6600 Slide with 16GB MicroSDHC card??

Look at the compatibility page here:
http://europe.nokia.com/products/accessories/all_accessories/memory-cards-and-cables/memory-cards/MU...
The 3600 and the 6600 fold are here, but not the 6600 slide. What does that mean? is it compatible with the new 16GB cards or not??
All this MicroSDHC compatibility issue is turning to be such a fiasco..

That's all the clarification I need. Right, off to buy a 16GB microSD card! Yippee!!!

  • SDHC microSD card 16gb work with Apple SD card reader

Is a 16gb MicroSDHC card able to be used to upload photos from my camera to my iPad Mini 2 using an Apple SD Card Reader? When I try, it says no photos found. I don't know if the problem is the card or the file structure on the card. The camera is a Samsung Smart Camera 2 and the file structure is DCIM>Camera>YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.jpg. I have seen on other posts that the DCIM sub-folder should be 8 characters and also that the photo file names should also be 8 characters plus ".jpg". Is the file structure the issue or the MicroSD card.
note that I have no problem with an  SD card written by a Nikon D90.

No that accessory is only compatible with the iPad models

  • Problems with Sandisk 16Gb microsdhc Class 2 in N8...

    Hello to you all..
Yesterday my 16Gb microSDHC died... I wanted to charge my phone and suddenly the phone freezes and it refused to turn back on. So I decided to eject the 16Gb card and gladly I managed to turn my phone back on. So the problem was the microSDHC card. I had tested it with my PC but no response..
This is my 2nd 16Gb card!! I never had problems with the standard 8Gb card..
So finally I went to the shop and returned the dead card and got a refund. So now I am back to my old 8Gb card and till now everything works fine.
But is there somebody else that had problems with a 16Gb microSDHC card in a N85 (particulary Sandisk)? Because I think the card reacted on some sort of Voltage level that he could not handle... Can this be possible?
Black Nokia N97, productcode 0585162 FW V20.0.19 NL and 8Gb microSDHC A-data card

    hi n97fanboy
The class thing is to do with the minimum write speed of the cards, and thus the class only describes "how good" a card is for the type of device the card is used with. Some devices require slower speed cards than others, some devices might require faster ones. Grschinon further up this thread indicated that class 2 may be too slow for the N85, and that it's minimum write speed is that of a class 4, which is the class of the micro SHDC card that the UK version of the N85 is supplied with. This makes sense.
However, the Nokia website states that the N97 and N85 is compatible with their Class 2 16GB card, but we're not sure that this is correct given the behaviour of Sandisk Class 2 16GB cards in the device (I've had one fried, and almost lost the second one). Personally I've gone back to the 8GB Class 4 supplied with the phone, and will try and find a larger class 4 or above card at a later date.
I'm sorry I can't help with the best card for the N97 as I've only played with the device in the Nokia Store. If it comes supplied with a microSDHC card, check for the digit on that card. If you do decide to upgrade it to a larger card, you should stick to the same class number it has or a larger one, from the experiences dkawa and myself have had with the N85. Best to try and get someone from Nokia's technical department's to confirm.

  • Unable to renew Nokia Maps license, 6600 Slide, SW...

Please can anyone help,. I have a Nokia 6600 Slide with the latest software (V6.55).  I was successfully using Nokia Maps GPS navigation having purchased a license key for UK/Ireland in January 2011.  I have an external bluetooth GPS device. Howver, the Maps license key has now expired (as expected, it was a 1-year licence).  Without a license I cannot use the voice-guided navigation function.
When I go throoug the phone menus to purchase a 1-year license again, I get to the menu that asks which payment method I wan to use (I select Visa). At this point the screen just refreshes, with no message or error code. I am not asked for payment card details. I cannot get past the "payment method" menu.
This process worked just fine for me in Jan 2011 when I first purchased a license, and other web browing functions using the built-in web browser are just fine.  I have tried refreshing the Nokia software (It was already at V6.55, which is the latest level).
I would appreciate any hints or tips as I really miss my in-car GPS navigation.

This is the bit that worries me as since Nokia stoped marketing their own Bluetooth GPS receiver support for devices without Integrated GPS has been steadily disappearing from firmware updates.
I last purchased a 1 yr. navigation license for my N95 in November 2011 via credit card.

  • Are 8gb microSDHC cards compatible with the E90?

