7.2 crashes while scanning internal drive

When I scan my drive from the project manager logic carshes during the middle of the scan.
Can anyone replicate this error?

I tried that, disk utility will not format the drive. Which is the problem.
After disk utility failed I formatted the drive using my Windows 7 disc and then proceeded to install Windows 7, which worked fine for over a day before I decided to try OS X again. Disk Utility again failed to format the disk.
I know its not a standard hardware issue at this point or else Windows wouldn't work. It could be the sata controller isn't reporting S.M.A.R.T. correctly (I'm assuming OS X requires S.M.A.R.T. support), or the temperature sensor isn't working (it wouldn't affect Windows of course) or it could be the install disc I have is a dud, my friend never had to use it because the previous time the HDD failed was during his Apple Care warranty.
Not being a Mac guy (I have 3 Windows machines and maintain another dozen or so for friends and family) I don't have another install disc to try. If no one can help me troubleshoot the problem I would at least like to know if taking it to a "Genius Bar" would be helpful or if they would either A.) not have a way to troubleshoot the issue on site or B.) they would charge me an arm and a leg just to find out its a bad DVD. Or **** they could try to talk me into buying a copy of Lion (not compatible, this is a single core 32bit Intel chip) or buying a new mac or mac "licensed" hdd.
Basically it's not my machine and my friend has since bought a new iMac, but he wants to get this one working to give to a relative who only needs email and basic web browsing. Honestly if it were up to me I'd install a Linux distro and call it a day, but he really wants OS X on it.

I have updated everything (PlugIns, patches, drivers, etc.), and Photoshop CS5 repeatedly crashes while scanning. I can bring up the scanner in the Import Menu and the Preview function usually goes OK, but everything crashes when I hit "Scan". I have a 32 bit MacPro running Snow Leopard and have checked Photoshop to load in 32 bit. I have an Epson Artisan 800 All-in-One. Scanner works fine from Photoshop CS4 and also works fine using Epson Scan software. Any suggestions?

forget about scanning in photoshop, scan directly from your scan software
this has been discussed many time over the past few years and recently since CS5 doesn't install the TWAIN plugin anymore by default (you have to find it on the photoshop install DVD and install it manually)

Music Manager crashes while scanning music library

Using: Windows XP SP2, PC Suite 6.81 (the latest), on a USB cable connection, with a Nokia N73 (probably an early firmware version)
The music maanger app seems to crash after scanning the music library -- it completes the scan for files, but while parsing out the Artist/title/track info, it crashes consistently.

Here's the story. I went through each folder, one by one, scanning until I was satisfied that folder did not cause the crash. After filtering each folder, I moved it as a subfolder to one labeled "OK". Folders which caused MM to crash were moved elsewhere. I had lots of folders so this was a time consuming task...
Result: once I filtered through each folder, consolidated the ones that worked together, I ran MM on this group of "OK" music folders. Guess what? choke...... w*t*h? the weird thing is, MM runs with no problems on my home machine, which has all this music and much, much more, on a network drive. So MM does not work on a subset of those files, on a local drive. This totally confuses me. It seems as though more than 200-500 songs in one folder (the number isn't consistent) crashes MM. But there has to be something else...

Logic crashes while scanning Audio Units

when starting up Logic, it tries to scan Audio Units. Installed I have an Akoustic Piano (Native Instruments, latest version), which I never use, came with a bundle. Audio Units cannot find it, so it scans and scans, Logic doesn´t start up but crashes. Can I skip the scanning or tell the system somehow that it should ignore Akoustic Piano? I don´t even know why it doesn´t find it anymore. This happened only after installation of Leopard.

Leopard has changed the AU format, so some plugins will no longer function. You will need to go into AU manager and turn off the offending plugins.
To do this, load Logic without loading core audio (hold down the control key while Logic is starting up). It will ask "do you want to run core audio" choose no, and logic should boot up. From there, go to your Au manager and turn off whatever plugins that are causing logic to crash.

