64bit Contact sheet II in Bridge CS5

Hello, Adobe....
are you listening to anybody????
MANY of us use the contact sheet II plugin every day... it is ridiculous to have to restart in 32 bit to use this....
Do any of the developers of this app actually take photographs and deliver them to clients or editors???
WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU THINKING???
Has anyone started a petition to fix this?  I'm already pining for CS4 except that I need ACR updated... yes, once again I am starting to hate adobe
tom

Hello, Adobe....
are you listening to anybody????
As you might know or not, this is a user to user forum and if you want to address Adobe you should contact them directly.
Besides that it is a well known fact that Adobe discontinued the development of the contact sheet script long ago, I believe with CS4 but the script for PS did not change since CS1 or even before as I try to recall.
The replaced this with the Adobe Output Module (AOM) in Bridge itself (Workspace 'Output' or the rightest icon top left icon row in Bridge window) and in CS5 you have a lot of options to create a contact sheet to your own wishes. You can't save as jpeg but you can as a PDF.  In the AOM itself you can choose various settings but if you have Acrobat Pro you also can do a lot more with this contact sheet.
AOM is still far from perfection but the difference between the first and the second version is huge, which you can't say from the Contact sheet script.
As a service they still deliver the script as a Goodie but you really should give the AOM a second (or even maybe a first) look to explore it. I to was one of the people that did not like the discontinuing of the contact sheet script but that is for me long forgotten and I use the Output Module very often and always to satisfaction.
As said, there is enough room for improvement for the AOM but since I got to know it a bit better I really don't have the need for the old script anymore, (and nor do my clients, designers and editors btw ).

It did not disappear from CS5 but already from CS4 and has been replaced
    with the Output Module.
Only downside of the Output Module is you can only save them as a PDF file
but for the rest you have far more options to create your own customized
template (and in CS5 save this templates) for far more superior contact
    sheets.
You did already placed the old contact script in the CS4 edition by
yourself. There is a workaround to get it again in CS5 only you have to use
PSCS5 in 32-bit mode because the old and long ago discontinued Contact Sheet
script is not compatible with the 64 bit mode PSCS5 is written in.
    Find your CS4 Contactsheet plugin (Apllications / PSCS4 / Plug-ins/Automate/
ContactSheetII.plugin) and copy this to the same path in CS5
Wiith PSCS5 closed select the application icon and choose get info. Inhere
put a checkmark in front of 'start in 32 bit mode'.

To be honest, I was not pleased either first time they dropped
ContactSheetII. But after heaving explored the Output Module in Bridge and
getting used to it's nice options I really don't want to go back to the old
    script...

  • How to create a contact sheet of images in CS5

How to create a contact sheet of images in CS5.  Different set up than older version I worked on before.

Have I missed something that the Adobe Bridge Output Module didn’t seem to offer a printing option?  Tried the older plug-in which is what I was familiar with, but that seems to download all the plug ins, not just contact sheets. Do I have to download the whole shebang?

  • CS5 Contact sheet II in bridge

Wondering if anyone could help me make contact sheet II run from bridge in CS5 again. I'm on a PC and I noticed the other day it had disappeared under the tools /photoshop in bridge. I went back and re-installed the contact sheet folder and .jsx file back into the common folder files under adobe/photoshop but contact still wont work from bridge. Any ideas????  I'm running cs5 12.0.4 x32  and bridge 4.0.5.11

Provided you installed the scripts in the right places according the directions in pdf that comes with the optional cs5 plugins, check in Bridge CS5
under Edit>Preferences>Startup Scripts and see if the Contact Sheet II script is enabled.
If the menu item is there in bridge check that the plugins themselves are actually installed.
What version of windows are you using?

