720p50 - how does it pull down 24fps??

Just wondering how the AppleTV sends a 720p24 (720line, 24 progressive frames per second source) to a PAL 720p TV (which refreshes 50 times per second)
The regular methods are either
1) slow down the av speed by 1/24th, then display every frame twice. This gives 50 refreshes per second.
or
2) show 12 frames twice, then the 13th frame 3 times, then repeat
My TV accepts 720p50 or 720p60, and has Pioneers "TrueCinema" which works differently for 50/60. For now I'm just putting everything on US settings, assuming it'll handle that better.

Yeah, I think every PAL plasma can be set to US too. 720p50 or p60 makes no difference. If your TV re-extracts 24fps from the US version then best to use that on your AppleTV.
Still, I'll have to try 720p50 more extensively. If my TV can reconstruct 24fps from that, then that's good for my 576i25 DVDs.
Anyone have any 720p24 material with a steadily moving object so I can see if it stutters twice a second on 720p50? (and whether my TV can then remove the stutter)?

Actually, I cannot seem to add any via the add Media option in the expert view, but, if I use the quick view I can drag and drop. Please help. What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 11 running on?
Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
I would not move to Premiere Elements 12 or 13 just yet.
How long have you been working with the program without the problem from the day of purchase until now?
Are you saying that you cannot use Add Media (click on triangle and list does not drop down) as well as use
Project Assets (will not open)? If both is the case, I would encourage you to do
a. Deactivate the program in an opened project's Help Menu/Update - then close out of there.
b. Uninstall the program using the usual Control Panel way
c. Do a free ccleaner run through (regular and registry cleaner parts)

d. Reinstall the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
Please let us know the results. Then we can decide what next.

How to mimic Pull Down Menu like APEX WORKSPACE

Hi,
I want to have Pull Down Menu like APEX Workspace pages where Application Developer, SQL Workspace, Team Developement and Administration have menus attached to them.
They appear in Pull Down format.
I want to mimic the same in my application. I have Pull Down List template and created a list region. It is showing the menus but I want the width and height of the lists to be same as that of APEX Workspace pages.
I have very little knowledge about javascript and others. I am familiar with PL/SQL.
Please help.

why does a document get a zipper on it, I downloaded it I don't know why it's "zipped" when I try to open it it make another copy I can't open what is the problem what did I do to cause this?

Zip is a method of compressing files for archiving, and is often used for downloading large files or installers.
Double-clicking the Zip file should unzip it, leaving the original file nearby on the dektop (or in whatever folder you downloaded to).
If the Mac's built-in tool can't open it, obtain Stuffit Expander from http://www.stuffit.com/mac-expander.html That will open most forms of compressed files.

How does one tone down the power pack connect 'beep'

When my S10 Netbook is already powered on (battery operation) and I connect the power pack, it emits a beep that's loud enough to wake the dead. Is there a way to tone it down?

How does one narrow down apps "open with"?

i get, esp. with an image, all apps available on my mac in the "open with..." contextual menu.

All programs 'register' what they are capable of opening with Launch Services through their info.plist file. In order to change the items listed in the Launch Services database, you have to hack the info.plist file in each app that you want to remove.
I don't know when the database gets built or rebuilt, so it may be possible to hack the launch services database. I don't know how to do that.
With that knowledge, you should be able to Google your way through it.
After you decide to hack up your apps or your system, please don't come back here and ask why your computer doesn't work like it used to.

Need to pull-down 24p HD footage

I am posting a feature doc shot in 24p HD with the Panasonic HDX-200 P2 Camera. The Mac has a Aja Kona Card, which does the pull-down through the outputs. Problem is, I need to export it as an uncompressed file in 29.97 DF mode in HD.
This is our station's first foray into the HD realm and we don't even have an output deck yet (we're gearing up for a tapeless solution). Anyway, the company doing the closed captioning said they could take the program in a QT file format, so that's where I'm heading.
I've tried conforming in CT, but it speeds the program up (looks like it's the 25% speed increase mentioned in the manual). How do I get around the increased speed? I just need to add the 3:2 to remove the 24p flicker.
Any ideas?

If you mean you don't want to see the stocks at all in notification center go to Settings>Stock Widget and turn Notification Center to Off. If you mean you want to remove some of the individual stocks shown, open the Stocks app, tap the "i " on the bottom right, tap next to the stocks you want to remove, then tap Done.

You can't do this directly in iWeb itself and it is quite complex - you need to use third party software and it is a matter of pasting code into the html snippet in iWeb and then uploading certain things to your host/server and then connecting them. It can get quite fiddly if you don't really know what you are doing and it only takes you to upload the wrong thing and get some code wrong and your menu will not show up.
Why not ditch iWeb in favour of newer software - try EverWeb at http://www.everwebapp.com and in EverWeb you can create drop down menus from within the app and it is very easy to do.
I would change now as iWeb has not been supported by Apple or sold for the last 2 years, so now might be a good time to look elsewhere and ditch iWeb for good.
I already have and purchased EverWeb and re-built one of my sites using this app and have moved my other site to Drupal so that I can do more with it and make it a members site - this can be done more easily if you use a Content Management System like Drupal.

Just so you'll know, there is no Java on that page. There is, however JavaScript. You should know that those two things are different as night and day.

I recently updated to Firefox 4.0.1 from Firefox 3.6. Firefox 3.6 had a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Bookmarks pull down menu. There isn't a "Bookmark All Tabs" in the Firefox 4.0.1 Bookmarks pull down menu. Has this feature been eliminated from Firefox 4.0.1? If I want to save 24 tabs in one window of Firefox and 14 tabs in another window of Firefox, do I have to save all the tabs individually? How can I set the options, preferences, etc. so that I can "Bookmark All Tabs" at once in a window of Firefox 4.0.1. I am running Firefox 4.0.1 on a desktop computer with Windows7 Professional OS with Firefox as my default browser.

Right click a tab and you will get the option to bookmark all tabs. Or use keyboard '''Alt + B''' which opens the old style menu. You can make changes to Firefox, as explained in this post: [/questions/799856#answer-155765]
