6th Generation has buzz/whine when plugged into my car auxiliary!

This is my second 6th generation, my first also had the same problem. I hoped I had a lemon the first time (but after stepping on it, it didn't matter!) I don't notice the buzz/whine when I use headphones, but is always there while in my car auxiliary (I use a Belkin line into a JVC KD-AR390.) Is this typical of this Nano? My 2nd generation Nano didn't have this problem (on the same system) and neither do my friends' with Touches (when playing in my car.) Does anyone else have this problem? Do I need different equipment? This is one of the main functions I use my iPod for! Please help!

I was experiencing a whine/whistle when trying to play my 6th Gen Nano in my car through the Aux also. My previous 3rd Gen Nano never had this problem either. I solved it by adding a ground loop isolator (ie: http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=193&CategoryID=31) to filter out the apparent interference. The only irritation is that the Isolator is larger than the Nano but since I only have the problem in the car, who cares.

  • IPhone has 175 songs but iTunes says it has over 600 when plugged into computer

    On my iPhone4:
In the Settings > General > About - My phone says it has 175 songs
When plugged into a Mac with iTunes my phone reports that it has 175 songs under the tab 'On This iPhone'
But, in the Summary tab, if you hover the mouse over the Audio area it says 665 songs.
My phone is nearly full and I think this must be the culprit because I don't store much on my phone. So I am trying to figure out if there is a Deleted Music folder somewhere? Why is iTunes reporting so much music on my phone.
I only have a handful of podcasts so that isn't it either.

When I have my 32GB I-Pod touch ( 3rd Generation ) plugged into my PC, the internet works fine. When I unplug it, it says I'm still connected, but can't load anything. What's going on?

  • How do I get my iPhone 5 to stop automatically launching Music when plugged into my car USB port?

For quite some time, my iPhone has been set to automatically launch Music -- on the first song listed alphabetically -- as soon as I plug it into my car's USB port, which I use both for connectivity and for charging. It's enough to have made me hate a song I used to love: if I hear the opening riff of "The A Team" one more time I think I'll throw the phone out the window!! LOL Seriously: I've seen fixes for this in other posts, which apparently referred to older versions of iTunes, and required the "Stop AutoPlay" function to be initiated OUTSIDE the device, in iTunes on the synchronizing computer. That makes no sense to me. I've searched but cannot find a current fix. Am I eternally doomed to suffer this annoyance? Thanks!

Disable any security software on the computer and try again.

  • Iphone 4 makes an continuous intermittent vibration/buzzing sound when plugged into any of computer's 3 usb ports; does not show in itunes or Windows Vista device manager. No problem charging the phone with other power sources. What's going on?

This problem happened intermittently in the past but now happens every time I plug in the phone. I suspect it might be a problem with my computer, an Acer Aspire 4530, perhaps with it's charging function via usb ports? The phone makes the same buzzing sound twice when I connect to other power sources, but continues when connected to computer. I have this issue even when the phone is 100% charged.

  • X301 has no sound when plugged into port replicator

    Hi
    We have a x301 model 2777-cto with a port replicator model 45k1610.
We first had the issue with the blue screen and not lenovo SA or IBM could assist. I found the solution on here.
No i have a new problem. When the port replicator is plugged in, there is no sound on the machine? Once the port replicator is unplugged, the sound works fine?
Any ideas or tips will be much appreciated.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

When you connect to the port rep, the audio should be routed to the audio port on the port rep by default, not your system. There should be a setting via the task bar icon for the port rep driver that sends the audio back to your sysetm jack.

  • IPhone malfunctions when plugged into my car stereo

I have seen a thread or two that relate to this and was curious if there had been any progress made. I have a 2013 Kia Rio, Plug my iPhone into the USB port and ever since the iOS7 update it lags between songs, repeats songs incessantly until I manually advance the song via the steering wheel controls or controls on the stereo itself. I've also noticed that when using 3rd party audio apps like Spotify, when I press the "Next" button (both on the wheel and on the stereo) that it advances 5 tracks (there are 5 "Next" beeps that ring through my speakers) and won't "next" anymore since that's the limit.
    Any thoughts on this?
    Apple? Anyone?

oh, I know, it was just a general sort of "Hello? Apple? Anyone?" sort of ending. I know they don't haunt these boards often - it's easier to ignore the masses that way.

  • Iphone volume when plugged into a car usb

When I plug my I-Phone 3 into my vehicle's USB port i have to turn the volume way up to hear music. I usually listen to an FM station at volume level 12. When using the Iphone I can't hear anything until a level above 30. Thoughts?

Thanks but the system in my car does not have AUX cable option. Only USB or Bluetooth.

  • Ow do I stop the ipad from playing music automatically when plugging into my car?

I'd like to play my Scorch application through my car speakers but the iPad starts my music instead and doesn't give me an option to not play it.  Anyone know if it's possible to change it so it doesn't start automatically?

I have the same issue.  Was attending a major conference, sitting in the VIP section, and suddenly in the middle of the keynote address, I heard music playing, coming from my leather bag.  Struggled to turn it off quickly before disrupting the event, but alas I wasn't quick enough.  Also have the new iPad.  Have tried everything, but it keeps launching sometime after I close the cover.  Need a solution, please!

