7.2 Update broke a preset

I've been using a preset to export Quicktime movies at 1080i using the DVC Pro codec.  We export video from AME and import the video into "Click Effects" for playback in our arena.  It has worked fine for the last four months.  However, since the 7.2 update, Click Effects will no longer accept the video.  Does anyone know what may have changed with the 7.2 update to cause my exports to fail?  I'm at a loss since my workflow is unchanged.

How do you cycle the power? I am having the same issue with the same model. I have restored my Apple TV twice.

  • Airport utility 5.3.2 update broke configuration functionality

After upgrading to the newest apple airport utility I can no longer read the configuration of any of my airports. Using an extreme and airport express.
I open the application, it shows my 2 airport networks but when I try to run any kind of configuration on them then it stalls at the 'reading configuration' screen.
This is quite a serious problem for me as this effects a work network that I need to be able to update. This is like the 3rd or 4th time something that was supposed to be an update broke functionality. Very disappointing. If someone is still on the old version, perhaps they could eMail it to me ?

  • Updates are adjusting Presets in Photoshop CS6

Its real simple. I come in after an update and I paste something on the canvas and the transfer controls are on. I dont know what you are doing with your updates but it will get hellish real quick if updates are changing presets for users. So be real careful to make sure your not changing presets around with these updates or u may see a large migration back to paint.

Yes they are different apps -- one does raster, one does vector - but they share the need to allowing printing from time to time, and there's no reason why the printing interface should be radically different.
Unquestionably, Print Presets would be very useful in Photoshop.
I know where all the settings are -- I want to have a preset so I don't have to keep setting the color management and magnification and everything else each time I want to output to a particular printer.

  • Update Broke Dual Monitors...among other things

Well Good Evening everyone....I got home to an updated, broke windows build.  I am guessing my PC stayed on and automatically updated over night. I came home to no signal on either of my monitors, all of my software that was installed is now missing,
and i could not get into my PC. I restarted several times but still no success. I finally removed my secondary monitor, and I then had my screen back which is when I discovered all of my settings and software had been removed, kindalike a Refresh PC you can
do on Windows 8. All of my files and documents are still in tact though. Also if I plug my secondary monitor back into the video card, still no signal. I've tried using the Windows+P to extend, as well as going to Screen Resolution but my settings will
not save when i hit apply. This is a bit annoying but I do understand its a technical preview. Just wish my secondary monitor worked, Windows 10 is no good without it. Any ideas?

Have you tried deleting the drivers manually from Device Manager? Remove any and all components that might be conflicting and unplug any unrelated peripherals. Then reinstall the latest Windows 8.1 drivers. Also make sure your
    monitor connections are setup properly.

  • The new updater broke my ipod

I've just installed the new updater for my 5G iPod. Now, when I've got the backlight set to off, I can no longer turn it on again by holding the menu key for a few seconds - it just goes to the previous menu no matter how long I hold it down. However, the backlight does work normally when on a timeout setting
Anyone else having this problem? Think I'll get hold of the bug-fix updater (the previous version!).

the reason is that its doin it is because for the
hold menu thing is that you have to be at the main
menu to turn it off.. its really only for when you
have it switched to "always on" when you have it on
    like that. then it works
No, it doesn't work at the main menu either. And no, it did work from anywhere with version 1.0.
Basically, the updater broke it like I said, and there was another person who posted the same problem at the same time i did.
This is a bug caused by the updater.

  • Ios8 update broke messaging in iphone 5

The i0s8 update broke imessaging in my iphone 5s. Asks if I want to send as SMS instead. Nice QA, Apple.

I had the same problem with iOS8 and the iPhone5.  I was not getting any messages being sent to me via iMessage.
I only noticed this because the iMessage app on the Mac had new messages that the iPhone did not.
When I went to the iPhone Messages settings and tried to log in to iMessage via my apple ID and PW the phone kept saying the PW is not correct which was not true since I am using that same ID and PW to post this message.
I turned the iPhone off and then back on, went back into the Messages settings and iMessage indicated I was logged and and now is working however the earlier messages only delivered to the mac app don't show up on the phone.

  • LR 3.6 stopped showing/updating my export presets

LR 3.6, Win 7 ultimate 64 bit. Yes, I am so afraid of all the talk I hear about LR 4 being slow (it DID slowed down from 2 to 3) that I still work in 3.6
It is no longer showing/updating my export presets (see left column). Whether I add folders from the OS or from withing LR, they are not visible. If I select them in FOLDER CHOOSE (see right side of the screen shot), then it will export them properly to the right folder but I have no way to UPDATE FOLDER WITH CURRENT SETTINGS.
Help, I am working on a project with deadline
THanks you so much in advance
    Oliver
Message was edited by: [email protected]

Apparently the thread opener solved his problem since the discussion stopped here.
    I have a similar problem and I can't think of a solution.
    WIN 7 64 bit
    LR 3.6
After setting up my system on a new C:/ Drive (SSD), I successfully restored LR and all Settings and continued working.
Then I noticed that there was a strange problem with the export settings.
I have a large number of export setting groups and settings and they have all been restored. All but their paths!
No matter which setting I am selecting, it won't choose the export path I originally saved with the setting, but rather it will have remembered the path I used with the last export - in any of the saved export settings!
If I change a setting and right click to "save with current settings", it will save any new settings but the path!!?
It's not too critical but very annoying.
    Can anyone help?`
    Thank you!

