6700 slide broken picture links

The other day I plugged my phone into my computer, transferred all pictures from it, then deleted them all from the phone memory (through the computer, not the phone itself). After that, when I go into the gallery it still says I've got 141 pictures, but when I open the folder there are nothing but broken links there. It's almost as if the thumbnails aren't updated with what's really on the memory card. See the attached image (poor quality but you get the idea).
So far I've tried restarting, formatting the memory card, restore the phone to factory defaults and reinstall the phone software through OVI suite but the broken links are still there.
Is there any way to update the thumbnails manually, or does anyone have another suggestion? Thanks for any input!

Yes they were on my memory card. When I remove the card I can't go into the memory card by the file browser.
Tried removing the battery, no effect...
I tried adding some pictures and removing them, now I have 3 more broken links. When I remove the pictures from the phone though, they disappear. It's as if it goes wrong when I try to remove the pictures through the computer rather than on the phone itself.

Dear friends,
My parents' 6700 slide, when set in Spanish language, will store camera pictures at /Images/Cámara ("a" with an accent). But when the phone is connected by USB cable to my printer, the printer won't "see" that directory, showing no pictures at all.
I see that if I change folder name to "Camera", the printer will see it correctly, but then, the phone will create a new empty "Cámara" folder, and storing there all the new pictures.
I know setting the phone in English lang creates the folder "Camera" without accent, but when reverting to Spanish, it keeps on storing at the Cámara (spanish) folder.
My parents can't use the phone in spanish, and it's very disappointing to then not to be able to plug the phone to the printer and print some snaps
Do you know how could I change the storage folder name? Any "hidden setting" or trick?

Using Reference Mode and checking for broken alias links

I use iPhoto 09 in reference mode (where it doesn't import the pictures into the library). I'm aware of the pitfalls of doing this but, long story-short, it's better for my needs this way. I just wanted to know if there's a way to tell iPhoto to check for missing photos or broken alias links. It seems to just pop-up randomly some time after moving or deleting anything and I'd rather take care of business when it's convenient for me not for iPhoto. I don't move my pictures very often but when I do I want to be able to re-link them immediately and not wait for iPhoto to randomly ask me and then I don't know what album or date the picture is from that its asking me about. Thanks in advance!

I thought you were aware of the pitfalls of running a Referenced Library One of which is that if you move the files iPhoto will lose track of them.
Unfortunately, iPhoto has no mechanism for checking the integrity of the links - another reason I would not use iPhoto in Referenced Mode.
You could try use an app like [FileBuddy|http://www.skytag.com> to check and repair broken aliases. However, if you continue to manage your files without reference to iPhoto then you will continue to have problems.

"Broken chain link" icon appears when trying iTunes store

It's really slow going trying to reach the store right now. When I do, I get all these broken chain link icons in place of pictures. Also, my podcasts are loading in a lightning-fast 45 minutes each. This is a fairly new developement, it's been about a week now. I can't find much helpful info around the forums so far. Anyone?

I have a few questions since most likely we will have to figure this out on our own. I have this problem occur a few times in a day however it is random.

Vista Ultimate 32bit
Antivirus: Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0
Web browswer: Exporer 8.0.6
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 9600GT
Ram: 4GB
Genius Settings: off
Itunes View: Cover Flow
Keyboard / Mouse: Logitech bluetooth MX5500
I have also experienced very sluggish performance with itunes store browsing/serach and have yet to figure that out. It started with Itunes 7
If we can find a common issue we may be able to figure this out as a group.

How do I backup the data on my 6700 slide?

I have a 6700 slide, and I have problems with the memory. The phone says the memory is full, even though I removed all the files I can, and cleared the cache in the internet browser. When i remove things the amount of memory doesn't change at all. Now I can't take photos, and I can't put any music in my phone at all, it's very frustrating!
I read that it could be a good idea to hard reset the phone to free up memory. But then I'll need to do a backup on my data, but how do I do that?
It's basically the contacts i need to backup, since I sort of removed all the other files....
I'm using a Mac, so I can't use the PC suite program.

Download the Nokia Suite from here and install on your PC.. Connect the phone to PC and open OVI Suite.. Go to Tools --> Back-Up and follow instructions.. For added safety use the 'SYNC' function too.. and the Data will get Synced with the Nokia Suite. Other than the Contacts.. you may Sync the Messages, Photos, Music also...

6700 slide - keeps trying to connect to internet

I recently bought the nokia 6700 slide and have been having the same problems as others, with the screen saver etc
One which I haven't seen coming up before though is that at random times a display box comes up on my screen asking whether to connect via O2 WAP or O2 internet, even when I'm not using the internet or not even touching the phone! I'm not sure if it's some fuction on the phone that is trying to connect or what.
It wasn't bothering me that much until this morning when my alarm didn't go off. When I looked at my phone the little display box was on the screen and only when I cancelled that did the alarm go off. A text message also came in when the display box was cancelled, although it had been sent an hour earlier.
I can't really rely on the alarm function until I get this sorted out so if anyone has any tips, they'd be much appreciated!

Problem with 6700 slide Gallery

Hi all,
I bought 6700 slide last week. I have updated the firmware to v.033.014. I had three files dandelion.png, spring.png, leaves.png in the images folder(c:\data\images) on the phone memory. I've deleted them from the file manager but now they are still in the gallery and if I try to remove them from the gallery the system shows an error. I can't find them anywhere in the memory and I can't open them from the gallery (showing files corrupted). I reset the phone twice with *#7370# but with no luck. How to remove those files from the gallery? Thanks in advance...

