648 max maximum allowed hardisk space

Hi everyone,
I am looking to buy a new harddisk for my computer. I currently have a MSI 648 max mainboard with a 80gb maxtor ata133 harddisk.
I have looked everywhere and the manual, and there isn't any info on the maximum allowed storage space. I will probably be buying a 120gb ata133 maxtor harddisk.
Any ideas of the maximum allowed harddisk space?
thanks

hi kingfisher!
thank you very much. I am going to purchase the drive in the next few weeks, lets hope it all work out well.

  • Bex Query: Too many table names in the query The maximum allowable is 256

    Hi Experts,
I need your help, Im working on a Query using a multiprovider of 2 datastores, I need to work with cells to assign specific acconts values to specific rows and columns, so I was creating a Structure with elements from a Hierarchy, but I get this error when I'm half way of the structure:
"Too many table names in the query. The maximum allowable is 256.Incorrect syntax near ')'.Incorrect syntax near 'O1'."
Any idea what is happening? is ti possible to fix it? do I need to ask for a modification of my Infoproviders? Some one told me is possible to combine 2 querys, is it true?
Thanks a lot for your time and pacience.

    Hi,
The maximum allowable limit is 256 holds true. It is the max no. of characteristics and key figures that can be used in the column side. While creating a structure, you create key figures (restricted or calculated) and formulas etc.. The objects that you use to create these should not be more than 256.

Not sure if combination of 2 query's is possible.  You can use RRI. Or have a woorkbook with 2 queries.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to determine the maximum allowable length of a filename for Window ?

    Hi all,
Could I know how to determine the allowable file length (the length of the absolute path) for a file in Window environment?
Due to some reason, I generated a zip file with a very long filename ( > 170) and put in a folder(the length of the folder path around 90). The length of the absolute path is around 260.
I used FileOutputStream with the ZipOutputStream to write out the zip file. Everything is working fine while i generating the zip file.
However, while i try to extract some files from the zip file i just created, i encountered the error
java.util.zip.ZipException The filename is too long.
I am using the class ZipFile to extract the files from the zip file like the following
    String absPath = "A very long filepath which exceed 260";
ZipFile zipF = new ZipFile(absPath);  //<-- here is the root causeIs it possible to pre-determine the maximum allowable filepath length prior i generate the zip file ? This is weird since i got no error while i created the zip file, but have problem in extracting the zip file ......
    Thanks

Assuming you could determine the max, what would you do about it? I'd say you should just assume it will be successful, but accommodate (handle) the possible exception gracefully. Either way you're going to have to handle it as an "exception", whether you "catch" an actual "Exception" object and deal with that, or manually deal with the length exceeding the max.

How can I resolve this issue ?

I ran the SQL 2000 installation and chose "Upgrade existing SQL Server installation" and it worked fine on a test MC.
There is more information on upgrading SQL Server Desktop Engine here:

I don't know if this is supported by Cisco so make sure you have a good backup and run a backup of the MC before attempting it.

  • Minimum and maximum allowed order qty

we want to configure minimum and maximum allowed order qty in STO for  our internal stock transfers.
plz suggest the config steps to be follow for deploying this activity.

    Hi
I think this requirment is for  Retail industry, like stock transfer between stores, clarify
Its not possible in standard I hope, because its purchase order related, check with ABAPer you can implement BAPI and control this setting error message if quantity is differ from Min and max you entered. system should not save the STO if quantity is mismatch, you can achive this through User exist or BAPI.

  • Project exceeds the maximum allowed content

Please let me know how I can correct this error message that I get when I decide to burn my DVD. (Project Duration Your project exceeds the maximum allowed content duration. You will not be able to burn your DVD).
    Thank you;

