760GM-E51 (FX)  MS-7596 VER:1.2
Amd FX 6100
Kingston 2x4gb 1333mhz
Barracuda seagate 500gb sata.
Coolermaster GX 650Watt
after reading about others problem i found a sticker that says (A7596 AWS300)
Should this set work together?  asked the store when i orderd and they told me it should.
When i try to boot it just wont start up the screen...i hear that dvd hard disk and cpu fan workes..it even lights up 4blue leds ...i have totaly ran out of ideas...
Is it possible to flash bios in this mode?
I have an phenom II X4 850 in another pc might be an idea to try if it workes..to se if bios are in right version.
Bought to my 10year old kid to christmas and he really locked forward to it.

Solution was my older Phenom cpu...started and could update bios...
Sucks big time anyway that they sell stuff that don fit untill an update wich is impossible if you dont have any old stuf at home...
Gonna do some complaining..
How do you figure it's MSI's fault when the CPU is newer than the BIOS that came from the factory? That's what some of the BIOS updates are for after all.

  • 760gm-e51 + and fx-4100 = blank screen no bios

Newegg had a combo deal with the fx 4100 and the msi 760gm-e51 (not the fx the box does not say fx after e51) .... Everything comes on, fan works but no keyboard lights flash or anything on screen upon powering on..
Is the board DOA? I mean even with an fx processor shouldn't I still be getting to POST?
I bought 2 of each but I don't want to open the others as I'm thinking of returning and buying a newer board. This is for client so I need any help as fast as possible please.
Power supply is antec earth watts 440 watts active PFC, I have the CPU power cable plugged in.. I've swapped the power supplies and no difference. All lights come on, HDD, DVD rom ejects, all four on board CPU LEDs light up ( unless I unplug the CPU power cable then only one led ) ... The board has VGA, dvi and hdmi but I'm using only VGA... Confused..
    Thanks everyone,
    Drew

Are you sure there is no sticker with the number on it? If BIOS 1.x no FX support, if BIOS 3.x yes FX support. I'm pretty sure only the (FX) version of MB supports FX CPU.
My suggestion would be to return them with an explanation the FX 4100 CPU is not supported on the non (FX) version of the MB. They sold a combo deal that didn't have a chance or working together right from the beginning.
SL500, your problem has nothing to do with this topic. It might be a similar problem but is a different MB with a Rana CPU and has nothing to do with FX CPU.
Do not hijack other peoples topics with your own problem.

  • 760gm-e51 (fx)

I have been reading for hours and haven't seen one issue close to mine,I am almost 100% certain I received a bad board but before I ship it back I want some input from ya'll please, first system specs,
    msi 760gm-e51(fx)
    AMD 8120 8 core cpu
    Kingston hyper-X 4x4gb
    cooler master 600w
    WD Black,caviar I think it's called 1tb
Pny GT 630 2gb vid card
    stock cpu heat sink/fan
installed in case is a 120intake 90 intake and a 90 rear exhaust and a 120 side exhaust
hopefully one day will be installing win 7 ultimate x64
Ok so being as this is by far my first build I have tried everything that I know, thus I come to you
First things first assembled everything into case, made sure to wear grounding bracelet plug in all appropriate cables turn the system on it doesn't do anything, case fans and cpu fan are turning but no monitor signal, hmmm odd, shut system down check connectors etc etc etc again, turn system on get a loading screen it reads "GeForce GT 630 powered by nVIDIA,next line reads AMD 8120 3.1ghz,alright then I get a flash of a pretty mother board with some msi logo, next I get a screen that says "No bootable devices found please press any key to enter boot menu" ok so I press enter the next message is "No bootabe devices found. Restarting" I don't have a dvd player yet(it hasn't arrived)so I made a flash drive bootable of windows 7,my other computer recognizes it just fine. ok so it restarts same error message about a dozen times,so I go grab the hard drive out of my functioning computer and plug it in and turn on the system,no bios options screen no cmos options buttons and I get the same error,it restarts but this time it ends up loading a windows xp partition off of this old hard drive,ok so that is at the windows loading screen, when my monitor flashed red and the computer shutoff,so it restarts and I get the previous message of no bootable devices found, hmmm so I restart and I get a new screen says "OC failed press f2 to enter bios options" sweet so I hit F2 and it freezes on the loading screen of that for 35 minutes and nothing so I power off again, this time I power back on and nothing happens, fans spin in case and cpu but blank screen, did this a few dozen times the last few days and I get one of those three screens everytime, never in my last 20 years of building computers have I ever not even been able to access bios, please I am begging everyone for help