  • [Solved] Update broke some things

Okay, I just ran pacman -Syu and among the kernel and ndiswrapper updates some important stuff got broken.
    1.   When I try to boot up it gets to the file systems spits out a bunch of stuff and gives me this error
    /etc/rc.sysinit line 271 5915 segmentation fault /bin/mount -o remount, rw
What do i have to do to that line to let it boot normally?
    2.   This isnt a fatal error, just an annoyance.  but in that same file on line 350 it says: /usr/bin/kbd_mod no such file or directory.
    Can I delete this line?
    3.  and finally once again, these updates broke the wireless.  When I run netcfg2 mynetwork I get a wireless association failed error.
    Any help on this?

  • Last update broke my mac

    Hi all
Seems the last update broke running games with Steam, and broke Skype. Any idea what might have caused this, and how to fix it?
    roy

    Hello:
Well, since none of those third party programs have been changed, and since the Apple update *did* change my mac, it was the one that broke things.
Actually you completely missed my point.  Software that is being maintained by a manufacturer (translate Apple) is under regular incremental improvement.  Third party developers have access to the changes before they are released to the general public.  The reason I suggested you contact the third party developers is because they may already have a fix or workaround.
Is there an easy way to roll back such an update?
If you backed up your system prior to doing the update (always an essential step), yes.  If you did not, no.

  • Last iOS update broke iphone5

3 days ago iOS 8.2 update happened. Since then my phone is froze either black or Apple or sometimes a screen like "blue screen of death like on a comp"?I've tried itunes , I get error 2002. Tried downloading from cloud. Last night tried reiboot_ free program but didn't work so now wants $59.00 for paid program. I don't trust this will work. I'm ready to stop using Apple and go back to droid.
this is  ridiculous , I've been with Apple 3 years have iPhone and iPad and Apple TV. ready to purchase a fourth Apple computer.  I'm rethinking all of this and may get away from Apple.
this is second time a iOS update  broke an outherwise working iphone.  APPLE GET IT TOGETHER.

I can't count the number of iOS updates I've done and only encountered 1 major issue since purchasing a 1st Generation iPod Touch.
Error 2002 is indicating a USB communication error, if you are using a hub or a front USB connection on a desktop try plugging into a primary USB port. You might also want to use a different cable.

  • Office 2013 latest update broke new profile creation on all network computers

    Hi,
    Reporting a bug here!
    Setup details:
We're using samba 3 as our backend and all workstation are Windows 7 Pro x64.
Office 2013 Home and Business Retail (en-us) Click 2 Run version
    Context:
Deployed to the whole network of one of our client using the Office Deployement Tool.
We update their base update (no updates) to the latest update 15.0.4569.1508
Everything was working alright after initial Office 2013 installation with no updates. After updating the all the PCs to the latest version as of 31/03/2014, the user profile creation broke for newly created user.
    Symptoms and causes:
Trying to log on as a new user on the machine would give the following error on Logon before automatically loging off because it cannot copy the following file to the new user profile:
    D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_00.sqm
    D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm
    D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_02.sqm
The Bici folder has Read and Execute permissions for everyone but the _XX.sqm files inside only have permissions (Full Control) for SYSTEM and Administrators and LOCAL SERVICE with the all permissions EXCEPT:
    - FULL CONTROL
    - TRAVERSE FOLDERS/EXECUTE FILES
    - CHANGE PERMISSIONS
    - TAKE OWNERSHIP
    Solution:
I gave "everyone" Read and Execute permission on those files and the new user could log in and his profile got created alright.
The files with broken permissions time stamp shows they've been modified during the Office 2013 update and Bici seems to be a OneDrive related service. This bug should get fixed ASAP.
    Event log error:
Windows cannot copy file \\?\D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm to location \\?\D:\Users\TEMP\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.

You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
    if it's not already checked.