  • Why no Contact Sheet options in Bridge from CS5.5 UK

I have searched and searched, but could find nothing on this issue. I tried to call Adobe Support, but they said I had to pay as we have a volume license! We've only had the product 2 weeks!
Anyway, in Bridge you used to be able to select the Ouput module and have options for making a PDF contact sheet. I get nothing. I thought perhaps it was a corrupt installation, so I tried another Mac, but the same thing. I thought perhaps it was the vesion of CS5.5 (Design Standard) so I tried another Mac with Web Premium. Same thing. I vaguely remember reading something about some modules don't work for all localized versions yet, but I couldn't verify that anywhere.
If anyone could shed some light on this I would be really grateful.

That's why I thought it might have been a corrupt install, but it's the same on all our Macs, even the Web Premium edition.
You mean that you have bought different Suites and installed them on all you Macs and they all have the same issue? Are you working on files on a server or standalone?
Normally the advice would be to restart Bridge holding down option key and reset preferences, even combined with deleting the Bridge plist file but when it are different install disks on different Macs that is not likely to solve the problem.
Have you already contacted your software supplier?

  • How to create a Contact Sheet with Adobe Photoshop CS5 from a disc with images in different folders

I got a disc with images files (mainly ai and psd files) in different folders and subfolders, how can I create a contact sheet including all the image files in different folders. (It seems that Adobe Bridge can only create a contact sheet by clicking the image files directly but not a folder including the images files)
    thx!

Use the optional Contact Sheet II plugin which is found in Adobe's Downloads:
    1) search for contact sheet in PS CS5 help
    2) choose the first result and read carefully about the Photoshop Optional Plug-In Picture Packager
    3) follow the instructions to download the zip file and note the location that you download it to.
    4) follow the instructions to install the files.
I'm not sure how PS CS5 will handle ai vector image files or if you have to batch convert them to raster images first before using Contact Sheet II.  Contact Sheet II allows you to choose a folder and Include All SubFolders as an option so you could create a Contact Sheet folder and copy all of your desired folders into that folder which will become subfolders of the main folder you choose for your contact sheet.

  • Contact sheet II in Bridge

I added the Contact sheet II files to their locations, restarted Bridge and this is the message I get.

    I followed these instructions....................................

Im not using a x64 system.
The ability to create contact sheets and picture packages as a PDF presentation is now available in
Adobe Bridge CS5 Output Module. We highly recommend creating your contact sheets and picture
packages this way. If you would like to continue using the legacy ContactSheetII and/or Picture Package
    plug-ins, please follow these steps:
    1. From the PSCS5OptionalPlugins downloaded folder, drop the //<language>/Optional Plug-
    Ins/<Windows 32-bit or 64-bit>/ContactSheetII plug-in into the //Adobe Photoshop CS5/Plugins/
Automate folder (this is for both Contact Sheet and Picture Package).
    2. From the PSCS5OptionalPlugins downloaded folder, drop the //<language>/Presets/Layouts folder
into the //Adobe Photoshop CS5/Presets folder and restart Photoshop.
Optional: To add this legacy functionality back into Bridge (as a menu item):
    1. From the PSCS5OptionalPlugins downloaded folder, drop the //<language>/Optional
plugins/Bridge Startup Scripts/photoshop_contact_sheet_ii folder and the
photoshop_contact_sheet_ii.jsx file into following locations and then restart Bridge.
    • Windows Vista and Windows 7: //Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Startup Scripts CS5/Adobe Photoshop/
NOTE: Contact Sheet does not work on Mac 64-bit systems. Please launch Photoshop in 32-bits to
    enable functionality

  • What happened to Contact Sheets in Adobe Bridge CC

Can you explain the reason why you can not create a contact sheet in Bridge CC? I know you can select all and bring the files into Photoshop and then create a CS, but this takes up too much RAM. Why did Adobe get rid of the output panel in Bridge CC. I teach Photoshop at a local college and would like to know Adobe's rationale as I prepare for a new workflow for my students.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cheryl

    Hi,
    I found these:
1 - Click on the triangle next to Output Workspace and from that menu choose "reset workspace" (works for Win as well)
2 - If still no result, quit Bridge and go to your user library. OSX specific instructions here: By default the directory is hidden, so choose menu Go in Finder and when you have the drop down menu in view press option key to reveal the user library. Then use this path: Application Support / Adobe / Bridge CC / Workspaces. In this folder find and delete the file called: "!!-$$$AdobeOutputModule.workspace".
Let me know if you need the Win specific path.
    regards,
    steve

  • Contact sheet II in Photoshop CS5 ?

