701 Mail, Calendar, Social network and Web bug.

Hello
im pretty satisfied with my 701 but just right now i started to experience bugs. let me explain
Calendar- sometime (always when i go through widget) when i open a calendar, it opens a speciffic day (the one that is actual), and im unable to select month or any other view point, and i cannot see any of my notes in the calendar until i restart my phone.
Mail- widget sometimes doesnt refresh inbox even though i have it set on 15 mins. (happend last time for a week. thought i had no mail, instead i found 10 new messages.) also sometimes my mailbox wont open using widget, only with a normal Email icon.
Social network just doesnt want to open at all. says (in translation something like "Unable to launch the client"
Web- even though i have 3g network signal and mobile data are turned ON, opera mobile, and Web client (the nokia one) both cannot connect to the internet for some time.
i tried backing up my phone data (not applications only galery, phonebook, music, ebooks etc and videos) and erasing (reseting) my settings. when i turned my phone on again, it asked me to enter time, date, my nokia account etc. as if i just bought the phone. then i loaded my backup files. email looks like its working again, calendar got stuck just today again... social network still doesnt work, web still cannot connect to 3g network sometimes..
dunno what else to try, starting to be little angry, since calendar and web are the things i use more often then sms and calls.
is this common? will there be an update to fix this? or is there a simple solution to my prob?
i would add an attachment supplying info about my phone but i have no idea where to get such file.
thanks for help.

  • Nokia 5800 Social Network and Internet/Email conce...

Having owned the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic for a couple of months or so, I must say that I really like the phone and it has great functionality.
My main concerns/issues however are outlined below:
    1. Facebook for Nokia app is slow, does not show all of the functions that m.facebook.com shows and isn't a homescreen widget (e.g. push notifications)
    2. Communities app is even slower and again does not have the functionality of m.facebook.com and doesn't show notifications at all!
    3. The Nokia Messaging app insists on connecting to 3G all the time, rather than a wifi connection when available. I've also experienced intermittent issues when trying to connect (sometimes it stays offline and even selecting 'Go online' doesn't wake the program up).
    4. Default web browser keeps crashing and doesn't support larger websites (I experience intermittent crashes as well as memory issues). I do not receive such issues in Opera Mobile. I also dislike the defaulting to full screen mode all the time. If you turn full screen off, as soon as you navigate to a different page it goes back to full screen again, therefore increasing the activity on the phone and it takes longer to load the page before you can scroll or click another link.
I think I've covered all of my main concerns but in essence this device really needs better app support and social networking integration.
I would be grateful if I could be given an update on if/when we can expect to receive such support.
If anyone else agrees, please indicate below along with any additional feature requests relating to this topic.
Thank you for your time in reading this post.

    bump
Same issues here, facebook is almost unuably slow (it's quicker to boot up the laptop!)
Messeging will not use wifi and i have a limited data plan so can't use it for attachments.
Web browser randomly exits for no reaseon and the lack of width adjustment is infuriating
Now ovi store's won't let me download!

  • Block or Quarantine e-mail from Social Networks

Is there some option how can I block all e-mail messages from all knows Social Networks (facebook, google+, infoaxe, myspace...)
Or at least all auto sended e-mail like
    Is [email protected] you friend...
    or
[email protected] has indicated you're a frined. Accept?
    and so on
I lower spam filter on Suspected Spam score 40 and it doesent catch them.
How to block this kind of SPAM messages?
Also how to block low volume SPAM messages from gmail that are selling things and self promotions?

    Hello Juraj,
Have you tried to enable marketing mail?
Marketing Email is a mode of promoting products and services via Email. Even though marketing messages are not considered spam, your organization or end-users may not want to receive them. Marketing messages are messages that are NOT Spam, do NOT contain Email transactions and does NOT reflect communication between parties. Example of a Marketing message is an Airline promoting their products and services via an Email but an Airline confirmation email to a user is not a marketing message.
What is Marketing Detection and How it works?
In AsyncOS 7.0.x for Email and above Cisco IronPort has introduced a new feature Unwanted Marketing Message Detection. When enabled along with IronPort Anti-Spam or IronPort Intelligent Multi-Scan this feature can distinguish between Spam and Unwanted Marketing Messages. Like spam, you have the option to deliver, drop or bounce unwanted marketing messages. You also have the option to tag unwanted marketing messages by adding text to the message’s subject to identify it as marketing.
The Unwanted Marketing Message Detection feature in AsyncOS for Email can be configured via Per Recipient Policies for Anti-Spam. The Marketing Detection feature like Anti-Spam configuration allows you to drop, deliver or bounce after a message is detected as Marketing Email. For better detection and low False Positive rate it is highly recommended to use the "Tag and Deliver" action after a message is detected as Marketing Email by IronPort Anti-Spam or IronPort Intelligent Multi-Scan.
Cisco IronPort highly recommends customers to take advantage of this new Marketing Detection feature to detect Unwanted Marketing Email and enhance the end user Email experience.
    How do you enable it?
Go to Mail Policies -> Incoming Mail Policies
Select the link under Anti-Spam for your Default mail policy
Under 'Marketing Email Settings' select 'Yes' for 'Enable Marketing Email Scanning'
Select the desired action under 'Apply This Action to Message'
        Submit your changes
Repeat steps 2 to 5 for any other applicable mail policies.
        Commit your changes.

