· Why does JHeadstart not make use of the UIX-Struts integration (see Chapter 15 of the UIX developers Guide)?This has been done to allow the same page to be run both with Struts and MVC Framework, without needing to change the page. Using the UIX-Struts integration would have made the pages 'controller aware'.
· How do you specify which columns/attributes in a Table Layout are sortable?As far as generation is concerned, you can only specify the whole table to be sortable. In case of UIX you can post-gen modify the <sortableHeader> tag of each column separately. In case of JSP you can remove the <a href> tag for each column that you do not want to sort on.

When that is done there does not appear to be a lot wrong if you correct the red ink entries.
The 4Gb is sufficient for Yosemite though 6 or 8 Gb would be better. You may find the download slow so be prepared. -
Why can't I paste more than one page at a time?
I have a problem with Pages when I try to paste more than one page worth of content at one time.
In my business I have a form online for clients to fill out. When the clients have finished the form, I copy the form (saved either as a safari document or as a pdf) and then try to paste what I have into Pages. It should flow to fill out four pages, but for some odd reason it only fill the first page of a Pages document, then it gives me a second blank (empty) page. So the document is two pages long, but only the first page has content.
I know the pasted information is hidden in the document, because if I were to cut (erase) a few lines of content, the pasted information would appear from the bottom of the page to fill the space I just made.
Why is Pages not making a four page document containing all my pasted information? Why isn't it flowing to fill out as many pages as it takes to show all the information?Michele Stapleton wrote:

How can I highlight more than one pic at a time?
First of all, THANKS for anyone that may answer since APPLE obviously has no desire to get off their ***** and help their customers.
About ten days ago I was prompted to install apples new operating system. So of course I clicked OK, idiot that I am!
Now I'm stuck with this new piece of **** operating system that I wish I could uninstall.
ANYWAY,
I upload a lot of pix for stuff I sell on EBay, sometimes 3-400 at a time. When I delete photos it's usually 1,000 at a time, and I assure you I'm not exaggerating. Up until now I was able to touch the END pic and swipe the whole horizontal row with two fingertips and the whole row of 7 would get checked. With the new ios7 I am unable to do it anymore (yet ANOTHER reason I don't want this 'improved' OS).
Does ANYONE know of a way to highlight more than one pic at a time?? Remember the old windows system where you could click one pic, then hit SHIFT and click a lower one and it would highlight them all, in between, for a quick delete?
There MUST be a way to delete, or rather highlight (or CHECK) more than one pic at a time? Anyone?

How to view more than one file at a time in CS4?
With OS 10.5, and a brand new CS4 Photoshop, I can open many Photoshop files at a time, but can only view one at a time. Must choose one at a time from the "tab". I need to have more than one picture open and showing at a time to work on them. How can I do that? What have I missed? Who can help? Thanks!

This is what I've been saying since I first saw the tabbed view in the new CS4. On the Mac, tabbed view is a big step backwards as it actually breaks the superior Expose' method of viewing multiple windows and also switching among them. I would also add that Control/Tab for non-tabbed windows is actually slightly faster than when they are tabbed. So for the mac, I only needed a minute to decide that the tabbed view was merely change for the sake of change. There are also operations that I do where I have to recreate a piece of art to match an existing piece. In those situations I always have the original right next to the the new image. Tabbed view destroys this as well. So I don't use it.
For the PC, tabbed views is possibly a tiny step forward, but it's such a small step that I'm not sure if I prefer to use tabs, or have that small amount of screen space that the tabs use. There was no previously existing "good" method of viewing and moving among multiple windows of a single application on the PC and therefore, tabs might be a small improvement. Unfortunately though it does seem that in order to bring us tabbed views in CS4, Adobe had to slightly 'break' the regular floating windows view. On the PC the documents will actually float above the toolbars, palettes,etc making it very difficult to use if not impossible. So, if you don't like using tabs, then you are really gonna suffer with non-tabbed view or suffer with the tabbed view. On the Mac, it's the opposite problem. Documents actually float up and underneath the top toolbar, covering the "close, maximize, minimize" buttons. Generally I would say that Adobe has created a mess when the best solution was obvious. Adobe should have copied the expose' method for it's CS4 suite. Hopefully they will have enough feedback with CS4 to see the light and change it for CS5. I see that Microsoft has mouse software that has already done just that on the PC, and there are a handful of independent efforts attempting to come up with something like expose' but generally with far less elegant and less "perfect" results. -

