785GM-P45 HDMI screen size problem
Happy New Year, folks!
I connected my 785GM-P45 board to an Asus 23.2" LCD monitor (native resolution: 1920x1080) via HDMI, set the resolution to 1920x1080, and was dismayed to find out that the display was not occupying the entire screen. There was a 1-inch black border all round the display.
As a test, I connected the Asus monitor to a Foxconn board via HDMI. Behold, the display nicely occupied the whole screen.
As a second test, I connected the monitor to the 785GM-P45 again, but this time via a VGA cable. The display occupied the whole screen. No annoying black borders.
So the problem seems to be in the HDMI output of the MSI board. Any suggestions and solutions would be most appreciated.
For those who may have a similar problem (main monitor, Acer 21.5" LED, worked fine, Sony 40" on HDMI could not get to fill the screen and will only output at max of 1280x1024 if main is set to native 1920x1080) this will fill the screen on a secondary monitor as well... Thanks Mark.

I have an iPad 1 and the resolution of my screen is bigger than the screen size. This means that the image is larger than fits on the screen. For instance the keyboard does not show all the keys, and the kindle dispay is too large and I can't read the whole page as it runs off the edges. How can I fix this?
You are most welcome

Screen size problem for schedule line bdc
Hi All,
I created a bdc for schedule line item maintainance of sales order thro' VA02,I did all coding on 20 inch color monitor in which the schedule line screen shows 18 lines using that i did recording for bdc.But when keyuser executes BDC on laptop it is not procceding.
Please help me out with solution which is applicable on all kind of screens
Regards
GauravWhen you use BDC, you may have issues with screen size because number of lines displayed in table controls (and step loops) may vary according to the user screen, when the BDC is recorded (depending on recorder screen size), and then executed in A or E mode depending on user's screen size. When it's N mode, a default screen size is used by SAP.
The only solution is then to both record and execute the BDC by activating the default/standard size checkbox (if you use CALL TRANSACTION: it's DEFSIZE field in CTU_PARAMS structure of the OPTIONS FROM keyword).
For more information, refer to the documentation and the [BDC wiki|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/BatchInput-+BDC] + separate FAQ -
IPod Touch/iPhone 4s in a BMW - Screen size problems while playing videos since iOS5
Hi,
I have an iPod Touch 4th generation 64GB that i use connected to my 2011 BMW M5 purchased with all multimedia and iPod/iPhone options available from factory.
The car lets me play music and video playlists from the iPod and the videos can be seen on the BMW iDrive screen, when i was in iOS4 everything worked perfectly, but then i updated to iOS5 and one problem arised and then updated to iOS6 and now to iOS6.1 but the problem still persists, basically the problem consists that sometimes video size and aspect ratio of videos displayed in the car display are wrong, and some times the same videos are displayed correctly. It is just random, sometimes is OK and sometimes it is wrong, but when it starts to display wrongly, all videos following are displayed wrongly.
After trying everything i discovered that while a video is playing with wrong size and aspect ratio, i can correct this behavior, sometimes manually unlocking the iPod and entering the "Music" app and exiting, and sometimes entering the iPod configuration and exiting, just entering and exiting, and sometimes doing both of them one after another. This is a temporary sollution because it is really disturbing to do this process while driving with the iPod inside the cradle in the armrest. I wish i could downgrade to iOS4.1 where i was before and everything worked perfectly, as there are no new features i care in iOS5 or 6.
I tried restoring the device in iTunes... 5-6 times in total since iOS5 release, tried using an iPhone 4s with iOS6 and the same problem happens, so obviously it is a bug present in latter iOS that it is not initializing correctly the screen when requested by external accessories.
you can see in this BMW forum other people with the same isue: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=602131
I can provide photos or testing if needed
Thanks and excuse my english. You say your turning it off does that mean you are holding in the sleep button and sliding the unit off or does it mean you are just locking the unit with the screen off?
If you have the Wifi enabled and only have the IPT in standby mode then this is why it's depleting the battery so quickly. Charge the unit till it's full with the little plug showing and then eject it and turn off wifi and leave the unit in standby overnight and see if the battery depletes at all.
I've noticed that Wifi really ***** the life out of the battery very quickly so give it a try and report back to us. -
ITunes 10 - Podcasts screen size problems
Does anyone else have this problem?
When I'm watching a podcast it always at fullscreen mode. I can't change the viewing size to 100% / 200% / half screen / full screen.
The option to change viewing size is greyed out.
Is it just me?Spent a couple hours on the phone with Support and it seems to be that an old temp podcast had a plist that may have been causing it. I followed his instructions and re-downloaded all my iTunes (over 200GB). It took over 4 hours but seems to be ok now.
Now I'm waiting to see if my Time Machine is going to re-download all my iTunes to my Time Capsule instead of just the changes. Looks like that may be the case, it seems to be "cleaning up"old backups for a while now. I was down to about 31GB free on my TC.
Also, before I called I did try restarting iTunes & restarting my mac but it was the same after that.
I still suspect it may be cause of the last update but can't be sure. -
Flash Player 11 and You Tube screen size problems
When on "You Tube" flash player gives the choice of the use of thre sizes of screens to view the vedios. With the older version of Flash player I was able to use all three od the different size to view. Now That I have Version 11 Flash player the small screen view is good, but If I take it to the medium size the screen stays the same size as the small screen but moves to the center of the screen. The full screen selection gos to black and the sound goes in and out at a fast pace. Is there any way that I can fix this problem? I have tried to reload version 11 of Flash Player, but the problem stays the same.
Hi,
Could you please try to disable hardware acceleration? http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_7__Disable_Fl ash_Player_hardware_acceleration

