7 days in and not happy

I had Infinity installed last tuesday so I'm 7 days into the service and I'm really not happy with the download speed I'm getting, before I ordered when I put my postcode in it told me I would get 33.9 Mbps, I havent hit over 24 Mbps yet, going wired isnt an option as the equipment is over the other side of the room although I did try it wired and it made no difference on the speedtest, although I'm not sure if I needed to change any settings going wired but I'm pretty sure the difference between wired and wireless wouldnt be a 9mbps difference,  I tried to download a film like my mate does on Virgin Media and it said 18 hours to download it where as he does in less than an hour, truly shocking this is, so can anyone tell me of my options if I'm unhappy with the service 7 days in to my contract.....

How was you trying to download and what type of file. Was it a torrent(p2p).

    Have just got BT Vision, I signed up a month ago but it just came (as scheduled) today to co-incide with cancelled Sky contract.
    When I got the initial marketing blurb, was told could get Sky Sports but because we are not in an infinity area, now told can't get this;   ok so disappointing.  Now on day one when I take a quick look at the BT  website I find out about YouView -  this actually would suit me far better as there  is HD there and although it does not have Sky Sports, I now don't have that with BT Vision now anyway.  So why wasn't YouView offered to me when I signed up?? I am now contractually committed to BT Vision so no way of changing  I presume???
    Not a great first day....

    Today is the official launch day for BT YouView, so you wouldn't have been offered it before today.
    You won't be able to change now i'm afraid.

    Hi, YouView is a new service that BT is a partner in. Have a look at their website for more information:

    You can buy the box through BT and you will get all the benefits of YouView and you will also have acces to the BT Vision content. It looks like BT will be fully adopting Youview next year and will be replacing their boxes with Youview boxes.
    Whilst YouView is good, I have it and love it, it is currently not for everyone. If you like sport, you cannot currently get the Sky Sports and ESPN channels through BT on the YouView box, but this will be available next year.

  • HT4623 Ipod 2 days old and not working

    I have a 2 day old ipod touch 5th generation 16GB.

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer                            
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I downloaded Mavericks and not happy with my MacBook now

    There are a couple of issues I have had since downloading Mavericks.
    Firstly, its heavily impacted on my graphics, its hard to explain, the items on my desktop breakdown into what looks like 'white noise' on a TV, their is ghosting behind applications that I open, when I open an application on top of another application when I minimise the top application the one beneath has turned to white noise.
    Second I often work on my MacBook until I leave for the train, I then just sleep it and re-open on the train. Before installing Mavericks this was fine, now more often than not the MacBook shuts down as soon as I unsleep it. The only way I can prevent this from happening seems to be to shut down all my applications before leaving the house then reopen them when I get on the train - not very convenient.
    Third, its no way running as fast as it was prior to downloading Mavericks, I thought this new OS would improve the functioning of my MacBook, but its way worse and I am getting quite frustrated with it.
    All in all, at this stage I regret switching to Mavericks. If anyone can help I would be grateful

  • Waiting on my laptop and not happy

    A little background. I purchased a G700 laptop and mouse on 12/20. I received a confirmation email from Lenovo stating that both would ship and I would receive them by 12/24. 2 hours later I received an email stating my mouse would ship and my laptop wouldn't ship until 12/24. No big deal....I can wait. On 12/23, I looked at the status to find that my mouse shipped but my laptop had "hold for customer" on it. When I chatted online with one of your support people he was clueless. What had happened was when you shipped my mouse Lenovo didn't release the authorization on my credit card. I use this card for online purchases only and keep a low balance on it so I can keep track of items and purchases easily. When you tried to auth my cc for a second laptop, while the first auth was still on there, it declined. He didn't understand this. I then called and sat for over an hour before I got a lady. She understood what I was trying to say and "sent it up the chain" to be handled. Great! Until I checked the status on 12/26. It showed I wouldn't receive my laptop until 01/30!!!!!! THIS IS COMPLETETLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I spoke to someone online again on 12/29 to see if there was anything that could be done. She told me that she was going to email the warehouse/manufacturing to get a firm ship date and I would hear from her in 24-48 hours. Well, it's 01/02 and no response from her. So I called and spoke to a guy today to get a "more firm ship date". He said unfortuneatly 01/30 was my receive date and there was nothing he could do. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was placed on hold for 5 minutes and he came back on and explained there was nothing that could be done. Your "supervisor" couldn't even talk to me!!!!!! PATHETIC! I work in a division of customer service for an international company and if a customer tells you they want to speak to a supervisor, they had better well speak to a supervisor. Your supervisors make the big money to handle irate customers like myself, not your customer service rep! Now back to the shipping issue. Having to wait until 01/30 for my laptop is unacceptable. And what's worse is it was due to your error! When I spoke to the guy today he offered me 7% off of my computer....pathetic! I was actually insulted by that offer. I must have this laptop by 01/15 or I will have to go elsewhere at this point. Something I don't want to do.

    Im not sure how you have set this up but it seems like it needs to be erased and the process started again.
    This is how to set it up on multiple devices:
    If you’ve already set up iMessage, turn it OFF on all devices. Wait for a while before proceeding to step #2.
    Now, activate iMessage on the iPhone. Only the iPhone. Configure the options if you must. But make sure that the number and email are correct and marked with a tick. Under Start Conversations from, check the email ID that you used for iMessage.
    You should now wait for a while and may be ask your friend to send you an iMessage just to make sure things are working till this point.
    Once things work normally, set up iMessage on another device. Say, the Mac. By doing this, you are setting up the iPhone as the “master-device” while the rest of the devices work as subs.
    On Mac, make sure the conversations start from the email ID.
    Repeat the process for other devices, one by one and check if iMessage gets sent to all devices correctly right after you setup the devices.

