6555 reminder alarm problem

I have a 6555 and when I set the Calendar the alarm rings the day after my setting

I expect I am being overly cautious but just a couple of points.
Is there any chance I would lose my contacts or pictures if I did the factory restore?
Also when I first purchased the phone I used my sim card from my old phone and had endless trouble sorting out my messages and a 'platform' and the little sign to come up to show me I had a voice message.
I seemed to spend hours on the phone to Orange and eventually got a half sensible operator who activated these options.
Is it possible that this restore would take me back to situation prior to contacting Orange?
Sorry for all this, but thank you.

  • 6120c & Outlook - reminder alarm problem

    Quick problem with appoinment alarms.
I have my appointments in Outlook on work PC.
I connect the 6120 to the PC and use Nokia PC Suite to sync it. This works fine and my diary appointments come to my phone calendar nicely.
HOWEVER on the PC I have set many all-day events. When they go to my phone, they come with a reminder alert set, for an all-day event this is 0600. So if I have a reminder such as "Rostered day off" I get woken at 6am to be told about it!
When I go to sync'd appointments on my phone, created in Outlook not ones created on the handset, there is no option anywhere to edit the reminder alarm – but the appointment shows a reminder icon is present!
In outlook, the work day is configured to start at 0800 so I had hoped that that would be the earliest alert time, but no.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Sorry to recover such an old post, but I suffer the very same problem and this is the only information I have found on the forums. I own a Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic with software v10.10, which is synced to Outlook 2010 using Ovi Suite 3.0.0.29. On every friend's birthday, I get woken up at 6am. I searched the forums, specially the Ovi forum, but this is the only reference I found and with no answer.
Is there any update on this problem? Or any configuration to be set in Outlook or the mobile, so alerts get delayed?
    Thanks for any help!

  • Lotus notes calendar one-way sync - reminder/alarm problem

    Hello Everyone,
I haven't found a proper answer to this so posting here. Hopefully I will get a quick answer from some of the experts here.
    BB Desktop Manager version: 5.0.1.37
    Device: Curve 8900 4.6.1
    Lotus notes version: 8.0.2
I use BIS with tmobile and have my gmail emails delivered to my device.
I am doing a lotus notes one-way calendar sync with my BB calendar. I am able to do this successfully. But the alarm & free/busy thing does not sync.
Even though I have alarm set in my notes which works perfectly and I see the notification 15 mins before the meeting on my PC. They don't show up in BB calendar. In BB Desktop Manager-> map fields, the notes 'notify me' is mapped to 'device alarm flag' but when I open the details of an entry that BDM is going to make in the accept/reject screen these fields are empty. I am using the default field mapping in the desktop manager.
All  reminder works for the entries that I create directly in BB. The device calendar reminder is set properly. No issues there.
What should I change in the desktop manager so that I get a reminder in my BB for the lotus notes entry?

    Hello ggap10,
You can try to enabled an advanced logging of the Calendar to see where the alarm flag is not populating.
KB01451 will guide you through the process to enable the logging.
If you need further technical assistance, you can call your service provider.
Thanks and have a great day!

  • Reminder Alarm Time on Blackberry is incorrect

When users create any appointment in calendar, as soon as the
acceptance is on his BB, the Reminder Alarm on the B pops up.
    -BB shows alarmtime = 58218655
-Only users on my secondary PostOffice have this problem.
-Appts are created on the PC (I have not tried creating one on the BB)
-It doesn't matter if its accepted on the PC or on the BB.
-Syncs appears fine for creating, reading, accepting, example:
when you read the appt on the BB, it syncs that action and it
shows up as 'read' (aka unbolded) in GW on the PC.
-Alarm time is only visible after its been accepted
-PC always shows Correct Reminder Alarm time = 5 min
I found a similar issue reported in this link:
Synch with Groupwise Causes alarms to be set at 12... - BlackBerry Support Community Forums
However, the solution there was confusing to me. "install 7.0.3 HP1" But do I install that on my BES server or the PC? It didn't say what version was on the PC originally. Currently I have 7.0.3 HP3 installed on the users PCs and on My Server.
    Please Help,
Should I downgrade my GW client back to HP1? On my BES server?
Is there a Post-office Setting I can check?
How can I verify what HP version I have installed on my Server components, such as my Post Offices? I believe I am running 7.0.3 on all components of my GW system.

  • Missed a flight due to Alarm Problem!

I don't know why apple didn't send out any warning messages to users about this issue. Apple really upsets me!

