7100 Supernova Sleep/Standby

I bought a nokia 7100 supernova and when the phone has now been used for a short period (20 seconds maybe) the screen just goes dark, on my old nokia I used to have time and date displayed - I've look for an option to turn it off like power saver or sleep mode but I cant find a thing I just wondered if anyone could tell me how to display time and date?
Thanks

  • IPhone 5 won't wake up from sleep/standby!!

Hello, I am having a really strange problem with my iphone 5 for last 3-4 months. Sometime when i want to use my iphone from standby/sleep mode it dosent do anything! sleep/wake button, home button even silent/sound button dosent work. I know the silent/sound button dosen't work cause normally it vibrate when I turn it on. So the problem is my phone wont wake up from sleep/standby mode. The screen stays black and nothing works. If i press the home button and power button for 10-15 time very quickly, then it takes a screen shot and wakes up!! Sometime it stays in this stage for 5-10min.
So here is what i did to solve the problem.
    1. I restore the phone from phone and ituens.
    2. I delete all icloud backup and started as a new phone
    3. I went to apple store and replace the phone with a new one!!
    4. I jailbreak it at last to see if it solve the problem!
    5. turn off the icloud to see if it works
And sadly nothing of all this solved my problem! Now im not sure any specific app causing the problem but it almost impossible to find it out. So if anyone have any similar problem or any suggestion to solve it, then it will be really helpful.

    Hi All,
I hope I don't jinx it by posting this.  Yesterday I changed two of my settings and the issue has not occured again.
I changed the carriers settings and the LTE settings.
I went into "Settings" - then went into "Carrier" - Then I switched the "Automatic" to "OFF" I waited for the the carrier to show up (in my case Vodafone), then selected "vodafone au" manually.
Then I went into "Settings" - Then went into "General" - then I switched OFF the "Enable LTE" option (In my case I have switched this option OFF as I have not been sent the message to advise that I now have 4G service. According to Vodafone support, Not all vodafone customers have 4G only a selected 40 thousand customers accross Australia, I think all customers will have 4G around mid July )
Once this is done, I switched the phone off, Waited around a minute and then switched the phone back on.
I will update in a week if the problem doesn't happen.

  • Found: Intel Turbo Memory causing T61 wake-up from sleep / standby problems

This is related to my earlier post, but I've found a new cause and thought to post a new message to make it easier for others to find it if they are running into similar problems.
    My system
    T61 model 7662-CTO (built July 2007)
    Vista Business w/ SP1
Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M (driver version:  7.15.11.7597)
Intel Turbo Memory (driver version: 1.7.0.1029)
Intel Wireless card 4965AGN (driver version: 11.5.0.36)
    Thinkpad BIOS (version 7LETC4WW,  2.24)
no card reader or integrated webcam
I was having problems with Vista failing to wake-up after being put into sleep (or standby) mode. Instead of returning to the desktop, the system immediately crashes and reboots. After many hours, I reformatted the drive and re-installed Vista (business edition). Before running the Lenovo system update, I installed Vista Service Pack 1, then I ran Windows Update and installed any remaining update hotfixes. (I never delayed restarting the machine when prompted)
I incrementally began installing Lenovo drivers, and after the Power Management driver determined that hibernate was working.
The 'sleep' option was unavailable until I installed the Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M drivers. Then sleep worked!
Note: Intel Turbo Memory driver was uninstalled at this time.
After all other lenovo programs were installed, I installed the driver for the Intel Turbo Memory. I put the computer to sleep, and it crashed/rebooted upon being woken up.
I uninstalled the Turbo Memory driver from the Device Manager, and normal sleep -> wakeup function resumed.
Because the sleep / standby feature requires the Nvidia Quadro drivers, and the Vista OS and the Intel Turbo Memory must properly work together for the turbo memory to work, I imagine the failure involves some driver mismatch between these three. I cannot recall now whether this issue was present when I first received the machine over a year ago (pre-installed Vista Ultimate, service pack 1 not even out yet). Perhaps Vista SP1 made some change that the Turbo Memory driver doesn't like, particularly with the Nvidia Quadro drivers in the mix too.
Just FYI for anyone interested or curious.

Remove the two aftermarket memory modules and observe the results.

  • V560 cannot wake up from sleep/standby

    hi all,
My V560 is not waking up after entering sleep/stand by mode automatically. screen remains black. usb is not working. hdd indicator light is on.
i have to press power button long till force it to power off. i am using win 7 enterprise 32bit.

    hey azad,
place your unit on diagnostic mode via msconfig. restart your unit, login and do not launch any program.
if you have set your unit to go into sleep/standby after a period of time; let it do so.
once it is in sleep/standby , leave if for about 5 mins before "waking" it up.
can it wake up ? if yes, then it is a program you launch or a non-windows item that is launch in the background during startup that is causing the error.
    if possible, go to >>http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=607595
    and update your unit accordingly.

