701 nokia symbian fp2 dtmf tone length

It's not in the manual so does anyone know where to set the dtmf tone length ? in fp1 it was rather short, probably 100ms but with fp2 its nearly 500ms which for some services is useless.
n701 coming from a n97mini, waiting for FP2+fixes or FP3 and its syncml fixes !

I hate the new Gallery app too.
Even though we were happy creating folders in old belle fp1 gallery, after software reinstall etc, it would again required for us to add the images to custom folders. It would have been like, it actually should create actual folder and move whatever image we add to custom folder!.
Well there is an application called photo browser 2 which you can buy from Nokia store.
It can show images in albums(Actual folders), months, and all photos.

  • DTMF tone length and Conference ID and Dial-in issue

I recently upgraded a 3GS to iOS4 and noticed a change in the touch tones being used. This is a US phone.
With iOS3 using a conference code dial-in format like: 1-800-555-1212,,,123456789#
The tones were long and 90% of the time were recognized by the phone system correctly.
With iOS4 using the same dial-in above, the tones are extremely short and are not recognized by the phone system.
Where can I change the length of the tone, to the one experienced with iOS3?
I prefer not to downgrade the OS.
    Thanks.

If I read you right, I'm having the OPPOSITE problem with the length of the tones.
Instead of sending the separate sequences in a burst, the iPhone 4 (iOS 4.0.1) dials the numbers very s-l-o-w-l-y, as if someone is pressing a key, holding it down for a second or so, waiting, pressing the next key, and so on. Takes something like 20 seconds to send in the security code and verifying phone number to access AT&T landline voicemail.
My old Motorola RAZR on Verizon would blast out the entire speed dial sequence in a flash, and I'd be into my (landline) voicemail in a few seconds. It was so fast, and worked so well, sometimes the automated voice on the other end wouldn't need to finish the canned responses.
    Anyone else having this problem?

  • Lumia 710, how to use dtmf tones for interrogating...

I'm pretty happy with my 710 -- but then I always trail the curve somewhat!
Just one problem -- I'm trying to use it with sending DTMF tones, specifically to interrogate my answering machine remotely.  The answering machine is fine and works with other phones, just not my 710.  I've read the manual, and can't find any sort of setting.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi there mate,
You cannot use Nokia Suite with the 920. You can either use the Windows Phone app for Windows 8, or for Windows 7, depending on which system you have. There is also a Windows Phone app for Mac OS X users. You can also copy music and videos over to the 920 through File Explorer within Windows.
There is no support for FM radio function within Windows Phone 8 at present, same with file manager. As this is a user to user forum only, your best bet is to leave feedback direclty with Microsoft via the link: http://windowsphone.uservoice.com

  • DTMF tones Recognition with Third Party ASR, signaling?

                      Hi,
We have integrated the UCCX 8.5 platform with a 3rd party ASR/TTS product to automate service, we need to know about the signaling between UCCX and 3rd party ASR/TTS to recognize DTMF tones. If a session is established, how is closed?
We cannot use the step "get digit string" if the "Selected Dialog Group" for that trigger is not the "Default" dialog group, we use in the first place "MRCP ASR Group #1" and in this way the ASR recognition works but DTMF tones recognition not
    Can you help us?
    Many thanks,
    Laura

This is a tricky one for the community most likely because ASR is used very little with UCCX, and more with UCCE.  That's my opinion anyway.
Ok, so, according to the documentation it doesn't look like there's a way to directly tell if the user spoke or pressed keys.  Here's what I found that seemed likely to be helpful:
The Get Digit String step waits for input until the caller does one of the following:
Presses the terminating key (DTMF only)
Exhausts the maximum number of retries
Enters the maximum number of keys (DTMF only)
Does not respond before the timeout length is reached
In ASR mode, the step will take an entire spoken digit string but will return the digit result only up the specified Input Length.
This got me thinking, what if you used a fake terminating digit?  Normally the terminating digit is just discarded, but if you turned off that feature, and still asked for it, then you'll be able to analyze the input for it.
You could say in your prompt something like the following:
"Using your touch tone keypad, enter your five digit account number followed by the pound sign.  For your convenience, you may also speak your account number now."
This way, if the caller is a good listener, and presses the terminating digit, which is only a trick to get them to identify themselves as having used the keyboard, you can use this method to check for it:
If (CED.endsWith("#"))  True    /* The caller pressed the pound key and thus is using the keypad */    /* Remove the pound sign at the end of the input */    Set CED = CED.replace("#", "")  False    /* The caller did not press the pound key and thus is using speech */
What are you thoughts on that solution?  I wish I had an ASR to play with, and then I could actually try a few things.  You're lucky to have access to such advanced technology.

  • Nokia Belle FP2 - Google and Bing local search res...

Hi, I've got a Nokia 700 with Nokia Belle FP2.
No matter if I use Bing or Google for searching, it does not offer any local search results to me, although the browser supports the HTML5 geolocation API.
Also, the Google Mobile version is the "light" version.
    How can I change this?