I recently puchased a E90 and I would like to know if it is possible to use a 8gb MicroSDHC card.
    Thanks

SD and SDHC are two totally different technologies packaged inside the same kind of format. SDHC card readers are backwards compatible with SD cards, but SDHC cards cannot be read in a regular SD card reader.
One of the limitations of SD which led to the development of SDHC in the first place is the maximum capacity of 2GB. Therefore, if the specs of a phone say that it can read 4GB cards then it's fitted with an SDHC card reader and 4GB+ cards will be usable.
If the specs of a phone say that it can only accept cards of up to 2GB then it is fitted with a regular SD card reader and SDHC cards will not work. No amount of software upgrading will help because the hardware simply isn't there to handle SDHC cards.
Those SDHC-compatible phones that "max out" at 4GB might benefit from a firmware upgrade because this limitation is indeed software-related.
The reason why those 8GB SanDisk cards (I have one in my N95) come with a card reader is because that card reader is in fact an SDHC card reader. Most USB card readers available off the shelf for a few quid are not SDHC-compatible, so you won't be able to put your 8GB microSDHC card in an SD adapter, stuff that in one of those SD card readers and access it that way.

  • My Mac Mini and MacBook, both running Mountain Lion, say that a brand new 16gb SDHC card is not readable. What's going on? Is it the card?

I'm using a brand new SanDisk 16gb SDHC card and the moment I put it into the reader it says "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" with options to Initialize Ignore or Eject.
    Any thoughts?

    Hello people.
I cryied long enough, browsing the Internet looking forward to a solution for the same case you are stating here. That said, I do not want you to suffer any longer the way I did if you run out of solutions...
In my case, I was trying to copy images from my SD-HC 2 memory card (San Disk, 8GB) to my computer (Mac). I was using a chinese memory card reader (Kino, "Mini Multi in One memory card reader", model SY-682, USB 2.0). The memory card reader/hub used to work just fine before, but till recently it didn't...
I had a suspicion on my OS updating, since I used to copy images from this SD Card to my computer on a monthly basis (I used to have Mac OSX 10.6.8, and a technician recently changed my Mac's operating system to 10.7.5 or so, as far as I can detail... It wasn't a god job what he did, but anyway)...
My husband saw me crying in front of the computer after reading and chasing to a lot of Google searches, and what he did was simply this:
I used to put the memory card in the reader, and then plug the reader into the Mac's USB port... And it didn't work... Right?
He, instead, did it backwards: he plugged the memory card reader to the Mac's USB port and THEN slide the memory card into the slot of the memory card reader...
By doing this, you do not get to see the image of the memory card in your Mac's desktop, BUT: if you open a new Finder window, you will see the image of the memory card into the left margin of the window, right behind the "Devices" title... In my case, the memory card image just read "EOS_DIGITAL", as I use to take pictures with a Canon EOS camera...
Anyway, I hope this helps, and please replicate this answer to those in the same suffering I used to be till 15 minutes before.
    Good luck.

  • 6600 slide map files help

    Help... Please?!
I got my 6600 slide yesterday. I put my own 2gb memory card in and put the one which I got with the new phone into an older phone (6300). I notice in the memory card which came with the phone there is a folder called "cities" which has folders called 'voicefiles' and 'diskcache' inside..which then have even more folders with more folders/files! My question is...are these needed to make Maps work? I've tried selecting the folders to send via Bluetooth to my new phone but it says "unable to send selected items."
sorry if this is very basic or if I am repeating a question. I had a search on here and couldn't find any relevant info. Also I tested the maps app by putting in my postal code to view address but its a dull yellow page that comes up with the little globe timer just spinning all the time and not doing anything further!
PS I just spell checked this and I can't believe what word was suggested to replace "Diskcache"...I'm quite amused but surprised!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Start up the Maps application in the 6600 and allow it to connect to the internet, and the Cities folder structure will then be created on your new memory card. After this, you will need to use Map Loader (from www.nokia.com/maps) to install map and vice data onto the memory card. After this, everything will be back to normal.

  • Nokia 5310 (10.10) with 8GB microSDHC crashes when...

    Hi.
I'm using a 8GB SanDisk microSDHC card with my Nokia 5310 (newest firmware). Transferring files with Windows Explorer is no problem; when using the Ovi Player the phone frequently crashes after a while, mostly when there is more than 4 GB of data on the microSDHC card. Any attempt to put more files on the phone after that will lead to an almost instant crash.

