It sounds like you are experiencing multiple issues with this iPod Nano 5th Gen. From what you are describing it seems we can isolate this to either the software or the hardware on the device with a couple of simple steps assuming you have tried another set of headphones. First, reset your iPod with this article:

Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
If you are able to reset it, but the issue persists, or you are unable to reset it, I would next attempt restoring it with iTunes:

My replacement 6th gen nano keeps freezing.
I know that these replacement nanos only get 90-days warranty,
I got mine in Februrary, so I know this warranty is over.
But my nano keeps freezing! Sometimes it turns off by itself whenI'm listening to music.
It's quite annoying. Is there anything that Apple can do for my replacement nano with expired warranty?

When my Ipad has been disconnected from wifi and shut off, it keeps coming back on and online. It can happen in 10 minutes, or hours later, happens irregulary. Have noticed when it happens, I get nofications from facebook of comments and or posts.. I can switch the wifi off, switch the iPad off and then set it beside me, hour later it dings, i have noficiations of face book things, and its online again.. why is this and how can I stop it from happening?
Yes, I went to settings and turned wifi off. Thought at first I wasnt letting it set for a sec or two before shutting the iPad off. so now I wait like a minute or two before shutting the iPad down. didnt seem to help. Tried actually logging out of facebook when I was done with it, worked for about 4 days, and now it has started coming on and coming online again,, I went through my notifications and shut things off, Well see if it works. thank you.

My iPhone 4 still seems to lose signal even though its at the latest OS?
As you can see from the title the Iphone loses signal whenever the antenna is covered. This problem I thought was resolved with 4.0.1 update? I am now at 4.3.3 and having only gotten the iPhone a week ago it is a big problem. Any help?
No, the phone quite clearly doesnt work fine, if i am on the phone to somebody I lose connection. That doesnt sound fine to me. And theres only one option and that is to spend ANOTHER £30. Could it not be that the antenna isnt set properly? I know apple was giving away free bumpers for a while but thats over now. That suggests I dont need a bumper to fix the phone as it was meant to be a software problem. This hasnt been fixed so im wondering if it could have something to do with the manufacturing.

Please advise. I just tried connecting my newly purchased (previous generation...not the newest "Tower" model) Time Capsule, but cannot get beyond the "blinking yelow light". If you pulled out an existing router.. then you have a modem.. what modem is that? Explicit details help loads.. and loads.. and even more loads.. we cannot guess solutions without knowing the setup.
But you can simply configure the TC in bridge mode.. do it directly connected to the TC with ethernet wire.. LAN TC to computer and configure it in bridge.
Then setup wireless any way you want..
You can turn it off and still use the wireless on the old router.
You can setup a new wireless network.. and connect to that.
Or you can setup roaming network, ie use the same wireless name and same security settings and password as the existing router.. assuming it also has wireless.
Do nothing at all and it will still work..