Hey I have updated my 701 to FP2 just after you guys released FP2 from your servers via OTA(2nd oct) . Over all its a good update but  i have noticed that
    1) No option to use Front cam while in camera or video mode .
    2) No exit button in camera or video mode( have to press End key)
    3) Nokia Music and Video editor fails to respond( DEAD)
4)Phone is laggy especially when using music player and web/email applications at a time.
5)BELLE EXTRA BUTTONS are colliding with CALL & SEARCH homescreen buttons( CHECK ATTACHMENT )
6)In Landscape mode ( when using any application e.g: Whats App or Nimbuzz e.t.c.,)  not able to see the text typed above.( CHECK ATTACHMENT)
7)No option to select Multiple images in gallery.

  • Automating DTMF tone sending

I want to set up my phone (Nokia 3100) to dial a number and when the distant phone answers for my phone to then send a DTMF sequence. Can this be automated to avoid having to separately send the DTMF sequence when you hear that the the distant phone has answered?

    Hello CF-Robin,
I'm glad that you inquired about the DTMF tone. I've had people asked me about this in person and I think that now is a great time to share how to adjust this functionality. The Motorola Droid Bionic's DTMF tone can be adjusted within the device settings. I have the path noted below on how to reach this setting on the Bionic.
From the main screen, touch menu tab.
    Touch Settings.
    Touch Call Settings.
    Touch DTMF Tones.
    Select from Normal or Long.
For the DTMF setting, there are only two choices, normal and long. Both selection works well with most automated phone systems. I encourage you to test both settings with your company's phone system to ensure that they are working together. Hope this helps!
    Thank you...

  • E61 DTMF Tones Too long

I have a Linksys SPA 3102 as a Voip to PSTN gateway, this works great using other phones but not with my E61.
The problem seems to be that the DTMF tones are to long, when I send 1234, the SPA 3102 receives 111222333444!!!
Is there anyway to adjust the timing of E61 DTMF codes?

I found another solution (thanks to hwittenb at Voxilla forum) which avoids me having to use DTMF to inititiate voip-to-pstn calls from Nokia phone to SPA3102. It's called a request uri and is described in the ATA admin guide section "How VoIP-To-PSTN Calls Work".  It's a bit complicated to set up initially, but works in my setup....
     Router set-up:
    1. my SPA3102 is connected to Linksys router model WRT54GC set up with a dynamic dns (dyndns.org) address, so that I can always make direct IP calls to the SPA3102 even if my ISP changes my internet address
    2.  Router port forwarding is set to forward SIP UDP and RTP TCP ports to SPA3102. Check  which are the correct port numbers to forward in SIP tab on the SPA3102
    SPA3102 set-up
    1.      LINE TAB: IP dialling is enabled (yes). Not sure if this is needed or not....
      2.      SIP TAB: Note: I have not bothered with STUN server and the other settings for inbound IP dialling found in guides on the internet.  This probably works because of Gizmo or Pfingo being used as the PSTN voip account.... e.g.: in the SIP tab, the NAT Support Parameters are factory defaults e.g.: all set to no
      3.       PSTN TAB: settings:
I use two accounts with the same service provider (either Pfingo or Gizmo) - one on the Nokia client, the other as the PSTN account in my SPA3102
      SIP port: 5061
      Dial Plan 1: (xx.)
      VoIP-To-PSTN Gateway Enable: Yes
      VoIP Caller Auth Method: None
      One Stage Dialing: Yes
VoIP Caller ID Pattern: <user-ID of Nokia phone voip account>
      VoIP Answer Delay: 0
Disconnect Tone: set correctly for my country
Note: Using this Caller ID pattern provides an authentication to prevent unknown caller IDs from placing PSTN calls through your SPA3102.  You could leave this blank if you don't mind anyone using your voip-to-pstn.  The caller ID pattern for a Gizmo account is not the number 1747...  it is a word…
To dial a pstn number from Nokia client via voip-to-pstn through SPA3102:
    1. store the phone number (pstn compatible format) you wish to dial into an internet telephone field, or SIP field, in a Nokia phonebook contact
    <phone-number>@<dynamic-dns-address-for-router>:5061
    2. with your Nokia voip account registered, then dial the contact sip uri address
When I dial, the voip call from Nokia client to SPA3102 is set up, the pstn FXO port is opened and the <phone-number> is dialled through the PSTN.... DTMF tones in call work fine with the established call.  Good news!
Note: if PSTN line is already busy the call will not complete.  Also my dial plan in the PSTN tab is actually a bit more complex than shown above to prevent IDD calls and premium rate numbers, again the call will not complete.

  • What debug for seeing DTMF tones via CUBE -SIP?

On a 3845 running 12.4 20, the DTMF tones (for menu options) are not getting passed from the PSTN into the network after the call is established.  The router is using CUBE software and passes the call to the PSTN via SIP trunking/SIP server.  The call is established at G729. I'm using debug voip ccapi inout and debug sip messages, but I don't see the digits being passed.
    1.  Am I using the right debugs?  If not, which ones do I use?
    2.  At G729, are the tones compressed, or are they out of band?