  • Mountain Lion Update broke Time Machine

Okay, so I updated Mountain Lion to the latest version recently.  Since that time, Time Machine has given me the same error message every time it tries to back up.
    Time Machine Error
This backup is too large for the backup disk. The backup requires 60.91 GB but only 52.22 GB are available.
Here's what the Time Machine preferences says:
    Time Machine Backups
52.2 GB of 500 GB available.
    Oldest Backup: February 21, 2013
    Latest Backup: February 21, 2013
Next Backup: Today, ____pm  (It displays whatever the time currently is on the system clock.)
First off, the backup drive & available space info is accurate, but I'm confused, because I've been using this very same disk for three years, with this same computer (identical config, as far as TM is concerned; just software updates and additional apps).  It has just been since this last update that TM broke.  The weird part is that all of my older backups have disappeared, as well.  TM has always managed the drive space and number of backups handily.  I have the simplest setup possible, for TM . . . one machine, one user, one USB-connected dedicated backup drive without any partitions.
As it goes through the attempts to back up, it says Preparing backup, then cleaning up old backups . . . and then fails.
Oh, I should add, that the usb cable that connects the drive is really loose, and will sometimes disconnect mysteriously on its own.  Could that have done something to the drive?
I also have a full backup online with Backblaze, so I do have a fail-safe backup if something strange happens.
I've done some research, but all the info I've found is for OSX Leopard, and doesn't seem to help at all.
Sooooo . . . any ideas, tips, help?  I'd appreciate it very much.  Thanks!

Sorry, I left Leopard behind too many years ago and have never used TM. I only posted the link to the definitive guide on TM that I know about.

  • Latest (10-15-2010) Windows XP Updates Broke Access Connections

System: T60p with XP Pro SP3 updated with the latest patches from MSFT and Lenovo.
Couple of days ago Microsoft pushed a big pack of updates (According to Add/Remove Programs:
    2345043, 2344875, 2362765, 2360131, 2279986, 2360937, 2387149, 971513, 979687, 2345886, 981957, 982132, 2378111, 2296011 but I think there were more) which broke Access Connections.
I get  "Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)" - displayed TWICE for each attempted launch of ACWLIcon.exe.
Running Access Connections Application from the start menu also fails.
I updated to the latest available version 5.07.0002.0028 but the problem remains.
Can you investigate and release a patch? In the meanwhile, do you think I should uninstall it?
    Thanks, Alex.

    Hi LeshaM,
    Welcome to Lenovo Forums.
Could you try to uninstall it --> reboot machine --> reinstall the latest one and see if it helps.

  • Ipod updater broke my ipod

    To whom it may concern,
My name is Benji. I am one of the customer of apple and Mac. I got many staffs from apple, and I believe it's really a good company. Unfortunately, one day after I used the ipod updater 2005-9-23, one of my ipod, an ipod mini 4GB lost it functionality. The situation is like after installion the ipod updater, a apple logo shown on the screen of my ipod mini, and then suddenly, a folder logo appear with "www.apple.com/support/ipod". I did search on that website and got no solution. Then I went to one of the apple store which is in Staten Island mall for assistance. I made an assigment there, and the staff who responds to my case told me that they couldn't fix it, since mine is an old generation ipod. I asked him whether that ipod updater granteen the safety of user, he then told me to post my situation online to you to see whether I would get a replacement or any refund on it. Please help me, since that ipod is the gift from my girl friend. And I did read the requirment before installation. I hope apple would reponds to this accident.
    Thank you so much,
To install and use iPod Software 1.4 for iPod mini and iPod Software 3.1 for iPod with Click Wheel, you need:
    • An iPod mini or an iPod with Click Wheel
    • A PC with a high-power USB port or card (USB 2.0 recommended), or FireWire* port or card
    • Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or later, or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
    • iTunes 4.7 or later

    further info ...
If a sad iPod icon or an exclamation point and folder icon appears on your iPod’s screen, or with sounds of clicking or HD whirring, it is usually the sign of a hard drive problem and you have the power to do something about it now. Your silver bullet of resolving your iPod issue – is to restore your iPod to factory settings.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
If you're having trouble, try these steps at different levels one at a time until the issue is resolved. These steps will often whip your iPod back into shape.
Make sure you do all the following “TRYs”
    A. Try to wait 30 minutes while iPod is charging.
    B. Try another FireWire or USB through Dock Connector cable.
    C. Try another FireWire or USB port on your computer .
    D. Try to disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire and USB ports.
    E. Try to download and install the latest version of iPod software and iTunes
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
For old and other versions of iPod updater for window you can get here
    http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=7369
    F. Try these five steps (known as the five Rs) and it would conquer most iPod issues.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
    G. Try to put the iPod into Disk Mode if it fails to appear on the desktop
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
If none of these steps address the issue, you may need to go to Intermediate level listed below in logical order. Check from the top of the lists to see if that is what keeping iPod from appearing on your computer in order for doing the Restore.
    Intermediate Level
    A. Try to connect your iPod with another computer with the iPod updater pre-installed.
    B. Still can’t see your iPod, put it in Disk Mode and connect with a computer, instead of doing a Restore on iPod Updater. Go and format the iPod instead.
    For Mac computer
    1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
    2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
    3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
    4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
    5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
    6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
    For Window computer
    Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
    Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool”.

