64bit Vista: Installing MediaSource5 (CMS5_PCAPP_LB_5_10_38) prob

Can anybody help. I have a Creative Vision W 60Gb which is nati'vely supported within vista 64bit. I have attempted to install MediaSource5 without success on this OS. The install program sits at 'searching for previously installed etc etc'. Creative's website lists this software application on the Downloads Section as suitable for Vista 64bit. I have tried various ways to install including turning off the 'User Account Control', 'run as administrator' etc etc. Has anybody got the software to install correctly?I really am after the Video Conversion application so I can transfer my videos to the device successfully.

Mediasource 5 works fine on my Vista 64 setup. It installed correctly from the CD I got with my Zen Vision W. And it works fine. However, note that I also have not been able to install the update from the website (it searches for 'installed versions' forever). As the original is working fine, this is not a problem for me. Zen Vision Explorer however does not work at all for me. Again, this is not too much of a problem as mediasource has mostly the same functionality. rgds?

  • Java SDK ME on 64bit Vista?

I'm trying to pick up some programming skills in Java so that I can make apps for my phone, I require Java SDK ME to do so. I've seen a lot of people saying that Java SDK ME won't work on 64bit Vista and they're right, it doesn't. However, some people said there was a way to make it work, but they didn't seem to be very good at giving instructions so I'm still lost.
At the moment, I have no Java developer tools installed because none of them worked. Could someone point me in the right direction to getting Java SDK ME to work on 64bit Vista?

    Hopefully this can help you:

  • FIX FOR 64BIT VISTA SPIDIF (Audugy2 ZS platinum) running to an external

?This is when I want to run my PC to my projector and home theatre amp.
Hello All. Im not an expert on this subject but I have been trying to get spidif to work for frigging ages and last night I actually did. So here goes. Hopefully this information will help other 64bit vista users out there with an Audugy2 ZS platinum.
Things I got before starting: Latest creative drivers, K-Lite 64bit codecs and 64bit version of media player.
In audio console, pick spidif passthrough.
In control panel, Go to speakers, custom tab, and set to digital output only.
Set your spdif out as default. and tick output to 48000hz (i just ticked all of them, but I hear that 48000 is a safe one to aim for). Mine is set to 96000hz.
Now for PowerDVD in configuration pick spdif in the audio tab, mine actually worked now! and for Avis etc with a 5. soundtrack? use the 64bit version of media player (Ive read somewhere that the default 32bit version has issues with 64bit vista when it comes to spdif). Now I watch Avis in 5.!
Hope this has hepled some people and I apologise if this info is somewhere else on the forums.

  • Itunes 64bit Vista

    Hi guys,
I bought a new comp 2 weeks ago downloaded the latest version of ITunes (7.3) it worked fine yet I couldn't get it to burn anything (no big deal).
Two days later, I had ITunes running went away from the computer for a while and when I came back ITunes had closed???? Tried to re-open ITunes and it said DEP or something was stopping it from opening. I have now turned off DEP yet it gives me a different error problem APPCRASH.
    Quicktime will not open either.
I am running 64bit Vista and have heard of numerous program combatability issues. I really don't want to install XP though is there a patch or something that is ready to enable ITunes to work on VISTA.
    Does anyone know why;
-ITunes worked for 2 days then died???
    -Quicktime doesn't work either???
    -Burning didn't work originally???
IS there a date for when a patch or solution for this problem is meant to be fixed, have tried contacting Dell, Microsoft, Apple and have had 1 unhelpful response from Microsoft.

We are all just users here and we do not know what Apple plans until they announce them.
However there is a clue that Apple may be working on 64 bit support in a mysterious error message produced by iTunes which referes to a 64 bit version - which does not currently exist.

  • Windows Vista install disk for my Mac?

I have just installed Windows vista onto my Mac but when using boot camp it only gives me the option of creating a Windows 7 install disk.  Does anybody know where I can get a Windows Vista install disk?  Thanks

No doubt if you Google for it you will find vendors. Check with amazon.com, too.

  • SDHC card does nor work on Satellite A200-1J0 with a clean Vista install

    Greetings,
When I bought this notebook there was preinstalled Vista 32bit and as usual some Toshiba's drivers and software. As I remeber there was no problems with built in memory card reader, it was reading regular SD cards and also SDHC.
One day I had to reinstall operating system (without using recovery disc) and i've downloaded drivers for my notebook from official site, installed them and the card reader now it's not able to read SDHC cards. Is it just me?
This is what I installed for reader:
-Toshiba Value Added Package where is TOSHIBA Flash Cards inside of it
    -Flashmedia Driver
    -SD Utilities
I just want to highlight that there's no problem with reading mmc or normal sd cards.
My sdhc card is 100% working properly with other card readers.
Another sdhc card that I have is not working, it's just like I put nothing inside the reader.
    Just nothing happens.
Is there anything else that I missed and this is the reason of my problem?
Any fix for Vista or something like that?

