755cm trouble printing pdf

I have a 755cm.  I print many pdf files from various sources.  I am regularly having the problem where the printer only prints certain elements of the file. If the file contains some gray elements, it will print only these, but if I check the "print as image" it will print everything except the gray items.
Sometimes the the printer will print almost the entire page, but will miss "blocks" of areas, almost like it is missing tiles of a complete picture.
Some pdf files print perfectly the first time.
It's hard to describe because I have many different results with different files.
I am using a network with WindowsXp and I have installed the latest drivers.

This forum is focused on consumer level products.  For the Designjet you may have better results posting in the HP Designjet forum here.

  • Trouble Printing PDF's scanned with Image Capture

OK this is a strange problem.  I have Macbook Pro and a Lexmark E230 laser printer which prints everything out just fine in safari, word, pages, numbers - anything except PDF's that are specifially scanned with the Image Capture application.
I printed four PDF's that were made from different sources, some just assembled JPEGs, one that was text printed from Pages, and another instruction manual randomly downloaded from the internet.  All printed fine.
My wife and I scan a lot for our home business and any PDF that we have scanned using Image Capture prints only the first page, then hangs, and then the rest of the document does not print.  If I try to print the second or other pages manually, I get an error printed on the page saying :
    ERROR: limitcheck
    OFFENDING COMMAND: image
    STACK:
    And the image partially prints.
I am aware of all driver issues, have tried using old drivers, completely reset the print system using the OPTION and ( - ) key in the printer system prefs.  I have also used the most up to date drivers, nothing seems to change this.  I am also aware of a printers limitations as far as using images or PDFs with a lot of memory.
The thing that makes me confused is that this all seemed to work perfectly before (in Lion) and even during the inital stages of Mountain Lion.  At some point (this is on my wife's computer), I'm not sure when the issues started exactly, I was unable to print PDFs scanned with Image Capture properly.
This used to work, now it doesn't.  Printer hasn't changed, types of documents haven't changed.  Any ideas?
    Thanks so much,
    Jim

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, bubblebanium!
I have experienced your problem on several occasions and found the culprit to be a corrupt font. Try selecting everything in the document and changing it to a font that you are certain prints. If the problem persists, try copying everything and paste it into a new document. If your document is several pages, try printing one page to hone in on the problem.
If the problem still persists, does your document have bullet items? If yes, and the bulleted items were created with the automatic bullet feature, then the problem may be the default font used for that feature (most likely the Symbol font).
To change to a different font, go to the Format menu, select Bullets and Numbering. Click on the style of bullets your document uses and then click the Customize button. In the next window, click on the shape of bullet your document uses and then click the Font button below. A Font window appears in which you can then select a different font. Afterwards, if the document prints, then the default font is probably corrupt and you may want to replace it with a good copy.
    Hope this helps.

DO NOT USE PREVIEW TO FILL OUT PDF FORMS, IT WILL DESTROY PDF FILES. Sorry, but I had to shout here to prevent damage to your PDF files.
Here is one of the symptoms when you fill out a PDF form with Preview: If you save it and return it to the author, they will not be able to see the text that you've added to form fields - unless they click on a field, which will reveal the contents of just that field. You can recover from this problem, but Preview will also remove other field types, and will actually rewrite your complete PDF while ignoring what it does not understand. Take a look at this blog post for more information about the damage that Preview will cause: Preview.app - Killer of PDF Files

  • Trouble Printing PDF Attachments in Outlook as "Fit to Printable Area"

If this has been discussed before, I apologize. I wasn't able to find the exact problem...
We use Outlook 2007 and Reader X here in my office. When we try to print an email w/ a PDF attachment, the attachment is not printing as "Fit to Printable Area," resulting in very tiny printed PDFs. If we open the PDF on its own, "Fit to Printable Area" is selected by default and the attachment prints as it should. The weird thing is... this is only a problem for some users. For others, the attachments always print as "Fit to Printable Area," even when printed at the same time as the email. Is there some kind of default setting for "Fit to Printable Area" that specifically applies to PDF email attachments? Is there some other reason why this problem only affects some users? Everyone is using Windows XP and we're all going to the same printer.
    Thanks!
EDIT: Does any one have any ideas on this at all? Thanks again.

In the past, I have overriden the Print dialog with my own dialog..
I've called the print function with param5 = true

  • I am having trouble printing pdf's on my iMac.

I can print pdf's if I open them in Preview.  However, if they open in Adobe Reader they do not print.  I suspect there is an isue with the soft ware.  I have tried re-downlading the software but it tells me it is already installed.  How do I "uninstall" Adobe Reader from my iMac?

Download AppZapper (It's a free trial)
    Install it and open it.
Drag the Reader app to the AppZapper window and "zap" it along with the associated files to the trash.
    Empty the trash.
Download the Reader FULL installer here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ to replace it.

