70" Vizio smart tv

I purchased a 70" vizio smart tv for 2000.00 about a year ago from best buy. While purchasing the television the sales rep asked me if I wanted to purchse the warranty plan that included accidental coverage (this happened when bb had black tie). I paid a couple hundred EXTRA dollars for the warranty. As I was turning my television to reduce glare the screen cracked. I called BB as was told my warranty did not cover accidents. I was lied to by BB to get extra money for the "accidental" coverage that doesnt exist. I have purchased many items from BB (I literally spend a couple thousand at the store every year). I will never purchase anything from BB again. I feel you stole from me!

Having a 70” TV screen crack while trying to simply turn it to reduce glare would be an absolutely infuriating experience. Our associates should certainly not be providing any misinformation about what our Geek Squad Protection plan covers, as coverage varies from product to product.
Accidental Damage from Handling is generally included in our plans for portable devices such as cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc. that are at a higher risk of being dropped or spilled on. Plans for products that are expected to be stationary, such as desktop computers or televisions, typically do not have the Accidental Damage from Handling coverage. That being said, the Geek Squad Protection plan terms and conditions that you would have agreed to upon purchase would not include protection from damage such as the cracked screen.

    What model is your TC? What is the firmware?
    I recommend you do a factory reset and use short names.. not apple recommended names.
    Short.. 2-20 characters .. less than 10 even better.
    No spaces.
    Pure alphanumeric.
    Set fixed channels for 2.4ghz wireless.. test with 11, 6, 1 at least.
    That often helps.. if not and is old, ie Gen1-4 go back to 7.6.1 firmware which is far more solid.

    I recently purchased a Vizio Smart TV and immediately downloaded the Spotify application for it, since I can easily stream to my sound system from it. One thing that I would like to see added to the TV application would be a screen saver function. Screen burn is a big concern for a lot of people and simply adding a moving spotify logo could negate this concern.

    What's the issue that you happen to be experiencing? Is there any kind of error message you're receiving?
    If you're getting incorrect password messages, confirm that you're typing in the correct password. Confirm by looking on the side of your gateway for the default wireless password(typically on a yellow sticker). Don't forget that wireless passwords are case sensitive.

    Hey! Hey! Hey! How can you say Sony Smart TV is the worst of all the Smartest TVs in the world? Please try to appreciate some times and if you must know, one of the reason that Sony is backing out from its OLED TV tech for now is because it wants to gain competitive advantage over its Smart BRAVIA TV. That’s why, if you look at Sony’s Smart TV, you will noticed some luxurious quality that the others don't have. But then, the Smart TV brands are equally great as well.

  • Vizio smart Tv won't stay connected to my linksys e1200 while playing Netflix

    I have a Vizio Smart TV and just over the last couple of days I cannot seem to get it to stay connect to my Linksys e1200 router.  I will start a movie on Netflix and it will play for about 10 minutes and then disconnect.  I talked to somebody in Cisco Linksys Customer support and they said that the problem had something to do with IP Addresses.  I have no idea what he was talking about.  All I know is last week I could watch an entire movie without losing connection and this week it only stays connect for 10 minutes and then I have to turn the TV off to re-connect.

    Umman, is your Smart TV wirelessly connected to the router? There may be an interfering wireless signal in the area that interrupts the connection. Try changing the router's wireless channels to avoid interference.

  • Vizio smart tv will not let me get to the airport utility router

    I recently installed a Airport Express router, it works great for all of the computers in our home.  However, I have a Vizio Smart TV and can not log in to watch Netflix or any of the other installed apps.  When I set up the Network I can select the correct network and connect but will not go thru the final step of reaching the router.  I tried plugging into the router with an ethernet cable and it worked perfect, but will not go through wirelessly.

    Thank you very much, I was able to solve this issue last night by enabling the guest network and removing security from the guest network only.  Connected and then went back and added security to the guest network works great now.

  • Accessing Netflix via Smart TV connected to FIOS

    I have a Vizio Smart TV that has several built-in apps, including Netflix streaming video.  The Smart TV is connected to my WiFi in the house and I can access every app (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Hulu, etc.) that needs Internet access through it except Netflix.  I can get to my Netflix account from my laptop, PC, iPad, iPhone through my WiFi, just not from the Smart TV.  Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?  I have not yet contacted Verizon technical service; will be doing that soon.  Thanks for any insight others may have on this.  It's perplexing.

    If every other computer on you network can access netflix and all othe apps on the TV are getting internet access, dont call verizon tech! Other than rebooting, resetting and reconnecting there isnt much else they will do. Start with Vizio. They will be able to Troubleshoot you TV.

  • Which TV CAM to get for Skype on a 2014 Vizio TV e...

    I'm having a problem getting skype on my new vizio tv. It's a smart TV, but the vizio/yahoo apps doesnt have Skype. There aren't that many Skype Tv Cams in store and the ones online are hard to figure out if they will work with our tv brand or not. Any recommendations for TV cams that work with skype and vizio??

    The Skype App on Vizio Smart TVs was developed and deployed by Vizio themselves.
    If your TV still has the Skype App on it, then the camera you have should still work on your TV. The camera model should be QSG_XCV100 http://cdn.vizio.com/documents/downloads/accessories/XCV100/QSG_XCV100.pdf
    If you do have the app, but the camera isn't working then I would suggest that you contact Vizio directly for support.

