72 Hour hold was supposed to be suspended but was not.

I went to a Verizon store today tried to open up 2 lines one was a LG G3, and a LG G Pad 8.3.  Was told there was a 72 hour hold on my credit placed by the fraud department.  Called the fraud department they said they suspended the hold, went back to the store and got the same story.  I am really need a phone as mine broke.  So far this has been a horrible experience.  I even took off time from work to go back the 2nd time.  Please help!Verizon Wireless Customer Support@

I have placed order, to be approved, shipping date, then shipping date changed then shipping canceled then of course. Had to put another order in also sent to fraud department now I have been given 2 order numbers , then a location number then a reference number now downgraded to a application order, yesterday I was approved twice thru fraud, then last night I was yelled at by a lady today I received another call to again for a 4th time resent everything!!! Funny thing is, fraud keeps giving different stories but yet since I live in a small town I sent everything to my pud office, and they say to much info sent and all readable, and sent to the local PD (friend) who also says I over verified and very readable, and past harassment..... and all I wanted for Xmas was to go verizon

    Let me try again, Chenks. I'm a technical person by profession, and so can get deeper into things like this, but I have not attempted to use these methods of communication in the past. I'm trying to get some feedback to Apple on their worsening a product and really messing with existing customer configurations. I'll try to break things up below.
    1. Configuration:
    Existing Apple TV and Mac Mini configuration in place since December 2010.
    Three Apple TVs, one in Family Room for music and movies, one in Master Bedroom for music and movies, the third one in the Living Room for music only.
    I'm using iTunes as library. (Probably an obvious statement, but wanted to mention that.)
    2. Pre 4.2.1
    No problems at any location since configuration finalized and all equipment installed in December.
    Since December, Family Room entertainment equipment was updraded to a new Sony Bravia 3D, and a new Pioneer receiver. The Master Bedroom still has the original Toshiba 32HLC56 TV. That unit has only one HDMI input. I'm using the built-in speakers. This TV/Monitor is about fives years old.
    3. Problem
    I updated the software in two of the Apple TVs to 4.2.1. I updated the Family Room device and the Master Bedroom device. I had not updated the Living Room device.
    After updating to 4.2.1, the Family Room equipment works fine. That's the location with the newer TV and receiver.
    The Master Bedroom has different problems with different movies: e.g. "The Little Mermaid:" video, no audio. "The Lion King:" movie wont start at all.
    Additionally, in the Master Bedroom some movies work fine, other movies start but immediately go into pause mode. Pressing pause button on Apple remote will not initiate start of movie, screen does "flicker" for a moment but movie does not start to play, showing only the last frame that had been streamed.
    4. Not really a problem for me.
    Fortunately for me, I had not updated the Apple TV in the living room so I used it to troubleshoot the problem. Initially I thought it was a defective Apple TV in the Master Bedroom. I took the unit to the Apple Store in town and they exchanged it for me. I brought the replacement Apple TV home but I did not install it immediately.
    While testing the Master Bedroom set up once again to make it was working for our afternoon movie watching, I was again reminded that a software update was available. That message came up because it was the unit I had brought over from the Living Room. I proceeded to update the Apple TV to the new software version (4.2.1).
    As soon as I "updated" the software in the Apple TV to the new 4.2.1, the same problems manifested themselves. At that point I suspected that the problem was with 4.2.1, and not with the hardware.
    I called Apple Support and went through a series of troubleshooting techniques. We tested the Apple TV with the new 4.2.1 installed in it. This is the unit which originially in the Living Room. Under the direction of the Apple TV support technician, I used the Family Room gear and the Master Bedroom gear to try and isolate the problem to hardware or software.
    We eliminated the following as potential problems:
    a. TV speakers in the Master Bedroom
    b. HDMI cable
    c. Ethernet connection
    5: Conclusion:
    Fortunately for me, again, the Apple TV that the Apple Store had given me that morning still had 4.1.1. So I installed that unit in the Master Bedroom and everything started working normal again.
    6. Side note:
    An interesting observation: In early March I copied several movies from the Mac Mini to my iPad and some to my wife's iPad. All movies worked fine on our flight out and while we were away.
    My wife recently (about a week ago) updated the software in her iPad. and now some of the movies that played just fine on her iPad are exhibiting the same problems as the Master Bedroom TV when it is connected to an Apple TV with software 4.2.1.
    Apple has been trying to fix some problems in 4.2 when it released 4.2.1. I make that observation based on recent articles I found on the web. Most likely the Apple engineers were trying to fix things in one place and broke them in another.
    Clear as mud, isn't it?
    7. In closing:
    I'm good to go, I just need to remember not to update the software in the Master Bedroom Apple TV. I want to keep that unit at 4.1.1. It's possible that Apple might come to the realization that they hosed things for some of us. Because I do have three units in my home, I can experiement with the other two units should a "fix" come out. I can then update one of the two devices, connect it to the Master Bedroom TV, and see if the problem was corrected. If not, I stay with 4.1.1. But I'm not convinced that Apple will see this as their problem, it's always easier to point elsewhere.

    I presume that you mean that the switches do not light up as appropriate when you select a Patch in MS?
    If so, in Layout Mode, select each of the buttons in turn, and check that they are a) Assigned to the correct MIDI CC number etc, and b) that "Send Value to" has the correct Port selected.