  • Sudden Shutdown of iMacs with 16GB of RAM

An ongoing discussion of iMac shutdowns over at Apple Discussion has prompted me to try to get some answers to this issue that we too are seeing in one of our i5 iMacs with 16GB of 3rd Party RAM.
    http://discussions.apple.com/messageview.jspa?messageID=13311466&stqc=true
Recently we found that the issue could be repeated when transforming a layer in Photoshop CS5. Dragging the image around, resizing it a few times will consistently cause a sudden shutdown of the machine. Not a standard shutdown or kernel panic, but an instant off to black screen. The machine will boot right back up with no problem.
Further, we also found that this would occur when the Photoshop tile cache size was set to 128k. Setting it up to 1024k seemed to get rid of the issue and we were never able to recreate the issue when set to 1024k tile cache.
Now I would think to blame Photoshop, but it happened in CS4 and CS5. It also has happened in other apps as well. It just so happens that Photoshop
is doing something that exacerbates the issue and triggers it.
Now, my question is this. And it is rather technical in nature, so if any Adobe techs are reading this, I would love your take on it.
I'd like to know what is going on in terms of data exchange between, RAM, video card or swap space when an image is being transformed.
Does the change in the tile cache size change how large the chunks of data are that are cached to the video card as well?
I'm wondering what the change in tile cache size could possibly be changing that could alleviate this issue.
There are also a number of reports that say removing 4 or 8 GB to leave 12GB or 8GB configs alleviates this issue as well. Do machines with smaller RAM configs exchange data in different size blocks?
I hope this all makes sense. Any info would be appreciated.
    Scott

Not a standard shutdown or kernel panic, but an instant off to black screen.
That means that you have a hardware problem, probably in the RAM, but possibly in the motherboard.  (having inadequate power supply to the RAM is a common problem that causes this - could be a bad capacitor, or a bad design)
An Apple technician should be able to put a scope on the power and signal pins of the RAM and see the problem happen (looking for a capacitive discharge pattern in the signals, dropping below signal threshold).
Changing the tile and cache size just changes the RAM access pattern slightly, but doesn't affect GPU usage much.
Yes, Photoshop moves a lot of data in and out of RAM with highly optimized code - which tends to expose problems with the hardware sooner than other applications.

  • IMac not recognising Sandisk 16GB SDHC card

    Hello everyone
having real difficulty downloading to iMovie content from my Canon Vixia HF100. The Sandisk VideoHD card I purchased will not under any circumstances be recognised by my iMac running 10.5.5. I even purchased a dedicated SDHC reader, but still to no avail. The only way, and then after much messing about, to get the video off the card is to directly connect the camera to the computer.
Has there been any issues with this card that anyone knows of? Should I go back to a standard 16GB SDHC card?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

"The only way, and then after much messing about, to get the video off the card is to directly connect the camera to the computer."
    That is the recommended procedure.

  • 6600 slide update problem

I made a huge mistake couple of days ago, I tried to update firmware on my 6600 slide, since I now have a new phone and I want to give this one away. Anyway, update failed (this happened last year, too, but I found a solution somewhere, I can' t remember where, unfortunately), and now I can't switch phone on. I found some related topics here and followed the procedure with removing and inserting usb cable, adapter and battery, my computer finally succeeded and picked it up as "new hardware installed and ready to use", but Nokia Software Updater can't see it, I tried more than 10 times. Can someone, please, help me, and give me some kind of advice what to do, I would be really greatful. I'm so frustrated, I wish I never tried to update.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much more to do. I reckon you have tried to pull the battery out for 1-2 mins and given it another shot to see if it can connect with ovi suite or NSU? In case it won't you will have to take it to a Nokia care point.
To me it sounds like the update installation has gone that wrong and it's nothing else to do.

  • NB200 - Not reading 16GB SDHC card

    Hi,
When I insert SDHC into the NB200, autoplay starts up but then just keeps running on a loop and the mixed content box appears. Occasionally I've managed to see what's on the SDHC card if i click on 'view files' in the contents box but not always and even then autoplay just starts up again.
Now I may be stupid but it's ok to use an sdhc card in an SD adapter? Does it have to be of the same make? I've downloaded both the hotfix and the sd reader driver but neither seem to work. PLEASE HELP!!!
    THANKS
    simon

    Hi chuckles123,
Have you checked the user manual if your notebook supports 16GB SHDC card? This should be done firstly before you do such things
If your notebook supports such cards, update the card reader driver and try different cards. By the way, which 16GB card is it exactly? I have good experience with SanDisk cards, never had problems with them.

As for drivers, you can always use the original drivers that came with your PC and then do an update if necessary.
