#7590-black ink not getting thru to paper.Changed cartridge/cleaned printhead. Colors ok.

After 2 months of non use, ink not getting thru to paper, sounded as if printhead was working.
There was ink build up at cartridge, cleaned them and printhead. No help.
Changed cartridges. Colors m/y/c came thru but not black.
Any suggestions.

The ink levels reported are those that would occur if the cartridge were printing as expected.  If the black is clogged it would appear from the ink guage that ink was being expelled even if it were not.  Also, when the color ink is expelled into the service station it will mix and appear black even though it is made of the colors.
As for being a software issue, you can print an internal test page as shown in the troubleshooting document here.  That test page is not dependent on the computer, and the driver or other software is not involved.  The troubleshooting steps in that document may help resolve the issue.  If not I would suggest you Contact HP to discuss your options.

  • Black ink not printing hp 3520

I am also having trouble with the black ink not printing. I have tried everything that was recommended  with no results. When I replaced my cartridges I used genuine HP ink. I see a trend here! VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!

I recently had this problem where my black ink jet stopped working after I installed a new cartridge.  The printer was just a couple of months outside the warranty period,so I was stuck.  I went online and found HP instructions.  Following the different troubleshooting suggestions, I took out the cartridge and installed another new one.  The problem was still there.  After following every other advice given (such as aligning, cleaning cartridge heads, etc.) and using up all of the ink in my brand new expensive color cartridges, the only solution HP could give me was get it serviced ($90 just for someone to look at it!) or buy a new one (what a waste!).
So, I tried my own solution, which is as follows:   (1) completely remove the sticker from the vented side of the cartridge; (2) run the point of a safety pin through the vent (the whole trail); (3) wipe the circle where the ink comes out with a wet paper towel until it cleans to almost white; (4) over a paper towel, blow forcefully into the hole near the middle and then squeeze the sides of the ink jet until the ink squirts out (be careful as the ink may project out quickly and will stain clothes, carpet, etc.); (5) when the circle is completely saturated, re-install the ink cartridge; (6) using the copier function, print a copy of a document that is just black and white; (7) repeat about 2 to 3 times until the copies come out perfectly.
This resolved my problem; unfortunately, it was after I followed all the nonsense steps HP puts out that used up all my other cartridges.  Hope I can save someone the trouble.

  • HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer Black Ink not Working

My HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One does not print black ink but the color ink is working perfectly fine even though the ink status shows that there is black ink left. After I've changed a new black ink cartridge, it will start to work again but after one day it stop printing black ink again. I've only printed a page the previous day and the ink status shows that there's black ink left in it (close to full). I've tried the methods stated here (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03882718&cc=sg&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5305051) but the black ink still doesn't work. So how can I solve this problem??

    Hello @3oshua,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  I see you are running into some print quality issues on your HP Officejet 4630, you are unable to print in black ink, even after replacing the cartridges.
I see you have exhausted the steps listed here: Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages, with no success.
Please note: There are three printhead cleaning stages. Complete all three stages if necessary. If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last (third) cleaning stage to start the first stage of the cleaning process over again.
If you are still unable to print in black ink, I suspect the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. I highly recommend you call our technical support at 800-474-6836, to see what options they have available for you. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

You posted in the OS 9 & below forum. What OS X version are you using? What model Canon printer? Canon printers have a test print capability (open the Printer Utility). What happens when you do a test print? Are all the printer cartridges in their proper location? Sometimes when you print "black", the printer uses a mixture of the colors to get "black". In the Printer Utility, check the levels of the other cartridges. There may be one color that is clogged.

  • HP Officejet 6500 E709n printer - black ink not printing

I have an HP Officejet 6500 E709n printer and for some reason the black ink is not printing.  The color cartridges work fine.  I even changed the black cartridge, cleaned and aligned the print heads, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, but nothing fixed the issue.  I was wondering if the color management profile has something to do with this.  Please help!
    Thanks!

