770-g45 voltage and tems

Posting in regards to the voltage and temp at a sensor on my motherboard. AOD & MSI OC utilites read 120 v at voltage sensor 2 and 128c at temp sensor 2, processor runs between 21(idle) and 27(load). could be graphics (5850) but the temp is somewhere between 32c and 48c according to CCC. anyone run into something like this?

"anyone run into something like this?"
Yes, +500 times, and the answer is almost always what brozly says.

    L.S.
Just recently bought me a new system, based on the 770-g45, phenom II x2 555 black edition and 2x 1Gig Kingston Hyper X DDR3 @ 1800. The bastard won`t boot. It keeps telling me that the cmos settings are wrong and jumps to a black screen with a blinking underscore. It does still respond to a cntrl+alt+delete, so it didnt freeze.. And the bios is actually telling me the proc is a phenom II x4 B55 instead of what the actual package tells me..and what i supposed to have ordered.
Have tried pretty much everything i can come up with. Already bought a Transcend DDR3 2gig 1333 module for testing purposes. MAinly tried setting the latency timers and voltage control. Rather reluctant though to increase ram voltage to over 1.9V. It just keep throwing me the same black screen.
By the way, i did see, while building, that the mainboard had a little bend at the side of the com port, didnt look that severe at first...
    Anybody?
edit: already flashed the bios to the V10.5
    Thanks,
    Dennis

Hi,my friend bouth 770-G45 from a local dealer store, and he has a problem with it.
    The problems acts like this:
Every time when the power cable is unpluged from the PSU,the date/hour resets to the default,i tryed to resolve it with an bios update, but it`s unsuccessfull to resolv the problem.
    Someone can sugest something else?
PS. I tried to replace the MB BIOS battery, still no positive result.

    Hy,thanks for the quick reply...
    So,the jumper is set in the correct position,i`m sure;
    The new battery is good,tested on my PC;
There are no unwanted stands near the MB.
I will take a better look today, when i will go to study it very closely, every details...
The MB wassen`t a cheap one,he bouth it about one year ago,it was mounted by the shop, because he bouth a new PC,from them,a custom made one.So i will go and see. Thanks again for the quick reply.

  • 770-G45 Crossfire? (x16/x4)

When shopping for motherboards I picked the 770-G45 due to all the positive reviews on newegg and crossfire support. I'm very happy with this motherboard, however I should have done more reading and overlooked this :

    PCI-Ex16     2
    PCI-E Gen    Gen2 (1x16, 1x4)
Now that I'm planning on upgrading to a 1920x1080 monitor a 2nd graphics card (ATI 5770) would really help but I'm worried about the x4 operation. I'm a bit confused as to whether this will cause it to perform worse than 1 card in x16 or just not as fast as (2)16x. Most of the info I found through google seemed to deal with PCI-e 1.0. Any help or opinions would be appreciated.

Wouldn't think you need more than one 5770, but that is up to you and your gaming of course.
The performance of a single 5770 is great at 1024x768 but really struggles at 1680x1050 - 1920x1080. Now with crossfire x16 x4 it actually runs worse @ 1024x768 all the way up to 2048x1536..

  • 770 g45 random freezes

I get freezing in both Linux and Windows. I've tried another PSU so it isn't the psu, and Memtest runs without issue (for 11 hours once). Prime95 has never errored in blend, large ffts fixed, or small ffts. And the freezing doesn't appear to be related to load/heat, and it isn't only related to Windows. Any ideas what the cause might be?

    MSI 770 G45
    Phenom II 925
    Kingston HyperX DDR3 1333

I've installed Ubuntu 10.10 and got the same result--random freezes. If I didn't get it in Linux a reinstall of Windows would have been my first thought, but Windows is already a fresh install as it is so I don't think It would make any difference. I really wish I could firgure out how to reproduce the error, but it happens so seldom, and sometimes 2 or 3 times in a row, that I'm at a loss. I'm going to RMA tomorrow, unless anyone has some insight into this.

  • 770-G45 wont start after ShutDown

Recently installed MSI 770-G45, problem starts when i regulary shutdown comp. from WinXP or Win7 64-bit.Computer wont start after that, like ther is no power, fans dont spin, no bips, NOTHING. I got to unplug power cord and plugg it again into psu, after that it starts normaly.
Strange thing is that computer starts normally when i manualy shutdown system(holding the power button on the case). There is no exception, starts perfectly evry time after manual shutdown, no need to unplugg powercord.
    Rest of my components> Phenom II X2 555BE, Kingston 2GB 1333mhz, Sapphire 5770, HDD WD 250gb,PSU Corsair TX 650w.
Tried to change power cord, tried other PSU, other case (tought its maybe power button but no), changed mobo battery, installed several OS versions (XP, Win7) and still dont have solution.
    MS 7599 ver. 2.0
    Bios version 10.2
MoBo is new bought it 3 days ago.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!