    Hello, Thomas,
    Welcome to the discussions!
You will get the 'exceeds the maximum allowed content duration' message if your DVD project exceeds the time limit for the type of burn you have selected.
    1. If your project, usually iMovie, is over 2hrs, you cannot burn it to a single layer DVD.
    2. If your project is under 2hrs but your menus and submenus' audio and video content is extensive, your project will exceed the DVD capacity.
    3. Most commonly, your project is over 2 hrs, but you have selected "best performance" in DVD preferences instead of "best quality." 'Best performance' is for projects that are under 60min, and 'best quality' is for those over 2 hrs. You change this in DVD preferences.
Explanation for the differences (adapted from David Pogue's little iDVD4 pamphlet):
"Choosing best performance for shorter projects allows the DVD app to allot a fixed amount of data to each frame of video, enough to make it look great no matter how many minutes of video it includes(up to 60min) so that a lot of the DVD can end up empty, but the burning process goes quickly and the video looks great.
Choosing best quality allows the DVD app to us all the space on the balnk DVD by analyzing the amount of video included and dividing it into the amount of space available on the DVD so that the amount of information used for each frame will vary from project to project, and it will take longer to burn because of the analysis time. But, it will give 2 hrs of great-looking video per disc."
    Does this help??
Post back if you are still having problems, and if so, be specific in what you are trying to do and what is not working.

  • Maximum allowable data fields

    Hi,
I think the maximum allowable fillable data fields is 500. Is there any way of increasing this number?
There are 21 fillable data fields per page and i am looking to have approximately 30 such pages.
As the total number of data field is 30*21 = 620 > 500, what other alternatives do I have except breaking the 1 "big" webform into several "smaller" webforms?
    Regards,
    Edwin

    Hi Edwin,
Thanks for asking.  500 is the max now, sorry about it.

  • Maximum allowed connections

    Hi everyone.
We have a small office here, and we have about 11 people at max, who would like to connect to our server, a mac mini. Most of the days, part of the staff is not in the office, so this is not usually a concern, but on a few select days, the entire staff is in the office, and that means an unlucky soul can not connect to the server.
Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the maximum allowed connections? We are running Mac OS X Server in our main office, but I was holding off from doing do in this office.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

SharePoints changes the number of items that can be shared but AFAIK it does not change the maximum number of connected users.
Can you tell me how to make SharePoints change the maximum number of allowed connected users? I couldn't see anything in the documentation that indicated that the number of users could be changed.

  • MSI-6585 (648 MAX) instant restart issues questions pls help......

Hi, i figured after months of specualation i would try to figure out what the hell is wrong with my pc.  12months ago a bought a MS-6585 648 MAX mobo and a P4 2.53ghz with 2x Samsung DDR 333 (PC2700) ram.  I play many games on my pc it seems when playing Counter-Strike + PlanetSide results in random instant restarts.  Occasionaly it will just hang the system but mainly instant reset of the system.  My cpu temp ranges from 35 48 max approx.
I've tried switching my ram to different slots and so on refit everything but with no luck.  I just have a very unreliable computer atm.  I've reformated plenty of times but with no joy, the odd thing is its random somtimes my pc will not crash or reset it self so this makes it very difficult to figure out what the hell is going on :S
If you have more questions perhaps i can answer them - and give you more info that i have forgotten.
Here are somethings that might be useful:
    MS-6585 648 MAX mobo
    Pentium 4 (northwood) 2,53ghz 533
    Samsung DDR 333 (PC2700)
Gigabyte Maya II Radeon 9700Pro (running in agp 8x)
    Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum
    Bios settings: (things ive changed)
Turned onboard sound off than auto
    AGP Apeture size  128
I have 32bit transfer mode running for hdds
    I have S.M.A.R.T. enabled
(next week end i will have another 512 ram stick to try just incase its my ram but i have done the intel ram checker and it didn't find any problems)
Any help would be greatly appreciated pls ask any things ive missed and anything else u would need to know.  I really want to sort this out as you can imagine its not very nice having a pc that can randomly crash when u do not expect it.

Overclocking is typically limited by one of 3 factors, assuming you have sufficient power:
    1. Memory won't operate past a certain speed, so you run at a different ratio or buy faster memory.
    2. Temperature, so you need to add non-stock cooling or better case ventilation or water cooling, depending on how far you want to go
    3. CPU - At some point the CPU won't run any faster.
Leave the CPU voltage at Auto. You should only need to raise it if you get into extreme overclocking.
As for the size of the power supply, if you stay with Intel Northwood with an ATX board on your next upgrade, an Enermax 465, Antec 480, or something similar (should cost around $80-100US) would get good choices. If you plan on going with a Prescott on an ATX board, I would look at going to a 550W supply.
Personally, I thing the next 12 months is shaping up to be a real headache in making upgrade decisions in the Intel world. Intel have indicated their next generation of boards will be BTX without AGP support. This looks like an upgrade could mean new case, possibly power supply, video card and possibly ram. I am hoping that companies like MSI will produce a transitional product that allows new processors and chip sets on an atx board. If that doesn't happen I see a lot of people switching to AMD.