I am experiencing the same problem. I too, have tried installing a new black ink catridge, taking out the printer head and cleaning it by hand, cleaning the printer head using the HP software, doing a partial reset, doing a hard reset and nothing. Black does not print out at all, whether it's an alignment page, quality report or something from my own files (Word, Excel, PDF, etc). The black does not appear at all. Can someone PLEASE help solve this problem?
    Thank you

i am unable to configure my ipad 2 with my existing wifi of linksys though I have entered the all ip address as per my laptop but still I am not getting thru network kindly suggest the solution

The ip-adress cannot be the same as your laptop. You have to make sure that your ip-adress is unique in the network. if your ip is 192.168.1.100 try 192.168.1.112 or somthing. More advanced is to check avalible adress in your router.

  • Workflow not getting triggered on status change

    Hiii Everyone
Workflow is not getting triggered whenever I change the status of the Order (Lead).  When we create a lead a workflow is triggered.
    1. If the status is Open a mail is sent.
    2. Then the status is checked for in process. And whenever the  status is changed to inprocess it is assigned to the agent by   the  rule attached to the workflow.
    3. And again when the status is changed to sanctioned a mail is sent.
Now problem is if I create a lead and change its status to inprocess and then save , then the mail is sent and it is assigned to the agent properly. But when I change the status to sanctioned , then the mail is not sent for sanctioned(i.e. no worklfow step is shown in swel).
If I open the lead and save it then the mail is sent properly. But then after that when I change the status to inprocess, the workflow is not showing agent assignment (jn swel).
Summary: Whenever I cahnge the status after saving the order , the workflow is not showing any further step .
    Please suggest the solution.
    Regards
    Shafali

    Hi,
Your workflow has been triggered when the status is open and then when change the status to in process,it is not sending mail as there is no agent assignment.
That means, workflow triggered, but it is not going to the next step.
Is it a standard or custom one?
Can you post the workflow log screenshot over here?
    Cheers,
    Raja.D

  • I have a canon mg2100 series printer. I print shipping labels with black ink. I ran out and changed

I have a canon mg2100 series printer. I print shipping labels and use black ink. I ran out and changed the cartridge, now the text is faded looking and I can't read major parts of the label. I did the cleaning print head under control panel and it did fine, but when I try to print again it's still faded. Help!

  • Deskjet 3520 All-in-One: Black Ink NOT printing....

I am highly irritated right now. My printer is 3 weeks out of warranty. I just spent $60+ in new ink cartridges today. The color cartridges are working fine, but the black ink does not work. The printer acts like it's printing, but nothing shows up on the paper. I see multiple people with this problem on this forum and other forums. I called tech support....went through an hour of "troubleshooting", then got disconnected. Called back and waited 45 minutes for another representative to tell me that he would sell me another printer for $100+ including some start-up ink cartridges that won't last me very long. I JUST bought $60 in ink cartridges TODAY. I have tried to take the printhead off with no luck. I can't get the printer apart in order to take the printhead off. I was going to attempt to clean it myself, but it's impossible to take the thing apart.
I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied with hp's customer service and feel that they should back up their product when it stops working only 3 weeks after the warranty expires. I would love if someone could tell me how I can fix this problem, since the printer is in basically new condition and has brand new ink.
It's unfortunate that these products aren't made to last longer than a year. I will not buy another hp product.

  • Black ink not working

my hp photosmart premium c390g-m installed a few years ago has been working fine.
now will not print in black. new cartridge has been installed. cleaned printhead.
    alignment fails.
do i need a new printer?