  • Iphone 5 was sent to get unlocked but 'sim not valid'

    My phone was given back to me on wednesday the 21st Januray after giving it to get unlocked on monday 19th january. The phone was locked to vodafone and now should be on giffgaff and unlocked to all networks.
    The guy said it can take upto 3-5 days for the phone to work with the new giffgaff sim, it is not the 5th day and it is still not working and it says
    SIM not valid - the sim card that you currently have installed in this iphone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iphone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iphone be unlocked by your carrier.     When i take the sim out, i am able to use the iphone in terms of going onto apps and only using wifi but it says no service due to no sim being in the phone.
    the carrier on the settings says giffgaff 17.0 which is why i think the phone should be unlocked but is not working

    Your iPhone has not been unlocked,the "guy" has hacked it to remove the Carrier lock and in doiung so has voided your warranty ,post warranty support and help from Apple or for that matter this Community
    The ONLY way to unlock an iPhone is for the Carrier who holds the lock to process the release and then follow this process

    It seems in your case the hack failed .........................and has screwed your iPhone .

  • My iPod Nano 7 was unplugged improperly, iTunes detects but does not identify  help?

    My iPod Nano 7th generation was unplugged improperly and now I seem to have a whole host of problems.  Itunes detects it but does not identify it - sometimes (also post- improper unplug) it would be identified by iTunes, but it wouldn't sync properly.  The computer would scan and fix the ipod every time I plugged it in, but never found any problems.  Also, every time I plug it in I get a warning window that the device could work faster if I plugged it into a 2.0 USB port, which I have checked that my computer has, updated all of the "enhanced USB ports" and I've checked the Apple port and it's fine.  I have also tried all of the USB ports I have, the warning window pops up for all of them.  I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, restarted my computer and my ipod numerous times.  Sometimes I get a warning window about missing files on my iPod, but I don't know how to fix that issue.
    Any suggestions???  THANKS!!!

    Which pictures?  If you are looking at pictures taken by the iPad's camera, you may actually be looking at electronic noise rather than pixels.  This is caused by amplification required for photos taken in low light.  If that is what you refer to, it can be improved by turning on more lights.

  • Time Machine said it was backing up for months but was not!

    Every day or two I plug my hard drive in via Firewire and let Time Machine run, then unmount the drive and remove the cable. I never get an error. But, with absolute stupidity, I never double-clicked on the drive's icon and looked inside Backups.backupdb or looked at the Date Modified, so I never noticed that the last reported date was in May. (It is now Sept 24th.)
    So I blew it.
    But...
    How the heck did Time Machine not give me any error? *How did it keep reporting the last backup date properly when it was not backing up?* Or *if it was backing up, how come using the app from my Dock and also looking at the Backups.backupdb, only May is available?* This is complete failure of the feature (and yes, I needed the backup today and am out about 20 hours of work now).
    I did notice a few times that when the backup was happening, there was a virtual disk on my desktop. I saw it a few times, but not lately.
    Is there any chance the backup is really there? I'll be looking. I'd really appreciate hearing from you if you know more about this.
    In case Apple is reading this, more history. I bought the original Airport Extreme when it went to N. I had this hard drive plugged into the AE via USB and used to do the Time Machine that way. After 1 week it gave me an error (drive full?) I could not resolve. I tried plugging the drive in directly via USB or Firewire to see if the error would resolve and backup would continue. It did not, so I deleted all the TM files and started all over again, plugged in directly. Since then there have been no errors.

    Hi Glenn.
    Without the virtual disk mounted, there are just 5 backups (windows into space in TM) all from May 12, 2008.
    When TM is actively backing up so the virtual disk is mounted, control/right-clicking on the TM icon in the Dock & selecting "Browse Other Time Machine disks..." shows both the real disc and the virtual. [Thank you. I had not tried clicking there.]
    I then did a Get Info on the virtual disk. It's 117 gigs.
    Then I noticed the name that the "Browse other" & Virtual disk has. This is the spare image file that appears on the main level of my designated backup disk. For some reason, on May 16, 2008, TM stopped backing up to the folder "Backups.backupdb" & started to back up into a spare image. (I am sure that is when I stopped plugging the disk into the Airport Extreme, but I am not sure why it behaved this way.)
    The thing is, the TM interface where you go back in time to retrieve files does not see the spare image.
    I can delete the May backup, or better, wipe the entire drive (it's really a partition) & begin again. But that won't teach us anything. Or, would using the "Browse other" should I select the hard drive to direct backups there again? After deleting the May stuff that's in there. It'll soon run out of room there because this spare image is using so much space, so I'd then need to get rid of that in the future.
    (I should note that I can now live without the stuff in the TM backup. I retrieved my damaged file yesterday. I also use SuperDuper onto another drive and know that's newer than these old May backups. They are not needed for sure.

  • Background is supposed to be transparent - but its not!

    I am doing an NTSC DV project, 720x480.
    Its just a simple lower 3rd.
    When I right click the background Project Properties... its says "transparent" (not "solid") for background which is what I want.
    However, when I export, I export as Apple ProRes 422 HQ NTSC (which I find is best quality).
    When I import it into FCP, the background is SOLID black. So the transparency is being lost.
    Why? How can I preserve transparent background? I looked in the ProRes422 options before export and tried exporting color+alpha etc etc, but can't find an option that respects transparency.
    Help!

    Hi curleyshirley1, I think you mean it said Firefox in the top left. Now there is no space in the top left and the tabs just start there. If I understand you then this means that your browser automatically updated to Firefox 29. It is the fastest Firefox version of Firefox ever. It is supposed to be better in every way. With that being said the look has also changed. The replacement to the Firefox button is, the icon in the icon with three horizontal lines near the top right.