    C. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
    Tips
    a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iTunes 7.
    b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
    c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”

    Advance Level
    A. Diagnostic mode solution
If you have tried trouble shooting your iPod to no avail after all the steps above, chances are your iPod has a hardware problem. The iPod's built-in Diagnostic Mode is a quick and easy way to determine if you have a "bad" iPod.
You need to restart your iPod before putting it into Diagnostic Mode. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack. Toggle it on and off to be safe.
Press and hold the following combination of buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.
    iPod 1G to 3G: "Menu" and "Play/Pause"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select"
The Apple logo will appear and you should feel the hard drive spinning up. Press and hold the following sequence of buttons:
iPod 1G to 3G: "REW", "FFW" and "Select"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Back" and "Select"
You will hear an audible chirp sound (3G models and higher) and the Apple logo should appear backwards. You are now in Diagnostic Mode. Navigate the list of tests using "REW" and "FFW". The scroll wheel will not function while in diagnostic mode. For further details on Diagnostic mode can be found at http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/ipodsupport/diagnosticmode/
Try to do the 5in1, HDD R/W and HDD scan tests. Some successful cases have been reported after the running the few tests under the Diagnostic mode. In case it does not work in your case, and the scan tests reports show some errors then it proves your iPod has a hardware problem and it needs a repairing service.
    B. Format your iPod with a start disk
I have not tried this solution myself, I heard that there were few successful cases that the users managed to get their iPod (you must put your iPod in disk mode before connecting with a computer) mounted by the computer, which was booted by a system startup disk. For Mac, you can use the Disk Utility (on the Tiger OS system disk), for PC user, you can use the window OS system disk. Try to find a way to reformat your iPod, again it does not matter which format (FAT32, NTFS or HFS+) you choose, the key is to erase the corrupted system files on the iPod. Then eject your iPod and do a Reset to switch out from Disk Mode. Reboot your computer at the normal way, connect your iPod back with it, open the iPod updater, and hopefully your iPod will appear there for the Restore.
If none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired.
Consider setting up a mail-in repair for your iPod http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
Or visit your local Apple Retail Store http://www.apple.com/retail/
In case your iPod is no longer covered by the warranty and you want to find a second repairing company, you can try iPodResQ or ifixit at your own risk
    http://www.ipodresq.com/index.php
    http://www.ifixit.com/
Just in case that you are at the following situation
    Your iPod warranty is expired
You don’t want to pay any service charges
You are prepared to buy a new one
You can’t accept the re-sell value of your broken iPod
Rather than leave your iPod as paper-weight or throw it away.
You can try the following, but again, only do it as your last resort and at your own risk.
Warning !!!! – It may or may not manage to solve your problem, and with a risk that you may further damage your iPod, which end up as an expensive paper weight or you need to pay more higher repairing cost. Therefore, please re-consider again whether you want to try the next level
    Last Resort Level
    1. . Disconnecting the Hard Drive and battery inside the iPod – Warning !! Your iPod warranty will be waived once you open the iPod.
In Hong Kong there are some electronic shops offering an iPod service for Sad iPod, the first thing they do is to open up the iPod’s case and disconnecting the battery and the Hard Drive from the main board of the iPod. Wait for 5-10 minutes and reconnecting them back. The reason behind which I can think of is to do a fully reset of a processor of the iPod. In case you want do it itself and you believe that you are good on fixing the electronics devices and have experience to deal with small bits of electronic parts, then you can read the following of how to open the iPod case for battery and HDD replacement (with Quicktimes)
    http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/index.cfm?page=Video/directory.html
2.Press the reset button on the Hard Drive inside the iPod – Suggestion from Kill8joy
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2438774#2438774
Have I tried these myself? No, I am afraid to do it myself as I am squeamish about tinkering inside electronic devices, I have few experiences that either I broke the parts (which are normally tiny or fragile) or failed to put the parts back to the main case. Therefore, I agree with suggestion to have it fixed by a Pro.

I am not suggesting that you should follow as well, but just read them as your reference. You are the person to make the call.
Finally, I read a fair comments from dwb, regarding of slapping the back of the iPod multiple times
Quote “This has been discussed numerous times as a 'fix'. It does work, at least for a while. In fact I remember using the same basic trick to revive Seagate and Quantam drives back in the mid to late 1980's. Why these tiny hard drives go bad I don't know - could be the actuator gets stuck in place or misaligned. Could be the platter gets stuck or the motor gets stuck. 'Stiction' was a problem for drives back in the 80's. Unfortunately the fix can cause damage to the platter so we temporarily fix one problem by creating another. But I know of two instances where a little slap onto the table revived the iPods and they are still worked a year or more later.”UnQuote
