770 Internet Tablet

Is there any way to do a hard reset on this device?

My Brain Hurts!!!!!

Got my new July 2006 shipped 770 from compusa, came with IT2006OS. Out of the box it would not power up until i attached power supply.
I had an OS problem so had to reinstall the full 64mb of IT2006OS.
Now I have this power on problem, reported in this thread. I have to jump start the 770 with the power supply in the morning, and not power off the 770, for fear of not being able to restart, if i have no AC power.
Sometimes it will restart, soon after powering off. However after a longer period, it needs the jump start.
It's almost as if there is some type of capacitor that needs a top up, or there's another switch that gets triggered by the power supply.
I'm in Australia, and cannot return to supplier easily.
The 770 is a wonderful concept,so I am happy to use it with this limitation for now.
I hope a flash can fix this.

Can a Nokia 770 Internet Tablet link with a Sony Ericson K750i as a Modem?

Did a little more digging and found that quite few people have problems getting this phone to do dialup with anything other than a laptop and SEs own software.
reason is that SE use some funny command structure, instead of *99# they use *99***1#
The number 1 there is important, it is the internet profile to use for the dialup, there will probably be several settings in
    Menu->Settings->Connectivity-> Internet Settings -> Internet Profiles ->
In the phone, and so the number will need to match the one that is configured for Internet access (and not Wap or MMS)
Also the N770 will need to be configured to send *99***x# (change the x to the number of the connection). I have never used the 770, but looking at the user guide you need to go to
Control panel > Control panel > Tools > Mobile operator setup wizard
Create a connection as described on page 27 of the user guide, the settings will be network operator dependent, but the key thing will be to configure the Dial-Up number to be *99***x#

  • Java on 770 Internet Tablet

I just received a Nokia 770 and when I go to certain websites (i.e. Pogo.com) it will tell me that Java is not installed on my system and will not open a window to access the games.
How do I get Java installed on my 770 or can I?
    Thank you.

There is no Java implementation for the 770 (without using a handheld PC, I don't know of any handheld devices with "full" Java - J2SE - support required by some web sites).

  • Placing a call through the internet tablet

I am thinking of purchasing the 770 internet tablet. I also have a nokia N70. When the two are connected via bluetooth will I be able to place a regular call (not internet) to a contact?

Not using the 770 (note, that it has been replaced by the newer N800, so consider getting that, instead).

  • Internet Tablet 770 and RS-MMC

    Hi
I m wondering if the 770 and OS 2006 will accept RS-MMC with larger memory that the 1 GB mentioned on the specs. RS-MMC currently shipped on the market are up to 8 GB (says Wikipedia).
I find the 770 internal memory quite low in comparizon with a few PDAs that can do the same Internet and multimedia player job...
..and if ever Apple launches a 30 or even 60 GB Ipod with wifi/Bluetooth capacity, a mininum 3,5 inch screen, and a browser, I don't give much of the competition.

At this moment the 770 with OS 2006 only supports a 1 GB RS-MMC DV card. There seems to be an unofficial patch that provides 2GB support. But you have to install this manually at the OS prompt level (linux), so this is only for techies (see maemo.org). I'm waiting for the offical support. At this moment (sept 2006) you can only buy up to 2 GB RS-MMC cards (maybe only Kingston). Wikipedia is incorrect.

  • Newbie needs best non-phone internet tablet

I'm on a quest for the "right" device for my needs which are primarily music and movie viewing but I want a good browsing experience with some texting. Every time I think I've found a great solution it turns out to be either 2 years old or so bleeding edge I can' get my hands on it for months. I'm here to ask about the N810 WiMax (or other) edition. It looks pretty darn good but it's already a dead item. Have I missed the current iteration of it? They can still be found. Would you buy one now given what else is out there?
I do not want iTouch or Zune (don't like that they are proprietary).
Found Creative Labs and liked their Vision Wide which has a huge screen but is as old or older than the N810. Their newest item XFi2 has a 3" screen which seems a bit small.
Also considering something from Archos. I was looking at their 5 v 7 and decided while the 7" was lovely it was too big. Then I noticed they JUST released a 5" tablet with Android. It looks pretty HOT... but it's so dang new I can't get one in time for an October 24th flight which is what prompted my wanting a tablet for movie viewing in flight.
I'm open to all input be it Nokia or other options. Thank you.

The iPhone works fine over cellular. You did mention a certificate - I am going to guess that this may be the issue.
If you open Safari on the iPhone and connect to your OWA, do you get a warning? When you viewed the cert in IE, is it self-signed? If so you need to get it on the iPhone. The easiest way is to set up gmail or something similar on iPhone and email it to yourself.
when it come in email your iPhone will immediately recognize it as a file that you can import it. Select it and import it, then you should be able to connect to your Outside Exchange server.
