Experimented w video recording and find I can only record to phone memory (short 9 second clip) - not to memory card.
Is there a way to record longer clips straight to the memory card?

Nokia Lumia 1520 video recording on Microsd card i...

First off, I have a Nokia Lumia 1520 for about one month now. I love the screen size and everything. My picture/video recording to phone memory works fine. I have recently purchased a Class 10 Sandisk Pixtor 64GB microsd card from Best buy for video/pictures storage due to this device having only 16GB of memory.

Picture taking is fine writing to this card. However, I noticed that on all video recording mode (720p to 1080p), the video would sometimes skip and lose a few frames here and there. For example, when i try to record a video of a kid running, the video playback will show the kid run across but would jerk or freeze a bit during his run (almost like the phone is too busy doing other tasks during recording). Playing the same videos on a computer show the same result which means the video taken were bad to begin with. My temporary fix is to switch video/picture recording to the phone storage itself but that defeats buying the sd card in the first place.
Anybody else having this issue? I couldn't find another microsd card to test but i wonder if the phone itself is having a performance issue with sd cards in general. Should i engage with tech support from Nokia?

It is quite well known that Class10 card are overkill on a mobile phone and in many cases have been proven to actually have worse performance when compared to even Class4 cards.
Class10 cards really only make sense in (high end) DSLR ca,eras where itis a requirement the shots can be written to the card fast. In practical use the class only indicates the card cab sustain a transferrate of X MB/s and with that in mind a Class4 card even will be plenty fast for your mobiel phone.
Due to the fact a Class10 card is basically overspec for the hardware it may even cause timing issues.

Photoshop Elements 9 Downloader crash with video clips on memory card

I have a Canon SX30IS. When I use PSE9 to download from memory card, if there are any videos present on the card, the Photo Downloader crashes.
I believe that it is something to do with Apple Quicktime. When I uninstall Quicktime , PSE downloader does not crash while importing media form this camera, but cannot play video clips. On reinstalling Quicktime , the PSE downloader crashes while searching the memory card for media.
I have not upgraded PSE twice now because of this crash. What makes it worse is that Apple Quicktime is a very poor media player, managing about 2FPS on the video clips from this camera when both the Canon and the VLC video codecs can manage 30FPS.
I would much prefer if I could choose to use a video renderer, like using any available Windows codecs rather than insisting on using annoying Apple software.

Please let me know the mode in which camera/card reader is connected to the system (USB/PTP/MTP). This can be determined from camera.
Please try to follow:
1. Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\PhotoDownloader.exe.
2. Right click on 'PhotoDownloader.exe' and select 'Properties'.
3. Naviage to 'compatability' tab and click on 'Run this program in comptability mode for' and select 'win xp service pack 3'.
4. In the same dialog, click on 'Run this program as an admin' under 'privelage level'.
5. Now run the: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe as an administrator.
Please let me know if you face any issues in following the steps.

How can I move downloaded video to my memory card.

I have downloded some videos using "you tube downloader" and "UC Browser". The videos are saved in the application itself so that they occupy space in phone memory. I want to move these videos files to my memory card. Can anyone tell me how to do that.
Second thing I am unable to access these videos on my PC operating on OS windows 7. Can anyone tell me how to access these videos on PC.

Once I have tried that and you know ,what happen.It automatically converts the video file into a mp3 file of same size.
so when i am going to play that file in my phone it plays the file as a mp3 file only sound appears.
However when I plays that file on my PC than it is alright and plays like a video file (sound and video both appears.)

4k video recording and microSD card speed

Hello, I am currently trying to find what microSD card type Xperia Z2 needs to shoot 4k videos smoothly. Is UHS Speed Class 1 (U1) card with about 30 MB/s writing speed enough to shoot 4k videos with no problems at all? I am just asking if Sandisk Ultra series are enough and should I bother with Sandisk Extreme for example with 45 MB/s writing speed or with Xperia Z2 4k video recording I won't see any difference?

Sending videos saved on memory card

How do i send videos from my lumia 625 saved on my memory card, as it seems i can only send videos i have recently made. Any help would be most appreciated :-).

thru bluetooth, if it doesnt work thru there then it cannot be done mate. of course sending thru MMS cannot be done if they are large sized videos due to size constraints.

