7.0.98.0 Cisco 7925 CU @ 100+

Seeing an odd issue with the Cisco handsets. The CU (Channel Utilization) is oddly high. This was not noticed prior to the upgrade from 6.x. The analyzers arent showing CU high at all (2-10%).
Has anyone seen this ?

I'm seeing similiar results on my 7.0.98.0, although my CU can be from say a 29 to 108.  None of my other tools show any issues however.  I was also curious about this, because I've noticed the survey screen on the 7925 will get stuck at times, requiring you to go out and come back in to start scanning again. Was starting to wonder if the survey function was pure junk on the 25.
blake, can you point to the doc for this?
Thanks,
Raun

  • Cisco 7925 and Singlewire PustToTalk no voice

      Hello,
I am in the middle of implementing a Singlewire PushToTalk system in a wireless network with Cisco 5508 WLCs and Cisco 7925 phones.
I managed to configure everything and PTT works with the exception that from time to time there is a indication on the listening side and a beep sound, but there is no voice and the listening side doesn't hear anything. There is no logic when it happens and when it doesn't. The problem appears approximatelly 1 of every 15 attempt in one session.
The firware of the phones is the latest 1.3.4 and the PTT software is the latest, too.
If anybody has any idea what can be the reason I will appreciate any advices and hints.

  • Cisco 7925 Wireless Phone Wireless Auto Config

    Hello all,
My rehabilitation hospital is located right next to a large hospital connected by a catwalk.  We have had 3 incidents where our RTs have gone over to the hospital next door for patient MRIs and our Cisco 7925 wireless phones are being configured with that hospitals wireless profile.  The RTs are saying that no one from that hospital are manually configuring the phones to be on their wireless network so they can be used while off our wireless network.  We're thinking that the RTs are putting their phones down and picking up the other hospitals 7925s by accident before leaving.  My question to you is...Does the Cisco 7925s have an auto configuration tool that will automatically pick up on a particular wireless network and automatically configure itself and register with a Call Manager?  Thanks!
    Regards,
    Terence

    Leo and George,
Exactly!  It makes absolutely no sense.  All our Cisco 7925 phones are manually configured for our voice VLAN for our wireless network infrastructure.  It's the only profile I've configured for those phones.  I spoke to the other hospitals IT personnel and was advised that they use a wavelink server that sends the configuration to their 7925s after they have been entered into the server.  The only explanation I can come up with is that our RTs are sitting our phones down, doing whatever they need to do over at the hospital, then picking up the hospitals 7925 thinking they're picking up ours.  Another thing to note is that when I reconfigured the phone to be put back on our wireless, the phone performed a firmware update and then registered to our Call Manager.

  • Cisco 7925 phone states authorization required

I have a 7925 that flash authorization required. It doesn't have any UCCX services subscribed to it or anything else as far as services. I even reset it completely to factory defaults and rebuild its profile and recreated the phone in call manager. Yet it continues to flash authorization required. The end user complains that this drains their battery after a very minimal use of the phone. Has anyone experienced this issue and is their a solution? Thanks before hand

My next question would be is, within your network profile do your credentials match what you have setup for the wireless network authenication process?  i.e. AD crendentials?
    Thanks,
    Tony

  • Creating a 20MB bandwidth using two cisco asa 5515x with a hub (10/100/1000)

    hi all,
I would like to simulate a bandwidth of 20MB for my DR project testing on my two cisco asa 5515x and with a cisco hub (10/100/1000).  I was thinking to make two connections on my "outside" vlan with both speed of 10 and etherchannel it and do it again on the other asa.
Do you think it will simulate 20MB bandwidth?  Or any other suggestion?  Please add any comment, thanks to all.

    Hi Nicholas,
You have the HSRP running between your core devices. You can have your core A - ASA1 & Core-B - ASA2.
In your core switch you need to have a sepearate VLAN to connect the uplink to the firewall and asusual in asa you can have the primary and standby address configured and in core also you can have the vlan with hsrp ip configured.
But make sure that in your firewall you should mention the static routes for each subnets pointing to the core device hsrp.
The other scenario is you have make you ASA a standalone firewalls and in one firewall you need to have route to core a as primary and core b as secondary and in the other firewall vice versa. So that your traffic will get load balanced.
Please do rate if the given information helps.

  • Cisco CallManager 4.1

    Hello.
I am sorry for bad English. At me such question:
As in "Cisco CallManager 4.1" in "Device Defaults Configuration" to add phone support cisco 7925
By default such support is not present, it is possible to look a picture in an investment.
    Thanks

    Greetings.
Yes, on tftp all is good, all files for an insertion 7925 are present. Here the list of files: CP7925G-1.3.2.LOADS, TNUXH-1.3.2.SBN, TNUXRH-1.3.2.SBN, SYSH-1.3.2.SBN, WLANH-1.3.2.SBN, APPSH-1.3.2.SBN, GUIH-1.3.2.SBN.
In adjustment «Device Defaults Configuration» under cisco 7921 has substituted file CP7925G-1.3.2.LOADS, does not work, on phone the message «failure of updating of microprocessor maintenance» stands out
And devices cisco 7921 at reboot begin перепрошиваться under 7925 but too there is an error.
    While leaves nothing!!!.
    Like all I do correctly.

