6pm and the latency spikes. 10pm and the internet ...

Had this problem for the last three weeks and it is just getting more and more frustrating to stick with BT
EVERY evening at 6pm on the dot the internet grinds to a halt and the latency shoots upto the 500~ mark and continues to fluctuates from 500 to 100 every few seconds. This continues until 10pm on the dot when it gets even worse, latency shoots upto 2k, websites seem to not respond for 10~ seconds, gaming is impossible, steaming is a no go. And its the same EVERY night
I have no issues during the day. I can skype clients, use the internet etc with no issue... but as soon as it hits 6 or 10 the internet dies. I very much doubt it is congestion as its only been an issue over the last few weeks and it fluctuates rather then a constant performance hit. Its a rural area and half the oldies are in bed by 10.
Running the speedtest just shows what I know

Still using my old homehub, performance loss is the same whether im on laptop, macbook, tablet, phone or PC.
I have swapped over microfilters etc double checked router settings and the only thing I can see it being is BT are doing a poor job of throttling the internet at 'peak' times.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

ACPI.sys, NDIS.sys, and TCPIP.sys causing massive DPC latency spikes

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. I recently reinstalled my OS. Using LatencyMon and DPCLatency checker, I've noticed that these three drivers are causing massive spikes. How do I replace these files with non-problematic files?
(Originally, my computer was on Home Prem, I did an anytime upgrade to Ultimate, this time I did a clean install)

I am also doing home recording with my computer, via firewire and I also see latency spikes.
Its for an advanced home user difficult to judge, what is causing issues.
Audio clicks and drops were mainly caused on my (high performance system) by non optimal combination of Firewire Card/Chipset, Windows 7 Firewire driver and driver of the audio Interface, but which I could finally solve.
My Solution for my system:
- 1st I had to buy a new firewire card with recommended chipset of audio interface vendor
- Additionally I had to use the Win7 Firewire "legacy" driver
-> Then my audio clicks and drops went away.
Month later the vendor releases a new version of his Mixer/driver for the audio interface (Saffire mix control).
And what shall I tell:
- the normal Win7 firewire driver could be chosen (which seems to be more optimized in terms of latency)
- under Cubase (with setting "optimize cubase for windows") the firewire latency went down from 200us to even 76-90us on average.
Of course Microsoft shall work on optimizing their OS, I want an optimized OS as good base for everything.
But all my problems went away in terms of recording, at least on my system, when I optimized things around Mircrosoft.
With a Laptop this might be a different issue ..

I cannot receive email properly on either my IPad or my IPhone. I have had them for over a year and they have always worked fine. Until three days ago, when they both started acting up. On the IPad, when I open mail, it says it is downloading about 1,700 emails. At the very end, which takes quite a while to get to, I finally get the most recent ones. The IPad is sending emails just fine.
On my IPhone, when I open mail, it says it is downloading 100 emails, but it doesn't do that. And it gives me no new emails at all. The IPhone is sending email just fine.
I have already deleted the email accounts on both devices and reinstalled them. I've contacted the Internet service provider and verified all the right settings. The Outlook email on my desktop is working perfectly.

WMV is a heavily-compressed format/CODEC, and the processing time will depend on several factors:
Your CPU, which is not that powerful in your case
Your I/O sub-system, which is likely a single HDD on your laptop
The source footage. What is your source footage?
Any Effects added to that footage. Do you have any Effects?
Each of those will have an impact on the time required.
The trial has only one main limitation - the watermark. Now, there are some components, that have to be activated, but are not with the trial, but they would be evident with Import of your source footage, if it's an issue.

If the same website is opening each time you launch a browser (Safari?) hold down the shift key as you launch to prevent previous pages from opening.
Have a look at your settings in Safari > Preferences. Especially General and Privacy.
Reset Safari to remove cookies and other stored data.

My 2nd gen works fine with WPA2 and AES encryption.
You may need to go back and start over. Reset the router back to factory defaults, log on as the admin, set up security, DHCP, and make sure the IP address pool has enough IP addresses to lease to ALL of the computers/devices that will connect to that the router.

My Macbook Pro suddenly, and for no apparent reason, will not connect to the internet?

