6700 slide contacts problem

Can anybody help me out with this problem? I go to my contacts, and if a contact has 2 numbers I go to the 'open' option, however the screen returns to the home screen and won't open the contact for editing or calling. I have downloaded the latest software updates and switched off and on. At a bit of a loss....

Well, I dont agree with this containement process to by pass using OVI (what if I cannot use it then???). Also my Nokia 6700 is experiencing the same issue. It doesn matter if u have stored more then one phone number to each contact.
When I try to open the contact the system put me back into the previous page. Yesterday it did happen that I could open for few minutes and then the mobile suddenly lost connection with the SD card and the OS system crashed. I had to plug out and re plug in the sd card wihout realoding the SW (thx GOD) but again the same Contact issue came back so if I try to opeen a contact simply it doesnt backwarding me to the previous page.
SO DEAR NOKIA THIS IS A PRODUCTION LATEST SW BUG FAILURE!!! How do u intend to solve that considering the fact I did check the SW version and is already at the latest level and my mob is only 3 wks life?
Oh, another thing, dimensional tolerances on the parts chassis are laso really poor. The metal cover keeps moving...

Problem with 6700 slide Gallery

Hi all,
I bought 6700 slide last week. I have updated the firmware to v.033.014. I had three files dandelion.png, spring.png, leaves.png in the images folder(c:\data\images) on the phone memory. I've deleted them from the file manager but now they are still in the gallery and if I try to remove them from the gallery the system shows an error. I can't find them anywhere in the memory and I can't open them from the gallery (showing files corrupted). I reset the phone twice with *#7370# but with no luck. How to remove those files from the gallery? Thanks in advance...

Cannot import sim contacts on Noki 6700 slider

Hi, I bought a new Nokia 6700 slider, and are note able to import the SIM contacts to the phone, or to acces the simm card contacts thru the phone.
the User manual states that the first time I insert the siim, it asks the option to import them and/or to acces them thru the phone, but nothing happende.
Does anybody knows how to import the simm contacts to the phone, or be able to acces to them on the simm card??

How do I backup the data on my 6700 slide?

I have a 6700 slide, and I have problems with the memory. The phone says the memory is full, even though I removed all the files I can, and cleared the cache in the internet browser. When i remove things the amount of memory doesn't change at all. Now I can't take photos, and I can't put any music in my phone at all, it's very frustrating!
I read that it could be a good idea to hard reset the phone to free up memory. But then I'll need to do a backup on my data, but how do I do that?
It's basically the contacts i need to backup, since I sort of removed all the other files....
I'm using a Mac, so I can't use the PC suite program.

Download the Nokia Suite from here and install on your PC.. Connect the phone to PC and open OVI Suite.. Go to Tools --> Back-Up and follow instructions.. For added safety use the 'SYNC' function too.. and the Data will get Synced with the Nokia Suite. Other than the Contacts.. you may Sync the Messages, Photos, Music also...

6700 slide- can't setup E-mail

Hi,
I have problem setting up E-mail on 6700s.
I open email setup wizard and select gmail, then enter id and password. After this, I get a message saying ' Detecting e-mail settings" and it returns to the same screen where we have the email accouts like ovi, yahoo, gmail etc. are listed.
Somebody pls help.

Hello, Hopefully you have fixed your problem but if not you could try the following. (I've just got a 6700 slide and have struggled to set my e-mail up too - its now working perfectly!)
Contact your mobile provider and ask them to send the e-mail settings for the 6700 to your handset.
Then go to the Nokia web page for e-mail settings for the 6700. If you carefully set up everything they suggest it does eventually work. S

I'm having contacts problems. I just updated my iPhone 4S iOS to 6.0.1. And after that, I started having Contacts problems. My contact list is disappearing automatically, and I have to Import SIM everytime, to bring the contacts back.

It all started after updating my software to iOS 6.0.1. Contact problems, disappearing automatically, and I have to IMPORT SIM everytime when it happens, to bring my contacts back. And this is happening more when I'm using Whatsapp application. Every two hours using Whatsapp, my contact list is dissapearing, I'm seeing only numbers. I thought it was an Whatsapp problem, but after that, when I go into my Phone's contact list, I can see nothing ! Empty ! So I guess it's a software problem or something. Please help. Thank you.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

6700 slide - keeps trying to connect to internet

I recently bought the nokia 6700 slide and have been having the same problems as others, with the screen saver etc
One which I haven't seen coming up before though is that at random times a display box comes up on my screen asking whether to connect via O2 WAP or O2 internet, even when I'm not using the internet or not even touching the phone! I'm not sure if it's some fuction on the phone that is trying to connect or what.
It wasn't bothering me that much until this morning when my alarm didn't go off. When I looked at my phone the little display box was on the screen and only when I cancelled that did the alarm go off. A text message also came in when the display box was cancelled, although it had been sent an hour earlier.
I can't really rely on the alarm function until I get this sorted out so if anyone has any tips, they'd be much appreciated!

Delete any profile defined in there.
Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Admin. settings > Packet data
Set "Packet data connection" to "When needed

Navigation key in 6700 slide

Does anyone know how or if you can personalise the middle navigation key so you can choose which applications it goes to if you click right, left, up or down? Can't find it in the manual and can't figure it out without it.

The other user has described how the flashing-envelope problem is caused by your SIM card having a bunch of SMS messages unnecessarily stored on it.