  • 9700 Pro / SIS 648 MAX /Games Issues

    Hi Everybody!
Everything seem to be find with my PC, but everytime I play a game, I'm sent back to the desktop eventuelly. I have a fresh Install PC with XP SP1, latest driver from ATI (Catalyst version 3.0) directx 9 install, BY the way my mobo is a SIS 648 MAX from MSI with the lastest AGP and IDE Drivers installed (for this motherboard of course) and I have the latest version of the bios. here the description of my Machine.
    Intel 2.4 P4 533 northwood
    1024 gig of DDR 333
    Ati 9700 pro AGP 8X
    SB Audigy
    120 Gig HD Seagate
    With Windows XP SP1 Installed
Any suggestion!??? all my game do this

Try stepping down (underclocking) your RAM tp run @ 266..   There is a huge issue that hasnt been addressed by MSI or ATI at this point.  Its a latency issue.
It could be solved by ATI with a new driver that decreases the AGP latency or MSI could update a BIOS that could be flashed that allowed to reduce AGP slot latency manually.
Let me know if it helps you!

  • I need more than the maximum allowed 30 profiles - how do I change this?

I need more than the maximum allowed 30 profiles - how do I change this? Once I reach 30 profiles and I try to add one - it just deletes one automatically thus only allowing a maximum of 30. Please help.

You are talking about 30 Firefox Profiles on the same Windows Logon User Account?
I never saw that as a limit myself. I had 53 Profiles at one time, although I haven't done that since Firefox 3.0. It was causing an extended launch time and I started using "remote" Profiles that weren't controlled by the Profile Manager and weren't in the '''profiles.ini''' file; launched by command line. Like this in the Target line for the desktop shortcut: <br />
    ''' "C:\Program Files\Firefox_4.0_zip\firefox.exe" -Profile D:\Mozilla\Active-Profiles\4.0_10-15-10-N '''

  • 648 max , testing base and extended memory

I dont see the thread i answered to one time that someone spoke of using ddr400 with 648 max or max-L board and they were getting testing base and extended memory error from the LED's.  Well i just got the same error today and my system would not boot i cut the power to the PS. and turned it back on it would start to boot and hang i could barely get to the windows logo sometimes the vid card wouldnt even boot the logo to the screen. This is with an updated mobo that msi sent me that i had just put in , it seemed to run fine at first then this problem started occuring.  The only difference i had in the setup from the previous outdated board was i had the mem in DIMM 3 and not DIMM 1, so i moved the memory back over to DIMM 3 and now the problem is gone. Just something for those of you with the same problem to try.
Oh and i forgot one more issue, i cannot set the dram speed in the bios manually i have ddr 333 it should be 167 mhz so i set it to 4/5  and the system will not boot at all  i end up having to reset cmos.  I called MSI about that and they told me to just have it set to SPD , I said i know that and im fine with leaving it that way but it should let me set it manually if i wanted to and that i wondered if that had anything to do with the random " testing base and extended memory " problem.

    It was probably myt thread...
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/e_service/forum/viewindex.php?threadid=6204&boardid=10&styleid=1
Have done some testing with both DDR333 and DDR400 and my results are in the thread.
Right no I'm using my DDR400 as DDR333, manually set to 167MHz, using DIMM1, and havn't seen any problems. I'll try the DIMM3 to see if I get any changes.
And by the way.. I tried setting my DDR400 manually to 200MHz and it wouldn't boot at all. After a lot of ugly language I finally got it back to the BIOS....after a reset of the CMOS.
Seams like you should use SPD if you want to use the correct freq for your RAM.
Have you tested the new 1.3 BIOS?

they have to format it to make it mac "compatible", for a lack of better terms.  I don't know what they would do.
