736 continuous images reduced from 2272 x 1704 to 240 x 180 for no reason?

My iPhoto library has 13,381 images. About a month ago I noted that some images had been reduced in size. A continuous block of 736 images dating from October 23, 2005 to January 10, 2006 have all been reduced from their original size to a 240 x 180 size. When I try to revert to original, the command is grayed out indicating that I am looking at the original, which I clearly am not.
All the shots were taken by two Canon four megapixel cameras, a G3 PowerShot and a PowerShot S400.
I have rebuilt the library with no help. Any suggestions would be welcome both on how to fix these images and on how to prevent this from happening again. Does anyone else have experience with this?

Interesting, the other size of thumbnails auto-created by iPhoto is 360x270. The images you're seeing are definitely thumbnails created by iPhoto, the mystery is how they became originals.
So when you control-click on the thumbnailed file in iPhoto and choose "Show File", you can Command click the title of the Finder window that shows up, and see the path to the file.
It should look something like this:
Macintosh HD
Users
<yourname>
Pictures
iPhoto Library
Originals (or Modified)
2006 (or some other year)
Roll 12 (or some other number)
Does the location of these thumbnails indicate anything? If you choose the year, you should see folders with Roll names. As I mentioned, roll names that look like Roll 12 and Roll 12_1 are suspicious, indicative of a second hierarchy imported into the existing one. The _1 indicates that there was already a Roll 1 and iPhoto imported another complete roll with the same number.
Normally when you import new pictures, iPhoto increments the roll counter unless you import a hierarchy of rolls (e.g. another library, or a set of photos in another library)
Even though you mentioned there are no duplicates for the dates, I just remembered that iPhoto may use the thumbnail creation date and not the date of the original photo.
You might have to look for actual content to ferret out the problem:
- See if you can find a photo you recognize is a thumbnail, and its date is NOT the date you recall. e.g. a New Years party whose date is March 4, 2006.
- See if there's another photo for any of the ones thumbnailed

Mate, I'm trying to find out if it was shipped like that or not. If someone else has had the same issue then I can go back to Apple and have them look into it further. If not then as I said Vodafone is selling second hand phones and they will have to replace the phone.
Vodafone account manager is saying that he has never heard of anything like it.
So I'm left with one of 3 answers.
1: The phone was shipped like that so its a factory error.
2: The Apple genius doesn’t know what he's talking about then I can go back to the store and ask for a second opinion.

How did you go about transferring your library onto the iMac? There are specific instructions one must follow to do this correctly without causing loss of data. Simply signing in via your Apple ID won't do much of anything unless you are an iTunes Match subscriber.
Did you just copy the entire iTunes folder over? If so, Quit iTunes then hold down option and click the iTunes icon in the Dock. Don't release option until the popup appears asking if you want to create a new library. Simply navigate to the library in the folder you copied over.
If you didn't go about transferring your library in that way, and you still have the MacBook Pro, follow these instructions to transfer your library properly to avoid data loss.

Batch image processing from bridge cause photoshop to crash

But first it goes ahead and processes the images selected in Bridge. All of them like even over a hundred at a time (great time saver!). Then displays a message for each image in one error dialogue saying, "Sorry Photoshop couldn't process the image. . ." for each image.
It also saves the images to the a folder above (in hierarchy) instead of the folder I select in the batch dialogue. I've tried using Batch process from within Photoshop and get the same result as image process from Bridge.
While I am able to do the processing I need, it's annoying to have the force quit Photoshop each time, and Then to move the processed images where they belong.
I am on a G5, 4mb ram, OSX 10.4.11. Photoshop CS3 #10.0.1, and bridge CS3 # 2.1.1.9.
I usually do the updates when I'm alerted, but haven't heard of anything recently.
Any ideas?

Try changing the size to something very small.- see below
Try changing the compression. Not affected by the level of Quality (2% 50% or 100%) - all fail to load
Try changing whether a color-profile is embedded or not. Not an option AFAIK in LR Export
Try changing if the metadata is minimized or not. Not an option AFAIK in LR Export
Try changing if the JPGs are exported relative to the source image or some fixed location. Exported to a specific location.
If I use the Image export resize option it loads OK (resize to 1000*673 from 3916*2634).
Older exports (from LR2.3 and earlier, of the same size image, and source DNG are OK)
A centre crop from the Image (1205*691) is OK. A marginal crop (2 edges) (3838*2552) is OK whereas a very slight crop at (3693*2614) FAILS
The camera is Leica M8, images is in Leica RAW format (DNG).
It appears to be function of Image export size (reduced either by Cropping or by 'Resizing on Export'

Images cut from Microsoft Word document being picked up in the file size by Acrobat distiller

I have a large MS Word document (book manuscript) with almost 400 images (all grayscale) and found that the tiff images needed to be replaced with jpegs to reduce the file size. I created the jpegs, cut the tiff images from the document, and inserted the replacement jpeg image for each tiff image cut. It reduce the file size in Word from 595 Mb to 210Mb. However, when I ran the distiller, it is somehow picking up the file sizes of the tiff files as it still gives roughly the same output (595 Mb) for the Acrobat document. Is there a way I strip out the tiff image overhead from the pdf or a way I can cleanse it from the MS Word document? Thanks in advance.