  • Audio Noise When Plugged Into AC Adapter

I have a dv9000 laptop which produces a sizzling/buzzing sound when plugged into the AC adapter.  It makes the sound when headphones or external speakers are used.  I have updated all drivers that the HP Support article mentioned, but still do not get any silence.  It appears that the sound intensifies when the hard drive is used more.
Also, I found articles relating to the same issue, and improper grounding was determined to be the cause.  I have a 3 pronged AC adapter, so the ground shouldn't be the problem.

" have a 3 pronged AC adapter, so the ground shouldn't be the problem."
Actually I bet it IS.  Try a 3 prone grounding adapter (cheater plug) and let the ground float (leave disconnected).  See if your problem doesn't go away.  You most likely have a ground loop which I have wrestled with many times in the past with HP laptops.  Unless you are sitting in a pool of water or get struck by lightening, you should be just fine 99.99999999% of the time.  If you have any other powered external devices connected to the laptop such as hard drives, routers, etc  THEY TOO may need to have their grounding floating.  Report back your results.

  • How can I stop the display dimming when plugged into a powersupply. Cannot read playlist in car using music player.

My new ipod seems to dim after a short time, even when plugged into a power supply, unlike my previous ipod, which used to stay illuminated
when plugged into the car stereo and external power
Now in order to see the playlist I have to swipe or touch the home button, using the music player. However using  a GPS app, the screen stays
    fully illuminated......as it should!
Is this normal now for playing music?
Also, the new grey on white menu display for music is very hard to read in the car in bright daylight.......unlke the old white on black. Nothing I
can do about that sadly except complain to apple directly :-(

Hi Diavonex. Yes I was aware of this option.
Subsequently I have done a litle research and downloaded a music app called "Track 8" which has a much clearer interface (larger type) and the abillity to change the background colour to dark or light.
This is much more readable in the car in bright light, and much better at night too.
You can also turn off auto-lock within the application, which is great, as it doesn't affect other apps.
Although this app is really only an interface sitting on top of the music app, it offers a much better experience
in my opinion that the stock player which seems to have devolved rather than evolved.

  • Mouse only works when plugged into a specific USB port

Hello. I'm using a HP optical mouse that connects via USB plugin.
    HP PIN: 505062-001 Rev.A
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
It only has full functionality when plugged into a specific USB port on my desktop. I can't get it to work with any other ports or chained with a HUB plugged into the port it likes. All of my other USB devices work fine with those ports and my HUBs. The red light on the bottom lights up but the mouse pointer does not respond to movement and clicking the buttons does nothing either.
    1) I'm confident, that it's not a problem with the desktop hardware
    2) I'm confident, that it's not a problem with the mouse hardware
When the mouse is fully functional, it's displayed under Devices and Printers, in the Devices category as "USB OPTICAL MOUSE".
When connected with the other ports or through a HUB, it appears as TWO entries in the Devices category:  "HID-compliant mouse" and - here's the suspicious part - "HID-compliant keyboard"
I suspect that something's up with the driver for the mouse. Any clues, as to which driver I need? Or, is the cause of the problem something else entirely?

    Hello Tick_Noby,
Your mouse only works in certain usb ports.
Has the mouse ever worked in the ports?
You can go to device manager and uninstall the fake keyboard and the mouse and restart the computer.
It seems that the driver is not correct for the mouse.
    Also reset BIOS defaults.
    Turn off the computer.
As you turn it back on tap the F10 key. This will load BIOS setup utility.
    Press F9 to load defaults.
Press F10 to save and exit.
When the computer boots back up, check to see if everything is working.
If it has not been to long since the problem started, you can run a system restore.
This will take the system back to when everything was working correctly without affecting your personal files.
Here is a link on how to do a restore.
Let me know how everything goes
    Have a good day.

  • Click wheel problems when plugged into dock connector

I just got my 80gb yesterday. I'm having problems with the click wheel. I have an adapter that plugs into my car stereo through the dock connector and also a Bose docking station. With my old 4th Gen iPod, I could use the click wheel to scroll through the menus while it was plugged in.
With my new 80gb classic, it has trouble scrolling when plugged into the dock connector. Is anyone else having this problem?

Similar thing is happening with mine, except the other day my boyfriend dropped it into a cup of beer... it worked fine right away but then when I tried to use it again a few hours later it wouldn't turn on. When it's plugged into my speaker dock, it lights up and first just shows a gray screen with an apple but I can reset it and then it works fine, plays music, etc... but when I take it out of the dock the screen freezes up with these horizontal lines on it. I figured it must be battery related too but not sure.
Sorry this is really unhelpful, I just wanted to commiserate and see if anyone comes up with an answer for you...

  • Charger Buzzes when plugged into the Adapter Converter

Im in England currently (From the USA) and am using a "DYNEX" converter adapter to switch the electric current down so I can plug in/charge my Macbook Pro and iPad.
It works, however the charger buzzes pretty loudly and gets hot.
Thankfully I brought two, one started smelling like melted plastic and stopped charging altogether. That particular charger has faulted at home before (back in the USA), so I'm not sure if it died because of the converter or because it's just faulty.
I have plugged in the newer charger and it also buzzes, but I'm really worried to keep it plugged in because I don't want it to fault out too.
Is it normal for it to buzz like that when plugged into a converter adapter?
    Thanks!

The question again, why are you using a voltage converter?  The Apple charegers are all rated for 100-240 volts at 0-60 Hz...you only need a plug adapter to convert the US HEMA plug to the UK two round pin plug.
Adding a voltage converter is adding one more failure point into the system.
I have used mine all over Europe with no issues.