  • Switch SG-100 24port

    Hi,
we use the Cisco switches SG-100 (gigabit 24ports), but this switches not communicate whith a devices (PC whith 100Mbit LAN interfaces or printers RICOH MP 171 - can only 100Mbit). This switch should be able to communicate on speed Gbit, 100Mbit or 10Mbit.
    Where could be a problém?
Thank you in advance for your help.
    J.

    Dear Tharin,
For the SG 100 16 I have the following information for you.
Packet buffer size : 4 Mb
    Max power usage : 15,6 W (110V) 15;9 W (220V)
Unfortunately, data on min. power usage and heat dissipation are not at my disposal at this moment.
Hope this already helped a little.

    Nico

  • Multicasting (IGMP Snoop) between Nortel and Cisco

We are currently having issues with Zen imaging (multicasting) and our setup is the following.
Please take into account, our knowledge is very limited with IGMP Snooping setup etc.
    MDF = 6 Nortel 450-24T's using FirmWare -1.48 / SoftWare - 4.5.2.4
    IGMP Settings are such :
    VLAN: [ 1 ]
    Snooping: [ Enabled ]
Proxy: [ Disabled ] -----> This was on...but once off, runs much smoother.
    Robust Value: [ 2 ]
    Query Time: [ 125 seconds ]
    Set Router Ports: [ Version 1 ]
In the MDF (anythig directly in those switches) images fine now. (once I disabled PROXY)
However I have a few IDF's off the MDF that are using OLD Nortel 350F-HD's (no IGMP Snooping support) and it's horrible (can only do a few computers at a time.
So in one of the IDF's (the biggest one) I pulled out the 350F-HD and replaced it with a CISCO 2950 w/Fiber and it's using 12.1.20EA1 and I left IGMP Snooping on (thinking this will fix it) and couldn't even get ONE machine to connect and image in the multicast session. It's settings were (by default):
    Global IGMP Snooping configuration:
    IGMP snooping : Disabled
    IGMPv3 snooping (minimal) : Enabled
    Report suppression : Enabled
    TCN solicit query : Disabled
TCN flood query count : 2
    Vlan 1:
    IGMP snooping : Disabled
    Immediate leave : Disabled
Multicast router learning mode : pim-dvmrp
Source only learning age timer : 10
I then completly disabled IGMP Snooping on the CISCO and we're able to Image 5-7 Computers without a crash (more than that and it crashes - disconnects etc)
In the area's that I have All 450's or all CIsco's the imaging seems to go fine. (with minor errors)
Can any one give me some advice (or hopefully ran into this mixed setup before)?
    Thank you.

    Bosalaza,
Thank you for replying (and I read even more on the ip multicast routing). However I've not ran into the same issue at any school that has 100% cisco switches or 100% Nortels (that are setup correctly and not older than dirt). I think we've not needed the multicast routing setup as we only have one router on the network (and it's flat at the moment anyway). As long as IGMP Snooping is enabled correctly (on the switches) it seems to serve us well.
Although from what I've read (where you pointed me too) it seems even in our setup we would benifeit from taking time to setup "ip pim ....." etc.
I was able to scrounge from another network and change out a few very old Nortels (that didn't support IGMP Snoop) and all seems well now.
So long story short (and incase anyone else needs this info. The Nortel 350T and F - HD's were the main issue. It seems (for now) that a mixture of Nortel 350/450-24T's (any model that at least has IGMP Snooping) and Cisco's mixed (also Snoop on) works pretty well.
I'm going to consider this solved as I was able to fix it with changing out some old product. However I really appreciate your efforts and pointing my towards some good info. (Which I'm going to read up on more, as I'm sure we'll need to get it setup in the near future.)
    Thanks again.

We have another UC 540 on the same subent, I am plugged into a POE trunked switcch port on a cisco ESW-540-24p, the switch is not reporting any errors....
    Thanks for any help