  • My HP 6500A Plus is connected to wireless network and web services but won't print email or code

I have my HP 6500A Plus connected to my wireless network and it is registered on the HP Web Services but it will not print the printer email address or code.  I have followed the directions.  I would appreciate your help in this matter.  Dave

    Hey ddwilson9999,
If your printer is telling you that it cannot connect to the server, try these steps.
    1. Find your printer's IP address by printing a network configuration page.
    2. Type you IP address into the address bar of your web browser.
    3. Click on the network tab at the top of the page.
    4. Look at the left hand side and click IPv4 under wireless.
    5. Change the IP settings to Manual.
    6. Enter the printer's IP address, your subnet mask, and your routers IP address or default gateway in the spaces.
    7. Set the Preferred DNS to 8.8.8.8.
    8. Set the Alternate DNS to 8.8.4.4.
    9. Click apply.(You may need to refresh the page if it says processing for longer than a min and click apply again.)
    10. Now try to print the information page.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
If I have resolved your issue, feel free to provide Kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided.

  • Nokia 701 menu button not working and other bugs

    I have a "brand new" 701 with 111.020.0307 that won't update to 111.030.0609 because I'm in Italy .
Now I have a really annoying bug: the menu key, sometimes, stops working and won't bring up the menu if pressed briefly, and won't bring up the task list either (when pressed long).
Anyone experiencing this bug? The only way I found to make it work again is turn off and on again my phone... And the task list can't be found in menus, AFAIK. I could do that with my old 5800XM...
I bought my phone ONE WEEK ago... I really wouldn't like to format/reinstall already! Ideas?

soft reset may solve it. Look in settings and phone management.
Dont have to do a hard reset first. After soft reset, try reinstall the latest firmware through nokia suite if soft reset didnt solve your problem..
I have 701 and I am impressed overall with the device. Actually... I am very pleased with it.

I am planning to buy Mac Pro to use as Server (actually we are using Windows XP Pro computer as server). We already check to buy a Dell PowerEdge SC1430 and Windows Server 2003, but now I am considering replace with Mac Pro.

first issue just appeared out of nowhere a week after I finally got it running.  There is a network error every time I start the system, if I restart it goes away.
I"m  having audio problems, the speakers in my monitor work with the hdmi cable, but I am unable to use my good speakers, when I plug them into the back panel line out, there is no audio from any port, or the hdmi cable.
I've also noticed a device without a driver error

win8 is a 32b version, it was a 39.95 upgrade directly from microsoft...  safe to assume that the 64b version is worth the extra $?
have the board in a brand new case using 9 stand offs, all with screws through the board and into them.
The NIC is onboard, all the drivers are up to date except the audio, I'm downloading an updated driver for it (released 1/25/13)
left the machine turned on when I went to bed, when I got up the power led was blinking, and I had to press the power button to wake the machine.  this web page was open, but there was no network available, same error as above, I had to restart windows to get online.
Edit: the updated driver fixed the audio problem

  • Mail, Calendar, Weather, News, and maybe other modern apps are crashing after updating from 10061 to 10074.

I don't remember these issues in the announcement of the build. Any help?
Spartan crashes sometimes too, but not like these. These can't even start.
Funny thing is that tech support app crashes as well.

    JK
There is a known issue with the people app but none for the others .  You may want to uninstall the mail calender, people apps using powershell as they did in 41 and then re-install them. You may want to run a system file check to verify the state of
    the OS
Please run a system file check (SFC) & DISM if you are on win 8 or higher

  • Having trouble with social networks and connection issues

My iPad won't load any pictures on facebooks website, or the app. It will load google pictures but on Facebook they come up as a blue question mark and it also won't let me log into intagram or snapchat, it says check your network connection. Also my app store won't load. Is there anyway to fix this? I restarted my iPad multiple times and cleared all cookies and data but it didn't help. I had a provisioning profile from an GBA emulator awhile back and  I deleted the emulator but not the profile. I recently tried to download  the emulator again and this is when problems started. I deleted the profile but nothing seems to work. I have an IPad 2, is there anyway to fix this without going to Apple? I'm not good with all this tech stuff

Your post indicates you have used Cydia, which is a software application for iOS that enables a user to find and install software packages on jailbroken iOS Apple devices. Since your iPad has been jailbroken, we can't help you in this forum. Best bet is to Google for answers.
Unauthorized modification of iOS can cause security vulnerabilities, instability, shortened battery life, and other issues

    If you jailbreak your iPad:
    1. Your Apple warranty, if any is remaining, is canceled.
    2. We can't help you in these forums.
    3. Apple Support and the Genius Bar won't help you.
    4. You can get a virus and malware.
    5. You may "brick your iPad and have an $$$ paperweight.

  • Apple's Social Network?

