  • Matx mobo video out question?

    Hi folks.
I plan on purchasing a MS-6533EG mobo for a htpc project.
The spec shows "Complete TV-out/Digital flat panel solution and MPEG-2/1
        Video decoder"
Searches show a SIS301B add on card for this function.
There is no info (that i can find) as to how to get this card, or access tvout with the SIS651/962L chipset.
    Any info is much appreciated!

  • MSI-6533E 1.0 and Maxtor ATA 133 Hard Disks

I can't get those disks using UDMA 133 transfer
rate under Win2k; latest SiS IDE drivers installed, latest bios, but only PIO4 mode ( Win2k default )
    -Maxtor 6Y060L0 DiamondMax Plus 9 60Gb
    -Maxtor 6L040J2 DiamondMax Plus D740X 40Gb
To tech support: plz provide an updated BIOS!
Should I refer to MS-6533EG page for support?  ?(
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=353&MODEL=MS-6533EG
I've flashed BIOS to current 5.2 10-32-02, but it hasn't
    solved my problem yet.  :(
    TIA

     8) Subject summary.  The 6533 uses the 645 chip, 6533G uses the 650.  Those share drivers (AFAIK).  The 6533E is much different, having a 651 chipset.  I may be off a little on this so correct me, but it looks like:
    650 chipset = 400fsb
    651 = 533fsb
If you look at the physical chips on the board, and see a 651, you'll also see a 962 media i/o chip.
    650, you'll see 961....
If you have 650, then go with bios:
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/bios/bos/spt_bos_detail.php?UID=45&NAME=MS-6533
    651 users should have:
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/bios/bos/spt_bos_detail.php?UID=353&NAME=MS-6533EG
    and agp update:
http://download.msi.com.tw/support/dvr_exe/sisagp45.exe (which has the mode 6 fix for 133mhz)
The IDE driver at:  http://download.msi.com.tw/support/dvr_exe/SiSide45.exe broke my 133 and I had to repeat above.  This appears to be for the 650 and NOT 651.
I flashed, loaded xp generic ide detecting driver, then applied the agp driver, and voila mode 6 rock and roll!

  • MSI 6533eg_LM Won't Boot

I just bought and installed a new MSI 6533EG-LM Mobo.  Nothing displays when I turn on the computer.   The PSU, FANS and drives run but nothing is displaying or sounds beinig made.   I tried both on board VGA and VGA AGP Card.  I checked the CPU and heatsink and everthing looks good.   Also, I cleared the CMOS.   What else would you recommend that I do?