Problem with screen size in Premiere Pro CS5?
I'm making a movie in Premiere Pro CS5 and I've ran into a problem with the screen size. The source screen shows my footage in widescreen (16:9) but my project screen is playing the widescreen footage in standard size (4:3) so it is cutting off some of the footage from the screen. I would like to make my entire project standard size so how do I do that? (Most of the chopped off footage was adjusted in After Effects so does that have anything to do with it?)
Thanks for any help you can give! The properties of the footage are:
872 x 486
00;00;25;00, 29.97 fps
48000 Hz - 32-bit Float - Stereo
The properties of the sequence are:

Frame Size: 720 horizontal 480 vertical 4:3
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC (0.9091)

Sample Rate: 48000 Hz
Display Format: Audio Samples

I'm also quite a beginner at Premiere Pro and basically all the Adobe programs, so are there any good websites (preferably free) that give good help and information for beginners like me?

Thunderbolt and Hdmi Dual Screen MACMINI problem
Hi there,
I have two screens, one connected via HDMI, and another via Thunderbolt, which goes into thru UA APOLLO audio interface's 2nd thunderbolt output, when my Mac Mini starts up it is fine, for around 5 minutes, but then the thunderbolt display always goes blank, the machine still recognises its there as I can still drag things out of my HDMI screen to where the Thunderbolt screen should be, I have tried new cables, cleaning sockets with antistatic cleaners, the thunderbolt screen works fine with out the hdmi screen being connected and vice versa, any help would be greatly appreciated.
(I'm running the latest mac mini, with mavericks up to date)
thanks in advance
JackArchimaredes wrote:I don't have much experience with this, so forgive me if I'm wrong, but should that not be 1080, instead of 180?
Thank you, but "180" actually means that the upper border of the 2nd display starts 180 pixels below that of the 1st one. The number may be a bit misleading, but it is how my displays are physically set up.
olive wrote:If gdm cannot behave properly, you can simply disable the external monitor in xorg.conf
This is a fabulous idea, I hadn't even thought about this! Launching the xrandr command at the start of the GNOME session is really easy with gnome-session-properties.
I tried disabling the 2nd display, but it just ignores the line and starts with GDM flashing like usual. This is my xorg.conf:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "DVI-0"
Option "Primary" "true"
Option "Position" "0 0"
Option "PreferredMode" "1920x1080"
EndSection
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "DVI-1"
Option "Position" "1920 180"
Option "PreferredMode" "1360x768"
Option "Disable" "true"
EndSection
If I could get this to work, this would be a wonderful workaround. -
Problem with image resolution with larger screen size
I was working on Basic Lens Sample (Basic
Lens Sample) for windows phone 8 App. In this the camera by default sets to default highest resolution.
Just had couple of questions on this:
1.) How to change basic settings like resolution,ISO etc.,in this app, because during initial settings
it only takes default value and when I try to change that it throws an error. Also a code comment is written during initialization of camera to take only these default values. So when to change these settings and how?.
2.) How to adjust resolution for phablets having 6" screen. Like when I run the code in Lumia 1320,
the image resolution is not that good and it breaks. So how to adjust screen resolutions for catering different smartphones with different resolutions and screen sizes.
Any solution or suggestions or snippets is very much appreciated.
Thanks In Advance.Hello,
For you first question, we can use
GetAvailableCaptureResolutions method of PhotoCaptureDevice to get the available resolutions in device. That code sample returns the largest resolution by default, you just need to choose an appropriate one. You can find it in CameraController class in
Models folder in the project.
For you second question, I tested the sample in lumia 1320, I didn’t see the image broken.
>> So how to adjust screen resolutions for catering different smartphones with different resolutions and screen sizes.
You can get an appropriate resolution image and let the OS downscale it for you. You can find the support resolution in the following link. Go to Supported resolutions section.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/jj206974(v=vs.105).aspx.
If you want to display the whole large resolution image in lower resolution device, I think you can use
ScrollViewer control. Use Application.Current.Host.Content.ActualWidth and ActualHeight properties to get the device resolutions, and then you can know if your app is running on a lower resolution device.