    Hi dani-d,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand you have been using your HP Photosmart C309g for a few years with no problems, you recently changed the cartridges and now you are unable to print in black ink. You have cleaned the printhead but the alignment is failing. I would like you to try a few troubleshooting steps to try and resolve the alignment fail and print quality issues before I can make any suggestions regarding a new printer. Are you getting any other error messages on the C309g? Please complete the documents in order to try and resolve the issues you are experiencing:
    1. 'Printhead Problem' or 'Printhead Appears to be Missing or Damaged' Message Displays on the Computer- This document has you clean the printhead and contacts to make sure no ink has dried up and clogged the nozzles.
    2. An 'Alignment failed' Error Message Displays on the All-in-One- Next you will make sure the cartridges are properly installed and vented, and clean inside the printer.
    3. Now you will start Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues, here you will make sure all of the print diagnostics are printing fine and there are no more issues.
Please let me know if this was helpful, I will watch for your reply.
    Thanks,

  • Black ink not printing but not empty

My HP ENVY 5530 all in one printer is not printing black. I have checked the in level and it is 2/3rd's full. When I print a page, the color comes out but not the black. I have cleaned the printhead multiple times and when it prints the test page, all the colors come out but no black. The printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet.  I am very frustrated since this is a relatively new printer with both original ink cartridges.

Hello,  Since you have tried performing the Clean Printhead multiple times and the issue still exists, it seems to be an issue with the printing module/ printhead.  You might try with a new Black Cartridge and check if the issue could be resolved.Else, its time to get the printer replaced / serviced. Please call HP Tech Support for further assistance.

  • Only want to use Black ink, not color

I have used all pro 8500 with black ink only. other colors are empty . I dont want to print with color and only Black ink needed. black ink is full but still calling out needs ink fill

The Officejet 8500 has separate ink supplies and printheads.  When printing (even in black only) the color portions of the printhead are waving around in the air and would dry out and clog if no color ink was available.  For this printer you will need to replace the color ink to allow printing.
HP and other printer manufacturers have different printer technologies for different needs.  For inkjet printers:
Some have printheads built into the ink cartridges.  These printers can typically print with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black (but not both) cartridges removed. The Officejet 8040a is an example.
Other printers have separate ink supplies and replaceable printheads.  An example would be the Officejet 8500 printer.  The printhead in these printers can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors out.  Some of these printers will allow printing with a color out, other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or more colors the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send the printer for service.
Other printers have permanent printheads.  To run these without some ink in all the colors would risk causing damage to the printhead due to clogs, air ingested in the printhead or burned out printhead firing resistors. The Officejet 6700 is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed printheads this could require service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.
The document here describes how ink is used.  While the document is written for HP Inkjet printers the same principles apply to inkjet printers from other manufacturers.
If you never print in color a laser printer would likely be a better choice.  If you occasionally print color but mostly black an IPH printer like those in the first category above may be a good choice.

  • Black ink not working after my computer did an update (2 new cartridges put in)

Black ink stopped working suddenly.  Tried 2 new cartridges and they did not work.  Since the day before their was an automatic 'updates' on my computer I thought it was that, but making copies doesn't work either.  I already cleaned the print heads with still not even a hint of black ink coming out.
Usually, when the ink gets low it will be light at first or streaky . . . not just none at all.  Could the update been a problem?

The update is likely not related.  I would suggest going through the troubleshooting steps in the document here.   Be sure especially to check the vents as shown in solution six.  If the steps there do not resolve the issue soaking the printhead as shown in the post here may help.

  • 5520 Windows7 - Black ink not printing AGAIN!

This is the 2nd HP home printer that this has happened too.  It works fine until the ink gets low.  Buy new ink.  All colors and black.  Black does not print.  VERY FRUSTRATED because I am trying to print off info for my daughters college applications, etc.  The first printer that I had did this very same thing.  DIfferent model.  I finally spoke with someone on the phone and then sent this one as a replacement.  I have tried all the online trouble shooting steps with no results.  I can't beleive these printers do this.  Must be some type of mfg defect after they print for a while.  I would really appreciate an HP person to call me on my cell: [Edited for Personal Information] so  I can get this going.  I can't buy another printer at this time.  Of course it is just out of warrenty.  Assistance is needed please. Thank you for your help and I can only help I get the type of service I received last time this happened.  That is what kept me with HP.

There a few things to check.  I would suggest going through the troubleshooting steps in the document here, be sure to check the vents as shown in solution three..