No, January 1st is NOT when the i Phone alarm problem hit -- Apple has known about this problem since it first showed up on iPhones in New Zealand in October. see this Apple Insider report from last November:
"The new support document [<http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3542>]*, published on Wednesday [11/03/10], comes days after Apple made headlines with an iPhone bug that caused repeating alarm clocks to go off late across Europe. The issue occurred because of a change from daylight saving time, and could repeat itself in the U.S. on Sunday when America concludes daylight saving.
Apple's documentation notes that users can resolve the issue by setting the repeat interval on an alarm to "Never." If users reset their alarm every day, the daylight saving bug will not affect them.
The support note says that after daylight saving ends in the U.S. on Nov. 7, users will be able to set their alarms to repeat again. The iOS issue affects the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G, as well as the fourth-, third- and second-generation iPod touch models.
In October, the same bug caused alarm clocks in New Zealand to go off an hour early. Apple said it was aware of the issue and had already developed a software fix, but it has not yet been released.
This week, Apple released the golden master of iOS 4.2, the next software update for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, to developers. Golden master status suggests that the software is finalized and a release to the public is imminent. It's possible that Apple could release the software update before this Sunday, allowing users who update their iPhone to iOS 4.2 to avoid the daylight saving bug."
*Apple Support doc: <http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3542> posted November 3, 2010, which said:
    "Symptoms
In some regions, shortly before or after the daylight saving time (DST) change, repeating alarms created in the Clock app may work incorrectly.
    Products Affected
iPod touch (2nd generation), iPod touch (3rd generation), iPhone 4, iPhone 3G, iPod touch (4th generation), iPhone 3GS
    Resolution
To resolve this behavior for existing alarms, set the repeat interval to Never. You will need to reset these alarms for each day you need them.
After November 7th, 2010, you can set your alarms to repeat again"
NB: This Apple Support doc was posted 11/03/10, and has not been updated since.
But the problem didn't "fix itself" on 11/07/10, after the DST change, and it didn't fix itself today, January 3, 2011 -- Apple's next promised date that the iPhones would "fix themselves," -- as both my daughter in CT, and my son-in-law in KC, KS can attest: their iPhone "wake-up" alarms both went off an hour late, in different time zones.

iPhone alarm clock glitch: Still not working; iOS bug FAIL
By Richi Jennings. January 3, 2011
Despite Apple's promise that it would fix itself by today, the iOS alarm clock glitch is still making pomaceous owners oversleep. iPhone and iPod Touch alarms stubbornly persist in not working due to yet another bug with alarms. In IT Blogwatch, bloggers rub their eyes in disbelief.
    From SkyNews, 01/03/11
An Apple spokeswoman released a statement to Macworld on Jan. 2 saying it was aware of the problem and that the alarm on the £499 ($773) handset would begin functioning normally again Monday.
However, the firm has yet to release a further statement on the problem.

    From PC Magazine: <http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2374971,00.asp>:
"iPhone Alarms Still Silent On January 3 "Self-Fix" Date"
"Just two days ago, we reported about a frustrating glitch for those using various permutations of iOS 4 on Apple's iPhones—specifically, an annoying bug that was preventing one's mobile alarm from ringing on either day.
"The bug allegedly only affected single alarms set for either January 1 or January 2. According to Apple itself, the company was aware of the issue and was advising users of a crafty workaround—setting recurring alarms for either day, which would bypass the issue for whatever reason. And according to said Apple spokesperson, the bug would allegedly go away on its own come January 3.
    Or so we all thought.
"Reuters is now reporting that some iPhone users are indicating that the alarm issue persists, a claim that's being slowly backed up by affected users' Twitter posts."

