6680 Not Restoring Contacts

I put tom tom on my brothers phone the other night, but first I updated the firmware to the latest version, but before all of this I made a full backup of the phone, I selected to backup the whole phone and memoery card. It backed it up and got to 100% and then finished so I hit close and then opened the nokia update to flash it.
After flashing it I did a restore, but for some reason it didnt restore the contects, it restores everything else, photos, videos, the memory card, messages etc etc, but NO CONTACTS .
As you can imagine my bro is now pretty p155ed off. I have tried about 3 times now wiping the phone and restoring from backup, it does it fine each time and completes but no contacts seem to want to appear with everything. Does anyone know why this is, or if no if there is a way to extract the contacts from the backup file on the pc ?.

I used the latest version of pcsuite to my pc using content copier, I have tried resetting and doing it again with no joy . It is restoring onto the same phone, im not restoring it to another one, its the same phone that has just had the firmware upgraded. The contacts must be in the backup file somewhere, its just trying to retrive them .

Hi all im not sure if anyone else has the same problem but for some reason every time i try to restore a backup from my Nokia 6300 that I have just made it doesn’t seam to full work.. Everything else will restore except my contacts. If I restore my contacts I get a error msg saying Connection to the phone was lost. Reconnect your phone and restart the restoration..
Yet when I restore my contacts from a old 6230i phone I backed up 3months ago it seams fine..

Is there any other way I can backup my contacts…
Also I have noticed some of my applications have now been moved into a different folder on my memory card.

Ok, so I reinstalled the software, and so far it seems to be working 90% better. I can add contacts, and they seem to store on the computer AND phone better. One contact would not send, had to delete it and recreate for it to work, but was able to get it to the phone.
So I won't delete the original post, maybe someone else will have similar problems. Hopefully I won't be back to edit this response once I get to 10 or 15 numbers.

Time machine not restoring contact!

Some contact phone numbers were accidentally deleted. So, I go to one of them, then click the time machine button in the dock. Time machine comes up, so I browse back until that contact's phone number reappears. I click restore, and it restores. The phone number doesn't come through though.
So, repeat the process and review duplicate. When I do, the phone number isn't listed in the update. Even if I tell it to keep both, the new/old one are identical and do not have the phone number. I can see the phone number in the time machine backup -- right there on the screen, but clicking restore doesn't bring any old info that's different than what I already have in the current contact.
What am I missing?

That's likely the problem. Backing-up damaged or corrupted data won't magically fix it!
I tried the normal upgrade without erasing the disk but unfortunately most of the trash was still there, so I had to star over from a clean disk.
Try repairing the backups, per #A5 in [Time Machine - Troubleshooting|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/Troubleshooting.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum). Depending on exactly what's wrong, that might help.

I just updated my iphone 4 to ios 7. But after updated, it wont restore my contacts or pics from backup thru itunes.
Not sure what else to do. I tried to reboot and restore again but still got the error.

Your phone is in "recovery" mode, which means you data on your phone is already gone. You have no other choice but to restore your phone. If you've not been backing up regularly and importing your photos to your computer for safe keeping as is strongly recommended, then you've learned a very hard lesson.

E7 not restoring contacts after Anna

I got an E7 and started using it. After a while, I synced it all to OVI Suite, took a backup, and installed Symbian Anna. Previous to this I had set up MfE in a (futile) attempt to sync two-way with Google's services (downlink worked, but towards Google it didn't).
Okay, at the Anna update, the phone was cleared of my contacts (and maps etc), so I thought I'd sync again. Well, that didn't help one bit (perhaps now contacts were removed from the OVI Suite because I don't see them there anymore). So I restore a backup - and now I have no contacts at all on the phone. What the hell is happening? I seem to have three backup files on the pc, I've tried two of them and the third is so small that I doubt my contacts are there.
Nokia, how hard it is to guess if a user wants to have his contacts cleared or not? Seriously guys?

If you had the contacts as Google contacts, you wouldn't have needed to install a third party app to restore the contacts.

On re-installing your OS did you go through everything? Some of the apps can only be installed when upgrading, updating and re-installing your OS, try to "upgrade" it. Select the version on your phone and go through every next step reading through and selecting the apps you want on your device.

BBM does not restore contacts on Pearl 9105

I uninstalled BBM on desktop software when my dp refused to change. also backedup before uninstalling It.
I have reinstalled it but my contacts are nowhere to be found.
I have also noticed that I cant find Blackberry Messenger on the 'Applications' folder on my desktop Software.
Help Urgently needed.

Which version of BlackBerry Messenger you have on your device ?
If it is BBM7 then all contacts are stored with our BlackBerry ID , so on your device be sure that you have login with your BlackBerry ID.Or refer to those Article :

Restore don't restore contact, etc on my 6233! :(

hi, can some one please help me.
I backed up my 6233 using the latest version of PC suite (everything was backed up without problem).
When i tried to restore everything back, after the nokia service centre updated the firmware on my phone from 3.9x to 4.91, it won't restore the contacts, messages, callender or bookmarks (all the important stuff), so it's completely useless, the only thing it restored is the user files which i could not care less about!
Please help me, as i NEED my contacts at the very least!!

i swear i looked at that thread, must have skipped page 2 by accident...just my luck!
that prog should be made more easily available and as a stickey on here...would solve a lot of ppl's probs...and cut down on a lot of ppl asking about it!!
btw is there any way i can restore callender and messages? or at least view callender from the backup file so i can restore manually!

Restore Contacts and Calander

I was cleaning up my MBP to sell and deleted my contacts list and calander events from the computer. Well it deleted it from iCloud, my iMac and MBA. Contacts lis is still on my phone, any way to restore contact and calanders now? Any help would be great.

Phone is suppose to back up to the icloud, but there is nothing in the icloud. I have Time Machine as me main backup, but was unable to restore contacts, said that could not restore contacts because it was part of the OS and not availabel.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then tap Settings > General > Software Update
No data is lost due to a reset.

When I was updating my child's ipod touch with itunes....it put the ipod in recovery mode and said I would need to restore and then update....which was my only option to choose, so when I chose restore & update....after going thru it seemed the process, then a window came up that stated the ipod couldn't be restored at this time because the ipod software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable and to try again. After trying this several times unsuccessfuly and going thru the steps on the help section, the ipod is still not able to restore & update, thus we can't access anything on our very new ipod touch and I am very frustrated, can't afford any Apple support tech time. I got a new ipod touch for Christmas.
Today I was going to put music on it, i was told there was updates.
So I went ahead to do them.
My Ipod is stuck on the screen with the usb cord pointing to the itunes logo.
In Itunes i'm told :

Turning the ipod off - the same screen appears when it's back on.

I've been looking up trying to figure it out myself and have read making sure a setting in Lan Settings in Internet Properties has ; Automatically detect settings checked. I still get the same ipod message.

I installed itunes today, so its up to date - I checked.
I don't know what else to do.