  • HT201263 I could not reach itunes just pushing home button.  I had to push home and wake/sleep at the same time. in recovery now, not sure if this will work and not happy with messed up ipad

    not sure which operating system i am using.  whatever because it messed up my ipad.  Try to follow directions from forum about connecting to store and being in recovery mode.  I was not able to connect just using the home button,  had to use home button and sleep/wake button at the same time.  finally recovering my ipad, but very unhappy that updates messed it up.  If updates are not any good, don't put them out there.

    Most likely Digitizer of Front Screen is broken or its Connector to the Logic Board has come loose. You could try a Restore with iTunes on computer. Fix is press connector back to Logic Board. Or, replace entire Front Screen Assembly. Or, take to Apple, if Genius decides it needs Out of Warranty Replacement it is $149 at the Apple Store for iPhone 4.

    From what you've written I'm not entirely sure what your actual problem is, but if it's that the touchscreen isn't responding then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Why I'm happy I bought a Verizon iPhone... and not At&t

    For years, my brothers (and we are all adults... very mature... haha) have rubbed their iphones in my face... always showing me how much better their phones were than mine.  They kept taunting me asking why I didn't get an iphone... and then smacked me with the fact that, oh yeah!  My provider doesn't have the iphone!
    Well, the glorious day came and the Verizon iphone was announced.  Whats more, I was ready for a new contract!  I was so excited!  They then had to rub in my face that their network was faster and they can do data and calls at the same time.  I countered with the more 3g and better CALL service... but of course, this didn't matter to die-hard At&t customers...
    I've had my phone since Monday, and absolutely love it.  I am absolutely thrilled with it.  Then Friday night came... the weekly dinner at the parents, where the Verizon iphone and the At&t iphone came head to head.  My on brother asked for a speed test.  Yes... At&t was faster on the iphone 4 (the verizon iphone 4 beat the at&t 3gs that my one brother still has.. he'll be ready for the 5 with his contract renewal).  There was no doubt in my mind that an iphone 4 on at&t would be faster that the one on Verizon.  I then asked how many calls they dropped this week... They had a few... I had none... a phone that serves its purpose PLUS the extras... still sounds better to me...
    Then the moment happened.  My brother's 3gs dropped a call... then couldn't make any or receive any.  He thought it was his phone because his is about 1.5 years old now...  So I called him from my verizon phone.  The call went through... then after a few minutes, his call dropped.  He tried calling my mother, who also has the at&t iphone 4... it didn't work.  She tried calling him... didn't work.  My other brother jumped in... it seemed that At&t was having network problems!  I was able to get a call through to all of them for a short period before they would drop my call. 
    As my brother finally got a call through to another at&t subscriber, he was burdened with having to say "Hello?  Hello?  Can you hear me?  Hello?  How about now?  Can you hear me now?"  I couldn't contain myself.  I pulled up my youtube and set my phone in front of him with this playing...

    The best satisfaction came when he asked to borrow my phone so that he can actually make a phone call.   Way to go verizon!  May not be the FASTEST network... but I'm happy to say that it is the most reliable!

    lol...that's priceless. i golf with 3 friends that used to be verizon users and all switched 2 years ago to get an iphone. i have an android. when they first got them, they would activate their gps golf app just because they could to show off their new toy (even though in phoenix, the courses we play HAVE gps built in to the golf carts...lol). they would input their cores into their apps that kept track of their handicap, scores, driving distance, etc (mind you, my android could do all of this as well). but then it came...we were running an hour and a half late and were meeting our wives for dinner. we play desert courses out side of the city. i called my wife to let her know we'd be late and not to show up for a while. they all 3 could not and asked to use my phone. normally i would've gladly handed it to them, but because they had been SO childish about showing off their toys i simply said "sorry...i can't. you guys all switched carriers and are now KILLIN my minutes since you are no longer in verizon's network." now i had told my wife to call their wives and pass on the message to meet us later....but i didn't tell them that because it was just WAY too much fun watching them sweat for the next 2 hours over how angry their wives were going to be that we would be at the restaurant 2 hours late.
    if you REALLY want to up your brothers, you can pay for the hotspot feature ($20/month)...just for a month. the next time they can't send or recieve data, activate your hotspot feature and tell them they are welcome to use your wifi signal from your phone to make their iphone useable again....lol. and if they ever need to borrow it to make a call just let them know that you can't because they burn all of your minutes (if you have a limit) by remaining with at&t...lol.

    1. If you are this unhappy with that phone, and the lost earbuds is the only thing stopping you from taking it back, why do not just buy some earbuds. That way you can get rid of that phone. It all depend upon how much you want to get rid of that phone.
    2. Yet if you are stuck with that iPhone, here is something might help you to control the data usage. By design, iPhones do turn off WiFi when they go dormant. So if a download is in progress and so forth when the phone goes dormant, it will switch to use cellular data, if this setting is left on. Therefore, from multi-sources I have learned that if you keep your iPhone connected to a power source, then it will stay connected to the available WiFi.

    Hi Guys We have developed an Web Template in BW 3.5 to browse quality score for our suppliers.  The selection screen is expecting to have a Vendor Code Number being input.  However, our management is not always aware of the code.  The dimension used