My playback screen in iMovie '11 is always blank or a still, broken picture. How do I fix this?

I don't know what happened. It was fine until I tried to play back a video I was making and it didn't want to. Imported videos play fine, but when I drag a clip to the editing part it doesn't play.
I also made a short project a while ago, but no matter what I tried I couldn't delete it. I also couldn't play it again or even access the editing screen
I don't know if I imported too many videos, or have too many videos in the Project Library, but the playback screen is just not working!
The audio is completely fine, however.

Have no clue - but You might try some of this
When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
• iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
• Creating a new User-Account and log into this - forces iMovie to create all pref. files new and error free
• Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
• a codec is used that doesn't work
• problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
• version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
• preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
• other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext HD or DVD)
• External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
• USB-flash-memories do not work
• Net-work connected hard disks - do not work
• iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie.
This You do by
_ close iPhoto
_ on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
_ now select all five options presented
_ WAIT a long long time
• free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
• external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
• GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
• Screen must be set to million-colors
• Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
• Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
• Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
• Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
• In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)

Navigation key in 6700 slide

Does anyone know how or if you can personalise the middle navigation key so you can choose which applications it goes to if you click right, left, up or down? Can't find it in the manual and can't figure it out without it.

The other user has described how the flashing-envelope problem is caused by your SIM card having a bunch of SMS messages unnecessarily stored on it.

do you mean that this link itself is broken, or can you not download the MDK from that page?
If you have problems with the link - it works fine for me as well - are you logged on when you try to download the MDK? Sometimes it is not possible the access this page when you are not logged on to MDK.

Broken image links on APEX 3.0 in Oracle 10g XE? Here's the solution

You're on Oracle 10g XE and you've just upgraded your APEX from 2.0 to 3.0. You log into APEX Admin and there's tons of broken image links. You look into the Oracle documentation for APEX and it instructs you to copy the Images folder into your htmldb directory if you're using Oracle 10g standard, etc. But you're using Oracle 10g XE and there is no Images folder anywhere to be seen!

In OracleXE these resources (Images) are stored directly in the database, using the Oracle XMLDB feature. You can access the resources and modify them directly by using the WebDAV feature of the XMLDB.
(1) With Internet Explorer, just go to File > Open > http://127.0.0.1:8080/i (check "open as webfolder")
Then, copy the contents of your apex/images folder into this webfolder. It will take about 10 minutes. When it's done, refresh your Apex 3.0 website and lo and behold! Images! :)

When loggged in & browsing as administrator, I can not open picture links. When logged in as user, I can. What is wrong?

I have 2 log in/users on my computer. Parents, and kids. When browsing under the parents section/admin,- I can not open picture links. When logged in & browsing under kids log in/user, I can. What have I done wrong?

How come when I click an enlarge picture link on the ebay a blank page comes up?

Every time I click an enlarge picture or the upload picture link a blank page comes up. It has nothing on it but "search bookmark and history"

So confused with my 6700 slide

Have just got a new 6700 slide and there are so many things I can't work out that I'm just about ready to throw it out the window! If anyone could answer any of these I'd be incredibly grateful.
Ok:
Firstly it keeps telling me it is unable to access my contacts that are saved on my sim card, and sometimes it tells me to insert my sim card, even though it is clearly inserted. What am I doing wrong? the handbook says I should have been given the option of accessing them when I first entered contacts, but I don't think I was...should I restore it to factory settings and try again???
Secondly, to do this, is says I need a lock code - is that something I should know or be able to access?? If not, does that mean I'm not able to restore it to factory settings?
Third: Please tell me there's a way of getting rid of all the awful boxes and messages on the "desktop" page?? I dont want to set up my email, share my photos or see my calendar entries as soon as i turn on my phone, i just want simply the background, so how do I get rid of them?
Ok these are the things imediately confusing me but I have no doubt there will be more. Please help me if you can.

Well yes ! Two things actually, first read the user guide, and secondly Tick my green star !!!
But you can also check your shortcuts and active stndby settings in personalisation-standby !!
Nokia phones are actually quite easy to use, rather than getting frustrated, play about with it for a while, you'll struggle to break it , and you may find you do want one or two shortcuts once you get used to it

i have just changed from N95 8GB to 6700 slide.i had almost 4gb of videos and pic in my n958g,so i bought an 8gb micro sd for my new 6700 slide.i tranfered all vids and pics from n958gb on to the card via card reader.i inserted mmc in to 6700 slide and all vids and photos are visable in gallery-images,all photos are ok BUT the vids keep sticking when playing apart from one which has appeared in vid clips.i have just blue tooted a vid from 6700 slide to 5800 and 5800 is playing perfectly which proves the card is ok.why is this hand set not playing my vids without sticking?
please help ,these are vids i cant lose.

For what its worth, I had a similar issues and called the UK helpline & technical support number. A guy called Glenn was right on the button with what he thought had gone wrong and he was right. From my perspective, this was an issue with an out of warranty iPad, however, due to Glenn's product knowledge, he was able ascertain what had gone wrong during the iOS 3.2.2 to iOS 5.1 upgrade. This saved me time, money and has restored my faith in Apple as a quality brand. I suggest you call the UK help line. I previously called the American line and, no offense, but they were unable to fix anything. As is often the case, it comes down to skilled individuals who actually care about the company they work for. Call Glenn and his colleagues; they will put you right.