[Solved] Banshee crashes while scanning USB Mass Storage mounted SGS2

I start banshee and then connect my Samsung Galaxy S2 as mass storage. It shows up in Banshee and Banshee starts to scan the folders for files, but at some point it suddenly crashes.
Any idea what is causing the problem here?

EDIT: As it seems, this was a general error of the FS of the SD card. I had to format it, which is unfortunate, but it works again.

The blame "may" (well i think it is) be a "baytay + i915 kernel drivers" fault, these thread are intresting :

I did use the trik on a custom kernel, i do have freeze (none tomoroy but two today but only on using firefox, so may be another probleme (sna)) but not on video (well i had run 15 video same time, and two where running 2 hours after without crash). May be you should try it (i think it work better).

Today I've finished building my pc.
i5 4670k with noctua c14
Msi Z87-G45 gaming
Msi gtx 770 twin frozr
Corsair tx650w
Goodram 4gb 1333MHz cl9
Seagate barracuda 500th 7200rpm
Corsair 300r
It worked very well at the beginning. I've managed to install windows 7. But since I didn't have any DVD drive installed, I downloaded msi live update 5.
First, I've installed the USB 3.0 driver. Everything gone smooth. Second was Intel inf driver. In the middle of downloading/installing (didn't notice which one) my screen froze. Mouse and keyboard were not responding. Even ctrl+alt+delete wouldn't change anything.
I decided I'll give him few minutes.
After ten minutes I've restarted pc.
And this is when all my troubles began.
The pc is turning on like normal. All fans are working, all leds on board are light up. But neither on 770 nor integral gpu I have video on my monitor. After 30 seconds it just reboot. Afterwards it just work like normal except I don't have any video going on. It's only one reboot.
Tried to unplug hdd, gpu. Switched memory to different dimm, checked all psu cables, resetted bios settings by taking out battery for 10 minutes.
Now it's only psu, cpu+cooler, mobo. Still no video, and it always reboot once after few moments.
I've tested ram, hdd, psu on my friend's pc. All was good.
I'm kinda running out of ideas. Maybe the UEFI is broken?

As the title says, the game starts but it freezes, and makes repetitive sounds only after a few seconds of gameplay. I've came back to Arch after 2-3 months of LMDE (at that time, I've renounced Arch because of Cinnamon) and UrT is unplayable with the open source drivers, even if at the time I've left I remember the game worked okey with radeon drivers.

Well, first, make 100% sure the XP patch for all XP printers is installed. There are a large number of threads in the forum that give the details, but this Microsoft Hotfix is the baseline -- if you don't have this installed, you're likely to have problems that it fixes.

I suggest trashing the PM data, setting the PM prefs to "use search engine" and avoiding the use of the PM altogether. Seems more trouble than it's worth. I've had far fewer problems with Logic since I adopted that strategy.

I've been having an issue with adobe acrobat 11.0.10 crashing during scanning with a fujitsu fi-5120c scanner on a windows 7 computer. Using TWAIN driver. Has anyone else encountered an issue with crashing while scanning? If so please let me know what you did to resolve the issue.

Please check whether the scanner works fine with other applications or not.
On your Windows machine, please navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat" and move ACE.dll file to desktop.
Now, repair Adobe Acrobat from Control Panel and then try scanning PDF files.
If the issue still persists, then you might need to update your scanner drivers and then check.

My hard drive crashed while backing up!