Is there a green sticker on the bios chip? If not, what is the date code in the s/n of the mobo? The release date of the bios that supports that cpu is  2011-11-14, so it probably isn't that, but a good place to start.
    FX-Series Zambezi FD8120FRW8KGU FX-8120 200 3.10 8M 8M B2 125 7596v32.zip
Next, remove all but one stick of ram and do a full cmos clear and see if the problem goes away. Try other sticks individually if it does, then try in dual channel etc.
Also, that board has onboard vga i believe, remove the discrete card and see if the issue goes away.
    Let us know the results.
Edit: @Bern beat me by a tick

  • 760gm-e51 not posting

    Hi.
    I have the following:
    MSI 760gm-e51,
    AMD Athlon II X4-640 processor
    2x4Gb Mushkin DDR3 SDRAM.
I power on the machine and get a single beep, four blue lights on the mother board, the "MSI 760gm-e51" screen flashes for a half-second and then a black screen with a flashing cursor.  No sign of a POST.
If I hit 'Delete' I can get to the BIOS.  BIOS shows that CPU and RAM are recognized:
BIOS -> Standard CMOS... -> System Information:
"AMD Athlon II X4 64o Processor
    CPUID/MicroCode 0100F53h/010000C8h
    CPU Frequency 3.00GHz (200x15)
    BIOS Version V1.10 02282011
Physical Memory 4096MB  (* as I write this it says 4096 because I have tried removing sticks, etc and only put one stick back in the machine)
    Cache Size 2048Mb
removed the graphics card that I was trying to use and am now using onboard graphics
What do I need to do to get this to POST?  What more information can I provide to help?
    Thanks.
    D

    Brilliant!  I feel so stupid.
I had the boot order reversed (1) HDD, (2) DVD.  The HDD had an old install of Ubuntu and so I guess the boot saw that, tried it, failed and I got my flashing cursor.
Corrected the boot order and tried it with a Fedora-15 .iso and that booted in moments.
I love it when things work out like that.
    Thanks for the response.

  • New Install - startx results in blank screen with mouse cursor

I installed Arch on my desktop last week with no issues, so I wanted to install it on an old THinkpad R31. Everything with the installation went smooth, but when I try to 'startx' all I get is a blank screen with a mouse cursor that I can move around. I've installed xorg-xinit, xorg-twm, xorg-xclock, and xterm.
I'm not getting any significant errors in the logs, or even the terminal I issue 'startx' in.
I'm not sure what the problem could be...
Here is my output from 'startx'

To run twm, you need to install xorg-twm from [extra] (I am not sure if it installs by default). Do you have xterm installed?
According to his first post he has both xorg-twm and xterm installed.
    I do indeed.
I went ahead and installed LXDE anyways, just to see what would happen. Exact same thing, it looks like everything is about to load but only the mouse cursor shows up. My Xorg.0.log is the same, so I won't post it again.
I do get an error in the console about the openbox menu.xml file missing but I doubt that's related.

  • Apple Cinema 23" on a PC? can't get it to work just has a blank screen?

Sorry this may have been asked a million times but i have a 23" cinema HD display and i'm try to connect it to a laptop PC with the convertor to vga and no matter what i try it has a blank screen with the white power light. I have tried to change the res to the lowest it doesn't work what am i doing wrong please help!!

You can't use a simple VGA to DVI adapter, since VGA doesn't have the digital video signals needed by Apple displays. You need a VGA to DVI converter, such as

  • Tried installing Windows Vista, cancelled install and now it won't boot from the OEM Vista DVD, all i get is BOOTMGR is missing error... Ctrl Alt Del to restart and when i turn the computer on i get a blank screen and pressing C is not working to boot....

    Topic says it all...
My friend started a installation of Windows Vista, but pulled out after deleting all partitions...
So now i power it on, get a blank screen (seems a bit gray because of backlighting, should show the apple logo right?)...
Then after like 15-20sec it will throw out a:
    BOOTMGR is missing
    Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
I have a OEM Windows Vista DVD in the drive, and i know... Windows 7 is better... but i'm not that fond of stealing software from Microsoft and i have 10 licenses for Vista...
I have tried pressing C while booting up but it doesn't work...
Does anyone here have a magic soloution for me, and no i will not install MacOS on it !!!

Deleting Boot Camp partitions the conventional way will not work . You must use the Boot Camp Assistant to remove a Boot Camp partition. Here is a link to the guide.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Boot_Camp_Install-Setup_10.6.pdf
The way to restart is to hold down the option/alt key during startup* and then selecting the Mac OS. If you have a valid Boot Camp install of Windows it would show up during this type of start up.
    * hold down immediately after pressing the power button and until the OS choice screen appears.
    To summarize.
1 Use the above method to boot into Mac OS.
2 Download the instructions and read them.
3 Use Boot Camp Assistant to remove the partition.
4 Pick your friends more carefully.

  • When I click on picture in Photo Gallery...just blank screen...no picture

Hi. I have been doing well with iPhoto until I tried to migrate to Aperture. When I migrated to Aperture, I deleted the iPhoto library in Aperture as I read in the tutorial.
Clearly, I did something wrong. Well, I uninstalled Aperture and will be using that at another time, but for now here is my dilemma.
Since I migrated photos to Aperture, consolidated them with iPhoto and then deleted...
now I open my iPhoto and double click on a photo to edit or view...and nothing appears. Just blank screen. The small pics are at the top but it doesn't open to a larger picture. Where are my photos! Help!
    Image: !http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150106481305832&set=a.101501064812108 32.307068.555810831!

The previews you refer to are the thumbnails in the iPhoto Library - iPhoto creates them when you import a photo.
Aperture has the ability to trash Referenced Files. If you imported the files to Aperture as Referenced and then trashed them from Aperture, are you sure you didn't also tell it to trash the Referenced Files. This would produce exactly the scenario that you describe.

YouTube will not work on safari for me on the ipad. Is there anyway to fix this? I can go anywhere else on the internet fine and it works on google chrome, but on safari it shows a blank screen with the bar on top after it loads, if it's even loading at all.
I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.

You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

Did you configure the web server as the last part of foundation services? You could always get a patch for IE support but the blank screen always appears if the services wasn't started up correctly or if the web server wasn't configured lastly after any configuration change.
About the Weblogic here's where you can get more info about your error message: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e14397/LogMgmt.html
    "BEA-170011

    Description
The LogBroadCaster on the managed server could not find a reference to the DomainLogHandler on the admin server. Messages from this server will not be logged in the domain log.
    Cause
The managed server might not be able to reach the admin server. One of the possible causes could be due to the admin server being shutdown.
    Action
To fix this problem, inspect the exception stack trace, correct the problem. If the admin server is shutdown, restart it to resume normal log broadcasting to the domain."

I connected an external monitor to my MacBook Pro, but it doesn't open any programs. It Just sits there with a blank screen.  How do I get it to open programs and act like a monitor?

    Dear Jean:
It sounds like you are trying to get your external monitor to act as the primary viewing screen. For example it would have your Doc, Icons, Etc. In order to make the external monitor the primary screen you have to:
    Open System Preferences.
    Choose the Displays Icon
There will be several tabs to choose from pick Arrangement
Drag the toolbar to desired display
Let me know if this helps at all!

If there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.