  • Trouble Printing PDF's from MS Word

We have MS Office for Mac, version X, student & teacher addition.
Recently we found we can no longer print a Word document in PDF,
although we have no difficulty printing documents in Excel and other
Office components. When we try to print a Word document we do
not get any error message, just a very quick "progress bar" (1/2
second in length) and nothing more. Has anyone else had any experience
    with this?

  • Having trouble printing pdf from Safari

I'm new to Mac, so I'm hoping there is just some secret place I don't know about to adjust these settings.
Here's the issue: I am trying to print a pdf certificate (full page with a thin border on it) from Safari. When printed, the page is offset to the right and down, like there is some sort of default page margins set up in the browser.
What I've tried: There is no "page setup" option in the "file" menu. In the print menus (the ones that appear when you click the arrow next to the printer dialogue box), I have tried selecting a borderless paper, printing borderless pages (with the sliding bar at both ends of the spectrum), changing the orientation, changing the zoom, and creating a custom paper with custom margins.
No matter what I do, the page still prints out with a sizable margin on the top and left, the certificate border is right at the edge of the page on the right, and off the page on the bottom. This also happens when I print the page from Safari to a pdf, so it's not the printer.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
Don't rely on an HP updater to work. They don't quite understand a Mac mentality.
You can find the latest HP driver for your printer here.
Yes, a faulty printer driver will affect Safari's printing.
After you install the driver, "repair permissions" using Disk Utility found in your Finder's Applications>Utilities folder.

adobe 8. I am a lowly social worker- no tech training. What is OS? Sample file would be from our website newsletter www.golfound.com/newsletter/newletter.pdf . I learned how to just print a portion from the pdf but when I print an article that has a pic, you can't even make out the pic.
                            Thanks.
Oh, operating system (OS). I believe it is Windows 98.

  • Cannot Print PDF

I am having trouble printing PDF shipping labels from my Laser printer HP CP1215.
I have windows 7 using Google Chrome.
I looked at the Omnibox and found that under Adobe Reader it had Netscape and Firefox listed and I do not use either of those.
Could this be causing the problem? I can only print to save then I have to reopen the saved file and print from the saved file.
    I have Adobe Reader XI
How can I solve this print problem only with PDF's.
    Thanks
    Rodney

Most likely because the Chrome PDF viewer is not compatible with Adobe Reader; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

  • Problem with printing PDFs as 6 slides pr. page.

    Hi!
I am having trouble printing PDFs as handouts with 6 slides on one page.
I go through all the settings for the printer, and the print comes out ok, but the slides are printed up side down and in the wrong order.
Even though I have set the order in the printer settings.
    Anyone had the same problem?
Hope you can give me some advice.
    Regards,

PS! I do not have access to the original powerpoint presentation, otherwise I know I could print from that file...

    Thank you, it worked!

  • Why will Acrobat X not print pdf with watermark correctly?

Users with Acrobat X Standard have trouble printing PDF documents with watermarks that overlay the document text and block out some of the document text. The users with Acrobat XI Standard so far do not have this issue. How can this be resolved for the users with Acrobat X Standard? Is there a setting that makes the watermark print behind the document text?

    Hi,
    Something (maybe) that might help.
    With Acrobat 8 or 9 -
In the "Add Watermark" dialog; look for "Appearance Options" (lower third of the dialog window).
    Click on it.
In the "Appearance Options" dialog, be sure "Show when printing" is selected.
Test the PDF one a different computer using Adobe Reader.
    Be well...

  • F380 printer won't print PDF or Doc files

My printer won't print Docx files sent through email.  It also has trouble printing PDF documents.  It quits after the first page, and no matter what I do won't print the other pages. I'm using a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows Vista. I tried HP print doctor, but it couldn't find the problem.  I went to the HP site but found no new drivers for my exact printer, and a warning that if I uninstalled my current driver and installed one of theirs, they wouldn't provide any support, since my OS is older than Windows7.   I noticed that the person sending me these files has windows 10 installed on his computer.  (For what it's worth.) Printer works fine otherwise. Thanks!

  • Trouble printing landscape PDF

I am having difficulty printing a pdf document that is in a landscape orientation. The first page prints correctly, but subsequent pages either print lower and to the left on the page or they print in a reduced size and to the lower left. I am able to duplicate this issue in both Adobe Acrobat 11.0.05 as well as Adobe Reader. I do not have the issue if I print using Preview on Mac OS X. I am using Acrobat and Reader on Windows 7, 32 bit.

Some of docs are not created by me but are available as studies on
websites. On our docs, we import into InDesign. No, it does not print
correctly if I select landscape rather than auto. And sometimes I select a
page range to print and the command is ignored and prints the entire doc.
