7520 smart photo printer

Hi, I have enjoyed this wireless printer, but would like to not use color printing with each printing. I have an Apple iPad and would like to know how to print black and white from the wireless option. Thanks,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Regarding the inquiry into printing from your iPad to the 7520 in a black ink only, unfortunately it is not an option. The printer does not control this, the Airprint driver on the iPad does.
Until Apple puts this feature into there Airprint driver it is not going to be an option for you. I am not aware of one, but you could try looking into apps available in the App Store that could make this happen.

Media Smart Photo Printing

I have a new HP and it has Media Smart. I transferred all of my photos to the new PC and they all loaded into Media Smart. I can access the pictures but when I try to print them it goes to the Fax center. I can get a pop up that says local printer but it goes right back to fax. Another window says I can close the program or go online to fix. I click go online and then everything freezes

HP Photosmart 7520 --- poor photo printing

Brand new printer. $100 in toner (including Photo Black Cartridge) and using HP Photo Paper (included in Toner Cartridge package). I have run diagnostic. Cleaned printer heads and alignment check and this is what my pictures turn out like. What is wrong.

The HP PhotoSmart 5514 is on Apple's list of AirPrint printers, so it should work. <iOS: AirPrint 101>
One problem might be that your WiFi router does not correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint. Contact the router's manufacturer to see if there is a change to its setup or a firmware update that will solve the problem.
I had a printing problem several months ago, where the WiFi had jumped to a neighbor's WiFi that happened to have the same name. There are a LOT of WiFi routers out there named "Linksys"!

Graded bands on photo prints - HP 7520 Photosmart

Hi,
I'm experienceing a problem printing photos with my new (less than 1 month old) 7520. All my photos are printing with perpendicular bands (equivalent to the appearence when printing in draft mode) no matter what settings I choose.
To prevent the usual "go to the troubleshooting page" message, I have:
1. Used HP Premium plus photo paper
2. Used genuine HP ink cartridges
3. Ran a clean cartridges cycle
4. Ran an align cartridges cycle
5. Changed all the cartridges
6. Selected the correct paper size, type and print quality in the print menu.
7. Ensured the print resolution is high enough
8. Printed via Wireless, USB connection and USB memorystick directly connected to the printer
Have I just bought a duff printer?
My previous Photosmart 2575 could print high quality prints. As this is the latest iteration of the photosmart range, what could be wrong?

Also, if you're using Windows, please include whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit. With this information we can provide you with accurate information.

Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Also, what type of photopaper are you using? Does this occur when printing photos from multiple programs?

Photo smart 245 printing

Hi, I ve a photosmart 245 and ve been printing on old HP photo paper which included a tab - perfect pics.
Now I'm using some non HP paper 6x4 Fuji but the photo prints too small for a 6x4 frame as it includes a tab space.
Two questions:
Can u turn off the printing of a tab space?
Currently available HP photo paper does not mention a tab. Will my photos print on this paper in the correct size for a 6x4 and not too small - is it possible to test?

The Photosmart 245 needs a tab to be able to print borderless. I do not see tabbed photo paper listed on the HP site, but a search turns up a number of options.

I used Colormunkie Photo to create an .ICM file for printer calibration. When that failed I tried changing the suffix to .ICC. Under neither circumstance did LR4.2 display the file in the menu to select printer profile. There were several display files with both suffixes but no printer files at all. I tried three times with no success and cannot think of what else to try. The first two were the same. I varied the file creation name suffix in the third. Help will be appreciated. My OS is Win 7 ultimate SP1 Printer is HP 2550L laserjet.

Glad you found your answer, Colormunki is smart enough to figure out the color space for the printer as I found out - But for quality work the latest generation of inkjet printers from Epson and Canon are hard to beat, and compared to a laserjet the quality is like night and day. The other benefit of changing up to an inkjet printer is the choice of papers available which you could not put through a laserjet.
I had a colleague that tried printing on Photoglossy paper through his color laser and it fried the fuser, and HP, while they replaced the fuser unit under warranty, made it very clear that that was a daft thing to do.
So if I were in your position I would go with an inkjet and you will then enjoy the benefits of better quality output, better paper choices and with your Colormunki be able to make custom profiles that will work in LR

EDIT button doesn't work in smart web printing.

My edit button doesn't work at all in smart web printing. I can clip & print okay but I can't edit my clips at all. I have vista & ie8. When I click edit, everything grays out in the smart web window & ie8 stops working. I have to recover my tabs but smart web is still grayed out. I have updated to the newest smart web numerous times but keep having the same problem, Please help!!!!

Reinstalling iPhoto would be the way to go. Hit F4 on the keyboard, hold your mouse on the iPhoto icon until it starts jiggling, then click the black cross that appears in the top right of it. Then, head to the Mac App Store (click the Apple in the very top left, it's the 4th one down) and then reinstall iPhoto. Deleting the iPhoto app shouldn't delete your iPhoto Library, but if you're worried, you can always make a backup... Time Machine will do it, otherwise - manual!
Go to Finder. Then in the menu bar along the top, click Go, then Home, then Pictures. In the pictures folder, you'll find the photo library file. Copy it to your desktop or an external disk.

How do I copy pictures from HP media Smart photo to my computer? I've tried right clicking and dragging. I don't normally use the MediaSmart Program and I'm not sure how I ended up with my pictures there....

Photsmart 7520 poor quality prints

A month ago I bought a Photosmart 7520 printer. I have consistent problems with print quality. I have to take the black cartridge out every couple of days and shake it. Photo prints are streaky and often in a weird selection of colours. It almost always prints a 'draft' quality print first time, wasting expensive paper. I have tried all the print head cleaning and alignment routines, at best they have a very short term effect. Is there something I can do, or should I just reject the printer as not fit for purpose?

The Print Quality issues shows up either if correct papers and print settings are not selected. We need to make sure we are using correct type and good quality papers and also Paper Type and Size same in the Print Drivers.

HP Smart Web Printing is NOT WORKING....UGH!

When I click the select button nothing happens. Everything freezes. IE stops responding, I can't close, open, right click, left click.....nothing. I tried several times and each time I had to end the task in Task Manager. I want to uninstalling then reinstall it, but I do not know where to find that option so I can do it. Am I running the wrong version for my OS? Vista Basic Home Premium is my OS and I am trying to run version 4.60 Smart Web Printing. Can someone please help me too?

HP Smart Web Printing should work with vista and IE 6, 7, or 8.
To uninstall a program go to the control panel and look for a program maintenence option. Select it and a list of installed programs will appear. Select the one you want to uninstall and go for it. Before trying to install SWP again, check to make sure you have the latest version.

Hp smart web printing does not work on firefox. HP says this is not their problem and to contact Mozilla. Is there a plug in available?

I just bought a new hp printer. the software has a feature called HP web smart printing. The feature works on explorer but not on Firefox. HP says this is not their problem and suggested I contact Mozilla. Is an add on available and if not will one be made available.
I am using v. 3.6.13. and the printer is HP Officejet 4500.

HP smart web printing is an application that only works with IE. In spite of what HP have told you, if they want their application to work with Firefox they will need to make a version for Firefox. It is not down to Mozilla to make a version of the HP software for Firefox.

HP Smart Web Printing interfering with Internet Explorer

Hello - I have a new dv7-4183cl notebook and I just added a new Photosmart C310 wireless printer. When I added the printer, I installed all of the programs included on the installation disc. Since then, I'm having a very annoying problem with the mouse pointer changing from the typical arrow to the precision select crosshair within the active window of Internet Explorer (not on the address bar, toolbars, bottom taskbar). The effect seems entirely random, but once the pointer changes to the crosshair, it does not change back and I am unable to select anything on the page with left clicks. I have to close the page and open another. If I have multiple tabs, some tabs will be fine and some will not. I also have Safari installed and the problem isn't there so it seems linked just to IE.
When the crosshair is on the screen, I can hilight a rectangular section and a small box pops up saying "clip.." and "print.." So, just to see what happens, I selected clip and it brought up a pane on the left side of the screen for HP Smart Web Printing. I hadn't used this, but it seems to be the culprit because it is randomly turning itself on (so to speak). I've looked through the preferences, but can't find a way to turn it off.
Has anyone had such an issue? Should I try to uninstall teh Smart Web Printing? Is there an update from HP? It is an annoyance, but enough of one that I would return the associated printer and choose another brand if there were no resolution possible. Thank you and happy New Year to all.

Yes, I had the same problem and I found out it is due to the HP software HP Smart Web Printing. If you uninstall that program the crosshair pointer will not show up anymore.

hi there,my hp deskjet d1660 works ok,but i have a problem.when i find a particular paragraph on a web page i click on select,Then drag the mouse to the picture,or paragraph.Then click clip,or print.The print box comes up,and i click print.The printer just puts out a blank paper.It worked fine the first 3,or4 times then every time i try to print a paragraph by going through the proper steps as obove the same result.The printer does not copy what i am trying to print.So I have to keep printing out the full amount of pages to print what i want.THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE INK IS VERY EXSPENSIVE!!!! When you say the screen always appears, are you wanting the HP Smart Print to minimize so that you can't see it, do you want it only to appear on one tab and not all of them, or are you wanting to get rid of HP Smart Print all together?
I'll do my best to help you but I do not have Internet Explorer 8. Also, what kind of computer are you using (ex. Windows 7, Windows XP, etc)? I hope I can help but I can not install IE8 right now since I am working with Smart Print and how it does not work at all on IE10. I'm more than happy to help if I can.