  • Wireless FlexConnect Group

    Hi folks,
due wifi 802.1x implementation our customer decided to implement CCKM for fast roaming of cisco 7925 wifi phones.
At the same time customer have an Headquarter, and about 300 remote sites all of them implement FlexConnet tecnology with local switching.
For every sites he got a 5508 WLC with ver 7.4, and a 5508 in Headquarter as well acting as a backup WLC for remote sites.
Using FlexConnect and CCKM for remote sites requires FlexConnect Grouping.
    From Release Notes
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/7-2/configuration/guide/cg/cg_flexconnect.html#wp1241304
I've noted there is some limit for this configuration that I'd like to be confirmed:
    1) 25 APs for FlexConnect group -> true for 5508 WLC?
    2) 100 FC Group for 5508 -> is still true in ver 7.4 or higher?
    Third question:
I'd like to implement PMK/OKC instead CCKM. How can I do it? I'm missing configuration in GUI menus.
Last question: How can I resolve the FlexConnect Group Limit in my Headquarter due the fact I got more than 100 Groups to create? Is really necessary to add new 5508? No other way?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi
Typically FlexConnect design is for a branch wireless where you DO NOT have a local WLC to terminate CAPWAP.
If you have a WLC at branch & still you deploy FlexConnect at that branch then it is a waste of WLC resource.
Here is my feedback for your points
    1) allowing WAN QoS for Voice/Data wifi client. Local switching allows voice packet to follow same routing and QoS of wired IP Phone. Analogue reason for PC data traffic. And is more useful when in backup/centralized auth mode. Encapsulate all traffic in CAPWAP tunnel doesn't allow us QoS implementation.
I understand Wireless QoS is tricky to implement & you will never get same policy for wired/wireless  (that's where Unified Access or Converged Access design come onto play-by the way I am not telling you have to go for CA ) You need to assess pros & cons of going for FlexConnect design & I am not sure this QoS is purely justifying go for it.
    2) now 5508 are present for 80 sites but could growing. All remaining sites are managed by old 2106 WLC. For this purpose in next plan maybe we'll decide for a Centralized WLC. No plan at this moment.
    My view is
All sites you have WLC - Deploy local mode AP with primary WLC as branch & back  up as HQ WLC.
All sites you do not have a WLC - Deploy FlexConnect local switching mode with Central Auth where HQ WLC used.
    3) so, what's the limit for FC Group in 5508 WLC?
100 (refer the given Ciscolive presentation)
    4) OKC allows PKI AP cache as well CCKM. But OKC release fast roaming between different Flexconnect Groups while CCKM not. For sites with more than 30 APs should be very usuful, expecially considering 7925 phones.
When it comes to fast roaming CCKM is the best if it is CCX clients, otherwise 802.11r which is IEEE standard & supported by multivendor  clients. OKC is  a way vendors implemented prior to 802.11r ratified  as a way of fast roaming. So you should not look at OKC  over 802.11r or CCKM(if it is for cisco clients)
I think since you are lock-down to this FlexConnect design, you try to overcome the limitations of that design, rather look at high level to see "flexconnect is the best way to go or not" . In my view if it is fastroaming 802.11r is the way forward (CCKM is must if you are 100% cisco clients)

  • How to change CUE ip address?

    Hi,
We moved to a new location and using comcast as ISP. I was setting up the phone system today and met a few problems.
    1. First of all, all the phones are connected and working(total of 4), but I can only see 3 of them showing up in the CCA. Whats happening here?
    2. I wanted to change the user name which appears on the phone using the CCA, CCA told me that the settings were successfully sent to UC520, I restarted the phone and uc520, but the names on the phones remain unchanged?
    3. I forgot the password of the voicemail for one of the phone, and wanted to changed in the CUE. so I went to 10.1.10.1,but some comcast login page showed up instead of CUE. so I want to know how to change the IP address of CUE? I don`t know the CLI commands so please teach me if it can only be done with CLI. I have only used CCA in the past. Could this be the reason why for problem 1 and 2? I`m feeling wierd because all the phones can be used to call in/out.
my data vlan is 192.168.0.0 and voice vlan is 192.168.2.0 let me know if you need any other info.
need help urgently as I want to resolve this problem asap.
    Thanks in advance.

how to change local ip address?Via an operating system command.
It's not the sort of thing an application should be doing at all. IP addresses these days are assigned via DHCP. Why would you want to change it from within an application? It would probably disconnect all sockets for all running applications, invalidate the login, all kinds of bad effects.
    What is the actual requirement?

  • SIP Trunk - No voice with Single Number Reach

    Hi Community.
I setup SIP Trunk with the CCA. Everything is working Call In and Call Out. Call Forward and so on.
But with Single Number reach is something wrong. The mobile phone is ringing and I can get the call, but I hear not any voice.
Can someone please help me out? Below the config.

    Hi Patrick
I am working on this one as well. I have a UC560 with SIP Trunk provider Les.NET.
It was working fine until a few weeks ago when something changed on the provider end and broke it. My hunch it is something to do with the SIP REFER.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice-unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-express/91535-cme-sip-trunking-config.html
Here is an excerpt from the above page:
    Call Transfer
When a call comes in on an SIP trunk to an SCCP Phone or CUE AutoAttendant (AA) and is transferred, the CME by default will send a SIP REFER message to the SP proxy. Most SP Proxy Servers do not support the REFER method. This needs to be configured in order to force the CME to hairpin the call:
    Router(config)#voice service voip
    Router(conf-voi-serv)#no supplementary-service sip refer
Figure 3 shows the behavior of the CME system with the REFER method disabled.
