7921 phone locating network services

Phone is displaying locating network services, ap's are not seeing devices using leap along with passwords and username.

If it always displays "location network services", then more than likely there is a configuration issue either on the phone or ap side. Ensure that the ssid matches (case sensitive) and the authentication type matches. Ensure there is not a space at the end of the ssid when you entered it into the 7921G. Can use LEAP or AKM security mode on the 7921G, which will sue LEAP for 802.1x.
Ensure you are using firmware version 1.2(1) on the 7921G.

  • 7921s are "locating network services"

We recently deployed 130 7921s company-wide. About 10-15 of these 7921s get stuck at "locating network services". We've reset to factory settings and manually reconfigured, same end result.
We've discovered after trying several different batteries, device will eventually auto-register.
Also, the battery that doesn't work on the 10-15 7921s, work fine on other functional 7921s.
It's like certain 7921 batteries don't work on certain 7921s. Is there any known issue of this sort?
Should we just RMA these units for a warranty replacement?

The odd thing about the 7921 issue is device will register and appear to look and work fine, then revert to locating network services, then repeats cycle. Seems like after sitting idle (on or off the charger)or like after phone warms up, it reverts to locating network services. At that time there is no radio signal and CCM shows device as not registered.
Have reset devices to factory default setting and reconfigured, but same end result.
We have about 15 7921's with this issue and do not use them since they're not fully functional.
    We use standard batteries.

  • Location network services for 7921

    Dear Friends,
I do have 7921[CP-7921-E-K9] ,which needs to connect to 1252 AP [1252LAP-E-K9] .controllers used is WiSM [5.0]
Initially country code configured was AE and later was added US .
When I try to connect to the AP , it displays on the phone , locating network services and after that configuration failed. The ssid i created is just open .
Did I miss anything ? Please advise.
    Regards,
    SID

    Hi Gamccall,
    Thanks for the response .
Apparently I have checked by connecting laptop with this particular SSID to be connected to the wireless ip phone.
Also I have connected the same vlan to the ip phone and it works .
The SSID is created is so simple . It is open and not broadcasted .
Setting are made by typing SSID as it is , followed by Security Mode which is open , 802.11 which is confusing and I have selected Auto -RSSI to automate the channels and finally single access point which is disabled and power mode which is none.
When I switch on the phone, I get locating network services and followed by connection failed .
Regulatory domains selected is AE and US and channels selected are 1,6,11,13 .
Is there anything I missed ? Please advise .

  • 7921 stuck at Locating Network Services

Trying to set up a new 7921 phone with a Cisco AP (1131). I have a laptop that can see the SSID and connect with no issues. The 7921 just keeps cycling the same message "Locating Network Services".
I took the phone and sat it top of the AP and still nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From your config, you are doing Open + WEP, so set the phone to that, enter the 26 digit Hex WEP key for key 1 and set the ssid to WR-VOICE. Ensure there is no space at the end.
If you enter site survey mode, you should be able to see the AP as long as the SSID is correctly input.
Then just have to worry about the authentication piece.
Ensure the phone has 1.3(2) loaded.
Should order a -A phone if in the Americas, but if you have a -W phone, then you need to enable world mode (802.11d) on the AP.
You would enter a command like the following:
    interface dot11radio 1
    world-mode dot11d country US both
See the 7921G Deploiyment Guide for other country codes if necessary.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the post.
I fully understand the inconvenience the issue has been caused and the current situation can be frustrating. Please try the following steps for troubleshooting.
    1.    Please start the computer in Safe Mode with Network and check the result. If the issue disappears, please perform a clean boot.
For the detailed steps, please refer to the step 1 and 2 in the KB article 936214 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936214).
    2.    If the issue persists, please check the system file by using the command SFC /scannow.
For more information, please refer to the KB article 929833 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833).
If the above suggestions do not resolve the issue that service fails to start up, please understand that debug and dump analysis may be required for further troubleshooting. Also, in most cases, it is necessary to check the source codes. However, debugging is out of our forum’s support boundary. A support call to our product service team is needed for the debugging service. In this case, I’d like to suggest contacting Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) for assistance so that this issue can be resolved efficiently.

  • ISE Could not locate Network Device or AAA Client

When authenticating using 802.1x and MAB, I recieve an authentication failure with the error 11007(Could not locate Network Device or AAA Client). The root cause that ISE spits back at me is "Could not find the network device or the AAA Client while accessing NAS by IP during authentication." I did pretty much everything by the book except instead of using a loopback interface I used a vlan with a defined ip address.  Could this be causing the problem?
Here is the config of the port that I'm testing on:
    interface GigabitEthernet1/0/9
     switchport access vlan 9
     switchport mode access
     switchport voice vlan 8

     service-policy input AUTOQOS-SRND4-CISCOPHONE-POLICY
    end

I can ping both the vlan and the endpoint from the ISE.  As far as allowing ISE to speak snmp and RADIUS to the NAD, I have enabled it on the NAD config inside the ISE. I have also double checked the snmp and radius shared passwords.
I have gotten MAB authentication to work but I am still getting the same error for dot1x authentication. Here are some of the configs on the switch.

