7610 Enhancement settings?

First off, where is the search button? I hate making threads when something is probably already covered... anyways:
2 days ago, my phone had its Enhancement settings activated. It has the little head phone icon on the top right. I didn't turn it on or anything, nor do i even have head phones connected. The problem with this is, the phone no longer produces sound (other than ringing) when making or answering a call. It works fine with the head phones.
Other times the phone will have a messege come up and say "Enhancement not supported" and everything would be fine again.
It goes back and forth between the two modes and there dosn't seem to be an option to turn Enhancement off, only change what type of enhancement.
can anyone assist me with this problem?

I had the same problem with a feature. It showed share instead of update and I knew there was an update out there.
I turned my phone all the way off, let it sit for a minute of so and turned it back on. The update then showed up with the updater.

Headset option missing in Enhancement settings of ...

Batch Enhancing for a group of photos

Hi,
I just took over 100 photos that all need to be enhanced similarly. I was going to use the auto-enhance feature on each one. Is there a way to use this feature on a group of photos other than going through each one individually?

No. Lift & Stamp of "Exposure→Default Adjustment" from a Version which has been auto-adjusted using the Exposure brick will cause the stamped Version to be auto-adjusted. This is easily tested (auto-adjust, lift, select another Version, stamp, compare the values in the Exposure brick to make sure the stamp is relative not absolute, auto-adjust the stamped Version and see if the Exposure values are changed).
I do not want to auto-enhance on import becasue I want the master RAW files to remain intact so that I can use them for detailed editing in photoshop, but when I am doing samples I want to just use a quick edited version like the auto enhance.
Raw is raw. It is not an image format, it is a data format. What you see in Aperture is an image format file which Aperture creates from your raw files. You should test this as well: import two images (helpful if they are poorly exposed) and auto-enhance them as part of the import. Select them after import and "reset all adjustments". Tell us what you find out.
I am 98% certain that the processing you tell Aperture to do on import is done as a Version of the raw file.

How do you toggle a microphone directly between enhanced and non-enhanced?

Apparently mixing calls between Microphone.getMicrophone() and Microphone.getEnhancedMicrophone() on the same device doesn't work very well. Take the following code:

You will be able to hear yourself speak at first, but as soon as you click the app, you will no longer be able to hear your voice. I have also seen this sort of thing in other scenarios.
To make a long story short, if you call getEnhancedMicrophone() for one device, then try to call getMicrophone() for that same device, the device will stop providing any audio input. The same is true vice versa. However if you call getEnhancedMicrophone() for one device, then getMicrophone() for a different device, then come back to the first and call getMicrophone() for it, the device will work just fine.
Why? Is there any way to just toggle between enhanced and non-enhanced settings for the same device, without reaching out to an unrelated device? Thanks!

As you can see there, MicrophoneEnhancedMode.OFF disables enhanced mode. You would set your Microphone references .mode property to equal that to disable enhanced, or use one of the other relevant options to enable it. Thus, you should always use enhanced so you can toggle it.

E72 how to disable the microphone in the headset?

When I listen to the FM radio using the standard headset the microphone is active. Its really annoying cause everytime the microphone bumps against me it makes a noise. I think I need to set the headset to headphone mode or something like that but I can't figure it out. Can anybody help me?

There is not such settings which you could "set the headset to headphone mode", The phone will automatically detect whether the connected enhancement is headphone, headset or wireless car kit.
There is only one setting available, where you can choose an active profile for each enhancements: (Tools>General>Enhancement settings)

P45 Platinum will not boot Server 2008 with 2x2GB...

