701 doesnt show battery percent during shut down

I have nokia 701 with feature pack 1,
i remember that when I turned it off, on the upper corner, a special small window would pop up telling me i have X% left of the battery.
For example, if i had about 45 % left when turned off, the window would pop up for a second or so, showing
40%
It doesnt do it anymore, for quite some time. I dont know, maybe it's since I updated it to FP1 ? Is there any option in settings to bring it back ? that's a great little feature. I dont know what's happening with nokia, removing good features . like they remove the front camera on FP2. **bleep**? People cant take pics of themselves now?
THAX.

You can download front camera apps from Nokia store.
For battety level indication, download battery monitor app from Nokia store.

My iPhone with 40 or so percent randomly shuts down with iOS 7 and 6. Often with the camera app stating the phone is out of battery.  Moments later I turn it back on and the same battery life still appears.  It sometimes happens over and over until I leave it alone for a while (still not charging), and then it works.

I think you might get a new phone instead of repairing it as it takes time and you said the repairing center is far from your living place

  • Laptop battery drains after shut down

Hi, I have bought hp pavilion 15-no28se  six months back,
Its working good, but one issue is contantly irritating me, it is due to its battery drainage after shut down overnight. It almost drains 8-10 percent withing 12 hours. Whereas, I properly shut down it and caliberated as well, but of no use. Although, battery status is OK, and I think battery is fine becasue once I took out battery from laptop for 24 hours, then inserted again and checked it and not a single percent dropped down.
I am so tense that why it is draining when battery works well and properly shut down? Please guide me on this.I am waiting..

    Hello again rocket_sc,
I hope you had a great weekend!
To test, calibrate, and re-synchronize your battery you will need to first follow the steps in this document on Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 8). Once this is completed, and the battery continues to drain, then you can move to re-install the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
I understand that this process can be a little overwhelming, but not to worry! I would gladly expand on the steps provided above!
To answer your first question: you are not uninstalling the software as you would from Programs and Features (like uninstalling software downloaded from a CD). Instead, you are removing small driver components removable from the Device Manager.
To get the Device Manager, please follow the steps below:
Step 1. Go to Device Manager:
    a. Press the  and type "Device Manager"
    b. Click the Device Manager tab on the top right-hand side.
    c. The Device Manager should be open.
    Step 2. Select Batteries:
    a. Click the right-facing triangle to the left hand side of "batteries"
Step 3. Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there
    a. If you see any duplicates of the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery", please select them both.
    Step 4. Click Uninstall
    a. You might also see an option that says "disable." Please disregard this option, and click on Uninstall.
Step 5. At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver
    Step 6. Restart the computer
Step 7: Remove the battery for one minute and then put it back in
When the computer comes back up it should automatically find and install the driver.
Step 8. Go to Device Manager
    a. Press the  and type "Device Manager"
    b. Click the Device Manager tab on the top right-hand side.
    c. The Device Manager should be open.
    Step 9. Select Batteries
    a. Click the right-facing triangle to the left hand side of "batteries"
Step 10. Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there (there should only be one).
Step 11. Click "Update Driver Software"
Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.
    a. If you do not see this parcel of software in the Device Manager, please skip this step. If you do, the same steps would include:
    * Right-clicking this device driver in the Device Manager
    * Click on "uninstall"
    * Put a check in the box next to "remove the current driver" and pressing "ok"
    * Restarting the computer
    * Remove the battery for one minute, then re-insert it
    * Return to the Device Manager
    * Right-clicking the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller
    * Click "update driver software"
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

I did a soft reset, and I went to the discussion and turned every down or off.  This is definitely a hardware problem.

  • Brand-spanking new battery, but still shuts down when unplugged!!

A few days ago, my 2006 MacBook would shut down when I disconnect it from the power adapter. To restart the laptop, I must have the power adapter connected. That gray screen with the apple stays longer than usual, ~5 seconds. I reset the SMC, PRAM, and checked the battery condition in the System Profiler. It had 500 charge cycles, so I went ahead and bought a new battery.
PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED. Even with a brand new, fully charged battery, the laptop shuts down when I disconnect the power adapter. I used my boyfriend's adapter to charge the battery and the issue persists. I did the whole resetting stuff, no luck. Battery is on charge cycle 2 and in normal condition. I'm up to date on software updates.
Anybody know what is going on and how to resolve this??? Please help!

Okay, and you've done the various resets, so the next things that come to mind are:
    1) Bad DC-in board, which is the Magsafe Board in the newer machines. Instructions for replacement are here(you can also order parts & tools): http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Installing-MacBook-Core-2-Duo-Magsafe-Board/5 20/1. Obviously, if your machine is in warranty, have the Apple store fix the computer.
    2) Faulty logicboard. If this is the case, you want to just work with the computer as-is, or sell it and invest the money in a new machine.

When the battery died on my MacBook Pro it shut down. When I powered back up the machine went back to the original startup configuration. I could not access my data. I know it is there as I ran the disk utility and it shows the drive is almost full. Can anyone help me recover my data?