I will look at keywords. My issue is speed. Right now I am culling and editing an event shoot that spanned a week with 35 separate events and more than 5000 images. So I use the fastest most convenient method I can and it still takes a long time to have a completed and final shoot. On this shoot I will end up with a final set of around 1500 images. Right now I am finishing processing a show that will hang in the Deutsches Amerikanish Zentrum in Stuttgart.
As I am sure you are aware by now, having seen enough of my inane questions that over the last two years or since Lightroom version 1.xx if I could not figure out how to do something I skipped it. So many things in Lightroom are buried and unless you have a mind like a steel trap (and think that some of you guys in the forum do) locating how to do something is not obvious.
For example, I only learned (in the last hour) that I could assign colors as a group of selections by using Shift + number. I found this in a side head in Martin Evenings Lightroom book. I still do not know how to find a way to display the color filter "selection" set in Library mode. Is there a way?
To top it off, Stuttgart Media University asked me if I would add a Lightroom module to my schedule this year. Now I have a compelling reason to learn all those missing pieces that I have created workarounds for. Hence the number of posts you have been seeing from me over the past few of weeks.
I tell my class that there are no such things as stupid questions, only questions. Now I am practicing what I have been preaching for the last gazillion years. Guys like you have been great.
My workflow is
1. I first separate all images by event. I do that at the time of import.
2. I do a fast pass rejecting all the obviously bad images
3. I do a second pass grouping the images by sub-group (speeches, people talking, performances, etc.) This is where I run out of selection methods and your key-wording could work but it would probably take too much time to establish a keyword set for a single event. Where I have more than five subgroups I set up different collection sets with one collection for each sub group. However I would like to keep a single event in one collection.
4. I then select the images to be used by color code.
5. Next I process the final images (crop develop etc) by collection.
6. Last I output the set according to client requirement.
If you have a better workflow, I am all ears.
By the way, what is your photo specialty and where are you located?

Scoring question - how do I see more than one instrument's voice at a time?
I'm trying to compose pieces for different symphony orchestra instruments, but its imossible to toggle back and forth between the matrix view of seperate tracks for arranging the voices of the chords. The only way I can seen the notes in a chord is double click in the matrix view of individual track, but it just piles everything into one view and you can't manipulate it in any sensible way I can figure out.

i'm not exactly sure if this is what you mean, but if you want to see multiple instruments in the score view, just clicking anywhere on the "paper" brings up all the instruments used. if you want to see each single instrument come up in the score view, i think, like the previous person said is a matter of arranging the windows in the specific screenset, and having an Arrange and Score or Arrange and Matrix so that you can click on the regions and they'll come up on the other screen.

Is there a way to put an item under more than one calendar at the same time?
I use the calendar to keep track of not only my schedule, but my entire family's. For years I had a calendar labeled 'kids.' Now as they're getting older it would be easier to have an individual calendar for each child. Easier for me to track where they are and they could have they're own calendar on their iphone or iphone touch since we all share one cloud account. However, frequently more than one is at the same activity. The calendar program will only allow me to select one calendar to place an event under; as soon as I select another, it deselects the first. Is there a way to place an event under more than one calendar?
(Since I'm still the one driving that needs to know date, time, place, etc type details I don't want them adding it to their own schedule - maybe - on their devides and synching through cloud)You can create many calendars. Here's the tip:
Example: you have 1 son and 1 daughter.
In iCloud ( https://www.icloud.com )
Create 1 calendar called Son ( Choose a color to tell them apart )
Create 1 calendar called Daughter ( Ditto )
Create 1 calendar called Kids
Since you are the creator, you get to see all calendars combined.
Send invitations to each of them
Son gets Son and Kids calendars
Daughter gets Daughter and Kids calendars
So if there an event for Son, just put in that calendar
If it's for both then enter it in the Kids calendar
Likewise for daughter. -

I bought this program so I could email 150 pictures to a Kinkos to be printed this is the only program they could open them up and now I can't figure out how to email more than one at a time is there any way for me to email more than one of these files at a time if so how do I do it??