    By Hayley Tsukayama
Call it Y2K-11. When a bug kept iPhone and iPod touch alarms from sounding on Jan. 1 and Jan. 2, Apple suggested that those having trouble should set recurring alarms, and that the alarms would fix themselves by Jan. 3, the first work day of 2011."
    Yahoo News, UK & Ireland, 01/03/11: <http://uk.news.yahoo.com/22/20110103/ttc-uk-apple-asia-fe50bdd.html>
"Some iPhone users in Asia and Europe complained of malfunctioning alarms on the first working day of 2011, even after Apple reassured users that its phones' built-in clocks will work from Monday.
"Bloggers, Facebook and Twitter users complained they missed flights or were late to arrive at work, as the alarm built into Apple's iPhone failed to go off for a third straight day for some users."
    BBC: <http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-12104890> 10/02/11, updated 09:14 ET 01/03/11:
iPhone alarms hit by New Year glitch
Setting New Year single alarms was to no avail
A glitch on Apple's iPhone has stopped its built-in alarm clock going off, leaving many people oversleeping on the first two days of the New Year.
Angry bloggers and tweeters complained that they had been late for work, and were risking missing planes and trains.
Apple has acknowledged the problem and says it will be fixed by 3 January.
The reason has not been given but the glitch appears to affect single alarm settings on the iPhone 4 and earlier models with software updates.
“According to the company, the problem will resolve itself on 3 January, but that is two days late for many people”
    Jonathan Fildes
    BBC Technology reporter
A similar problem hit the iPhone alarm when the clocks went back in November, again causing many users to be late for work or for transport arrangements.
"We're aware of an issue related to non-repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2," Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison said in a statement quoted by Macworld.
"Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3."
    'Two days too late'
"BBC Technology reporter Jonathan Fildes says the problem is embarrassing for Apple, not only because of previous problems that came to light when the clocks changed, but because the company prides itself on the simplicity of use of its products.
"This seems like another simple error, but it cannot afford to have too many before its reputation becomes tarnished, he says.
"Apple should have learnt from that example and seen this one coming, he adds. According to the company, the problem will resolve itself on 3 January, but that is two days late for many people.
"More than 1.7m people around the world had bought iPhone 4 handsets by June 2010, in what was the company's most successful product launch."
    DEAR APPLE DISCUSSION GROUP MODERATORS:
This is not a rant, I'm simply reporting the news regarding the situation with the iPhone Alarm function as it stands this morning, 01/03/11. People claiming that this was a new problem as of 01/01/11 are simply wrong, as your own TS doc <http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3542> of November 03, 2010 clearly attests.
It would certainly be helpful to know the latest Apple timetable for the iPhone alarm problem to "fix itself," or if Apple has managed to come up with any workarounds, other than the third-party alarm clock apps that are available for the iPhone.
    Best of luck.

  • Why is it when you set a calender event in outlook 2010 (in UK) with a reminder alarm for 30mins prior) and have the iphone set to keep the appointment time relative to the local country time that you travelled to, the alarm time is still at uk time ?????

why is it when you set a calendar event in outlook 2010 (whilst i am in UK) with a reminder alarm for 30mins prior to the appointment time) and have the iPhone set to keep the appointment time relative to the new country time that i have travelled to (this works OK), the alarm time is still relative to the UK time and not in sync with the local country time like the main appointment is.
Does anyone know the answer please.

This has to do with the Time Zone Support selected in your phone. If you check in Settings>Mail, Contact, Calendars, there is a setting for Time Zone Support at the bottom of the page under Calendars. If that is turned to off, the calendar should support the local time. Because time is set to Automatic (since you say the time is correct on the iPhone), it is reflecting the local time. That information comes from the carrier, not the iPhone itself. You can check, however the iPhone says that if you turn off the Time Zone support, it should reflect in the local time. Do a test, if possible,  and see if that will do what you are asking.

  • E71 (S60) Calendar reminder alarm too long (1 minu...

Using an E71, but suspect this is an S60 issue:
Why does the Calendar reminder alarm last for an entire minute repeat the tone continuously until 60 seconds have elapsed? While other alarms like sms, email only invoke the tone once?
As an ex-Palm Treo user, I was used to being able to set the number of times I can repeat the tone (e.g. 1, 2 ,3 times).
How do I configure the phone such that the calendar reminder only triggers the (e.g. beep) tone, 2 or 3 times? I couldn't find any config on that. Is there any work-around or 3rd party software that can do this?

I also have this. My outlook calendar is the key and I like to have reminders. The fact that the alarm goes of during 1 minute sound is terribly annoying, I'd just like to have a reminder with a SMS-like sound, something I can customize at least (sound + duration + number of times it repeats...).
Anyone has info about this? I am using a E71 too.

  • Vivaz alarm problem

Ok so i bought a new Vivaz and because of my working hours i need 2 daily alarms. My problem is even though i press the stop key the alarm will repeat itself at random intervals, sometimes after 15 minutes other times after 37 or 23 minutes, one day the alarm repeated itself after 4 hours and 22 minutes i looked in the settings but i didn't find anything, i even reinstalled the phone software. And the second problem i have is that sometimes when i start the camera and want to make pictures it says that there isn't enough memory and i should stop some applications, but the camera is the only one that is running.
if anyone can help it will be gratly apreciated, thank you

even after updating the software the alarm problem remains ??

