7.7 won't install for me

I'm assuming I need to install the 7.7 software because the CD my Mini I-pod came with in 2005 isn't working and I need my computer to recognize my I-pod. 7.7 is the softwware that would replace the CD the Ipod came with? Correct?
I tried installing it a dozen times but it keeps saying
"Installer Completed"-"The installer encountered errors before I-Tunes could be configured" "Try later".
IS there another piece of software on line I can download or can I get another CD somewhere?
Oddly enough in my quicktime Realplayer it says it recognizes the device and it also shows the Ipod is in the Real Time Player as my device but I'm not real good with computers and have no idea if one issue is related to the other.
I also looked in the folder that lets you install and uninstall programs but I don't see the Apple Ipod (Apple Itunes) which is why I assume I need a new CD or online piece of software that will work for me.
Please help!!

Firefox won't install for all users in Windows 8.1; only installs for administrator

Since moving to Windows 8.1, I have been unable to install Firefox for multiple users on this laptop. Firefox installs only for the Administrator (me), and does not appear on any other user account. When I try installing from one of the other user accounts (after entering my administrator password), it simply won't install.

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

Flash Player won't install for my firefox...

I have the latest version of firefox. I had to uninstall flash because it wasn't recent. On the flash page, I was following the instructions for the uninstall, which went fine. Now I am trying to follow instructions for the re-install, and it's not working. I click download, and then click "run" and then say "yes" when it asks to make changes to the computer. (I'm an administrator) Then the flash box comes up and it has like a preparing to install bar that loads fine, but then it gets stuck on the "retrieving install" and the bar just sits at zero percent until a message comes up that an error occured. It will stay up until I finally just exit out of it, and then it'll take me to a troubleshooting flash page. The trouble shooting page doesn't help at all, because apparently this normally isn't a problem! Does anyone know what to do?

Adaptive Agent won't install for TP1

I'm using a clean Windows XP SP2 Pro machine. It's not patched or fully updated.
I tried using the 300 MB agent complete dot net install (I ASSUME that's the one that has the .net 3.5.1 that's required)
I get a DOS box that pops up and this error:
Exiting with error code 3010
hit any key to continue.
Short of not having the .net 3.5.1 on the machine to begin with, I don't see any other system requirements for the workstation.

Strange, ran it a second time and then it worked. Perhaps it was still extracting the 300 MB file or something.

CS6 Beta won't install for me, either.

I've tried fixing permissions and restarting, as I saw worked for someone on another thread, but no dice -- same issues. I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I do have some custom ColorSync profiles. Can they be causing this? It concerns me, because I had planned on buying it when it's released, but not if it's got issues!

I'm in! The Terminal command worked. I guess the problem must've been my custom ColorSync profiles, huh? Because what that command did was delete them, leaving an empty folder. Good thing I had them backed up. It's still empty, btw, even after the install.
Funny thing is, when the installer finished, I got the same failure window I posted up top. Here was the Error Summary:

… so I figured I had gotten the same result. But the Photoshop CS6 folder had the usual folderful of files, and when I tried launching the program, it worked! THANK YOU Pattie and Ashutosh!
Now, one more dumb question (or two), that I could probably find easy enough, but since I've got your ear… Is this a 30-day trial or what? And is there a launch day set yet, when CS6 goes on sale? And, will Illustrator CS6 launch at the same time? And is there a Beta for that? And… well, that's enough.

Createjs won't install for Flash 13

As you can see from the screenshot, below, I was unable to install the Toolkit for CreateJS [ver 1.2, released 3/28/2013]. I recently upgraded to Flash 13, which is, apparently, the reason the Extention Manager is complaining. Is this what it looks like: the CreateJS Toolkit is out of sync with the latest release of Flash? Or am I missing something? [I'm running Flash 13 on Win 7 64bit]
Update: I contacted someone at customer support and they suggested that the problem might be that I was using Extension Manager CS6 and that I upgrade to Extension Manager CC. I tried that, rebooted (just in case) and then tried the download again -- same error message!

Toolkit for CreateJS has been integrated into Flash CC. You can find it under "Window" dropdown menu.

Flash player won't install for adminstrator, but will for child accounts

I use the Family Safety on our computer. We have accounts for our child, self (as administrator), and guests. Flash player shows as installed and works on the child and guest accounts. But, it does not appear as installed on my administrator account. We use McAfee for protection, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I have tried installing and uninstalling several times. I have tried installing using internet explorer and firefox. We have windows 7. I don't know what to do. It used to be installed.

Administrator account: there is no flash player listed in the Manage Add-ons list. Adobe Shockwave Flash Object is enabled. When I choose to look at all add ons, ActiveX shows up and is also enabled.

I looked in the "all add ons list" for both accounts, and there is not flash player plug in. But flash player works in the standard account. Am I missing a plugin?
Just to try it I enabled a google toolbar. Flash player still doesn't work.

Driver won't install for USB 2.0 controller in Thunderbolt chassis

I have a Thunderbolt to PCIe chassis attached to my MacBook Air. It has three PCIe slots available. Two of those slots are populated with USB 3.0 cards and these are working correctly. The third slot has a USB 2.0 card installed. This card does not work correctly. Although the card is reported as present and identified as having USB controllers on it, the drivers are not loaded so the USB ports are not visible to the Air. Also there are errors reported in /var/log/system.log which I believe are kIOReturnUnsupported from the EHCI driver. Is there a workaround for this?

