6500 HP printing problem

Has anybody solved this problem? I can only print a 4x5 instead of a full page. HP says it's an adobe problem not theirs.
I tried adding fax in front of the printer's name as someone suggested but it only wanted to send a fax. So that didn't work. Pllease let us know if anyone finds a fix for the problem.

What printer model - is this an Officejet 6500 series or a Deskjet 6500 series? What operating system? What program are you printing from?  What are the paper type and size settings in your driver?
I could print fine on 8.5x11 paper.

  • 6500 multiple installation problems with existing hp printer on same computer

I just bought a 6500 wireless printer on a 14-day trial period from Staples.  The first problem I had was that the installation CD said it did not support Windows Media Center Edition on my laptop.  I chatted online with HP and downloaded a driver and ran the install.  It got error messages halfway through that the HP PSC2100 (which I have used with my laptop) does not support wireless.  I deleted the PSC2100 from Printers and Faxes and re-ran the install.  This time it worked, but I got a message that the printer could not communicate with Scanning.  I ignored this message and I am able to print from my laptop wirelessly.  Now I want to install on my HP desktop, which has an HP Photosmart printer connected.  Will I get this same kind of installation problem?  Should I delete the Photosmart before trying the install? Do I need to connect the printer to the desktop with the USB cable (I'd rather not move the printer)? Will I be able to scan wirelessly after getting the Scanning error message?  All of these could be tested, but with only 14 days I'd like to launch off other peoples' experience.
    thanks!

  • How can I print to my HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless Printer from my iPhone 4S which used to work before AirPrint printers were even available? (running Mac Lion OS, all software and HP sw updates are all performed)

How can I print to my HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless Printer from my iPhone 4S which used to work (on prior iPhones) before AirPrint printers were even available? (running Mac Lion OS, all software and HP sw updates are all performed)
I don't get it, I read one post about why would we have to buy an AirPrint Printer when we have used the "print to a wifi printer" just fine in the past?  Yes I feel that's exactly what's happening to me now too. I want to print from my iPhone and iPad to my WiFi Printer which is also now connected to my Airport Express WiFi network just fine. No problems.

Very glad you added that bit of information because I see different problems similar to this.  I want to share with them what you did and hopefully you not only fixed your specific problem but you can lend some more advice to others with problems like this. Thanks!

  • HP Officejet 6500 E709n printer - black ink not printing

I have an HP Officejet 6500 E709n printer and for some reason the black ink is not printing.  The color cartridges work fine.  I even changed the black cartridge, cleaned and aligned the print heads, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, but nothing fixed the issue.  I was wondering if the color management profile has something to do with this.  Please help!
    Thanks!

I am experiencing the same problem. I too, have tried installing a new black ink catridge, taking out the printer head and cleaning it by hand, cleaning the printer head using the HP software, doing a partial reset, doing a hard reset and nothing. Black does not print out at all, whether it's an alignment page, quality report or something from my own files (Word, Excel, PDF, etc). The black does not appear at all. Can someone PLEASE help solve this problem?

  • Reader 10.0 Printing Problem - Font changing while printing

    Dear all,
can anybody help me on my printing problem with Adobe Reader 10.0 ?
While printing a pdf I cannot do anything else, it is not possible to touch the mouse
because when I do this, the font is changing while printing to something like grecian.
Can somebody help me on this ?
Reader 9 did not cause this problem.
    Thanx and best Regards, Travelplan24