I was working through the night last night to get my new rig built and installed with the new SP2 of Server 2008 and was having problems that seem to point to the mobo not liking the optimized settings for my 2x2GB. Hopefully my signature has all the system specs necessary - but do ask if I've left anything out.
What I did:
- Built system with minimal HW:
CPU & cooler, PSU, 2x2GB (slots 1 & 3), GeForce 8600, 2x250GB SATA2 HDs (ports 7 & 8 for JMicron) , 1xSATA2 DVD-RW
- Got POST and configured BIOS:
Load optimized defaults, reset time.
- Added Rest of HW, got POST and configured RAID:
- Integrated Peripherals - RAID Mode: RAID
- Integrated Peripherals - On-Chip ATA Devices - RAID Mode: IDE
- Save & Exit
- CTRL-J: Built 2x250GB JMicron RAID
- Boot to Server 2008 install DVD
- Loaded RAID driver and installed to RAID
- Installation continued (at a wonderfully fast pace), until it hung about 90% through
- Tried re-installing several times, trying things like reconfiguring RAID, using different drivers, etc.
- Then I removed the 2nd RAM in DIMM 3, and re-install completed without a hitch.
- Booted from RAID, configured Server 2008.
- Installed drivers for Intel P45 Chipset, GeForce 8600, Ethernet, and Audio
- Retried having 2 x 2GB in DIMM 1 & 3, and reboot hung during Server 2008 loading bar
- Tried DIMM in 2 & 4 with same results. Again, system POSTs with no problem, seeing all 4GB. But OS hangs on load.
- Ran MemTest on each RAM separately, with no problems after an hour each.
- Put the 1 RAM back in DIMM 1 and used LiveUpdate to successfully Flash BIOS from v1.2 to v1.6
- Reconfigured BIOS (optimized defaults and JMicron RAID)
- Rebooted to Server 2008 successfully with only 1 RAM in DIMM 1
- Tried DIMM in 1 & 3 and 2 & 4, and again hung on OS load.
- With only 1 RAM installed, the OS flies. I did lots of application and utility experimentation to ensure all was functional and stable. Even Defraged the RAID, so I'm pretty sure no HDD problem.
Based on all the forum posts I've read, I'm not sure about why it POSTS but doesn't load the OS, but I bet it has something to do with the mobo being unstable with the default settings for this RAM. Seems too bad as I tried to pick a decent RAM for future OC potential.
Out of fairness, I should point out that I have not yet tried blowing away the OS and reinstalling with my only other option - XP Pro SP3 - and seeing how that fairs. My guess is that it too will be unstable.
Fortunately, I'm still having fun tinkering - so no real frustration to speak of. But any advice on what to do next would be much appreciated...

Finally, in response to RemusM's request, here's the CPU-Z info for Memory, SPD and CPU using the Optimized Default BIOS settings and 1x2GB in DIMM 1:
Then, I spent a late night last night browsing the forums and searching the web. I found a dude with the same mobo, memory and an E8400. He was having similar problems and listed some recommended BIOS Cell settings. I put in my 2x2GB, removed the HW OC FSB jumpers on the mobo and entered the following settings into BIOS Cell and gave it a try:
Multi-Step OC Booster: Mode1
DOT Control: Disabled
Intel EIST: Enabled
Intel C-STATE Tech: Disabled
Adjust CPU FSB Freq: 400
Advancd DRAM Config: (all Auto)
Enhance Settings: Auto
NB Drive Configure: Auto
FSB/DRAM Ratio: 1:1.00 (1333:667)
Clock Gen Tuner: (all Auto)
Adj PCI Freq: Default
Auto Disable DRAM/PCI Freq: Enabled
CPU Voltage - ICH Voltage: (all Auto)
Spread Spectrum: Disabled
Not only did now my system now boot successfully into the OS for the first time with 2x2GB installed, but it seemed stable through my OS config and application installs. What's more, for the cost of taking the DRAM down to 800MHz, I now had the CPU at 3.8GHz!

- I need to further test stability by downloading and running some decent benchmarks of some type
- I'd love to get some advice on how I could further tune the above settings for increased stability and even better performance, as the memory and CPU seem capable of more if the mobo is...

What monitor looks most like an Apple monitor?

As a photographer I do most of my editing with Aperture on a 24" IMac. I recently purchased a Mac Mini along with a 22" LED HDTV Samsung monitor for my studio assistant to use. No matter how we adjust it, the colors and saturation are frightening. I can't trust the images at all. Right now I can't afford a $900 Apple monitor. Any suggestions anyone on another monitor choice for photography?

Samsung monitoers typically have all manner auto and enhance
settings. Are you sure all of them have been disabled? Dynamic
Contrast is one that really fouls the works as it adjusts contrast
based on the content to to obtain a contrast ratio.
For serious and accurate photographic work, there really is no
substitute for a high quality monitor, especially if you precise
color matching for various outputs is required. If this is your
case, expect to spend $600 to $900 for such a monitor.
You should check photography sites to see which monitors
are most preferred by serious photographers and go from there.
Typical mainstream monitors found in big box stores simply
do not have sufficient dynamic range or fixed contrast ratio
for serious work, or do tricks like Samsung's Dynamic Contrast
to get the "wow" factor.

Sending Photos from Lightroom to Photoshop

Hey guys, when I send photos from Lightroom 5 to Photoshop (CS6), make changes and return to Lightroom, I will see a new frame with the changes I have just made. However, I notice that I lose my original enhancement settings from Lightroom. In other words, the enhancements on the photo are still there, but the sliders from the right hand tool bar have all been reset. Basically all the changes have been 'baked in' to the photo, so I can no longer make modify/delete the enhancements I originally made. This is particularly important when working with brushes.
Is there anything I can do to preserve these modifiers as I go back and forth between Lightroom and Photoshop?