I bought a new HP Pavilion dv6-6005sa 15.6" Laptop - Linen White on 14/06/11 from Currys digital, Arndale Centre, Manchester. The laptop is less than 1 week old.
The screen is a frost blue colour from the second I turn it on to the second it is turned off. Weirdly I can see the entire screen, just that everything is blue!! Does anybody know how this can happen??? When I move the screen it flickers from normal to this blue thing. A loose connection maybe?
I am unhappy as I got to send it back to the shop for a under 21 days replacement involving an expensive airmail delivery :@ The alternative would be a 3 week investigation in the lab which I cant be bothered with!
Has anybody else experienced this phenomenon with a HP laptop screen? I also am beginning to experience memory problems and the usb prots are on the blink. I have looked after it very well, it has just been sat on a desk for 5 days! Can anybody explain me this phenomenon and if it is a comon problem with HP laptops?
Now for the next problem as if a faulty screen and memory cache wouldnt be enough! The battery:
The battery specs are as follows:
Lithium-Ion 6-cell battery
'upto 7.5 hours battery life'
The battery is advertised to perform 'upto 7.5 hours' however I get maximum 4.5 hours doing absolutely nothing on power saver mode with the laptop with it just sitting there idle on a desk. At the same time I also had wireless and bluetooth off; screen brightness set to 0%, maximum processing chip power reduced to 20%; battery saver mode active; all major applications closed).
I get maximum 2-3 hours doing basic tasks with it such as word processing. Gaming I get maximum 1.5 hours.
The battery checker displays the following:
Status: Ok (0)
warrenty type: 1 year
cycle count 0
manufacturer: 13-42
battery age 136 days
serial number: 12587 02/01/2011

Cell Voltage 2: 4177 mV
Cell Voltage 3: 4177 mV

I have highlighted in bold the things I thing are suspicious. I feel the results are those of a malfunctioning battery. Could anybody tell me if I am correct withmy assumptions?
As I am no expert coes anybody reading this think these results are normal for a new battery and can you provide me some insight to wether my battery might be faulty or not?
Basically I think at least one of the 6 cells inside the battery are malfunctioning.

If my replacement unit works how it is designed too it will be a beasty machine! I just hope my mate who is taking it back to the shop for me checks it properly before sending it me back!
JoeGo to Power Options in the Control panel and select the Power Saver option. Do not choose balanced. Then run your battery capacity tests again. Hopefully the new setting will improve the time that you get.

FIOS TV/internet/phone installed yesterday and I already have a problem with TV displays. Two HD sets display all HD channels smaller than screen size - black bars on all four sides. Aspect ratio is displayed correctly. STB is CHS 335HDC. The STB is set to 1080i resolution and I have also tried Native and 780p. One TV is 1080p and the other is 720p.
I have rebooted the STB's and no change. On both TV's, I have tried expanding the image to fill the screen but the result looks awful - distorted and certainly not HD. A third TV is displaying HD correctly using a CHS 435HDC. Of course, all the TV's worked just fine with Comcast. Any suggestions?Problem solved - replace the coax with either a component video or HDMI cable. Either one solves the problem but HDMI provides a better image.

Screen size on YouView menu.
Hi Guys,
Im wondering if anyone can help. I have the BT YouView Plus box (details at the bottom of this message). When I first got it, this problem was here. Then after a few weeks "something" happened, and it was fixed, then after a reset to factory, its gone screwey again!
The issue I have, is that when you access the YouView Menu (single press of the blue button), all of a sudden the screen size has changed. Its like you have zoomed in by about 10% into the centre of the screen. You cant see what the Red or Blue buttons do, as you can only see part of a word, or the blue button icon in the corner, but you cant see the words that follow. Likewise, when you access the likes of the On Demand Players, you can see perfectly the players in the middle, but anything on the outside looks as if it stretches onto the other screen.
Same for the guide, and the MyView pages...
I dont know what "something" happened that fixed it before, but I would prefer to have it fixed again.
The aspect ratio of the TV is fine, as it works for all other devices on HDMI, I can swap the cable back to another device and have a clear and decent sized image as expected, but then all of a sudden, plug in youview and just the menu's are out of the standard size.
Anyone any idea's, as I cant find an espect button on youview, the zoom button makes no odds, it just allows me to pick an area of the screen to zoom into, and it then just goes back to where it was...
ThanksSome TVs have separate aspect ratio/screen size settings for each input, so just because it's set correctly for all the other inputs doesn't necessarily mean it's set correctly on the Youview input. I had this problem when I first set Youview up a few days ago, then I twigged it and corrected it (while the Youview input was selected). That's worth a try, anyway.

I use iwires to connect macbook to lg tv to watch netflix. How do you increase screen size on rv.I have tried display settings ,but not working
I would guess that the HDMI port on your mac is for output only - no input, and that's what your'e attempting to do when you attach the mac to your xbox. I looked in Mactracker and it lists the HDMI port as video output for both the 13" Retina MacBook Pro and the 15" Retina MacBook Pro (your post didn't say which one you have), so looks like that is the issue..