No, it is not a chassis driver problem. In fact the chassis does not need additional drivers at all. There are the USB 3.0 cards in the chassis and they are functioning fine using AppleUSBXHCI.kext which is already enabled for tunneling over Thunderbolt. AppleUSBEHCI.kext is also already enabled for tunneling and should be OK for the USB 2.0 card but as you can see from the log it is throwing an error about a function not being supported.
Unfortunately there are no OS/X drivers for this USB 2.0 card however I believe (but have not yet verified for myself) that it will work when directly connected to PCIe eg in a Mac Pro. So the OS/X drivers do support it. It seems to me that the drivers support the card and are enabled for tunneling over Thunderbolt but fail for some strange reason.
FWIW I started testing on 10.8.5 and had the same symptoms.

I originall received an error that it couldnt find the rundll32.exe file in c:\windows. I found this file in c:\windows\system32, so i copied it over, but it didnt help. Then this is the error...

CC won't install

Recently purchased 5 seats of CC for my company, and have established myself as administrator. Have successfully deployed 4 licenses: 1 to myself and 3 to my staff. However, CC simply won't install for me. On my main machine, it made it through the CC desktop app and Acrobat XI, and then died on Photoshop ("patch failed to install, try back later"). On my secondary machine, made it through the desktop app and then 51% of Acrobat XI before stopping. Now install for Acrobat XI won't even initiate. As a side note, the dropdown from the desktop app on my secondary machine shows a mix of "Install" and "Try" options, when all options should be Install — I subscribed to the whole suite.
Is Adobe suffering server issues? Is something corrupted somewhere that I need to repair?

On edit of above: Additionally, the failed Acrobat installation has hosed my previous Acrobat 10 installation. Now it's insisting on my CS6 password -- which, when provided, it rejects!
Does Adobe know/care how intensely frustrating this is, and how it wrecks the credibility of Adobe's (greedy) subscription model?

However, the driver "Microsoft teredo Tunneling adapter" has a yellow exclamation mark, which i believe means it's not installed correctly or something is wrong with it. This driver is under the Network Adapters (Please see picture below).
This is what happens when I connect my iPhone 4s to my laptop (Windows 7 Starter 32-bit)
1. The phone charges it's battery
2. I can open it in My Computer and import/export media files.
In iTunes
3. It start to sync until step 3 then stops.
4. The iPhone option with an arrow appears beside the iTunes Store, but when the arrow is clicked it disappears.
I hope you can provide me a solution for this problem.

For your iTunes issue with it not recognizing your iPhone, I would go ahead and suggest deleting iTunes and all of its components from your Windows computer and installing fresh.

As far as the arrow button that you click and the iPhone disappears, it sounds like you may be clicking on the eject button. Please take a look at the following article for information on the eject button in iTunes.

I am trying to install Mavericks on my McbookAir, but it won't install, saying that my hd is used for time machine backups. I have an external HD connected to my mbAir that I'm using for time machine.

2012 Macbk air, with OSX 10.8.5. See my question above. Mavericks won't install on my Air's HD, says that both the HD - AND - the external HD (which has a different name from the laptop HD) are used for time machine backups. I've deleted my time machine plists, restarted, repaired permissions, turned time machine off, repeatedly selected the external drive in time machine preferences. HELP. (Install went perfectly on my desktop Mac, which also has an external HD for time machine).

I need to add that the only place I have the "Backups.backupdb" folder is on my backup external disk, and it's not on my HD :-( . If it were, I'd delete it!

"Add-On Software" CD for LV6.1 won't install.

Following NI Forums Knight Dan Knutson's advice to install a LV version earlier than 8.5 in order to convert 40 VIs written in LV5.1 to LV8.5.1, I attempted to install LabVIEW 6.1. There is a CD that won't install. It is the "Add-On Software" LV6.1 CD. The CD does not autoinstall when it's put in the CD drive. When I right-click the Autorun > Install icon, the installer returns, "Error. Installation failed." The CD has LabVIEW, and Measurement Studio folders, an autorun setup information file and and Eagle icon. There is no setup.exe on the installation CD main directory. Could anyone please suggest how to install the LabVIEW and Measurement Studio folders?
I tried to go into the individual sub-folders of the "Add-On Software" CD, but when I reached LabVIEW\Enterprise\SPC\Install\disk1\ and click Setup.exe, I get "Setup Installation Error. Setup has detected that UnInstallShield is in use. Please close UnInstallShield and restart Setup. Error 432." Running MSCONFIG to remove isUninst.exe from the Startup folder fails because no IsUninst.exe application runs on startup, rebooting does not help, it's not an Administrator issue because my account already has Administrator privileges, and searching the Internet does not give useful clues.
Could an expert please solve either of these two problems?

I may be confused on the topic of a Compact RIO integrated with LabVIEW version 5.1? Version 5.1 pre-dates the release of Compact RIO hardware. The Compact RIO platform uses neither NI-DAQmx, nor the Traditional NI-DAQ driver, it is built on a separate driver platform in NI-RIO. May I inquire as to why version 8.5.1 was selected for the upgrade process, and not the latest version in 2009 SP1?
As you may have experienced already, the process of upgrading across 10 releases of the LabVIEW development environment may present issues, as the environment has been significantly changed through the years. For additional information on the upgrade process please see the following information:

More realistically, does this application contain highly customized code, or functions, that are not integrated into the newer platform? With regard to hardware integration, if you intend on working with the Compact RIO platform, you will be working to develop brand new code using the LabVIEW Real-Time (and possibly LabVIEW FPGA) Module, as any code written in LabVIEW 5.1 will not support the Compact RIO platform. With respect to any additional hardware that may have been used, you will need to verify the device support in either the NI-DAQmx or Traditional DAQ releases, this information can be found at http://www.ni.com/support. I believe time spent developing on a supported platform, for the new hardware set, may be more effective than looking to directly upgrade the 5.1 code.