I was able to downlod the contact sheet II for Photoshop CS4 64
bit. Does anyone know if it available for CS5 64 bit?

You wouldn't happen to be running a 64 bit system would you?  On a 64 bit system, you must keep in mind that there are two variants of Photoshop installed:  32 bit and 64 bit.
Did you copy the 32 bit and 64 bit plugin into the proper Photoshop folders?
On a 64 bit system, in order to use the Contact Sheet II plugin in both variants of Photoshop:
    This file:     Optional Plug-Ins\Win32\ContactSheetII.8LI
    Goes here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins\Automate
    This file:     Optional Plug-Ins\Win64\ContactSheetII.8LI
    Goes here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins\Automate
    This folder:  Presets\Layouts
    Goes here:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets
    And here:    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Presets

  • Why did Adobe get rid of making nice neat PDF contact sheets directly in Bridge??

I know there is an output module, but it is not really any help! It still uses photoshop to create multiple seperate PSD files and takes forever! It is VERY important at my job to make contact sheets, we need them to go through hundreds of pictures. Why can't you just bring back making it straight in Bridge? It was so much faster and convenient. I cannot afford to wait while Photoshop generates 50 pages of 8 thumbnails for me as it ties up my computer, not to mention the steps to convert those files into one nice pdf. It is incredibly frustrating!  Just makes no sense Adobe would do this??

Not sure I understand your problem but I guess you have Bridge CC and now you don't have the option to use the Adobe Output Module? The output module you are talking about is the old contact sheet script that indeed produces loose sheets (PSD, but also jpeg) and can take a while depending on your settings.
But you still have the option to install the Output Module for Bridge CC again, but you have to do it yourself, it can be downloaded via this link but you should first read the instructions carefully because it needs some attention. With the Output module you can use Bridge again to create PDF documents with many pages and custom lay out.:

  • Why did Adobe drop contact sheets in Adobe bridge?

The export to contact sheet was one of the better features of Bridge. Why would adobe remove this feature? It is extremely frustrating.

Well, you are not addressing Adobe here in the user forum.
We can offer solutions and workarounds, but we can never explain why Adobe does anything.  As my astronomy professor used to say a half a century ago, " I cannot explain the universe to you:  I can only describe it to you."
There's some talk about the Pixel Bender, previously codenamed Hydra, a programming language created by Adobe Systems for the description of image processing algorithms, on which it was based was just causing too many headaches
    Just a clarification:

Do not be abusive or aggressive in your tone
An aggressive, demanding, accusatory or abusive sounding post will often evoke an aggressive or abusive and unhelpful reply.
Remember, you are not addressing Adobe here in the user forums.  You are requesting help from volunteers users just like you who give their time free of charge. No one has any obligation to answer your questions.

  • Editing file names on Contact Sheet created via bridge

The text is overset on thecontact sheets I just made. Four hours into it and I do not want to start over. Maybe my head isn't working, but can I (and how?) change the font size on all these easily. Hoping someone can say "Of Course.... just do this..."

Do a search and have the Find Format find the exact type size, font and leading used in the captions.
Then go to the change format and chage it there.

I created a contact sheet on Adobe Bridge CS5. I want to save it as jpeg format, but it will only allow me to save it in pdf format. How can I change it to JPG...if it is at all possible?

You could possibly open the .PDF file in Photoshop then File - Save As a JPEG....

    Donald,
I don't have CS5, but that functionality (or some of it) was moved to the Output Module in Bridge in CS5:
