7373 and contact image

Hi
I have some serious problems adding contact pictures with my new 7373 phone.
It keeps telling me "operation failed" after I press the save button at the end of the process...
It dosn't matter in which way I approach. I can go through the contact list select a picture from the memory card --> failed. from the phone --> failed. Take a new picture --> failed. I Also can go through the gallery --> also failed. The funny thing is it works for very few contacts. But I think I have saved them all on the phone and not on the sim... I don't see why it dosn't work for by far most of the contacts...

I don't think there is a software update for my phone because it is only a few days old. I thought of that myself and checked the software version here on the nokia site and in my phone. But it seems my phone has even a newer one than available on this site. It says v5.0 and here I can only get v4.7
I managed to "solve" the problem by deleting all contacts and reenter them with the phone itself. I can tell you that was hell of a lot work.... I hope I never have to do this again if I get a new phone...

My iCloud and Contact images keep getting mixed up with my wife's

My wife and I have two different iCloud accounts but we have Family Sharing enabled. Whenever I change my iCloud image (the little picture that shows up whenever I send an iMessage, for example) it also changes her image, so we end up chatting with both of our icons looking the same. And then when I change her image, for example in my address book, it changes my iCloud image to match hers. So we always end up with the same icon. How can I make sure we each have separate images for our separate iCloud accounts, and in our respective address books?

log in to iCloud.com and check the contacts that are stored there.
Make sure that YOUR contact info is identified as the "MAKE THIS MY CARD"
to do that go to the settings icon (bottom left) and click on the MAKE THIS MY CARD option

No, when you get a call it's a small round image of your contact if you have set it up.

How do I get my contact images to appear in the message plus app?

My contact images will not appear in the message plus app where the avatar is.

Press and hold on the body in vz msgs then press and hold on face. Press and hold on face again then choose picture and save

Any way to print an email without the header/contact image?

Friend of mine doesn't have a printer and he sent me an important email to print out for him.
However it prints the [Address Book] contact image as well - not only does this waste ink, but I don't want the goofy contact image I have of him printed on 'official' documents. Is there any way to not print the header part at all, or at least not the contact image?

Just select the text you want to print and paste it into a text edit document and print from there.

Nokia 6300, iSync, and Contact Photos-

Unfortunately, two things didn’t sync up: Birthdays and Contact Photos. After politely asking people if there was any way to get these to work (especially photos, as it’s nice to see someone’s picture pop up on the phone for faster recognition before you unceremoniously reject them) I tried to tackle this one on my own. I was able to dig around in the plist files of the Nokia N93 and glean the few lines that make both of these details available to the Nokia 6300 plugin.
Before we begin however, I’ve noticed some problems that can occur with Photo syncing. PLEASE READ THIS THOROUGHLY before continuing: it’ll save some head-banging and frustration later.
Failing to follow the following guidelines will result in a completely failed sync. Should this happen, I simply deleted all of my contacts on the phone (phone memory, not SIM card), tried to determine the problem, and tried again.
Also, note that if you do end up deleting all of the contacts on your phone, you’ll also lose your 1-touch dialing and the entries in your caller groups (but not the groups themselves).
Here we go:
Do not use .GIF files — JPG only! (I didn’t test PNG)
You cannot drag-and-drop from a web-page directly onto a contact. Although this works for Address Book in that you’ll see the ‘image edit’ window pop-open, and you can save your contact, when it comes to iSync your entire sync will fail. If you want to use someone’s image (from Facebook, for example) simply drag the photo you want from the web-page onto your desktop, and then drag the photo from your desktop onto the Address Book entry’s ‘contact photo’ area. You’re then free to delete the image from your desktop.
You cannot sync with a ’smart group’ that you created within Address Book. This has more to do with iSync than the new plugin, but it’s a pain nonetheless. Physical groups only!
When a sync fails, you are not told what failed, or why it failed. iSync detailed logs are useless too, stating only:

Fun! What I did was create a ‘temp’ group, set iSync to sync with that folder only for contacts, and then slowly add contacts into that temp group until a failure occurred so that I knew what the offending entry was.
The plugin that I’ve created is essentially just the one from the site listed above, but with some additional properties put into the PhoneContuit.plist and SyncEngine.plist files.
As with everyone else, I take no responsibility if this completely fcks up your phone or Address Book, but please do backup both your Address Book (File -> Back Up Address Book…) and your phone’s contacts (I typically just copy everything to SIM). I can say that this has worked fine for me for a day now, with a fair bit of testing. After I cleaned up my offending image-entries, it’s been great.
To install: Quit iSync, download the following zip file, and drag-and-drop the plugin into your system using the shortcut, and sync away.

when you say "Re-upload the image", do you mean reinsert it, or re-link it?
Neither.
Re-upload it to the web server from your local hard drive. In DW, click on the image file in the Files panel then click the Up arrow to Put the image to the server.
If that does not work, do as Nancy suggests and re-create the image in your image editor then re-upload.

LIghtroom And Contact Sheets...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Hello, I am in dire need of help (deadlines! ahhhhh!).
So we have been using lightroom for a couple of months now.
I work as an assistant at a professional studio which does weddings and some private family jobs.
We work on power macs which both have enough power to plan a trip to the moon.
We print on a Canon IPF 5100 and a 5000. Matte Epson 3* paper.
Each wedding is generally 5-7 Sets with 400-600 .NEF images each.
So heres the problem. Contact Sheet Resolution!
We never really had too much trouble with contact sheets, and only recently has it been noticed. Our images are printing so blurry it is hard to tell if eyes are open ect.
We had been printing on draft mode until now. I understand draft mode doesn't produce a fine image, but it seems they were never this bad.
So I tried turning draft mode off. It took hours to process every image (render it down/quality) and then it just wouldn't send it to the printer (at this point I want to throw a brick through my screen).
So my options with LR at this point are complete crap and a few wasted hours with no result.
I have gone back to CS3...A program which makes LR look like MS Paint...
The only problem is this is pretty time consuming and not very flexible.
So Please For all the is worthy on this earth...How can I use LR in a productive way???
How do you Print C.S's?

Hi, I recently upgraded to LR2 (after having used LR1.4). When making contact sheets (3 across and 3 down) I notice that the quality of the outputted PDF file is terrible (I never recall it being this bad with LR1.4; in fact, I recall being able to zoom into the contact sheet quite far and still see decent resulotion). I have fiddled with the Print settings, tried printing in both draft and otherwise (which can take forever). I have tried re-importing the files and rendering both standard previews and 1:1 previews, but nothing seems to have corrected the problem I am having.
A few interesting points:
- Using the same photos and contact sheet configuration, the actual size of a contact sheet created in LR1.4 vs. LR2 is different (the LR1.4 contact sheet was actually a larger file). This would explain why I recall better resolution from the LR1.4 sheets I used to create.
- In LR2, I notice that the portrait photos on contact sheets are lower quality than the landscape photos. I understand that they are actually larger on the sheet (so it might make sense at first look), but even when zoomed into, the landscape photos retain higher quality longer. I don't recall this happening with LR1.4.
Am I doing something wrong with the creation of my contact sheets or is there a setting that I am missing? Any input would be appreciated.

The contact image is gone once you activate call i...

i just got my nokia 5800.. and i have assigned some image "assign as contact image" to my contacts... so when that particular person calls, his or her picture will be shown.then i went into settings ---> personal---> theme---> this is this option called call image. You can choose user defined which means that you can assign one particular picture to show everyone anyone calls...however when i want to deactivate it , i choose none as previous but now the contact image does not show anymore when that person calls!
is this a bug or am i not getting the setting right?

can i ask what software version are you currently having? mine is V20.0.12 . mine is currently set to "none" and my contact image does show when the respective person calls but if i change and set a pic for the caller image and later get it back to "theme image" it will no longer show the contact image but the default wallpaper for that particular theme. I thought that this could be a problem with the theme itself because i have notice something very strange too.. certain theme which i'm using ( not the default theme supplied by Nokia) when i try to change to the other tabs for example bluetooth, there is no response, doesn't work but once i change back to default nokia theme , it works.