I have the same problem, but I didn't realize it could be set off by my working on another task. It is also triggered when the pdf has scientific notation, or a very extreme change in font and font size. E.g., text in boxes, algorithms, etc. seem to trigger the problem.
I have reinstalled my print driver (several times, latest on Sunday), and reinstalled Adobe Reader (now 10.0.1) but the problem remains.
    Printer:
HP Officejet 6500 (E709n Series) wireless, now on USB.
Document properties: Most recent font conversion - yesterday:
    Producer: Distiller 4.0.2 for Mac
    PDF version: 1.3 (Acrobat 4.x)
Fonts: Helvetica-Neue, Type 1, Encoding: ANSI and Roman
The font is not converting into Greek. E.g. "Problem-Solving Process" became "Qspcrfm . Tpnwjoh!Qspdftt"' with the kerning overlapping characters.
The font 'conversion' has happened many, many times on a wide variety of pdf files in the past 6 months. Never had the problem before. I had downloaded new Reader, and purchased the new printer -- I do not know which change created the problem.
I will cease doing anything when I print as a temporary workaround, but that is not a good solution.
I sure hope you can figure out what the bug is. Thanks in advance.

  • HP 6500 Uninstall/Install Problems

    Well,
I've toiled for 4 hours trying to re-install my hp 6500 that suddenly stopped working from my desktop (wired tcp).  I ended up downloading the CD and running it but alas it fails every time.  Usually when it tries to "discover" the network it hangs at 66%.  I've read reccomendations to do a complete uninstall but no instructions are provided for working from the downloaded software (vice CD).  I can still print from wireless laptops but not my desktop.  My last action was to try to install it via usb but that crapped out somewhere as well.  Any assistance would be most appreciated.

    Hi dogtired,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see your HP Officejet 6500 stopped printing from your computer. You tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but everytime you attempt the installations it stalls at 66%, usually when it is trying to discover the network.  I would love to get you back up and printing but require a little more information:
    1. What is the Exact model of HP 6500 Printer you are using (as there a few in the 6500 series)?
    2. What is your current Operating system, Windows or Mac and which version?
    3. How do you want the printer connected, USB or Wireless?
    4. Have you tried using the software download instead of the CD?
If you have a Windows OS later than XP, please start here: HP Print and Scan Doctor- It was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan products connected to Windows-based computers.
Please let me know if the PSDR helps with the install, I will watch for your reply.

  • The cyan color won't print when using our HP Pro 6500 Officejet printer

the cyan color won't print when using our HP Pro 6500 Officejet printer.  Can I get help with this?

This doesn't make sense. The printer is exhibiting behavior noticed when a network printer is connected to a laptop while the laptop is connected to a VPN. But in this case, neither the printer is connected on a network, not is the laptop connected to a VPN per se.
Are you sure all the latest drivers for your laptop have been installed? That's pretty much the only thing I can think of right now.

  • Officejet printer problem

I have an officejet 6500 E709N printer and it just stopped printing.  All I get is an empty blank page.  The black cartridge is full.  I have run a test page and it won't print either, so I can't tell what the problem is.  And yes, I've run the tools clean printer head steps one and two and still nothing.  Can anyone help??

    Hi @rebel64
I understand the printer is working, but the printed output is missing black or color inks, or the output is blank or has very little ink. Please use the following document to troubleshoot the issue, and let me know the outcome of your efforts; Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Officejet 6500 All-in-On....

  • How to print doc from my kindle fire to a hp officejet 6500 wireless printer

I have a kindle fire and a hp officejet 6500 wireless  printer. How do I connect the 2 and print a document that is on my kindle? They are both in the same house

    Hi,
    Please try:
From a supported app, find the Print option from the app's menu, and then tap Print .
Find the option to select your printer. The Kindle device displays a list of printers that are available on the Wi-Fi network.
Find your printer on the Wi-Fi list, and then tap to select it. Once you select the printer, your device remembers the selection.
If your printer is not on the Wi-Fi list or if you want to use the wireless direct connection method instead, find your printer on the Wireless Direct list, and then tap to select it. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection. Once your printer is connected, your device remembers the selection.
Make any changes to the available printing options, if desired.
Tap Print to send the print job to the printer.
Pleae note: Only "Fire OS 3.0 (Mojito) devices such as the Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX tablets support Printing from Kindle."