Large pdf(40MB) with 600 pages color quality is poor if i print more than 1 or 2 pages at a time.
I have a 40MB PDF file with over 600 pages of color images. If i print each page one at a time, there is no issue whatsoever with the quality, but if i print say 5 pages, the 4th and 5th page and any subsequent page will look like rubbish. In general, just not the same color quality as before. The Konica Minolta printer doesn't seem to be at fault here because like i mentioned, this problem does not occur if i print individual sheets, just if i print more than 5 or so.
Printing individual sheets in this instance, however, is not a real solution because in all the job will have many thousand pages. What do i do? Any one here experience a similar problem?You were able to catch me whilst my Konica Minolta tech was here.
This is my take on his diagnosis,
The c353 while capable of quality output is not exactly a robust production level machine.
Without the aid of a RIP, all the processing needs to happen either in memory or it may have a hdd. Does the machine have a hard drive?
In either case, you are running out of memory.
Changing the printers properties on spooling may aid in completing the job.
He mentioned sending the job as raster. Print as Image from Acrobat's Advanced tab would do that, but I think you would cripple your computer doing such. Try it; be prepared to go out to lunch or something while it churns away.

ITunes 8.1 Can't Seem to do More Than One Thing at a Time
I upgraded to 8.1 and now, rather than a "faster" iTunes experience as was advertised on Apple's website, iTunes can't seem to do more than one thing at a time without locking up the application completely. For instance, when trying to download podcasts if I choose to hit more than one "Get" button at a time iTunes will freeze up until the first podcast has completely downloaded. During this time I cannot access any other screen in iTunes at all.
This freezing of iTunes also occurred while I was trying to sync my iPhone 3G. I received the Calendar sync error that a few other people have mentioned on the forum and wanted to turn off Calendar sync (since I don't use it and don't understand why iTunes turned it on by default, apparently, after the upgrade) but I had to wait for my iPhone 3G to completely sync before I could gain access to any of the tabs in the iPhone sync window.
So, basically it seems like the new version of iTunes (8.1) really doesn't like to be bothered while it is trying to copy data from one place to another.
Any ideas?I'm using Vista Ultimate 64-bit and iTunes 8.1 installed OK, but required a restart of the entire OS after upgrading. It takes forever to launch, clicking on certain items (like applications) causes itunes to freeze for about 15-30 seconds before it continues (this is actually something that's been there since the introduction of the app store), I've had to switch my library view to LIST and avoid any sort of album art. Using album art to view my library causes iTunes to be extremely, obnoxiously unresponsive.
The best part - plugging in my iPhone to sync it... iTunes simply sits there dumbly - doesn't even recognize that I've plugged my iPhone in. So now I can't even sync. QUALITY product, quality. So the app I'm FORCED to use to manage my phone doesn't even work after upgrading. Outstanding.
I'm terrified of uninstalling and reinstalling... the last time I did that with iTunes it jacked my library up... it "lost" all of my music... basically it disassociated all of the music (even the stuff purchased through the itunes store) with the index file so I had to re-import EVERY song and delete the duplicate entry.
I searched a ton of forums looking for any clues as to how I could improve performance... All I run into is apple fan boys flaming any and all forums to the point of PC *****, no Apple *****, and so forth. Extremely unhelpful.
The fact is this - if I wasn't forced to use iTunes to manage my non-jailbroken iPhone 3G, then I'd dump it completely. It is a horrible app. Why punish the customers that haven't gone the route of "jail breaking" their iPhones?
One individual on one of the forums suggested that blue screens, and all the other random errors, including slow performance were due to a lack of RAM. I have 4GB of RAM on my machine I can run a virtual Fedora core 9 machine and a virtual WinXP machine on my Vista x64 box and still not have any performance issues with those two virtuals in the background sucking up system resources, yet with nothing open and less than 50% of my 4GB of RAM in use iTunes performance is abysmal. I have not run into any other application on my Vista machine that performs as badly as iTunes.
And Apple is touting a "64-bit" version of iTunes - it isn't. The applications the 64-bit installer installs are all 32-bit.
So, I'm searching as the two of you are for an answer to horrible performance of iTunes.
Even exiting out of iTunes takes a day and a half... "saving itunes library".... And my "library" isn't that big. -

I was looking at the Motorola S10-HD but after further review saw that it only pairs with one device at a time.