    Dear Jeffrey,
My problem is solved, thank you so much! :)
    This words were very helpful:
"Mostly an installation instruction is placed on the Toshiba European driver page which contains the essential installation order."
So I went on that site and found file where was written:
    Contents and Installation order
    for Windows Vista
    INSTALL ORDER
    WINDOWS VISTA
    No. Component Name Version
    1 Windows Vista RTM
2 Intel ICH7M Chipset Utility native
    3 Intel 945GM Display Driver
    or
    3 nVIDIA G72MV-A3/NB7P-GS Display Driver
    4 Realtek ALC861D Audio Driver
    5 Realtek 10/100 8101E/ Gigabit 8111B LAN Driver
6 Synaptics Touch Pad Driver (with LuxPad)
    7 ALPS Touch Pad Driver
8 TI Multiple Digital Media Card Reader
    9 TOSHIBA Software Modem
10 Intel Golan Wireless LAN Driver
11 Intel Kedron Wireless LAN Driver
    12 Atheros Wireless LAN Driver
    13 Chicony Camera Software
14 Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba
    15 Bluetooth Monitor
    16 TOSHIBA Value Added Package
17 TOSHIBA Flash Cards Support Utility
    18 TOSHIBA Hardware Setup Utility
    19 TOSHIBA Supervisor Password
    20 TOSHIBA SD Memory Utilities
    21 TOSHIBA ConfigFree
    22 TOSHIBA Assist
    23 TOSHIBA Speech System
24 TOSHIBA Extended Tiles for Windows Mobility Center V1.01
    25 TOSHIBA Fingerprint Utility V5.6.0.3221
Thanks to that file I've found that I haven't installed "TI Multiple Digital Media Card Reader". In toshiba european download site there's nothing like that so nothing weird that I didn't find that before. Here google became a good companion and helped me to find that file. I just simply installed it without deinstaling previously installed drivers (just like is NOT written in install order above) and it's working :)
    Thank you once again!
    Best regards,
    Davit

  • On Windows Vista, installed AdobeAir update as required. "Mandatory Upgrade" removed Acrobat!

On Windows Vista, installed AdobeAir update as required. Next screen said "Mandatory Upgrade" & when I clicked on it, version 2.0 of Acrobat was removed, new version 3.2 wouldn't download error# 16820! What do I do now? Need Acrobat, but I don't know what to do next! I'm working at a small church w/no budget. so please help if you can.

Vista requires AA8.1 at a minimum. I think that a few have gotten AA7 to work, but it is not supported by Adobe on VISTA. I know that is not good news, but it may be that you will be unsuccessful. At the very least, expect to have to print to file and open distiller to complete the conversion. I think that AcroTray is one of the major problems with the use on VISTA.
Hopefully someone might stop by that has successfully gotten over the registration problem you are having, and possibly gotten AA7 to work in some sense on VISTA, but do not be surprised if there are no takers. Good luck.

  • Windows Vista Install Freezes

    Hi,
Brand new 15" MBP and trying to install Windows Vista SP1 64 bit. Partitioning when well with Boot Camp Assistant, after inserting Vista install disk and having the MBP restart, it boots the DVD and gets to the point where I put in the Product Key (valid) and from there I get an hour glass and nothing happens. I left it for two hours and still no progress. I also tried to not put in the Product key and attempt to enter it later and the same thing is happening. No cables or devices are attached to the MBP other than the power adapter.
Been messing with this for hours, very silly problem. Might have to call Apple Care in the morning but thought it would be best to start here.
    Eric

Will Apple Care support what is probably a Windows issue as it is being installed via Boot Camp?