Hi johndiiullo: Before the MacBook Pro shut down, did you happen to change the "Short Name" of the computer? If so check here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107854

  • Battery issue, random shut downs for no reason

Okay, so I've had a MacBook for about 3 1/2 years now. The old battery I had that came with it had clearly run out of cycles because the computer could only last for five minutes without being plugged in. But when plugged in, it worked fine.
So, about a week ago, I ordered a new battery and got a generic one off Ebay b/c the "official" Apple batteries are $120, whereas generics are around $40. I'd rather buy the Apple part, but frankly, the amount that Apple charges for replacement parts is completely ridiculous.
In any case, the battery worked fine for several days and then in the last three days, the computer just shuts off randomly with no warning. It can be plugged in or not plugged in, it doesn't seem to matter. Sometimes I turn it on and it's fine for two hours before this happens and other times it turns off in 5 or 10 minutes. It seems like it must be the battery since that is the only thing that has changed in the last couple weeks. And the display is always telling me I have plenty of juice (between 80% and 98% when it shuts off). It recognizes the battery, calculates the time left, and does not give me an "x" but shows it to be charging when plugged in.
To test to see if it was the battery, I put back in the original MacBook battery. Even though it has no juice, I could previously use my MacBook without issue as long as it was plugged in. But again, I encountered the same issues with sudden and unexplained shut downs at seemingly random intervals whether it was plugged in or not. Just a sudden click, my screen goes black, and the power is off.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this or approach fixing it? I thought it might be an issue of a dud battery, but that wouldn't explain why the original battery doesn't work now. Any solutions? Anyone else had this problem?
Any help or pointers would be invaluable. Thanks so much.

    Hi Eloco,
Smart idea to try putting the old battery back into the machine, that was going to be my first recommendation in component isolation. Next step... reset the SMC.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
I'd say reset the PRAM but I given what is that the PRAM controls, I don't see any change in system performance as a result of resetting it.
It's possible, that the issue is with the machine (the battery is just coincidental). With that being said, given the age of the machine you're outside of any AppleCare coverage... even if you had it.
There are three areas I'd consider further troubleshooting, whether you decide to do it yourself or go the route of a service center:
1.) The battery connector (sleep switch adapter)
    2.) The MagSafe board/DC-In board
    3.) The logic board
I'd recommend in that order, as well, ironically the service parts also go from less to significantly more as you move down the list.
    Good luck!

  • MacBook battery 100% charged, shut down, 8 hours later found no charge.

I fully charged my computer last night and shut it down. When I got this morning and went to turn it on, I was unable to. I plugged in the powercord and discovered that the battery had completely drained.
Has this happened to anyone else?
    Any ideas why this happened?
    Thanks.

As the previous poster suggested, my guess is that you didn't actually succeed in shutting it down.
Because the MacBook has a sudden motion sensor, if you move the MacBook during the shutdown process, shutdown may not complete and the MacBook stays on.
Best advice: when shutting down be sure shutdown is complete before moving the MacBook or closing it's lid.
This is really important before bagging a notebook computer. It is not a pretty sight when they wake up unexpectedly in a bag with no air flow.

  • No low battery warning and shut down

My MacBook is no longer showing the "low battery" warning and even with the batery status showing charge suddenly shuts down. If I check manually pressing the button of the bettery flashes 2 or 3 lights.
I have calibrated the battery several times but i am having problems doing it again because after the shut down there is still charge in the battery.
I have OS X 10.5.8 and all the software updates done.
    Thanks.
    Dan

  • New MBP 2.6Ghz, can not keep battery life when shut down

    Hi
Just got my MBP 2.6Ghz, 2Gb Ram yesterday (waited more than 4 weeks on it), and already i got a problem..
After getting the MBP, i charged the battery to 100% (magsafe was green, and OS X said 100%), i had to shut down for the night (removed the power, and packed the mbp in my second skin), after 7 hours i turnd on my MBP and the battery life is now 86%, i recharde the battery to 100% and shut it down again and went to work.. after 10 hours work i turn on my MBP and the battery life i now 70%..
Why i my new MBP loosing battery when it i shut down (it is not on sleep, but shut down from the finder menu)
already checked my firmware and battery version:
    Battery: v 1.3
    Bootrom: v. MBP31.0070.B05
    SMC: v. 1.16f10
all updates from the software update is installed

I think you did the process wrong. Try follow this:
    1) Plug in the power adapter and fully charge your PowerBook's battery until the light ring or LED on the power adapter plug changes to green and the onscreen meter in the menu bar indicates that the battery is fully charged.
    2) Allow the battery to rest in the fully charged state for at least two hours. You may use your computer during this time as long as the adapter is plugged in.
    3) Disconnect the power adapter with the computer still on and start running the computer off battery power. You may use your computer during this time. When your battery gets low, you will see the low battery warning dialog on the screen.
    4) Continue to keep your computer on until it goes to sleep. Save all your work and close all applications when the battery gets very low, before the computer goes to sleep.
    5) Turn off the computer or allow it to sleep for five hours or more.
    6) Connect the power adapter and leave it connected until the battery is fully charged again