But with other image types, including those previously externally edited from LR, you can also "Edit original" and "Edit a copy" - these options retain whatever LR adjustments are active, avoid baking those in to the external edit, and re-apply them once again, to the saved result of the external edit.

N96 TV-out

The TV-out option of my N96 produces a black and white feature on the TV. It shows beautifully on my mobile handset but on the TV screen, its in black and white.

Your phone is set to output NTSC video and the TV is PAL, or vice versa. The settings for this are in "enhancement settings" for the TV cable.
Help I'm trapped in a sig factory.

I am curious to know if the hard disk has priority on playback, for example if I have Itunes open on my mac
1: Using remote to control ATV will it play from the hard drive on the ATV or the Mac assuming the same music file is on both.
2: When streaming from Mac to ATV but the same music is on the ATV HDD will it stream from the Mac or play direct from the ATV HDD
To put into context I am wanting to play music burned at "apple lossless" direct from the optical out into a naim supernait so as to achieve the best sound quality.

As Winstons says, content on AppleTV 1 plays from it's local drive, other content streams from iTunes.
While in theory it should not matter which may you do it, in practice it probably will.
Personally I suggest you try to A/B both options - right click on a track from a lossless album and Show in Finder - copt the file to somewhere else. Use Get Info i iTunes to change the album/artist name slughtly then reimport the identical copy but only sync one version to AppleTV.
Note:
AppleTv is limited to 16bit 44.1 kHz output (AppleTV 2 buggers around and chyanges things to 16 bit 48 kHZ) over optical for stereo audio even if lossless files are higher resolution.
Ensure Sound Check is off in AppleTV settings.
When streaming content not synced to AppleTV you in tehory get the same bitstream as if it were stored on AppleTV. Of course you then get into hypotheticals about whether or not the AppleTv hard drive working more or network factors might cause subtle timing issues or introduce some kind of jitter.
If you use airplay/Airtunes to push the music to AppleTV then any volume/equalizer/'enhancement' settings will be applied to the stream which will do nothing to enhance the original source bitstream. Hence Airplay/Airtunes output can sound differerent.
Frankly, I've always found AppleTV 1 a pretty cost effective digital audio player to hook up to the hi-fi. I went to a pre-release demo of an HDX a few years ago, and thought I could live with the AppleTV which gave pretty good performance for 5% of the cost! I've got fairly old stuff - Nac 72 fed via a Yamaha DSP decoding an AppleTV, outputting to a pair of SBLs (sometimes active/sometimes passive powered by 250s).

Using a studio microphone with skype

Hey! So i've recently bought a Samson Meteor USB Studio microphone for recording and such. It sounds flawless in programs like audacity. I tried to use it in skype while playing some video games with friends and the sound quality dropped so much, even my $50 gaming headset's mic sounds better. Anyone know why that is? Is a microphone like this not meant to be used with VOIP programs? My friends complain that they can barely hear me or that i sound depressed lmao, and keep making fun of how bad the quality is. I'd rather use my new studio mic, not my gaming headsets mic though, any thoughts? Thanks!

I don't know I've seen plenty of headsets more expensive than that Mic. One thing I've learned with Skype is the more bells and whistles a device has, the more problematic it can be with Skype. I also would suggest initially not doing other things when testing out the mic to narrow down if the issue is mic settings, Internet or USB bandwidth related. If the USB mic has any hardware modes or virtual software modes/enhanced settings (EQ, Noise cancellation, etc.), I would suggest disabling them as they can distort or limit audio levels in Skype when other apps are seemingly unaffected. If you are connecting the device through a hub, try directly to a USB port on your computer.

Differences between 7 and 3.x

I am looking for a whitepaper/SAP documentation that talks about differences between BI 7.0 and BI 3.x especially Bex reporting. I searched through forums several times but I was not able to answer my question. I found some helpful links but it is not giving me what I need. Here are some of the documents I found. Earphones not getting detected

Hi,
I'm using nokia 6233. My ear phones are not getting detected. When i checked the enhancement settings the headset and also data cable options are not present.
Can some one please tell me what exactly can be the problem?

if this only started occurring recently, which i presume what is happening here, then it may be due to a firmware problem. my advice would be to check if there is a newer firmware version available on NSU for your phone. if there is, upgrade to this, then restore factory settings after having performing the upgrade. if no upgrade available, then try restoring the phone to factory settings to see if this rectifies the problem. if this doesn't, then try using NSU to re-install the firmware version you are currently using.
remember to backup all of your data before performing any of the above. let us know how it goes.