  • Windows vista installed, can't install Mac OS XLeopard

I have a macbook and am trying to install a clean version of leopard. this macbook had vista installed on it. I have tried to do a clean install of mac leopard. The message comes up" it cannot be installed on this computer.
As far as I know there is no problem with the macbook it has a 120 gig hdd. this does not show in the startup disc options when I go into the disc utilities using the leopard disc.
    can anybody help please?
    thanks

    Greetings,
I'd take the CD/DVDs that came with the Macbook, or a full retail version of Leopard, and place it in the drive and start the machine up holding down the C key until you see the spinning gear looking thing, then let go and let it boot up - it takes a bit of time.
Then at the first screen, after it's booted, say continue, and at the next screen you will find a Utility menu at the top. Click on that and select Disk Utility and select the hard disk - usually the first item in the left pane of Disk Utility, from there do an erase, and at that time you can partition it, or let it be all one partition and select a format HFS +, or MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and give it a name.
That will erase the drive and get rid of the Windows infection. If you want to infect your Mac with Windows, then use Boot Camp after you do a complete install of Leopard, and do all of the available updates.
    That should get you going.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Why Toshiba notebooks are not delivered with the common Vista install CD

Our household now has two x Toshiba laptops, both of which were supplied with MS Vista Home Premium pre-installed.
The nature of the Recovery Media provided with these machines is such that (a) we do not have sufficient flexibility over volume/partition sizes, program locations etc., and, more specifically.
It makes it necessary for the majority of the bundled software (Norton Security etc.,) to be installed by default in the event of a system failure. (And immediately uninstalled following recovery! An unnecessary waste of time.)
Bearing in mind that a proportion of the price paid for each laptop must have included a cost for the Vista Operating System, does anyone know if it is possible to obtain a Master Recovery disk which ONLY consists of the operating system, and which allows us the flexibility of configuration which used to be available when the OS was purchased as a separate product.
Additionally, please let me know if it is possible to purchase Toshiba laptops as a RAW machine, i.e no OS supplied, and I will then buy my own and cut out the rubbish which is supplied on the pre-installed media.

    >Why Toshiba notebooks are not delivered with the common Vista install CD?
The answer is very simple: software is bundled to hardware and when you buy notebook you buy license for preinstalled Vista version and you can install recovery media so often you want and it belongs JUST to your notebook model. It cannot be used with other notebook or PCs.
If you get usual Vista installations DVD it can be installed on each computer system. For such purposes you must buy Microsoft installations DVD.
As you already wrote Toshiba recovery image contains much software that can be not useful for you. You can remove it from the system and nobody force you to use them. I do the same.
After clean OS installation the first thing I do is to remove or software I don't need or I don't like.
I optimise preinstalled OS on my own.

No such problem when I go through Internet Explorer.

  • 64bit iTunes64Setup installing in 32-bit Program Files (x86)

Is Apple's 64bit ITunes being blocked by Windows?
Why is iTunes64Setup.exe asking permission to install in 32bit app folder C:\Program Files (x86)\ in Windows 8 64-bit?
Is Apple holding back on Windows?
A weird thing happened with my latest Windows 8 system OS instalaltion (BTW on a nice platform with 8.1 Windows performance rating).
ITunes was not installed on this 64bit system only Windows and a few 64bit apps installed in C:\Program Files\.
Only music files inside the ITunes folder would play in Windows Media Player. Copy-move in-out reboot shutdown etc.
    As if "ITunes footprint..."
Quoting Microsoft tier 2 engineer, who shared some thought with me today.
Did Apple or Microsoft or both activate something?
Most Bing and Google searches for "64bit ITunes" result blogs complaining of  bugs, typical newbie computer owner stuff.
But today, so many bugs where no two blogers have the same problem.
Would iTunes64Setup.exe install without bugs if it used the default 64bit app folder C:\Program Files\ in Windows 8?
Hmmm, the only repeater blogs complained that music files would not play for countless reasons.
My expert query is obvious: why Program Files (x86) and not Program Files?
If ever there was a red herring, that is it: Windows 8 does not prompt permission from 64bit apps to install into 32bit resources... except with ITunes!
(example, even partially 32bit creative cloud apps like 64Photoshop prompt 64, though they place 32 components in x86\adobe)
This weird install only happens for my pc desktop adobe graphics station.
My Mac Book Pro 64bit (Applecare active) installs in the correct location.
Which kind of falls back into yet another agregious microsoft vs apple war going on?
I have to post here, because there is no Apple telephone suppport for PC screwups, of course.
Please don't let this post go public, already too much trouble.
But a serious inhouse answer would be appreciated. TIA.

EXACTLY! Ditto most of Microsoft's 64bit stuff. But why the prompt to use x86 and not the 64bit folder? If most of tha APP subs are 32, fine. Is there some rule that the components needed for 64 are missing? And what's with Windows Media Player bilking on anything outside my last ITunes install - way when last year some time?
If feedback inspired by Windows tier 3 p. engs goes nowhere, why waste time in a blog. Anyway...