    Hello again,
I am looking to leave Facebook, especially since it will be owned by or already is owned by microsoft. I am interested in locating Apple's own Social Network, I am aware of our very own "Ping" for music.
Thank you again for any assistance in this area.
    Mohegan

Thank you everyone for responding. To clarify my recent comment about Microsoft taking over or possible buying out Facebook or even helping FB. I read so many articles and misspoke myself and here is one article I read about this.
    http://www.zdnet.com/search?q=facebook+being+sued+
I will clarify next time, for this is how I would like it to be, however I am still in favor of an Apple Social Network and will support any effort in this regard...

  • Problems with mail, messags, and social network accounts

    Hi,
first of all, sorry for my bad English.
I would like to know if there is a maximum limit of accounts (email, social network, etc. etc.) that OS10 can handle.
On my Passport (OS10 Version 10.3.0.675) I have the following:
    - 1 BBM
    - 1 WhatsApp
    - 1 Facebook
    - 12 Mail
Now, when I try to insert another account (for example mail or Twitter), I recived the following error message:
"The maxximum accounts has been reached".
    Is that right?
With the Z10 and the Q10, if I remember correctly, I did not have this problem.
I need to add more email accounts, someone can help me?
    Thank you all.

  • HT4628 My Mac mini has decided to continuously drop off my wifi network and is incredibly slow to open a web page. Wifi is working perfectly with other devices.

Hi my Mac mini will not stay on the network today and is slower than a pc to lad a web page.
I've followed various suggestions off the web and still have the same problem. 1 second the network is available and working slow and the next it says in network diagnostics that ISP has failed. The router is fine as I'm using an iPad and iPhone and all is working perfectly at +5 Mbps however when I try to open yahoo in safari it take about 5 minutes to open the page and then when I try to create a new mail I get the same Tim delay and then can't enter a send to address!
I've never managed to sort out email either but it not for a lack of trying about 30 different suggestions.
I'm fairly new to mac and am getting very very frustrated with not being able to solve these problems.
Can anyone please steer me towards a step by step or screen by screen resolution please please please help?

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them; in that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Restart your router and your broadband device, if they're separate. Any change?
If possible, connect to your router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
Are any other devices on the network, and if so, are they the same?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all the same?
Are all network applications affected, or only some? If only some, which ones?
Is networking always the same, or is the problem intermittent?
Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
Boot in safe mode and test. Any difference?
If possible, turn off Bluetooth and disconnect any USB 3 devices. Any difference?

  • Apple Mail on Macbook via windows domain network and microsoft TMG

    Hi folks.
We run a windows network with server 2008 tmg, dcs, and exchange 2007.
We have a few mac clients on our internal network. They log on locally but have all the correct network settings etc for proxy, network and internet access. Everything works fine through TMG including apple mail to our exchange server, and web browsing etc.
The one thing that isn't working is apple mail to other mail providers. Specifically Gmail.
I've created an access rule for testing purposes to allow all outbound traffic from a macbook pro. It still doesn't work, with the following being the only error:
    Denied Connection RHSTMG 21/05/2010 10:27:07
    Log type: Firewall service
Status: An ingoing packet was dropped because its destination address does not exist on the system, and no appropriate forwarding interface exists.
Rule: None - see Result Code
    Source: Internal (10.1.0.81:5353)
    Destination: External (224.0.0.251:5353)
    Protocol: Unidentified IP Traffic (UDP:5353)
    Additional information
•Number of bytes sent: 0 Number of bytes received: 0
    •Processing time: 0ms Original Client IP: 10.1.0.81
Someone on another (microsoft) forum said this:
224.0.0.251:5353 is RendezVous protocol, which is used by Mac OS for locating services. it is multicast protocol and it's only purpose is locating things.most it has nothing to do with Google Mail.
The mac has entirely unrestricted access to everywhere (in theory).
Gmail account through windows 7 client using outlook is fine by the way.
Nothing else is denied or refused when looking at the live logging.
Any help with this would be great.
    Thanks
    Dave

I had this problem too, but I found a post burried on the web that said to add " p06- "  (without quotes) before the imap and smpt server names and that worked:
    p06-imap.mail.me.com
    p06-smtp.mail.me.com
Everything stays checked, SSL for both, authentication and use same username and password checked.

    # For example, you define $mydestination domain recipients in
    # the $virtual_mailbox_maps files.

    # - You redefine the "local_transport" setting in main.cf.
    # - You use the "luser_relay", "mailbox_transport", or "fallback_transport"
    # feature of the Postfix local delivery agent (see sample-local.cf).

    # in file sample-smtpd.cf.

    # or you can let Postfix do it for you (which is the default).
    # By default (mynetworks_style = subnet), Postfix "trusts" SMTP
    # clients in the same IP subnetworks as the local machine.
    # On Linux, this does works correctly only with interfaces specified
    # with the "ifconfig" command.
    # Specify "mynetworks_style = class" when Postfix should "trust" SMTP
    # clients in the same IP class A/B/C networks as the local machine.
    # Don't do this with a dialup site - it would cause Postfix to "trust"
    # your entire provider's network. Instead, specify an explicit