  • 6500 709n Wireless Problems

I have a new 6500 709n printer with Wireless networking.  It installed successfully the first time, and worked at first.  We have a couple access points in the area on the same network, and it seems some computers can not see the printer when it is on a different access point than the one the computer connects to.  Other computers can see it and ping it fine.  I am thinking that it has to do with the multi channel environment as we have each AP using a different WiFi channel.  Is there a way to "force" the channel on the 6500?  I have manually set the IP address on the printer so it is not pulling it from DHCP.  No other WiFi devices have this problem, just this new printer.
    It is very strange.

I'd like you to try and set a static IP address in the J6500. Browse to the printer's internal web page from a computer that can see the printer, select Networking, then Wireless then IPv4.
If you don't plan to turn off the printer, you can use the existing IP address and make it static (manual). Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask (or change this if you are using a different subnet mask). Use the 2WIRE's IP address for the Gateway. Finally, set Manual DNS server and use the Gateway address for this value.
Then check connectivity by trying to access the printer's internal webpage from all the computers on your network.

  • Printing problem splwow64

I have a printer HP 6500 E709N I am trying to use with windows 8.1 64 bits. While the fax and scan functions are working, I cannot manage to print anything (even the test).
When I try to print, I have a messager that no printer is installed on my computer (while I can see my HP printer in the control panel, and ticked as default printer).
If I try to see my printer parameters, I have the error box: "C:\Windows\splwow64.exe",with the exception code 0xc0000005 indicating a protection error.
Could someone help me with that?
    Thank you in advance

Hi there family23, Welcome to the Forums!
I saw your post about not being able to print from your Windows 8.1 system and Officejet 6500 unit.
I would like to know if the issue is solely happening in one program only (Example: Microsoft Office Word), or if you see the error when you try to print from everywhere (Example: Email, Webpages, Notepad, etc).
Please reply to let me know where exactly the error is and that will help target the problem.
In the meantime, try running the HP Print and Scan Doctor to find and fix common printer problems to see if this helps you.
Hope to hear from you soon!

  • HP6500 Printing Problems in IE9

My HP 6500 wont print in IE9 but does print from other programs.  It seems to be a recent problem.  Any suggestions?

    Hello,
I am not sure of why this is the case, but i found an article here which may be useful:
    http://www.ctimls.com/Support/KB/Error%20Fixes/Fix_Print_Problems.htm
    Internet Explorer 9 Print Issues
To speed up graphic performance, Internet Explorer 9 moves the rendering of web pages, images and web mail from your computer's Central Processing Unit (CPU) to your video card's Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) by default. If your computer's video card or video driver does not support GPU hardware acceleration, you may be unable to Print or view the print Preview of web pages or emails; printed colors may not match displayed colors; or printing may generate a script error (that may reference "URL: res://ieframe.dll/preview.js"). To resolve printing problems through IE 9, either (a) set your browser to use Software rendering instead of GPU rendering, or (b) update your printer driver to the latest version, or (c) re-register the ieframe.dll file in Windows.
To set your IE 9 to use Software rendering instead of GPU (hardware) rendering:
    Open Internet Explorer 9
Select Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab
Browse to the "Accelerated graphics" section
Check "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering"
Click Apply and then click OK
Close all open IE 9 windows to reset the rendering method.
To update your printer driver to the latest version, either go directly to the printer manufacturer's website, or select the appropriate article in the Related Articles at the end of this web page. (Note that IE 9 cannot be installed in Windows XP or earlier.)
To re-register the ieframe.dll file in Windows, click Start > in the Search bar type  regsvr32 ieframe.dll  > click the Enter key.
    Hope this helps.

  • 6500 wireless printer

I recenty purchased a 6500 wireless printer.  There is one major problem with this printer.  It goes to sleep after a period of time and the only way to wake it up is to physically go to the machine and wake it up.  You cannot do this wirelessly.  What is the use of having wireless if it truly isn't wireless.  I am returning this product.

If this is the Officejet 6500 the answer is yes.  You can download the drivers from HP here.  Select the appropriate Officejet 6500 model, then download the full featured or basic driver.  There may also be some updates which will apply to your situation.
