6681 Backlight on Keyboard

I do not have any backlight on the keyboard when I activate any of the keys, making texting or dialling very difficult at night.
The keyboard only lights up briefly when I plug in to charge, when a call comes in or I half press to OFF switch. It does not light up when I press a key.
I believe I have tried all the backlight / display options available.
Any suggestions on how to fix.

I wonder did it ever work !!
If you have checked out the menu sections in thre handsert and the keyboard light is still not coming on then the 1st thing to do is a factory reset using 12345 in the security menu which will return the handset to thr factory settings , and this will delete any downloaded data.
If this fails to help then u will need to take it to a nokia repair centre.

  • Problem with backlight on keyboard. Mountain Lion.

    Hi 2all.
I have some problem. I have MacBook Pro (early 2011), i7. Some days ago I upgrade my MacBook OS to Mountain Lion (clean install). In Snow Leopard I can turn off the backlight of keyboard, and then it will be off. If I need it, I turn it on. But now I have another situation. I turn off my backlight, but after log off user, or restart MacBook backlight of keyboard turns on... Whats happen?!
    Thx fo help.
    Best regards,
    Kyros.

Lab Tick is a shareware menu item that gives you complete control over the keyboard backlight. You can set the level of illumination by hand, and electively disable automatic adjustments made by the OS.

  • How to backlight my keyboard?

Got a Macbook Air and I have tried to find how to backlight my keyboard. Under preferences - keyboard it does not offer me the option of backlighting. So how do I find out and where can I switch it on? Thanks for any help

Looks like I can answer my own question. My MBA not only cannot backlight the keyboard - major disadvantage for me - it neither offers the option of ambient light adjustment.
Dropping those features consumes more of my time - I make more mistakes typing (and yes, I can type 'blind' but since I'm typing on a 'English' keyboard that has to be set up for German typing, I sometimes have to able to quickly see the keys properly to remember which key is which in German) and have to adjust the brightness. I switched form Windows because I was tired of wasting my time - so this is certainly annoying when Apple is doing that too - for no good reason as far as I can see.
Please Apple, do give me and other users enough credit. We really are intelligent enough to turn features on and off when we want them. Just taking them out will make me wonder what I will have to do without when buying Apple next time around. This is the wrong way of saving energy or whatever the excuse is! I don't think I would have bought the MBA without backlight if I had known. It is just too timeconuming for me.

  • N97 Auto Rotate and Backlight of Keyboard

Normally the backlight of keyboard will turn on when the keyboard is open and screen will auto rotate. However, the following situation will trigger the backlight of keyboard when the keyboard remain close:
    1. Auto-rotate display: On.
    2. Sensors: On.
    3. Then turn the phone so that screen rotate from portrait to landscape.
This happen on my N97 with firmware 21.0.045.
    Is it a bug?

how do you see back light on actual keyboard when you don't slide it out? the device is close up and i can't see on the keyboard so i can't notice if there is back light on keyboard when screen rotate vis versa from landscape mode to portrait mode. I have
    1. Auto-rotate display: On.
    2. Sensors: On.
    3. Then turn the phone so that screen rotate from portrait to landscape and i can see any lighting through the slider.
Nop it's not a firmware bug.

  • Mid 2010 MacBook Pro no backlight following keyboard spill.

I am new here.  Can I get help with a mid 2010 MacBook Pro?  It appears to have a LED backlit screen.  A keyboard spill left me with a display problem.  In bright light at the right angle you can see that the display is still working, but there is zero backlighting available.  I have replaced inverters on other machines in the past with this problem, but they were not LED backlit.  I think this problem is different.  Can someone give me a clue what to do to fix this please?  Thank you!!!

