70% of all album art disappeared??

You gotta be kidding me! I recently had to get a new hard drive. But I had to make a copy of my iTunes file folder & drop it back into the iTunes library. This is the only thing I can think of that may have wiped away the album art but only about 30% were gone. So I'm trying to figure out what happened & is there anyway to add the art back a little faster than going album by album adding the art back?

i know that you can select all in itunes and then choose "get album artwork"
it got all my album artwork for me...

  • Album Art Disappears after not using iPod for several days...what up?

I've searched all the forums about this, but couldn't find anything on point. Album art loads fine from itunes to the ipod. as long as i'm using the ipod regularly, there's no problem.
but, if i don't use it for awhile, some of the album art has disappeared. More album art disappears if i wait longer b/t uses (i think). This is where you turn on your ipod and you get that apple screen, then after a while the normal first screen comes up (play lists, artists, albums, etc.).
Any ideas on why this is happening and what i can do to fix it? I'm running the latest itunes and the latest ipod updater (1-10-2006 i think). It's a 30gb color ipod.
    thanks!
    jeff

You didn't mentioned the last version of iTunes ... I had a similar problem with album art but after installing iTunes 6.0.3 (with iPod updater 2006-01-10) and going thru the drill of deselecting and selecting "Display album artwork in your iPod" everything was fine.
    Hope this works.

  • Music's Album Art Disappeared

Music's album art disappeared. All of it. And I didn't even sync it or update it or anything. This just happened randomly in the middle of my day.
After I synced it to my computer, it disappeared from there too.
    So, like, what the f?
And can I get it back somehow? Or do I have to re-look up artwork for 3,000+ songs and re-upload them one by one?

Sounds very weird and talk about unintended results ...
By the by restoring the ipod is not a bid deal (although takes some time).
How about this (have not tried it) and assuming you still have artwork on your music library in itunes. Turn on manual synch mode once the ipod is connected. You should see the list of songs you actually have on the ipod. Delete every song and synch (I know, it will take time since you have 4000 + songs). and then turn back automatic synch and re-synch. May be once in manual mode, you could try re-synchinig only a portion of your library to see if it works That's the best I can think of.

  • Hi, Does anyone know how to get all album art to import from Itunes.

My Itunes Library/Media states that all album art is present and accounted for but when I sync with Itunes half of my album art on the Ipad is blank.

    Hi WIll_Maveric
To get album art to an album on iTunes:
    Go to iTunes
Right Click on the album you want to get the art for
    Click album artwork
If the songs/album can be found on the iTunes database it will add automatically
If the songs/album cannot be found on the iTunes database it will not add automatically, so I would suggest you go to the internet find the image.
Copy it and then go into iTunes
    Right click on the album/song
    Click on Get Info
    Click on Artwork
Paste the image into the box (Command v) or (Control v)P
    Then click OK
Go to your device and sync it again
You will have the artwork there.
Many Thanks for your question and allowing me to help you today.

  • ITunes 11 downloaded album art disappeared from first song of many albums

In iTunes 11. the downloaded album artwork disappeared from the first song of many of my albums.
This just randomly happened; it wasn't after an upgrade or any other noticeable event.
The artwork is still associated with all the subsequent songs of the album, just not with the first one.
I do not want to embed the artwork into the music files.
Nor do I want to "Clear Downloaded Artwork" and redo "Get Album Artwork" for the affected albums, since some of the albums are no longer in the iTunes Store, so I won't be able to download their artwork anymore.
The best that I can think of is to:
    1) remove the song that is missing the artwork from itunes without deleting the file from the hard drive
    2) in iTunes, copy another song from the same album
    3) delete the newly copied song from the hard drive without removing it from iTunes
    4) in iTunes, "Get Info" on the newly copied song, which will tell me that it can't be found, and give me the option to "Locate" the file
    5) "locate" the file by selecting from the hard drive the file for the song that was mising its artwork, and that was removed from iTunes in step 1
Unfortunately, this will remove the song's rating, play counts, etc., remove it from any playlists, and change the date added, etc.
Does anyone have a better solution?
    Thanks.

Oh ok. I have just set it to automatically pull cover art but I might try doing each track as you suggested. I just assumed this would be automatic for every track not just the first one.

  • How can I display all album art of my library in iTunes

All my music tracks in my library contain the respective album art within their ID3-tags and it is perfectly displayed in the lower left corner window when I select or play a track.
What I really would like to do is to browse through my library using the album art, not the text-based endless lists (title, album, interpret, genre etc.), then click on a cover, see the tracks and select one.
Is there a feature in iTunes already that can do that or a plug-in somewhere in the market ? (I do not need a tool that collects album art like eyejamz, but a tool to display the art I already have)
Thanks a lot for any feedback

    Bakergirl,
You can use iTunes to remove the beginning or end of a song (or both) by setting the Start and Stop times.
But to remove a section from the middle and keep the rest, you will need an audio editor such as Audacity.