    HI aokanlawon ,
I finaly managed to get the debuf output from the "debug ccsip messages" and "debug voice ccapi inout" command.
Sorry for the long debug log, I don't have chance anywhere to upload the file. Also, I'm sending at the end, an output from the command "debug voip rtp session named-event"
Can You explain to me what's going on with the type of DTMF beeing transmitted?

  • Nokia Belle FP2 -Pros and bugs.

Nokia Belle FP2(Sw.Version 113.010.1506) seems to be another cool release by Nokia with many bug fixes and lot of improvement in ease of usability.
Here are some of the things I would like to share:-
1.New music player with new appearance and correct album list.
    2.Search shortcut on the homescreen.
3.Music player pause and play in the dropdown status bar.
    4.Improved transition effects.
5.Very good in place pop up options for fast selection of items.
6.Improved video player aspect ratio switching with double tap.
    7.Improved speed in file manager.
    8.Cool new extra widgets.
    9.Nice looking security lock keypad.
10.Nokia 808 style camera interface is a highlight in FP2 with lot of speed improvement in capturing an image!
11.Very good new lock screen with fast access to alerts.
12.Camera can be opened while keypad is locked!
    13.New keyboard with native language.
    14.Improved volume level design.
    15. Improved selection of text for copying and pasting.
    16. Apps open much faster especially like the Dictionary app.
    Bugs/Drawbacks:-
    1.The worst keyboard ever.
    A. Lots of eye movement, have see both body of typing and suggestion. No predictions is used, though prediction is present, it is not used for helping the user to write the message fast but to struggle in selecting appropriate words.
First type regardless of tiny mispellings and check whether the word is in the suggestions or not and select appropriate word, instead of the phone selecting appropriate word itself and helping the user to select the word by itself.
user has to see the suggested words and select the word instead of looking at the message body.
please don't make our phones unusable.
    B. No right and left arrow keys to move between tiny letters.
These keys appear only when you tap on the body of the message in messaging only, not in an app like opera mini.
Try and try again until you get the cursor beside correct letter!
    C. The suggetions on top of the keypad takes extra speace and blocks the typing area apps like opera mini. See attachment.
    2. Unusable gallery app.
    A. Now there are only two options in gallery. Add tag and delete with mark option. No mark option to select multiple images and send them via mail or bluetooth. You can send one by one by opening an image and then by using options-send.
    B. There is no add to favourites folder or any other custom folder to move your important photos or images of your important documents etc.... you need to scroll to the correct image and open it. Now the more images you have more  scrolling and time it takes for you to see your image.
    C. The new gallery app cannot zoom in high resolution photos or the photos from 808 pureview.
It shows blank black screen when you zoom.
    D. Image editor cannot zoom the image like as with old editor. Very limited zooming. like you zoom in gallery.
    3. Battery performance seem to be improved now, but not like initial Belle.
    4. Camera:
Option to select front camera has been removed. Very bad.
    5.Mass storage mode.
Now with FP2, Connecting in Mass storage mode hangs your phone completely, only way is to remove the battery.
    Thanks.
    In love with Nokia.

  • Video Pro application on Nokia 808 FP2 hanging

    Hi,
The Video Pro app (not the regular video editor) on my Nokia 808 FP2 always hangs when I try to choos a video.
I attached a screenshot of what is happening.
I waited almost an hour just to see if it finally works but nothing.. just stays at this screen loading.
Is there a bug in the software?
    thanks

    @jake20
If you got Belle FP2 FOTA as soon as it was released it included Video Pro but firmware update was quickly pulled due to issues and ths application was absent when it was re-released; it has not to date re-appeared in SW update.
Happy to have helped forum with a Support Ratio = 42.5

  • IPhone will not send stored DTMF tones to toll free numbers?

Has anybody else noticed this? When I program my iPhone to connect
to a teleconferencing service (ATT's ironically), the DTMF tones are not
tansmitted. If I change the dial in number to a "caller paid" area code,
the tones are transmitted fine. Probably something to make it more difficult
for consumers to use cheaper international calling accounts.
For example a number such as 866 NNN NNNN , XXXXXXXX will not transmist the numbers after the pause, but change the are code to 865, and it does.

I'm having the same issue. We use a calling card to make international calls and could really benefit from the ability to send 15 digits at a time from the address book. I do it on the RAZR, albeit ungracefully, though it's a smooth operation on my SE W810.
Any thoughts on how this might work (if it does) on the iPhone would be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    va

  • Need information for how to capture, transmit and receive a DTMF tone

    Hello every body
I would like to implements the DTMF where i need some information that hoe i can
    1) Capture the tone mean when i press button 'one' it has to capture and generate a vaoice file.
    2) And i need to transmit the same thing to a remote system.
    3) At the remote system how i can reveive and identify that the tone is for 'one'.
    Thanks to ............. advance

JMF isn't the right tool - it's about handling media streams
You could use it to capture the audio source, then obtain the audio samples,
But you would then have to perfom some signal processing on it to interpret/decode for tone detection
This is what should already be available via the JTAPI API (haven't checked but should do this sort of thing)
ie you should be able to code up an application that receives 'DTMF Tone' events & does whatever you need to do in response
This is what IVR systems do