Can't change contact images in Address Book

I am trying to update contact images in Address Book. Everytime I add a new image, it blinks for a moment, then goes back to being black. In my email, the images flit between being available, being old images, and being blank. I've been trying for two hours so it's not a "sync" or "just wait" issue. It keeps telling me that I am a different person, assigning a different contact card to myself, flitting back and forth between contact cards declaring that they are "me," and randomly allowing or not allowing pictures to be updated. What's going on?

Please realize that is only slightly more helpful than it started with a letter in the alphabet and ends in plist. Almost everything in that folder starts with com.apple. That is the default naming convention. It is a reverse domain name system (think reverse web address). So all Apple's preferences start with com.apple.
For anyone trying to fix a similar problem, please don't randomly delete plist files. While most will cause no harm and will get rebuilt automatically, deleting some will cause a little shock and awe. com.apple.mail.plist being the most shocking. If you delete it, you will not see your email in Mail until you recreate your accounts exactly as you had them before you deleted the plist. The email is still there, it is just that Mail doesn't know how to find them.

Big Colour and detail changes between Original Nikon RAW files and the images created on the Preview page! Yes there are distinct visual changes when I preview my Nikon NEF RAW Files.Please note I do not use iPhoto at all.
If you view it as a contact sheet straight from the original folder there are no alterations but the moment you double click and want to 'Preview' it, this new preview page introduces very noticeable distortions : lighter shading goes missing and colour goes darker e.g orange turns red and mid blue goes deep blue! Alarmingly the little column on the left of the preview page showing the collection shows the original file colours and then after a few seconds show the new distorted image...you can see this visible change and it takes place after a few seconds once you double click! Also if you use Apple's 'Cover Flow' to preview, this function will replace your original RAW file with the new 'altered preview' image!
I have raised this with Apple but they have yet to reply...has anyone ever experienced this? I have used my Mac book for 18months only noticed it about 5 days ago!
I went to Apple store and we tried it in other laptops and Macs and it happened to all of them so we think this is a software issue and not down to the laptop.
Any help is much appreciated!

Contact Images in Latest Sykpe for Desktop

I updated Skype from 6.21.59.104 to 6.22.81.104 today. In the previous vesion the images shown alongside contacts were square boxes. The new version shows these imagec clipped to circle.
I don't like that, because: first - it is just ugly and second - the images loose some detail and that make them less recognisable.
Is there a way to set contact images back to square?
While I am at that - is there a way to set the size of the contact images?

Google Contacts Images (It's driving me nuts!)

Hey everyone! I have been a long standing Blackberry user, and for the past year I've been using Android and one of the best features of Android is how closely my device was tied to Google (Calendar, Mail, Contacts, etc).
I'm back to Blackberry! I love the 9900! It's a fantastic device! (maybe not the camera, but everything else yes!).
BIS offers Google contacts syncing, but no contact images. Google has the GSync tool, which doesn't offer syncing of images either while it does offer Google Calendar syncing of multiple calendars on my account which is just fantastic.
I've tried multiple ways of getting my contact images onto my computer then sycning via outlook to, but it gave me a lot of problems, while it did give me contact images.
Please, can anyone offer any way to get images for my contacts? I have over 1,100 contacts (for work) and keeping an image helps a lot and this seems like something SO Basic!
Does Blackberry Protect offer image backup, too? I could sync ONCE to OUtlook then to my BB, then just use Blackberry Protect. Or does anyone have any ideas!?

N95 Contact images

Hello
I upgraded my N95 software and i forgot to backup my photos.
I noticed the images i had saved to contacts were still added as a little thumbnails when you look at the contact and also when the contact rings, but they dont show up im my images folder.
Is there a way that i can get the photos back.

There is no way to recover the photos from the phones memory. The contact images are very small low res files that are saved within the contact.
There may be a way to export them using microsoft outlook but as soon as you try to enlarge the picture they will become very blurry and pixelated.
