6th gen Nano not appearing in iTunes with OS X 10.7.2

6th gen Nano not appearing in iTunes with OS X 10.7.2
device DOES show up on desktop

And a couple more suggestions.
The Generic PCL Laser Printer included with Lion will only print in black and white. So open Print & Scan, select the Konica printer, click on Options & Supplies and then select the Driver tab. Ensure this does not show Generic PCL Laser.
And, there is also a Generic Postscript printer driver included with Lion that does print in colour. So to rule out an issue with the KM driver, create another queue to the printer but this time select Generic Postscript in the Print Using menu and see if this prints in colour.

Then it's time to call Apple tech support while you are still under warranty.  Every iPod comes with complimentary, single-incident telephone technical support within 90 days of your iPod purchase.   If you also purchased AppleCare, then your warranty is extended for technical support and hardware coverage for two years from the original purchase date of your iPod.

  • 6th gen nano not recognized by win7, nor itunes

i've been using my 6th gen nano for a few months now with no problems. suddenly today, i plugged it in and it wasn't recognized by windows and doesn't show up in itunes.
i keep getting errors stating the unknown device is not recognized. i've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers in the Device Manager. i've tried everything on this support page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538. i've also uninstalled, reset, and reinstalled itunes...twice. i've also reset the 6th gen nano several times by holding down the - volume button and sleep button.
the weird thing is, when i plug in my 2nd gen shuffle, it's instantly recognized by win7 and itunes. same thing for my 1st gen nano (using the same cable and USB port).

  • Why is my brand new iPod nano not appearing in iTunes?

I just connected the latest iPod nano model to my iMac, and it charges but does not appear in iTunes.  I can't set it up or sync music, etc.  I followed the troubleshooting procedure provided on the apple.support website.

  • 6th gen nano not syncing all tracks from library

Can anyone tell me what the little exclamation mark beside unsynced tracks means?  I have a 6th gen nano which will only sync 491 tracks out of 1026 in my library.  I didn't have a problem when I had a 3rd Gen nano, it only seems to have happened since getting the new one.

It means that iTunes can no longer locate that particular track in the location it is pointed at on your PC's hard drive. See this article for more information and assistance.

  • 1st Gen iPod Nano not appearing in iTunes, but DOES appear as a disk

    Good Afternoon All,
I have a 1st Gen Nano 1GB that up until iTunes 9 was syncing fine, but now - Nada.
The Nano is in disk mode and appears just fine in Finder, I can eject it and it's charging fine but iTunes 9 won't see it.
    I have:
    - reset the iPod (not restored because it won't show up in iTunes)
    - updated iTunes to r9 and checked for any other outstanding updates
    - Re-installed iTunes 9
    - this morning I applied the 10.6.1 update
    - The update forced a reboot of the iMac so I have rebooted since the issue started
I can't do most of what is in this KB article because it won't appear in iTunes (hard to restore otherwise, right?): http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1410
My iPod Touch's (both 1Gen) connect to the same USB port/cable combination just fine and applied the 3.1 update to both through the same port/cable.
I don't want to restore the Nano if I don't have to, I have some Nike+ run data on there I don't want to lose, but I suppose I can pull it off in disk mode first if I have to restore.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Fortunately I solved my own problem, but unfortunately it took an iTunes downgrade.
My daughter's iBook was getting dog slow so I decided to pull a "PC" and reload fresh Leopard to clear out the gunk and get her to trim the fat from her iTunes and other directories and clear the mung left over from the original Tiger to Leopard upgrade.
As part of that I initially skipped the iTunes 9 update and connected the iPod to iTunes 8 - it was recognized instantly and uploaded my Nike+ data.
I did notice that the Nano is still PC formatted from back in the day before I switched to Mac. I am going to try connecting it to my iTunes 9 iMac again, and if nothing comes up I am going to restore it in iTunes 8 to Mac format and then see what happens in iTunes 9.
    I will update here.

  • 6th Gen Nano not found in windows 7

Ok so i just got a 6th gene iPod nano, i have been trying to set it up, but my computer won't recongize it (windows 7). I have tried everything, i have uninstalled and reinstall itunes, i have done the misconfig, i have reset the ipod, i have used different USB ports, i have used a different computer, i have made another user and tried it there, NOTHING IS WORKING, i've done all the help stuff here on the site that i have found and it just won't be regonized, i'm getting horribly frustrated and would love some help.
My itunes is up to date and there have been a couple times where the set up has almost opened but i never goes past the first text box.