  • Nokia 7100 supernova with broken screen

I have a nokia 7100 supernova with a smashed screen. I would like to be able to turn the bluetooth on so that I can get my contacts and photos off the phone.
Can anyone give me an idiots guide on how to do this.
The phone is set with the normal menu system

I take it you haven't used the phone much yet or the internet to be specific , you would have noticed when you're connected to the internet the E is encircled by a box and when you recieve a call it has a line through it.
All this means is that your phone is registered to EGPRS on your network but a connection hasn't been made, if you travell you would probably notice the E change to a G depending on the coverage of the particular earea you're in.
and you didn't really go through the manual
Yours is a S40 phone so if you decide you want to remove this.
I don't have my 5200 with me so I'm guiding you from my memory which isn't really the best but here goes
Menu > settings > connectivity > Packet Data > Packet Data connection
and set this from always online to when needed

  • 7100 Supernova connection to my PC

My wife has just purchased a 7100 with the hope of listening to internet radio. (she has internet for the phone through O2). I have downloaded the Nokia PC Suite but what cable or bluetooth connection do I require to connect the PC to the phone?

The 7100 Supernova does not support cable connectivity, the tiny port that is near the charger port is only for Nokai service points to reflash the phone, so you are limited to Bluetooth.
Nokia phones that support USB connectivity all now have Mmicro-USB connectors, earlier Nokias had Mini-USB and before that Nokia's proprietary systel called the 'pop-port'. If you have none of these three, you can't connect this way.

  • 7100 Supernova.

I bought a 7100 supernova in June last year. in august of the same year, i had to take it to an 02 store (my provider) to have it repaired as it was trying to open messenger every time i attempted to turn it on. they mended it, stating that they had to update the software on it. it has worked finr up till now, where i have the same problem. do i have a faulty phone, or are all the 7100 supernova's like this? it is fustrating!!!

  • P35D3 with E8400 CPU Wake from S3 Sleep / Standby Problem

I have a P35D3 Platnium system that I built a few weeks ago.  Everything is stable and all is working fine, except (there is always an "except", right or I would not be posting this message ), when I put the system into standby mode (s3 sleep) I get the black screen of death when I try to wake it up.
From reading other posts on the boards here I see that there is a known issue with S3 sleep and E8400 CPUs with the P35 Platinum and P35 Neo boards:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=114371.0
I've already updated to the latest official 1.4 BIOS:
    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=bios&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1230
but that didn't resolve the issue for me.  I see that the P35 Neo2 has a 1.8 BIOS that has a comment that specifically says:  "- Fixed system cannot resume from S3 with CPU E8400.":
    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=bios&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1261
Can anyone confirm if the P35D3 has the same issue as the P35 Neo 2?  If so, is there a BIOS available with a fix?
Here are the complete system specs:
    https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/Wishlist/PublicWishDetail.asp?WishListNumber=9131948&WishListTitle=New+System
I've already tried all kinds of things to resolve the problem but so far no luck.
    Thanks,

On the few times I have accidently put the computer to sleep; instead of lockdown; the only way I have gotten the computer to come back up is to hit the power button. So you might want to try hitting the power button and see if it wakes up.
I've tested using the power button on the case, the keyboard and the mouse to wake the system.  The wake source doesn't seem to make any difference.

When I have done that it takes a few minutes for it to completely wake up using vista; but it does end up waking up to what ever screens I had up and running when I put it to sleep.
I've never waited more than 3 minutes to see if the system would eventually resume.  If it doesn't wake quickly then there isn't much point of using the sleep/standby mode anyway.

  • Flash player 10 sleep/standby problem

Since i've installed flash player 10, when I have websites up
that use the flash player such as hulu.com, veoh.com, etc. it
causes my monitor to not automatically go into sleep mode and my
computer to not automatically go into standby mode. After the set
amount of time, my monitor will begin to go into sleep mode, but
then power back up, and this only occurs when im on a website that
uses flash player. I also tested to make sure it was flash player
10 that was the culprit by using the flash player uninstall, then
reinstalling flash player 9 to see if that would fix the problem,
    which it did.
While some may say, "why not just close the websites before
you leave the room.." I tend to fall asleep while watching tv shows
on hulu and other sites (dont have tv in bedroom), I would like for
my computer to be able to go into standby on its own, and have my
monitor go into sleep mode on its own so that I conserve
    electricity.
Extra info in case it matters: im on windows xp and I use
    firefox

    Thanks for your reply.
The issue not related to AS 2, application running on flash player 10.3 in all browsers but updated flash player 11.1 getting problem.
"AS 2 code .SWF file run on Flash Player 11.1.102.55". this is true/false ?
please guide me about this issue.
    sorry about my english.