You can only pair one device at a time to your 8330, or any other phone for that matter. The "pairings" are saved to the phone, you can use one or the other and you won't have to pair it again. Once you turn your bluetooth device on and the phone is on, they will find each other again.

Encore can't burn more than one DVD at a time: Sense Code 56400
For a long time now I've been unable to burn multiple DVD's at a time. I burn more than one and I get an error and have to make a coaster out of yet another DVD
I just upgraded to 24 gb of DDR3 PC 1600 RAM, I have an 6 Core Processor, I have 7.8 on everything accept my hard drive which is 7.0 out of 7.9 according to my Windows 7 Pro. 64 bit system.
I have 2 different DVD burners, one is a blu-ray burner too. I have the same issues, only different error readings it seems, on both drives. The first drive didn't burn even one for some reason so I tried the second. The second drive would burned 3 and on the fourth I got the errors' which I've included screen shots of below. I was surprised I got through three before I got to this error. By the end of the week I have a large project I need to make 30 DVD's of. HELP!!!!!
A long time ago on my older machine I had similar problems and I went through different drives and discs until I seemed to come up with the magic combination which seemed to be a Plextor burner and Verbatim. But, then i got a bad batch of verbatim and tried Maxell and used those successfully for a while. Right now I'm using what a friend gave me, TDK's. I'm wondering if that's what the problem is... HELP!!!!I have managed to get it to work consistently now. I just burned 20 DVD's without a problem.
I tried everything you suggested except the imageburn software. I didn't like that site, I was too anxious to try and figure out where to download that software in the midst of all the advertisements on that site.
After clearing out everything in startup and services except what I needed I still wasn't able to burn successfully. Finally I went and purchased some Verbatim DVD-R discs and wahlah! Actually, after the first try with the verbatim I had an error code when trying to burn with Encore. So, I created and image file as you suggested and then I used Cyberlink's Power2Go to burn the image file and from there on it seems everything is solid.
I think the biggest problem was using TDK discs. I came to the realization a few years ago that certain disks are not as predictable as others and that verbatim and maxell seem to be the best. I did get one bad batch of verbatim though one time and that's when I switched to Maxell. My friend gave me 200 of the TDK's and I've been having problems ever since. But, I wasn't sure what it was exactly because he gave me those around the same time I rebuilt my system.
I had also found the Plextor seems to be the best bet for burners. But, I had been using an HP one lately and thought maybe that was the problem. However, now it seems to be fine.
I really don't know what fixed it. I mean, nothing definitely worked until I started using the Verbatim today. But, that first verbatim erroring perplexed me. I had done some other things too, like removed some programs, like a bunch of HP printer crap. I even removed my virus software, Window Security Essentials. I just reinstalled it so now I'm wondering if I can burn as consistently. I had seen somewhere where someone said they removed Windows' Defender to get theirs working.
Anyways, I guess what I need to do is format my main hard drive, only put adobe stuff on it, and then take my old computer set it up for everything else. That'll probably be the best thing to do... If I have anymore problems like this I'm doing that right away! -
Photoshop can't open more than one graphic at a time without crashing
I get the error:
The instruction at "0x7c918af2" referenced memory at "0x00000010". The memory could not be "written".
Anytime I try to open more than one image in Photoshop at a time, regardless of how I do it - doesn't matter if I choose the image and "open in photoshop" or if I am in photoshop and go to "file/open".
It's Photoshop CS3. I have already uninstalled, restarted the computer and reinstalled. I tried to "repair/change" from Windows, but it asks for the CS3 cd and then CS4, which I don't have since I'm using CS3.
This is quite frustrating as it would be nice to be able to merge photos and the myriads of other things you can do with multiple images at once, if opening them does not crash your program.mikeobe wrote:

Or, just intall by new printer but do not Delcare it as the Default printer, I guess in this instance there would be NO default printer?
You may not even have the problem!
Have you installed the new printer yet?
There are many more people who don't see it happen than those who do.
PS: there is always a default printer.