Why can't I import my video from my memory card?

I have the sandisk ultra 16gb memory card and i film videos for youtube and recently when i have tried to import my longer videos like around 6 mins and longer loit says "iPhoto cannot import your photos because there was a problem downloading an image." and it is really annoying cause that means that i can't upload to youtube

so that i can edit the movie on iMovie then upload to youtube!

am using nokia e5,it was working all well but few days before i tranferred files from laptop to my cell(images) using Mass Storage option by data cable.soon after that images and videos saved in memory card is not visible on phone.test mesgs and music files are visible but phone isnt showing my images and video files which ive recievd through bluetooth and saved in memory card.why is this so???plzzz help me am in mess cant help it

Welcome to the forum! I tried to transfer pictures via bluetooth and they were saved to gallery like they should. Please try the following actions and between them test if it works.
Firstly please make a back up with Nokia Suite. Then type in *#7780# = soft reset, no data lost.
If it's still the same, type in *#7370# = hard reset, the phone memory will be wiped. Restore back up. You can also try to make the back up without settings and then format and restore.
Reinstall the software. The process is the same when updating, but at the end select "reinstall".
Hope you get the device working again, please let me know if this is not the case.

If you haven't used the memory card at all it may be recoverable.
Seach for undelete or similar tools for Windows, then connect the memory card to windows and use the software to try to recover.
It may not be possible though. And sometimes even if you recover it it may be corrupted, e.g. some bits will be missing making the file unplayable.

C5-00 5 mp video recording freeze

i got my phone about 2 months ago. it worked fine for about a month, and then, just like that, it started to freeze in the middle of the recording for about 2-3 secs, then started rec ok, and agaian freezed for 2-3 secs and so on. After i downloaded the movie and played it, it played the same as the recording(with the freezed sections, but with sound).
I checked the sw version(the last one), i changed the card, i formatted it.
The problem(for now) is solved by taking down the recording quality, but i dont want this to be a permanent solution.
Anyone got a better one?

I have exactly the same problem.
I will add that record to memory card and internal memory behaves the same way.
The only way is to reduce video quality which is already not very good.
I have just upgrade to the latest firmware 181.003. Nothing has changed.
Any ideas
UPD: The problem seems to be in memory fragmentation and slow access speed. Have to use more quality/speed memory card class 6 or higher.

N8 restarting during video recording

Guys i need help.My n8 restarts 5 out of 10 times i record video.My friend told me to re-install firmware but i donot know how to do it.

Are you saving the recording to memory card or mass storage? If memory card, I suggest saving to mass storage and see if the problem recurs. If it doesn't then suspect you memory card is the problem..

HD VIDEO RECORDING

does anyone have any problems finding the videos in the memory card or in the phone storage after recording them? i can only seem to get to it from the phones video player. i used Astro file manager and not even that can find it! took the memory card out and tried it in my computer and nothing? whats funny is that my TV CAN find it, but it just doesnt play the audio bc it doesnt support the codec. doesnt show up as hidden files, either. im guessing it has to be related to the froyo update. i got it less than a week ago.
if anyone knows how to fix it, let me know..

Ahhhhh.....found it. Open the gallery and go to your videos. Long press the clip you are looking for and touch "details." It will give you the last path of the directory. I use qik and mine are in that dcim folder under "camera." I guess when I use qik it saves it to a different spot because the older pics and vids are in that dcim/media folder.

Gallery unable to access images in memory card

Hi! I am using E71 and recently I find that Gallery can't access the images and videos in the memory card. Images in Phone Memory is accesible. I can access those files from File Manager though. Does anybody know how to fix this? Would appreciate any help.

It's difficult because neither Nokia nor third-part app producers make these things obvious to the casual observer.
There is a way to get around this, but it's long-winded:
(1) Delete the first folder in Private
(2) Check if the gallery is OK.
(3) If not, restore 'user files' from your backup then delete the next folder and try again.
This will allow you to find the relevant file that is causing the issue but leave everything else intact.
