7515 Program will not open

I have an HP 7515 All-in-One printer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the operating programs on my Dell XPS 8700 Win7 Pro several times and it says everything is working the way it should but when I click on the desktop icon, the program will not open. I need to print an address on an envelope so I need to get into this program. Any suggestions?

I'd like to help get your Photosmart 7515 up and printing from your computer. I am not aware of an area in the printer software that is installed on the computer's Desktop that allows you to print an envelope, but I hope this helps get the icon working again.

Same proble here, although the Firefox system requirements says it is OK to have PowerPC G3 G4 or G5 ( I have G5 2GHZ)
My solution; very simply use timemachine to restore the previous Frefox 3.x

Today my adobe cs2 suite programs will not open. They were working just fine a couple of days ago. And they have worked fine for years. I did not update to any new os that would cause them not to work. I really need to get some image work done soon and this is a real monkey wrench in my plans. I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall from the disc and it would not let me do that either. I tried to download picasa just as a quick alternative to get some images edited tonight and it would not let me open that either, even though it said it was good for 10.5 or above. So the only thing I can think of is that I downloaded something that changed some settings?

Programs will not open from Dock

I have updated my Macbook Pro with Yosemite which has led to - a lot. Programs will not open from Dock, they are just revealed in Finder. Scrolling with mousebuttons in a browser will zoom instead of scroll, the courser will not change after changing tool in Indesign. Just to mention a few problems i have discovered so far. I think I was an idiot to uppgrade to Yosemite. PLEASE HELP!

Open Disk Utility and Repair Permissions, then quit DU and Restart the MBP. If that does not clear the issues, restart again holding the Command and R keys, and from Utilities on the menu bar select Install Mac OS X. That will reinstall Yosemite but leave your content and settings intact. See if that repairs whatever is broken.

Back in the good old days when software was purchased on disk one could sell it (legally).
Please describe your problem. Give us some details to go from. Are you using iMovie 06, or something newer?

Quit Aperture, if it is running/ hanging.
Remove the file com.apple.Aperture.plist from the folder
Your home folder > Library > Preferences
The User Library is hidden by default. You can reveal it from the Finder's "GO" menu:
Finder > Go, then hold down the options ⌥ key, until the Library appears in the drop-down menu, select it and open the Library folder. Then go to the "Preferences" sub folder and remove the file
your Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist.
After removing the user preferences file, you will have to reset the Preferences, you selected in Aperture's preferences panel.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

The next time the crash happens, note the date and time the problem occurred, then go to Applications/Utilities/Console and copy the log starting at the time of the crash. Paste the log in a reply. Please do not use a screen shot as they can be hard to read. If there are repeated runs of the same messages, please post only one run. Be selective about what you post and don’t post huge amounts. Make sure there is no personal data visible. Information learned from Linc Davis.

InDesign CS3 program will not open - Win XP - after trying to open corrupt file.

Help! the program Adobe InDesign will not open up anymore.
Here is the story and what I have tried. One week on the 16th my server crashed two of the three hard drives failed (RAID) I had the two replaced. Since then all seamed to be ok but few of files were missing and some that I tried to open would crash InDesign I assume that the files got corrupt from the HD's going bad. Server kept telling me to run CHKDSK utility. I ran it and and some of the files reappeared. Today, thinking that the Chkdsk utility had fixed the bad files I tried to open one of the files that caused InDesign to crash and it crashed again.
Now I cannot open InDesign at all when I try to launch InDesign within 3-4 seconds Adobe will crash! Reboot and try again same thing.
I tried to delete the files in the Recovery folder thinking it was trying to open the corrupted file that it last tried to open. Same thing.
I moved the preference folder to the desk top thinking that it might have been causing the problem - no change.
I reinstalled InDesign over top of the existing program (did not uninstall first) rebooted and tried to launch - no change.
I tried system restore, None of my restore points that I have tried (auto restore points) will restore my system for what ever reason.
Please Help with any suggestions I need this fixed soon.

Installing CS3 was a pain, and the installer is very sensitive to conflict with just about everything under the sun, so you need to run it in a bare-bones boot (but not safe mode). I turn off ALL non essential programs and services using MSConfig when doing a CS3 install.
That said, yes, running the CS3 clean script will probably remove all things Adobe from the system. The Microsoft utility is much more benign than the description makes it sound -- it removes registry information for previous installations so there is no trace of them to confuse the OS. I'm not aware that it has removed anything other than what it was told to remove, but I've only had to use it once, I think.
You can try a simple uninstall/reinstall first (and you should be able to remove and reinstall just ID from the suite if you use the original disks). That will certainly be faster and less painful than the clean script, but may not work. Seems odd that a serrver crash should have corrupted a local installation, though, so you might want to take a close look at the machine for other problems, perhaps some sort of malware invasion.

Programs will not open up

I installed a new hard drive a Hitachi T1. i installed the OS Tiger to this hard drive then copied over the data from the 160gb hard drive during installation. I cannot get applications to open up. The one I can get is Opera. Safari or Firefox and Itunes will not open. I have booted the computer from the OS Disk and have repaird permissions and repaired the disk (it needed it). I booted back up into the Hitachi T1 but I still cannot get some of the programs to open. Itunes says that this version cannot be opened by my Tiger OS. Is there something I have missed? Should I just just zero out the drive again and reinstall the OS?
Please help!!!

The support files for the Applications, in the Library's Application Support folder,
are among several items the installed applications need in order to run in the OS.
When migrating to a larger hard disk drive, it is not uncharted territory for those
who do, to choose to get and use an externally enclosed FireWire hard drive
of a known bootable configuration, and clone the original system to this drive;
be sure it is a good clone, from a repaired and permissions OK original, and
that the external drive is properly reformatted and repaired, even use the zero-
overwrite option in Disk Utility and then reformat it, when new, can be good.
And use one of the better known clone utilities that are available as downloads
online, since these also have good help information and several people in these
forums (& elsewhere: searchable results online via google) use either SuperDuper
and/or Carbon Copy Cloner for their backup clones - some in addition to the new
Time Machine, so as to give themselves other backup options and full Mac clones.
Essentially, you clone the complete computer contents to the new hard disk drive
and this may mean one of two different paths could be taken before doing so;
one of them is to remove the computer's hard drive and put it into the external
FireWire enclosed drive housing; and then move a clone back to the computer
and on to the new hard drive, prepared for this, that was installed in the Mac.
The other would be to have the new drive in the external FW enclosure, be sure
it is OK and ready, then move the full computer clone over there. This would
keep the computer together and untouched inside until after it was established
the new hard disk drive did, in fact, have a good clone with no issues, first.
{In the process of making a clone, one of the issues which may surface is the
one where the permissions on the clone may be incorrect and then the Mac
later has a problem with the clone that did not exist in the original. There are
check boxes in the clone utility, where one can choose to ignore permissions
or alter them on the volume in question. This can be a cause of problems later.}
A large drive can be partitioned so other options in the future for storage or
a second bootable system could be installed later. This can be done early
on when setting up the drive, or later on, if there is a large block of free
space and a suitable disk utility is used to add partitions in the drive.
The software applications, programs that require all their bits to be put into
exact locations where the system would be expected to find them, are not
finding them when only parts are drag/dropped between drives.

Motion 3 program will not open

When Motion 3 opens, the Canvas Pane is all that is available to view. The Utility Pane is totally unavailable. It will not open from any tool bar icon, or other method. It just started doing this out of the clear blue. No updates, or file changes have taken place on the MacBook Pro.
I tried to uninstall and re-install the program. No help. I really need this program. Does anyone have suggestions?

Could be a preferences file problem - to quote Mark Spencer:
1) Quit Motion.
2) Navigate to User/Library/Preferences.
3) Locate com.apple.motion.plist and delete