First: It is important to clear CMOS after a BIOS update. Unplug power cable before the clearing, as there can be no power in the system
Second: Rebuild the system, but outside the case. Use only PSU, motherboard, processor, one stick of memory and graphics card. If it works better then, you may have a short, from a stand-off too many, or poorly isolated wire somewhere.
But I second it sounds like a motherboard problem. You'd better contact the one who sold it to you.
Oh, an oldie thing! You will need to install Windows again, with the new motherboard and all.

  • 770-G45 : no beep, no POST

    Hello there,
I've my computer since 3 years and today, I'd a bad idea: changing RAM. Since I did that (replacing 2x2G G.Skill Kit Extreme3 PC10600 Ripjaws CAS 9 with 4x4G G.Skill Kit Extreme3 PC10600 Ripjaws X CAS9), the PC is out.
The 4 leds are blue, all fans are running, the HD seems ok, but nothing happens. No start beep, my screen receive no signal, nothing.
I'd tried removing all RAM, I had the 3 beeps. I'd tried putting the old ones, same trouble than when I used the new. I've tried to reset the bios with the jumper, remove the battery, ... Nothing.
    Here's my config:
    MSI 770-G45
AMD PhenomTM II X4 955 Black Edition
    4x4GB G.Skill Kit Extreme3 PC10600 Ripjaws X CAS9
    Samsung Spinpoint F1 S-ATA - 750 GB - 32 MB
    Sapphire RadeonTM HD 5770 1GB
Any suggestion about the tests I can do ?
And since a few weeks, I noticed that sometimes, my computer didn't always start well, I sometimes have to reset it, it was stopping after the Bios display.

oh no you have ripjaws! they are well known for not being comparable on MSI boards as that model was primarily optimized for ASUS platforms and suffer incompatibility!
i suggest you put you old ram back in and do a full CMOS reset >>Clear CMOS Guide<< and return the ripjaws for a refund and get some Corsair RAM of a similar spec!

  • How to measure current and voltage and rpm with daq device

i am measuring current and voltage and am wondering should i use shunt resistors or current sensors hall effect sensors. i have a pci 6221 and a scc-68 breakout box. what specifications or size should the shunt resistor/current sensor be or should i use another device to measure the currrent and voltage. do i need any other safety device between the resistors, current sensors and the scc-68 breakout box when measuring the current and voltage. will the daq card pci 6221 pick up a signal from the resistor. what terminals should the wires from the resistors and current sensors be connected to in the scc-68. i am using a proximity switch to measure rpm of a motor. should the proximity switch be 2 or 3wire connection. should it have an analog or digital connection and is a power supply required to power the proximity switch and should it have an npn or pnp connection

    hello,
i was going to use a 20amp 50mv, or a 20amp 100mv current shunt and connect wires directly into the AI input terminals of the scc-68 from the current shunt would these be suitable. would current shunts such as these be suitable to use http://uk.farnell.com/elc/sh10020/shunt-sh10020-20a-100mv-1-class/dp/1319576 or http://uk.farnell.com/datel/3020-01098-0/shunt-50mv-20a/dp/1339338
is it ok to use either a current shunt or should a hall effect sensor be used  such as this http://ie.farnell.com/honeywell-s-c/csla2cd/sensor-hall-effect/dp/1082269 . which of them would be more accurate or are both of them fairly accurate.
when i am measuring voltage can i connect two resistors between the positive and negative of the wires going to the battery and connect two wires from either side of the resistor directly into the analog inputs of the scc-68 and measure the 12-15 volts directly would the pci6221 and scc-68 be able to measure the voltage drop across the resistor.
i wanted to measure rpm also does it matter whether the proximity switch has 2 or 3 wires and should it have an analog or digital/frequency output for cponnecting to the scc-68

  • I am trying to configure my SCXI-1540 card for excitation voltage and frequency using MAX - but it is not giving me that option when I click on the card and then properties, am I looking in the wrong place?

