold the BC drivers.
    3. Start BCA. Check the options to download software and Install Windows. You do not need to download Windows. The BCA will download the BC drivers to the USB.
    4. Partition your drive.

    Hi Tamekia,
I am sorry to hear nothing has worked yet. I have looked up some additional information and possible solutions. Follow the steps in this document to perform a level-three uninstall, register the Windows Installer Service, and then reinstall the HP software. An uninstall and reinstall of the software deletes and overwrites any of the files that might cause the error and resets the Windows Installer. HP recommends that you download the latest software from the HP Web site to remove any files that might be causing this error.
Level-three uninstall, and register the Windows Installer Service