  • VIZIO 55" connection to old Kenwood Speakers

    I really want to be able to hook up my old speakers threw my amp/tuner to the new Vizio smart 55 inch TV I just bought. But it appears the input on the TV has a new Digital/Audio connection. When I went to check and buy the new connection the ends were both the same new connection. I would need a old RCA connection one one end or something like that to be able to attach to my old amp, or at least find a Digital/Audio - RCA adapter connection to connect both the lines together to be able to attach the old speakers threw the Amp to the Vizio 55" smart TV.  I really would like to hook up my Speakers but  will settle for the $89 Sound Bar and a reasonable Sub-Woofer. (My Speakers are Two Kenwood Model KL-7080 Multi-Channel 5 way 6 speaker system power 80 watt max. impedance 80 ohmes. Cross Freqs 600 2000 5000 10000 Hz.)  That is a big difference!
    Someone please help.  It has been quite some time since I dealt with enertainment systems and I am lost. 

    I had this exact problem, while  trying to hook up my new Sony BDP B510 blu-ray player  to my old Sony STR-D610 receiver. I bought a digital to analog converter as was receommended to you here in this forum.
    But know this: the sound is rather different with the converter in place, rather than using a sound-bar or upgrading a receiver (as I am about to do).  By different I mean, with the converter: you are taking a sound signal of multiple channels and squeezing them into 2.  Some of the details WILL GET LOST and there will be noticible loss of what I will call 'sound completeness quality'.  It isn't surround: it's a mono/bi-aural left/right signal only with no depth.
    I'm loyal to Sony: my H.T. receiver (STR-D615) which I bought over 15 years ago still works great!  But I also want to enjoy my blu-ray movies with the sound that completes the picture; -so as soon as I find a price of $498.00 or less on a new sony STR-DN1040, I'll be retiring the old vestigaes of my college days and bring  in something that better enables my 10 year old niece to BLARE her One Direction throughout my home?!? This is what getting older is all about. . .

    TV no longer connects to wireless Wi-Fi internet after installation of AirPort Time Capsule.

    I am having a similar problem with a new TIme Capsule. The wifi on the Time Capsule was working fine for months with all devices, iPhone 4s, iPad Air, iMac Air, Mac mini, and vizio smart TVs.  After a recent software update the Time capsule wifi no longer connects to the smart tvs or the iPhones. It still connects to the mac mini, iPad and iMac Air. I do NOT think the software update timing was just coincidental. But I have not found any information or other users confirming a similar problem on the Apple support site.

  • Photosmart C4780 install fails at "system cannot find specified file"

    My problem started simply with the printer, an HP Photosmart C4780 which has always had a wireless connection and would not print.  At first, the network connection checked out fine from the printer control panel.  I ran a Microsoft printer troubleshooter, which found a block in the print queue, and cleared it.  The first test page would not print, but the "inner test page" did print.  I didn't understand whatever that meant, so I looked for help from the HP site.
    I ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor, and it suggested I reinstall the driver.  I downloaded and saved the current one from HP (PS_AIO_06_C4700_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_175.exe) and then uninstalled the existing driver.  When I attempted to install the new one, a window popped up saying, "The system cannot find the specified file," with only one box to click which said simply "OK".  The installation went through to "review installation options", after which came “checking updates, downloading updates, installing updates” and then it was while “checking system” that the “cannot find the file” window popped up, and when I clicked “OK”, the installation window as well as the error message box, just disappeared.  What I assume was the file path was in the frame of the window, but the whole thing didn't fit so it didn't show the end.  What I could read was “C:\Users\ … \Local\Temp\7zS588E\Setup\.\Setup\hpzpnp40 …
    I found one topic on the same problem for the same model printer in the forum, which offered this fix:
    You will need to first complete a level 3 uninstall of the software. I have included the steps below for this.
    1. Press the Windows key, and the letter R
    2. Type %temp%, and click OK
    3. Open the 7z folder (most recent one if there are multiples)
    4. Open the util folder
    5. Open the ccc folder
    6. Double click on the Uninstall_L3
    Once the Uninstall_L3 has completed, please delete all items listed in the temp folder. Note, you will  not be able to to delete all items, please skip the ones that you cannot. Next please empty the trash, and perform a clean boot. I have included the document 'How to perform a clean boot in Windows'. If your computer does not request it, please restart your computer.
    Once your computer is back up, you will need to reinstall the printers software. You can either do this by using the Installation CD, or downloading the software.
    I did what was suggested, until it got to the point where it said it did not recommend removing any further items if I intended on using the HP Officejet printer (yes I have a second HP printer attached to the network) anytime in the future.  Not really understanding how this all works, I decided to stop what I was doing, so unfortunately it did not solve my problem.
    Do I need to uninstall both HP printers before I can reinstall one?  And if I do that, is there any reason I would not be able to reinstall both printers?  Sounds like I'm asking for trouble.  Bottom line... I still cannot install the driver.
    I have tried to install both the full and basic versions of the driver and always get the same result.
    I have an HP Pavilion dv6-3100t notebook, running Windows 7 Home Premium, version 6.1.7601 service pack 1, 64 bit.  I haven't installed any new hardware or software.  This printer has always had a wireless connection.  The router I use is a Netgear 54 Mbps WGR614 v6 (supplied by my cable company), and the network includes not only my notebook and the Photosmart printer, but also an ASUS desktop, another HP printer, an Officejet 6300 series (used only for printing graphics and photos with a wired connection to the router), and a Vizio smart-TV.  I use Norton 360 Premier Edition and disabled the anti-virus auto-protect when I downloaded and attempted to install the driver.
    Please help!  And thanks in advance for your time and attention.

    I would recommend accessing your Temp folders, rename a Temp folder to 7zS588E and run the installation from that folder.