Acrobat automatically compresses images when a PDF is made, usually doing something equivalent to JPEG (it's your choice, check the creation options).
So, changing from TIFF to JPEG in the original file will usually make not a bit of difference to the original file size.
There is no simple 1 to 1 connection between the size of a Word document and a PDF. Some things are bigger, some are smaller.
You can experiment with Save as ... optimized PDF settings. Also, use Audit Space Usage in that dialog to see what is using the space.

Images saved from Mobile Safari are significantly degraded

When I tried to use an image saved from Mobile Safari as my wallpaper I noticed that it looked horrible. It was blurry and more importantly the dynamic range of the image had been compressed, blowing out all the detail in the bright areas of the image and making it contrastier. This is especially bad on the type of photo I was trying to use, a high-key image, where most of the detail is in the light tones. Much of the image was simply displayed as blank white.
As a test I tried emailing the image I had saved into Photos to myself and compared it to the original I had saved from the web. Sure enough, the image was blurrier and had less dynamic range so it's not just an iPhone display issue. Also, the image was only 27% smaller in file size and the pixel dimensions were actually slightly increased. A quick re-save in Photoshop with JPEG quality set to low (4) reduced the file size by 53% while still not affecting the image anything like what the iPhone did. So it doesn't make sense that the poor quality is only due to resizing for faster transmission.
Can anyone else confirm this or replicate the issue? I've verified this with a 1st gen and 3G iPhone side by side, both running OS 2.1.

I would like to create a pop-up window appear from Labview Interface. In this window, I will have a slide control and an image taken from a camera. The main VI have to run while pop-up window is open. How can I do ?

Here you go. This is simple example. Maybe not the best way, I am just
beginner in LV and still not comfortable with data flow that much. I prefer
events, so I would change this to use Event Structures.
When you click on OK button on SliderMain, it opens Slider.vi. Now both
windows are open and you can interact with both. Now if you click on OK
again with Slider.vi open, you run into problems. Only thing I did was
change VI properties of slider.vi, mainly window appearance.

Continuous image scroll

I have made a continuous image scroll, but as it it loops it
messes up my spacing between my images. I am trying to scroll about
25 images each of which are are their own movie clip. I have this
code which works well for five images now I want to ad about 20
more.

The tutorial I am using states this:
"if(_x>=540)" value depends on the no. of movie clips.,
but I am confused as to where the 540 comes from? is it the length
of all of the movie clips put together?
I am confused as to how to alter this so it works with around

Assuming that this clip event is attached to the MC
containing the images, you could use the _width value of the clip
to determine the start and ending point of the movement.

Acquire continuous images

i create a pattern matching VI by using Vision builder 6.1. When i run the VI, the program ask me to select file for ome time. when i run the VI in continuous mode, the program keep asking me to select file.
what I want the VI is to import the live images recieve from the carmera and generate the shape report spontaneously rather than asking me to select file. from folders.

If you only want to acquire one image at a time you will probably want to use IMAQ Snap. Another acquisition method is a sequence, which is demonstrated in the following example program:

Problem using Image Processor from Bridge

I have been using the Image Processor to process photos from Bridge for quite some time. However, I recently received an error message when I try to initiate Image Processor from Bridge and I have not been able to find any help topics that address my problem: I select images in Bridge to process, then click "Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor". Photoshop opens and the familiar Image Processor dialog box opens. Item 1 in the dialog box says "Process files from Bridge only" and has the number of files I have selected in parenteses. I select the file type and other settings in #3, and preferences in #4. When I click "Run", I get an error message window that says: "Script Alert. There were no source files that could be opened by Photoshop". The Image Processor works if I open the files in Photoshop first, then run it by selecting "File>Scripts>Image Processor" and tell it to process all open files.
Would someone be able to help me with this problem?

Usually when it worked before and not now, and you have added no new software or hardware I recommend resetting the preferences. Hold down the Ctrl key and click on the Bridge icon to start. You should get a reset window with 3 options.

Installed photoshop cc (2014) and lost image processor from Bridge

How do I get back Image Processor from the Tools drop down menu in Bridge? I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Bridge and Photoshop and have no positive results.

I know some modules went kablooey when I uninstalled Photoshop CC 14.x but I fixed it by uninstalling everything and reinstalling.
Maybe try the CC Cleaner Tool?

How to get all image files from a folder to wwv_flow_files?

Hi there!
Is it possible in apex to show, in a report look-a-like, all image filenames from a folder in another machine (i enter in that machine by ip) and insert all files into wwv_flow_files?
I want to see all files, then pick one and open a image...
But it can't be by browse item... it has to show all filenames as a list...
If it is possible, how can i do it?

Then for each files you copy the response into a BLOB to be able to show it or to store it in a table.