  • Intel 3160 in 15t-k000 cannot reconnect to networks after resume from OS sleep/standby

Quite often the Intel Wireless-AC 3160 will be unable to reconnect to a network after Windows resumes from standby/sleep (or perhaps it's Windows' deeper hibernation).  The only fix (other than restarting Windows) is to disable the 3160 in the device manager and then re-enable it.  Upon re-enable, it immediately reconnects.  This happens sporadically, not every resume.
    Attempted resoluions (besides disable/re-enable workaround):
Tried multiple networks on both 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz bands.  Updated the Intel drivers, the issue persists.
Ran Intel PROSet/Wireless "Manual Diagnostic Tool", which passes tests until "Association Test", which fails.  Even "Scan Test" passes, but it just can't associate (connect?) with a network.
Windows automatic troubleshooting tool.  No resolutions, useless.
EDIT:  The issue looks a lot like this one on the AC 7260.  No resolutions on that forum, unfortunately.
    Windows 8.1Pro 64-bit
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 driver version 17.1.0.19
As an aside question, what network cards are usable with the 15t-k###?  For example, like the list here for the 15t-j###.  Is there a simultaneous dual band card that can be used instead of the 3160?  Thanks!

    Hi @chappjc ,
Thank you for your inquiry, I am happy to try and help!
I understand that you are unable to connect to the network when resuming from sleep or hibernation in Windows 8 Pro.
If is possible that you card is not set to connect when waking from sleep mode.

  • 10.5.3--Sleep/Standby issue?

With 10.5.2, when leaving work I would simply drag the mouse to the hot spot to launch my screensaver. My MacBook Pro 17" is set to BETTER PERFORMANCE; it never sleeps, only the display goes to sleep after 15 minutes. I have never had luck with Mac + Sleep; my MacPro at home is a disaster when I put it to sleep. I have never been able to successfully recover from a full sleeping session.
Anyway...so I update to 10.5.3 yesterday, reboot, drag my cursor to the hot corner, the screensaver starts, and I go home...
I come into work this morning and have to do a hard reboot. Every other day of 10.5.2 I would simply come in, move the mouse or touch a key on my BT keyboard, the login window would appear, and I would continue on my merry workday.
Update to 10.5.3 and I get an unresponsive Mac...I moved the mouse and clicked the keys on the keyboard, to no avail. Occasionally I would see the cursor move around, but the login would never appear (by login window, I have the REQUIRE PASSWORD TO WAKE THIS COMPUTER FORM SLEEP OR SCREEN SAVER option selected in the Security preference pane). I could also hear the optical drive click or something as if it was trying to respond to my inputs, but ultimately I had to do a reboot.
10.5.2 worked fine. NOTHING changed about my configuration, except updating to 10.5.3. My routine was always the same, as described above. Hot corner, go home, come back, touch mouse/keyboard, continue working...I would only shutdown/reboot on weekends. One day into 10.5.3 and I get this fiasco...why has Apple always had issues with Sleep/Stanbdy on their machines?

Same symptom/problem here. It happened twice today on my iMac. I run the photo-mosaic screensaver and it normally wakes up fine. Both times it froze it was upon wakeup from sleeping and I got a view of the mosaic in a frozen state.
Mouse movement after wakeup might create some blocky looking graphics. The first time it happened I 'shared the screen' from a PowerBook and managed to recover. Later I rebooted but it happened again a while ago. Sharing the screen showed a blank or blocky screen on the remote system, too. If I log into the 'frozen' machine I can 'see' the processes (via the "top" program) but nothing is amiss. A series of command-tab and command-Q sequences killed off all the desktop programs but I never got the screen back. I even tried killing off the Finder -- it restarts itself but doesn't reveal the desktop.
Ultimately I did a "sudo kill -r now" from the remote Mac and the frozen machine rebooted.

  • Sleep/Standby makes resolution changes to lowest setting

Recently almost every time I turn my computer on after it going into sleep it ends up switching to the lowest resolution available (800x600). I can't figure out why exactly it's doing this. It's very annoying because when it resizes, it will move my sidebar gadgets so they will fit into the screen.
I'm running an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 on a Dell Inspiron E1505.
Please help, the computer is basically brand new!

    rkpatel,

This problem occurs when the monitor driver is unloaded when the lid of the computer closes.  In this case, the Transient Multi-monitor Manager (TMM) reduces the resolution to the default resolution because it cannot verify the monitor.
To work around this problem, stop the TMM (Transient Multi-monitor Manager) service. To do this, use one of the following methods.
    Method 1: Use Task Scheduler
    1.  Click Start , type Task Scheduler in the Start Search box, and then click Task Scheduler in the Programs list.
    2.  Expand Task Scheduler Library, expand Microsoft, expand Windows, and then click MobilePC.
    3.  Right-click TMM, and then click Disable.
Notes • If the TMM task is not displayed, right-click MobilePC, point to View, and then click Show Hidden Tasks.
    • This fix does not disable any of the docking features on the portable computer. If you find that an external monitor does not work correctly, you can re-enable the TMM task.
    Method 2: Use a script
    1.  Click Start , type cmd in the Start Search box, and then click cmd in the Programs list.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
    2.  At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    Schtasks /End /TN “\Microsoft\Windows\MobilePC\TMM”