Capturing time is hard.. it is a capsule.. to hold fragments of history rather than a trap to capture time.
The TC uses illegal to the windows world names.. change all names for wireless and TC itself to pure alphanumeric with no spaces.
Open the manual setup .. on the disks page from the top menu..
Make sure you give the Windows WORKGROUP correctly.
I also recommend you turn on guest access.. read and write at least until you sort access.
Update the changes.. in the computer. Open the airport utility again and find what IP is the TC running at. Summary page will give you that.
    In windows explorer type,
    \\TCname
    If that fails type
    \\TCIPaddress
Where TCname is the new name of the TC.. and TCIPaddress is exactly that.. by default 10.0.1.1

Im Using an ipod touch 4th gen and i have updated the iOS to 6 and nothing happens except the screen is always in apple logo only. and when i connect it to laptop, the ipod does not recognizein windows and also in iTunes

The Nano uses different drivers than iOS devices like the iPod touch

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - New cable and different USB port

  • TS1363 Once again having trouble with my 6th gen nano not being recognized in ITunes on my Windows 8 computer

Can't decide if the nightmare called Windows 8 is the culprit.  I'm reinstalling ITunes (for the 2nd time on this PC) and re-downloading all of my music to my computer. Hopefully I can get the new songs I purchased to show up on my IPod.  If not, time to go back to my 1997 discman.

This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62 and Windows 8.1.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

  • My Ipod nano (6th gen) is not displlaying on Itunes

any suugestions? i have tried restarting the services, i got the new version of Itunes and reset my Ipod.

    hi newayne,
i had the same problem for months. try trouble shooting the device on your laptop first and if that fails totally delete all of itunes off your computer including quick time and all of that other stuff which comes with itunes and then reinstall itunes. you will still have all of your music on itunes.
    hope this helps. alex

  • 6th gen nano not recognized by windows 7 64 bit

My nano is not seen by my computer or Itunes. also when i download itunes there appear to be no drivers for mobile support. what am i doing wrong? I tried all the steps found on apple support and nothing works. My sync cable is brand new and all my usb ports work fine. help please.

Working solution on win 7 32 & 64 with driver lj1010serieshb-vista, did as follow:
connected printer, windows tried to auto install and failed, device was listed as unspecified.
googled for lj1010serieshb-vista(32/64).zip driver, downloaded from hp website, unzipped and extracted files.
Start > Run > PrintManagement.msc , then Print Servers > Localhost , right click on drivers > add driver > next > choose x86/x64 > next > have disk > browse to location of extracted
files, select hpc1015e.inf > ok > select hp laserjet 1010 hb > next > finish
Repeat above process and this time select select hp laserjet 1015 hb > next > finish , this step is needed as stated on previous post some files are missing on the 1010 driver and adding 1015 fixes the problem.
Now back to Devices and printers , right click on the unspecified device > troubleshoot > then will ask to search for driver, select "apply this fix" , it will find and install the correct driver from previous step > then will ask to set printer
as default, select "apply this fix" > then will ask if you want to share printer, select "skip this fix" if you don't want to share > close troubleshooter.
Now i have perfectly working printer, 'preferences'  is working and not crashing win explorer and printer doesn't hung.
I guess you could first add the two drivers to your system before
connecting your printer and it would install perfectly but who would though this old printer would not work trough windows update.
thanks to the people who went by trial and error to find a working solution.

  • 1st Generation Nano not appearing in Itunes suddenly!!!!

My Now, which I had as a special present, recently one month after the warranty ran out stopped appearing in the Itunes. The device works fine and charges but I can't update it. I went into and 'explored' Itunes Setup but saw that under 'security' the software was not being allowed into Itunes because it had not been digitally signed, but I'm not a technobabe and had no idea what to do. I must say I have not dropped it or treated it roughly it just no longer appeared.I have tried the five rs. I have re-installed Itunes but am now at a loss and my faith in Apple is very low if these things break a months after the warranty runs out.You may as well buy cheaper products, at least they are cheaper to replace.