I am trying to configure my SCXI-1540 w/1315 card for excitation voltage and frequency using MAX - but it is not giving me that option when I click on the card and then properties, am I looking in the wrong place?
I have LabVIEW Express 7.0 Professional - SCXI-1000 Chassiss - along with SCXI-1112, and SCXI 1520/1314 - cable to the PCI-6052E is attached to the 1520 card.
MAX says it recognizes all the cards in the chassiss.

    Jeremy, Thanks for the reply.
I tried to set up the system as DAQmx.
I had MAX auto-detect the set-up - and it recognized all the cards - but did not select the 1315 accessory on the 1540 card - I had to do that manually - but in the configuration section I would select the accessory and it would deselect itself. I had to get out of the set-up and then right click on the 1540 card and click on the "Accessories" tab and select the 1315 terminal block that way.
It didn't seem right that the system should behave that way, but I pressed onward.
I then tried to create a new DAQmx Task
When I create new DAQmx task and then click on Analog Input no "Position" Tab appears for me to select, all I get are:
    Analog>>Voltage
    Analog>>Temperature
    Ana
    log>>Strain
    Analog>>Current
    Analog>>Resistance
    Analog>>Frequency
    Analog>>Custom Voltage with Excitation
Do you think there might be something wrong with either my hardware or perhaps my configuration that is not allowing it to recognize the 1540/1315 in DAQmx?
I had included the system report of what programs I am using, etc. as attached file nireport.txt
After the DAQmx did not work I tried installing everything as Traditional DAQ and it did let me set-up the 1540 Card with Excitation Voltage and Frequency and gain - I then went in to the VI that I had built and tried to use the Express DAQ Assisant to read the channel that I am connected to on the 1315/1540 - when I try to use DAQ Assistant it gives me an error saying that "Device not available in NI-DAQmx. It is possible that the device is being use by traditional NI-DAQ"
Which I guess it is since both configurations are now set-up in MAX.
I would PREFER to use the DAQmx set-up, but I am confused as to WHY it won
    't come up with
    Analog input>>POSITION>>LVDT
When I try to create a new DAQmx task.
Thanks for the help so far! As you can probably tell I am new at this.

  • [BASIC question] what is the component I should use to fix an AC voltage and its current (in the same component)

I need urgently to know how use a component which allows me to fix an AC voltage and its current.
I can't use a resistance and an AC current in parallele for my application..
Thanks a lot you will be very helpful !

In general the way to fix both voltage and current requires a source and an impedance, but you say you do not want that solution.
Please tell us exactly what your application is and why a current source in parallel with a resistance is unacceptable.

  • Acquiring multiple voltage and current sine waveforms, and log them along with the respective time stamp in a file."

"I am doing a data acquisition project using a 16 channel N.I. series 6020E card where I want to capture respective current and voltage sinusoidal signals. I am planning on capturing four pairs of matching current and voltage signals. I planned on taking one reading across the channels every fifteen minutes. This reading will need to be 60 data points per period or 3600 readings per second per channel in order for me to recreate the sine signal to determine the phase angle difference between the voltage and current. I was able to get one channel to capture a signal but could not get more than one working at a time. I am also trying to sycronize the data collection so all samples are with respect to each other. Thanks for any help."

    "Hi Cappy,
Could you post this question to the Hardware > Counter/Timer or Hardware > Multifunction I/O forums? I think you will get more responses there. Here is a link.
The hardware is usually a better differentiation since software can support such a huge range of functionality.
The data rates you are talking about sound reasonable. Are you using the USB or the AT interface?
One other thing to be aware of is that the samples taken will not be simultaneous due to the multiplexed nature of the MIO board measurements. However if you know the channel clock rate(output from one of the VI's), then you can calculate the time difference between each measurement and correct your phase measurements by that amount.
If you have more questions, please post this to the other forum and copy all of our discussion to let everyone know what we have talked about already.

I am using the USB connection. If anyone can help with or has a similar VI for this, it owuld be appreciated so I can work on the larger aspect of the total project.

The easiest VI to use for this acquisition is AI Acquire Waveforms in the data acquisition palette in LabVIEW. This VI allows you to perform a finite acquisition from multiple channels on your DAQ board. As John mentioned the acquisition from individual channels will not be truly simultaneous. There will be a slight time shift from one channel to the next on the order of the maximum acquisition speed of the card, 100kHz or 10 microseconds in your case. By accounting for this 10 microsecond delay between consecutive channels you can properly calculate the phase shift between voltage and current.