  • Some of my album art disappeared after downloading iOS 8?

I checked my iTunes library after downloading the new update and I discovered that a ton of the album art on my songs are gone. When I went onto iTunes today to restore them, (I already know how to do that) it appeared that all of the art was fine. I synced my device for good measures. I went to check on my library once more, but I found that it was still the same, all blank. I tried once more and some were restored, but still a majority were blank. I know it's not a big deal, but I'm a sucker for everything all set and ready.
    iPod 5, iOS 8.0, 32 GB.

    You are not alone:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • ITunes 7.6 Downloaded Album Art Disappears

I've been using iTunes 7.6 since its release date. Today when I opened iTunes, all of the album art added through the "Get Album Artwork" feature of iTunes was missing (I could still see manually added artwork). I closed iTunes, rebooted Windows, opened iTunes and nothing had changed. Comparing "C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Album Artwork" with my backup iTunes folder showed they were the same size... so the files were still there. Interestingly, a folder named "Album Artwork" had been created in "C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music".
Does anyone know what is going on here? I was able to run "Get Album Artwork" and get back most of the artwork... but with 10,000+ songs this took a while, and I don't want to do it again...
Message was edited by: Amp300 to correct a spelling error.

Update: Also, some of the dividing panes and scroll bars have a corrupt look. Certainly not right.
Have now re-installed 7.6.1 with no luck.

  • Album art disappeared

After the recent iTunes updates (I'm now running 7.3), as well as some changes I made in file locations, all of the album art I had previously downloaded off of iTunes is gone, however the art that came with downloaded music remains. I tried to re-download it, but I keep getting the error message:
"Artwork for [album title] could not be found. An unknown error occurred (-50)."
Next, I tried deleting some of the music and importing the CD again, but when I tried to download the album art, I got the same error message.
What is causing this problem and how can I fix it and get my album art back?

Since version 7 and the introduction of the 'get artwork' feature, iTunes will fetch artwork for any music you import (as long as they have it in their store)
However, when you fetch artwork this way it seems that it doesn't get embedded in the actual file (as it is with any iTunes purchases or artwork that you manually add via 'get info - add artwork')
Instead it stores it in an iPhoto style library which resides in User/Music/iTunes in a folder named 'Album Artwork'
Next time save and copy this folder to your new iTunes folder or you can use Doug's applescript to embed the artwork into every file. available here (3rd one down)

    Hope this helps

  • How come itunes does not get all album arts works reply asap thanks

    like for
    kayne west- graduation album
it doesnt download the album artwork for it
but for others it gets it
i mean the album is already in itunes store
    whats going on
can you link me the contact page for itunes store

iTunes will connect to Apple's servers to get the album art. As for iTunes not getting the art for all your albums, I don't know why this happens. Usually this happens if the albums are not on the iTunes store - but your case seems to be different.
Here's what I do: If you really want your cover art, you can use Google's image search to manually download it. In iTunes' grid view, right-click on the album in question, click "Get Info" and then say "Yes". In the Info tab, double click on the white box under "Artwork" (in the lower right corner) and manually navigate over to your artwork file. Select it, press open or double click, then click OK. Since you selected the whole album, iTunes will embed the artwork into all the files on your album. The next time you sync, it will also appear on your device(s).
Have a good time getting your artwork! Hope this helps
Edit: There may be times when iTunes will not edit your files after you click OK. This may be a problem with the permissions of the folder where your files are located. Let me know if this happens.

  • Front Row not displaying all Album Art

Hi, I recently bought a Macbook Pro and imported all the music I had to it. I started downloading all the album arts for all my albums, and finally placed them all in order. They look perfect in iTunes in Coverflow.
Then, when I started Front Row, I noticed that not all of my songs displayed an Album Art, only some of them. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

  • Lost all album art after moving library to new HD

So, I found that my iTunes library was growing too big for my primary hd. I added an extra internal HD and followed the instructions on how to move my iTunes library found here (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301748). Everything seemed to come over ok (playlists, play counts) except for my album art. All of it has gone missing. I can't possibly add all that art in again. Can anyone tell me how to get my art back (I still have the original iTunes folder on my primary HD) or what I did wrong in moving the library.
    Thanks
    P.S. I'm running iTunes 6.0.1 on a G5 with 10.4.3
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