About a week ago I went to go online and my computer said I had no internet connection. Around that same time I noticed that my background on my desk top was back to the factory set background it came with, but I did not change it. That is the only thing I noticed out of sorts. I asked the other members of my family if their computers had internet and they DO. So does my iPod. I knew it was not my internet service, but my computer.
There is a "!" on the internet signal icon (top right). When I click on it I get a message in the drop down menu that says "Alert: No Internet Connection...." When I click on that, I get "Network Diagnostics" pane asking me to select location. I choose 'automatic', 'continue', then 'Wi-Fi' and 'continue'. Then it asks me to select Wi-Fi network. I highlight my network then continue. At this point, the words on the left are Wi-Fi- with a green dot, Wi-Fi settings with a green dot, Network settings with a yellow dot, ISP with a green dot, and Interenet and Server both with red dots. Then it comes up * "Network Change Detected - your network configuration has changed. Click OK to proceed to the next step". When I click OK, it asks me for wireless security info. I choose WEP password and then put my password in, and check the box next to "remember password in keychain", then continue. Goes right back to the "Network Change Detected" message at the * above and all the dots to the left accept the Wi-Fi one are now RED. I just keep going in circles from there, continually coming back to this message no matter what I do! I have no idea what happened or what to do?!
Does anyone have any ideas? Please help! I am a student and don't have any money to take it to a professional. I am the only one in my house that has a Mac (everyone else has PC's) so no one can really help me troubleshoot. You can't download music through anything other than the iTunes store or by syncing music that you have on your computer that is placed into iTunes. Once the music is in iTunes, you can sync it to the phone.

The internet was working fine til 10:31am philippine time. Was downloading OSX Lion, at that time it was somewhere half. Then all of a sudden internet failed and lost connection. My ipad was is displaying an alert message " A wi-fi connection is required to download your apps and media". So it has been connected to the internet over night and this morning but is still displaying the alert message and it won't go away. what to do?

My name is Norbert. I am having some difficulties restoring my icloud back up. My ipad was doing an icloud back up and the alert message displayed on the ipad after my internet was interrupted "A wi-fi connection is required to download your apps and media".
I got the internet working, my ipad is receiving internet network but the alert message is still displayed on the ipad and won't go away, to make matters worse the ipad is frozen and i can't do anything.
Please can anyone with a similar experience tell me what to do in this situation?

Have you tried a hard restart. Press the on/off button and homescreen buttons together until the device shuts down.

My mac connects to the Internet fine, but Sarfari, chrome, and Firefox will not work. Nor will programs that connect to the internet

This problem has been going on for a few days. my computer connects to the internet fine and runs fine, but none of my Internet browsers will work. I have deleted all my history, cache, cookies etc. For all browsers. I have also made sure that i have no proxies on and that no firewall is blocking my Internet. I have ran virus scans to look for malware and nothing comes up... I'm very confused.
For chrome I get errors like "err_socket_not_connected", "err_connection_closed", and "err_empty_response"
for safari it just says "safari can't open the page because safari can't establish a secure connection to the server"
please help me if you know anything! Thank you in advanced

I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.

You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

I am connected to a time capsule both wirelessly and through ethernet...and state of the time capsule is solid green...the internet however doesn't work...The internet works fine when directly connected to my macbook pro but it won't work through the tc

I have deleted time machine preferences...restarted the modem a bunch of times, restored time capsule to it's original settings...after I first set it up in Airport Ulitity its shows a page quickly that states there is a internet problem, but the page quickly goes away before I can read what it says exaclty and states the internet connection problem is resolved...
However it's not resolved, I'm also having trouble doing a back up to my time capsule...I recently purchased a new macbook and retrieved/restore what was on the time capsule to the new computer...that worked fine...wireless worked fine...however when I tried to back up the new macbook...it would faii stating that there isn't enough room on the TC to do a back up...
I didn't end up keeping the new macbook, I was just using it/trying it out while my current macbook pro was being repaired (logic board)
Ever since I got my current macbook back from repair...my backups have failed due to their not being enough space to perform the back up...in the past the back ups would happen and old back ups would be replaced...
I think this has to do with my current computer having a new name after the repair..."Adam's macbook pro 2" vs "Adam's macbook pro"
The internet was working fine wirelessly through the TC a day ago, but it wasn't allowing my other laptop that was connected via ethernet access to the internet...I had a self assigned IP address error then...I don't have that problem now, but it's not transmitting internet at all...even though it's in a solid green state.
I have no problem completely wiping out my TC including the previous back ups on it...just don't know how to go about it...I have restored it to factory settings a bunch of times and created the network from scratch...just hasn't fixed the issue
Is there more prefences files I should delete

If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

Is your AirPort Express Base Station (AX) a 802.11n model? If it is, you can reconfigure it as a wireless Ethernet bridge or ProxySTA. This would allow the AX to join another wireless network and have its Ethernet port enabled for wired clients, like the Xbox 360.
To activate ProxySTA, you must set up the Express to join a wireless network and then enable the Allow Ethernet Clients setting; both settings are located in the Wireless tab of AirPort Utility.