How's this for luck: I finally bought an external drive and was in the process of making a bootable backup to a Maxtor One Touch Firewire 800 drive when my G5's internal drive crashed! I was able to insert the OSX startup disc which opens the installer, and then allows me to open Disk Utility. After several seconds of gathering disk information, I finally get two hard drive icons on the left side of the window. The top one gives me generic info about the drive (74.5GB and the model number). Under that is another hard drive icon followed by "Disk1s9", and that is greyed out. (I do not see the actual name that I gave the drive.) When I select it, Disk Utility tells me that the drive is not mounted, and the 'mount' button on the toolbar becomes active.
I placed a call to Apple Care. He had me unplug and then replug the drive. After that my drive was named Disk0s9 in Disk Utility, but was still not mounted. They told me I needed to go to a repair center. The tech at the Genius Bar of a local Apple Store used one of their drives to try to run Disk Warrior on my drive. At one point I saw my name for the drive on the screen, but Disk Warrior did not seem to start when prompted, and I was told that I was in possession of a dead drive and given the business card for a data recovery service.
Of course, I would like to save the contents of my drive. I'm just wondering if there is anything that I can try before shelling out for data recovery? I'm assuming that clicking the 'mount' button in Disk Utility is not the answer or the people at Apple would have suggested it? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Next time I'm going to back up individual files first and worry about bootable copies later.

You are going to need another SATA drive anyway at this point. And surprised you went this long probably on just one?
Install 10.4.6 on the new drive (assuming you don't want to install on the Maxtor) - later versions of Tiger have improved on Disk Utility than what 10.4.0 had. Apple sells 10.4.6 DVDs now also.
DW can take a long time. But it is possible it is salvageable. Even put SATA drive in a universal SATA/FW case and deal with it there.
DiskJockey and Data Rescue are two good options. Disk Utility can also has a Restore tab to allow copying one drive to another. A sector copy might be of use, too.
TechTool Pro (4.1.2) might even be of help (DW has not been updated and there IS a need for it, but it has been over a year they've been working on that update).
People have even put hard drives in the freezer (sealed and moisture proof) to get access to a drive.
Heat kills drives. And it could be your system and the drive got too warm.

Hi, I'm running my macbook from an external hard drive (Os yosemite) due to bad reinstall of mavericks. It was fine for a while then admin Password stopped working and i tried all ways to retrieve it. I want to install os back onto internal drive.

Due to a bad install of Mavericks, my macbook was just on a loop. I correctly formatted a new external drive and installed Yosemite there and was able to retrieve my files onto the external drive. So for a while I was able to run my mac from the os on the external drive and it was fine. I built up enough courage to clear the internal hard drive. or so i thought. It will no longer recognize my admin password and I can't gain access through my Apple store and iCloud password so I have effectively been locked out. i have tried all suggested ways to deal with that. I can't seem to install the os from my external drive on to the macbook internal drive. My dvd/cd player hasn't worked for a long time so I can't install a snow leopard disc and upgrade from there. I really need help here. thanks

Tried this just now, but it didn't work. I copied it to my internal drive, but if I then selected that file and told it to open in iTunes, it played the one on my external drive.
However, it was possible to play the copied movie in QuickTime Player. I wonder, though, would that approach work with a rented movie? The movie I was using was one I bought from iTunes.

ITunes crashes while accessing iTunes Store with a intel video driver

I have a DELL laptop running Windows 8.1 with i7 4500U at 1.8G, 8G ram, 1TB hard disk, NVidia GT750M, iTunes is working fine at downloading or updating apps but crashes while I trying to accessing iTunes Store, no matter I choose run with intel integrated video card or Nvidia video card.
I wonder if this is happened because of Win 8.1 incompatibility or intel video driver, the driver is up to date and if I try an older driver, iTunes won't start at all.
The same thing happens with Adobe Photoshop CC 64bit, it just get freezed but get an error message said intel driver is crashed and auto recovered.

I'd like to add some more details to my question.
I don't know if this happens at Win8 since I updated to Win 8.1 right after I purchased my laptop, all Win patches are up to date and also iTunes, I am running Win 8.1 64bit Pro version.
I tryed to reinstall iTunes, install quicktime or reinstall quicktime, also tryed to use microsoft kb 2639417, but it does not support win 8.1.

FM 10 crashes while using Adobe printer driver

We are expereincing regular crashes while attempting to use the Adobe PDF printer driver.
We are printing to postscripts file, and then distilling. Most of the time FM crashes at the first file in the book, regardless of which book we attmempt to use.
Is there a different driver from Adobe that we should use?