OK Ive attempted all the suggestions mentioned here but have still had no luck. I deleted all the original iTunes docs on my Mac and rebooted etc but iTunes is still refusing to ignore the new iTunes folder on my new external HD, even though it is already connected.
I also tried to import the songs back into iTunes by creating a new iTunes folder on my ext HD but it just seems to create a duplicate of the folder Im trying to get iTunes to recognise and I cant see the point in waiting another 12hrs to import the songs again just so iTunes can recreate a duplicate of what I already have !
Heres how Ive directed iTunes to the folder using prefs :
    NewHD/Music/iTunes/iTunesMusic
and then in the iTunesMusic folder are the artists folders and then inside of them are the album folders for each artist.
I also had a bunch of other stuff in my iTunes folder that I have tried iTunes with the items still in the folder and them taken out, heres what they are :
Album Artwork Folder (But this has been recreated on my Mac since I reset iTunes)
    iTunes Export Text File
iTunes Library Data File (Again recreated on my Mac since resetting iTunes)
iTunes Music Library.xml File (Again recreated on my Mac since resetting iTunes)
Previous iTunes Libraries Folder containing 3 iTunes Library Data Files named iTunes 4 Music Library, iTunes Library 2005-9-8 and iTunes Library 2006-09-12.
As I have said I have tried iTunes both with these files and without unless Im using them in the wrong place.
Can any please possibly help me with my situation and the placement of the right files in the right place as I do not wish to have to go through the process of re-importing especially when all iTunes is going to do is recreate something that I already have ... many thanks

  • Album art disappears from ipod touch

Album art for both complete albums and single songs often disappears from the device when uploading new music. However, the art work still appears when you look at the individual songs; i.e., when the device is connected to the computer, you open iTunes, highlight a song and click Apple-I > Artwork.
Also, song order for albums and playlists often gets thrown out of whack. Songs ends up alphabetized.

I just thought about if the music file recognize the song on iTunes store OR every song file that you have album art on then that should be no problem, the only problem is when some of the music/song which is not from iTunes store or they don't have any information for the song, so that will not have album art show up on any of your ipod device unless you add the album art yourself on iTunes when you import song into your iTunes from the file in your computer.
    cheers

  • Album art disappeared off iPod! Won't go back on! Please help-

This is frustrating beyond belief! Anyway, this is how it went down:
I was updating & synching my iPod (the new iPod video version, 80GB) as usual. Bored, I was looking around in the different tabs while I waited. On the music tab, I saw a check box that said "Display album artwork on you iPod" and it was unchecked. Confused by this, as my album art had always shown up before, I figured I might as well check it just in case to keep my album art ON my iPod. :O Seemed like an okay idea at the time, but the second I clicked "Apply" my iPod started synching with the message "Deleting Album Artwork from iPod" (or something basically like that". I was like HOLY CRAP that's not what I wanted (more like exactly the opposite...), so I clicked "Cancel" but the darn thing continued and finished anyway. Turning on my iPod, I found that indeed all my album art was gone and all my text was center justified, as if it had never existed. (While it's all still there in my Library, displaying just fine~)
So I figured I better uncheck that box (even though it was called "Display album artwork" in the first place) and try to undo what had just happened. I did and on the next synch, it said something like "Optimizing Album Artwork for iPod" and I thought YAY. Maybe it's going back on. But the synch lasted only a few minutes (not seeming long enough for 4,000+ songs worth of artwork to get on there) and, again, when I turned my iPod back on the album artwork was STILL not back on, this time my text being completely left justified (like there SHOULD be artwork) but there was nothing else there...
I've always been a stickler for my library, making sure all my albums are organized and have artwork (often making my own when I can't find it) and I will be VERY upset if I can't figure out a way to get it to display on my iPod again!!! TT__TT I'm so sad. Now both checking or unchecking that box that started this in the "Music" tab do absolutely nothing, and nothing seems to put my artwork back on. Please, if anybody can suggest anything, I would be SO grateful... (Restoring the iPod is the only other thing I can think of [it's software is completely up to date[ and I really don't have the time for that right now.)

Sounds very weird and talk about unintended results ...

  • Any idea why my album art disappeared?

I'm new to this whole podcasting thing. My first episode went up with no issue. When I went to check for my second episode, I noticed it updated. But my album art was missing on the iTunes store. I thought it might have been cause I deleted the image from where it was being hosted. I checked and that wasn't the case. Though It might have been cause I put the image incorrectly into the second episode. So I ended up mixing it down and re submitting it. No dice. But I notice my album art is still there on things like stitcher. Help?

    Your feed is actually at
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/AzerothPrespective
(note that you managed to spell it wrongly somehow, so you are stuck with that - it's only the URL so it doesn't matter).
The image is correctly referenced and is on the server, so it's just a matter of waiting for the Store to sort itself out. Several people have complained about this sort of thing recently, so there may be some sort of hiccup going on.