So confused with my 6700 slide

Have just got a new 6700 slide and there are so many things I can't work out that I'm just about ready to throw it out the window! If anyone could answer any of these I'd be incredibly grateful.

Firstly it keeps telling me it is unable to access my contacts that are saved on my sim card, and sometimes it tells me to insert my sim card, even though it is clearly inserted. What am I doing wrong? the handbook says I should have been given the option of accessing them when I first entered contacts, but I don't think I was...should I restore it to factory settings and try again???
Secondly, to do this, is says I need a lock code - is that something I should know or be able to access?? If not, does that mean I'm not able to restore it to factory settings?
Third: Please tell me there's a way of getting rid of all the awful boxes and messages on the "desktop" page?? I dont want to set up my email, share my photos or see my calendar entries as soon as i turn on my phone, i just want simply the background, so how do I get rid of them?
Ok these are the things imediately confusing me but I have no doubt there will be more. Please help me if you can.

Well yes ! Two things actually, first read the user guide, and secondly Tick my green star !!!
But you can also check your shortcuts and active stndby settings in personalisation-standby !!
Nokia phones are actually quite easy to use, rather than getting frustrated, play about with it for a while, you'll struggle to break it , and you may find you do want one or two shortcuts once you get used to it

N6700 slide / Contact search in Contacts and Adres...

Hallo!
I bought Nokia 6700 slide last week. After the first setup of the exchange mail the contact search worked perfectly: when I started (in Menu/Contacts) to write a name and it was not found in contacts of my phone, nokia immediately offered the possibility to search on exchange server and in same screen returned the found contact (if any).
Now, after yesterday´s nokia sw actualization (current version 061.004, 20-Oct-2010; User version 061.004.327.02, 14-Dec-2010) this possibility completely disappeared!
When I now start to write a name and it is not found in contacts of the phone, nokia returns "(žádné shody)" (I have czech language version; in English it means something like "no records found") ...and that´s all. I must then go to Menu\Application\Email\Adresář (Adresář="Adress book") and write the wanted contact in the "Search in Mail for Exchange" field. Contact is then found (if any), so I think that my Exchange mail is configured correctly. Is there any possibility how to get the search function back as it worked before SW actualization (search in Contacts and Adress book in one step)? Thanks for any advice. Vera

Ah yes, reboot had been tried but to no avail.
Before doing a soft reset I take screen grabs of my homescreens which will make things easy to get back to how I want them.
Doing #7780 soft reset now...

Voice dialling on 6700 slide sends a message?

I'm trying to use voice dialing on my 6700 slide.
It works fine if I say "home" [ finds & dials my home number ]
But if i say "Traffic" [ which is 1200 on O2 ], it wants to send an SMS to 1200 rather than call 1200.
Any idea how to persuade it to call rather than text?

Well, I've found a rather puzzing work-around.
-- I call 1200 normally (by typing "1200" from standby & pressing "call")
-- end the call
-- I goto the call log / dialled numbers
-- I save the entry for 1200 that I just made as a new contact
-- now it works!
comparing the original contract entry that I typed in and the one I created as above, I can see no difference. But one works, one doesn't.

6700 slide - truncated sms after upgrade

Hi all,
this is my problem. After I upgraded my 6700 slide to version 062.001 ( RM-576), when i receive an sms, it's truncated. And the only way i've to show all is open it as forward and then close without send it. So then i've complete sms in received sms list...
What can i do to resolve my problem? :/

I have a BlackBerry 9300 and i have contact problems with my phone.
I tried to sync my contacts with Funambol but, when the sync is done, I can't read or delete my contacts. My BB's OS version is 5.0.
So, I upgraded my BB to 6.0, then I didn't have this problem anymore.
Can somebody explain me why I have this problem. I' m a presales Engineer at a Frensh ISP, and we want to provide our customers a sync solution with Funambol, but all our BBs are on 5.0.

Yes! It keeps changing the contact pics! Hate that. I have one set and the phone decides to switch to a Facebook pic. Linking SHOULD be clever, but the way BlackBerry does it, it's annoying.

i have just changed from N95 8GB to 6700 slide.i had almost 4gb of videos and pic in my n958g,so i bought an 8gb micro sd for my new 6700 slide.i tranfered all vids and pics from n958gb on to the card via card reader.i inserted mmc in to 6700 slide and all vids and photos are visable in gallery-images,all photos are ok BUT the vids keep sticking when playing apart from one which has appeared in vid clips.i have just blue tooted a vid from 6700 slide to 5800 and 5800 is playing perfectly which proves the card is ok.why is this hand set not playing my vids without sticking?
please help ,these are vids i cant lose.

For what its worth, I had a similar issues and called the UK helpline & technical support number. A guy called Glenn was right on the button with what he thought had gone wrong and he was right. From my perspective, this was an issue with an out of warranty iPad, however, due to Glenn's product knowledge, he was able ascertain what had gone wrong during the iOS 3.2.2 to iOS 5.1 upgrade. This saved me time, money and has restored my faith in Apple as a quality brand. I suggest you call the UK help line. I previously called the American line and, no offense, but they were unable to fix anything. As is often the case, it comes down to skilled individuals who actually care about the company they work for. Call Glenn and his colleagues; they will put you right.

Set up delivery report on 6700 slide

My misses has just got a 6700 slide but I can't find how to set up delivery reports or view the memory card.
Im sure it very obvious but any help will be very appreciated