  • Alarm problem ios 8 malfunction

Since upgrading, my alarm won't go off. For years, I've kept my iphone on do not disturb and I still get woken up. My sounds setting is with the volume all the way up and the setting of Change w Buttons is off. At first I assumed it was a wifi problem because I deleted my stored music. So, yesterday I downloaded my wakeup song. Again, today no wake up. No vibration, even though the vibration is on. I haven't found any complaints about this bug. When I finally do wake up, the Alarm function is on the screen, but no vibration or song. Help!

Re: Alarm problem ios 8 malfunction
Yes, I have the same issue. Song only plays once and that's it. (mine is also iPhone 5s on iOS8)
The whole alarm thing on the iPhone is very substandard in that one actually has to find the right buttons/sliders when still half asleep and eyes and mind half closed. Impossible for me, so I still rely on my good old Nokia phone (no SIM card in it but it still does many functions without) as a reliable alarm. It beeps, I press Snooze and it repeats after 10 minutes etc. Easy!
I think the Apple guys should work a bit harder on this topic as I am sure many folks rely on their phone to wake them up. But it is too fumbly and unreliable which is not good enough for such an expensive product.

  • Reminder. Problem with sync

I have problem with sync my iPhone and MacBook Pro.
I have already made a check with the parameter and they're correct.
    For example.
Yesterday I have made a reminder on the iPhone for today, I have received the alarm, I have changed it on MacBookPro and I have discovered that on the iPhone there isn't the update.

    Hi ...
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud. Deselect the box next to Reminders then reselect it.
On your iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud. Switch Reminders off then back on.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

  • ICal alarm problem

I set alarms for most calendar events. They work fine if I have the computer turned on when the alarm is scheduled to go off. However, alarms will not show up if they are scheduled to go off when my Mac is not turned on. For example, if I set an alarm for tomorrow to go off at 10am (for an event later in that day), and I start up my computer at 11am, the alarm doesn't show up. I have the "turn off alarms when iCal is not open" box unchecked. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help.
The Entourage alarm will show all alarms that were due (or overdue) when I start up my Mac. I'm assuming that iCal should function the same way? Other than this alarm business, I prefer the Mac Mail/iCal/Address Book system, so I would like to continue using them.

Not really, as it works for other people. The next thing I would try is to make a new user, log on as that user, make sure that iCal and Scheduler are in the startup items, and create a couple of events with alarms. Shutdown and restart after the alarms should have fired and log in as the new user.
If the alarms fire, the problem is in some setting or file in your normal account. If not, it is something system-wide. Post back anyway. You can get rid of the new user again - some people keep a spare around for tests like this, but I think it is better for such tewsts to be run in a newly-created account.
I will be away for a couple of weeks, likely with no internet access, so I suggest you start a new topic with a summary of everything tried so far. Maybe someone else will spot something.

  • 5800 alarm problem

My phone has a problem with the alarm, it doesn't ring at the right time, sometime 2 min. late, sometime 15 min. late & sometime even 30 min. late.
I have upgraded the firmware of my phone from v21 to v31 formatted the memory card & the hard reset the phone before update & after update.
It was working properly before the firmware update, is this a problem in the new firmware, if so it needs to be fixed as soon as possible, cause I depend on my mobiles alarm to wake up fro office (currently using my wife phone fro that purpose)

The point is to change it and put something else there. Altering the snooze time has been known to put things like this right.
FWIW, I never had problems like this on V21 but I'm now plagued with them on V30 and then V31. The alarm goes off at the wrong time, the phone exits timed profiles late if at all, and scheduled backups happen only randomly. The firmware is buggy, there's no denying that.

  • Reminder syncing problems

Today I've been having issues with syncing reminders between my iPhone and iPad.   When I go into the Reminder (or Calendar) app, the spinning gear that indicates it's talking to the servers just spins forever.   Every once and a while it will complete and the reminders will sync, but it took me over 15 minutes of trying to sync a removed reminder between my iPad and iPhone.  About half that time was trying to get the IPad to sync and the other half to get the iPhone to sync.
It was working fine yesterday, but I don't see any issues listed on the iCloud status page.  I've read a few other reports, though primarily with Macs and not that many.   Is anyone else having this problem with iOS devices?

Is this spinning going on both of your devices? Are you using any other calendar or reminder apps conflicting with icloud? Does that problem persists more then few hours?