I wouldn't be concerned with the backlight.
    Spill Cleaning
Some liquid has just spilled into your Mac. What should you do?
    Do
Immediately shut down the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer's battery (if you can)
Disconnect any peripherals (printers, iPods, scanners, cameras, etc.)
Lay the computer upside down on paper towels to get as much liquid as possible to drip out.
Note what was spilled on your Mac.
Bring the computer into an Apple store or AASP as soon as possible.
    Don't
Don't try to turn it back on. Liquids can help electrical current move about the components of your Mac in destructive ways.
Don't shake the computer (this will only spread the liquid around).
Don't use a hair dryer on it (even at a low setting a hair dryer will damage sensitive components).

  • Screen backlight and keyboard backlight not working

Yesterday I turned on my old but proud PowerBook17" and the *screen was black*, but you could barely see everything. *Also keyboard backlight is not working.*
I read many many forums and all say that black screen caused by inverter failure, but in my case keyboard lighting is also dead, so I wonder *if this is something different* and not the inverter.
I would appreciate any advises or ideas cause I love this machine..
    Thank you in advance!

Same problem here.  I initially thought the auto-brightness problem had been fixed in 10.7.3, but sadly it hasn't. The auto-brightness works when the Mac starts, but I find it loses control and fails after wake from sleep.
I have telephoned AppleCare several times but they are not aware of this bug.  They think a PRAM reset cures it, but it doesn't.  As soon as the machine goes to sleep then auto-brightness fails on wake.
I have used the Apple Form to report the bug.  It might eventually get fixed if others would kindly report it as well please.  Here is the link:

  • Backlight on keyboard yoga 2 not working

just bought yoga 2 and backlight on keyboad won't work.  Tried the Fn and spacebar with no luck.  Anyone have any other hints on how to fix??

    hi Tohid,
    Welcome to the Forums.
In addition to what indest have said, when you turn ON the machine, is the keyboard backlight turning ON? Also, is this a Yoga 2 Pro. Yoga 2 11, or Yoga 2 13?
If the keyboard backlights doesn't turn on during boot-up then you most likely have a non-backlit keyboard. To verify this, look it up on the Parts Lookup page:

  • Backlight on Keyboard and

    Hi All!
I've got a couple of questions about the "backlight" on the Curve 83330.
I notice that at certain intervals the light on the QWERTY keyboard automatically goes out.
What is the easiest way to either return the light back to it's normal state, or maybe set the amount of time before the light goes out?
    Also,
The backlight also gets "dimmer" after a certain period of time.
How can I regain the brilliance of the backlight after this "dimming" has taken effect?
Can I also "set" the time it takes before this feature kicks in as well?
    All suggestions are welcome.
    Thank you,
    Wrightsounds

  • Backlighting on keyboard

i have a 2009 macbook 13-in titanium and i want to know if my computer comes with backlighting for the keyboard. my f5 and f buttons do not have commands either which i know on the newer models that is where the backlight is programmed to.
    thanks!

The aluminum MacBook was introduced in Oct. '08 and discontinued in June '09 when it was rebranded as the 13" MacBook Pro. There were 2 aluminum models: 2.0GHz without backlit keyboard and a 2.4GHz with backlighting.

  • PB-backlight in keyboard or upper case?

Unfortunately, I didn't get too much feedback on my last post ( Florian Duenzen, "PB-keyboard / replacement part numbers", 04:40pm Sep 26, 2005 CDT), so I'll try to make it a bit easier with this one:
Is the backlight of the recent PowerBook revisions (including the last one) part of the keyboard itself or is it soldered to the upper case? I could not make it out in pbfixit.com's pictures, and my PB is still under Apple Care warranty, so I can't take it apart myself to check it.
My keyboard is broken and I have to figure out, what service part I can use to replace it. Of course, I would like to go for the brighter backlight from the latest revision, if it is indeed soldered to the keyboard and compatible with my revision (see signature).
    Thanks a lot,
    Florian.

Don't know if i get you exactly, but if you want to check case-insensitive, you could do:
    SELECT count(*)
    FROM my_database
WHERE UPPER(user_id) = UPPER(:my_database.user_id);Be aware that any index on user_id will not be used with this approach.