  • Using imei no find the phone location?

using imei no how can i find the phone location?

I'm afraid it's not possible. In order for a lost iPhone to be located you have to have set 'Find My iPhone' up on it before losing it, and it has to be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network (how else could it transmit its location) - if any of these conditions is not true then locating it is not possible. You can't use the serial number or IMEI number to locate a phone: the former is only useful to identify it as yours if it turns up, and the latter can be used by most service providers to block it, rendering it useless and preventing anyone from spending your credit.

  • Cisco 7921: loose the network

    Hi everybody,
I'm a french cisco solutions user since three month and I've got problem with one IP phone (cisco 7921). I can't find informatrion in France relative to my problem so I leave a message in this forum.
I explain: One of my 7921 phones disconnect ten time an hour and during conversations. Sometimes, people who call on this phone are redirected to the answer message.
This phone is connected through WIFI network and Cisco Callmanager 4.2 manage all phones (we have about 80 phones on the network). I thought it was a problem with the phone but I exchange with another one and it's exactely the same problem. The problem is just for a line in particular.
All the 7921g phones in my company are configured from mac address in the call manager.
This problem occured after a storm but I'm not really sure that it's related to...
have you ever encountered this problem ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Stephane Hardy

I have seen this behavior - and related symptoms - if the WLAN is has a coverage hole or other misconfiguration. The only answer I can really provide for such a general/broad problem report is to refer you to the Voice over Wireless LAN Design Guide. VoWiFi is extremely touchy and requires a carefully engineered wireless network for reliable performance. You may want to consider moving this thread into the wireless area of the forum if you need more specific wireless troubleshooting assistance.
One easy way you can watch for this is to set the Out-of-Range Alert on the Device Configuration of your 7921 within CUCM. The phone will beep whenever it looses contact with the AP. This isn't an end-to-end test, all it can do is draw attention to a lose of contact with the AP.

  • 6275i Network Service Area

I have a Nokia 6275 phone and the service provider is Reliance (CDMA) in India. With my previous older NOKIA (6255) phone I could go to Settings-Network Services- Service Area Network to check the Service Area. With 6275 it does not have this in the menu. When I travel i need to check the network service area to find out where I have reached. This cannot be seen with this phone. Although at times it shows the network service area on its own, but there is no way I can go and view it once it flashes off from the screen. Is there a code or something I can use to check the service area network information. I really need this facility which was a great help & available in my older Nokia 6255 phone. PLEASE HELP ME.

Ok. I think I found the answer. I am posing it here for the future readers of this thread.
The GUI of the "HCK Studio" is not very clear.
Apparently, in the "selection" tab, there are some small label that can be pressed. One of them is "software device". While pressing it, you can see all the SYS files and select the right one.
I just hope this is really the way to do it.

  • Track Time Reporting using Att/Abs code 1000 without network/service Order

    Hello Everyone,
When I run the tcode CADO, it always shows time reported with Att/Abs code 1000 wherever the time is reported against some service order/network number.
I am specifically interested in those cases where the time is reported against Att/Abs code 1000 but NO service order/network/internal order is mentioned.  Some employees have wrongly reported time using Att/Abs code 1000 without network/service order, as they think that the description "Productive hours" for code 1000 means that this hours will "automatically" get charged to some network/service order.  We want a report to locate these kind of hours.
We Want to track these hours Reported.

    Hi Avisek,
First of all i Like to thank for your reply.
As per your answer i have tried for CADO but i dont find any solution it gives hour booked with service order or network No.
than i have tried CATS_DA for any cost center. This transaction gives me report of all the hour booked against this particular cost center.
But one more problem arise in this transaction that this report shows hour booked against different cost center also. where as i have given only one cost center.
can you help me in this case.

  • 7921 phone prefers the G band over A- why?

We are using 7921 phones over our wireless network with A, B and G APs. The phone is set to Auto-A and the APs are broadcasting the SSID over A and G bands. We are seeing the phones pick the G band 90% of the time. We restricted the SSID to the A radios and the phones worked just fine, but this goes against the philosophy of use A and fail over to G. The phones are using WPA, CCKM (TKIP) and have firmware v.1.3.2 (the 1.3.3 firmware had issues authenticating against RADIUS, but 1.3.2 works). Any ideas?

There was a change in the 1.3(2) release in order to pass WPA/WPA2 enterprise certification, which was to change the auth type from 128 (network-eap) to 0 (open) where EAP is optional.
If you are using the Cisco WLAN Controller, it supports both types by default.
If you are using the Cisco autonomous access points, then need to ensure that you have both methods enabled to cover all firmware versions.
    See the 1.3(2) release notes.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7925g/firmware/1_3_2/english/release/notes/792x_132.html#wp223099
There is nothing in 1.3(3) that I can think of that would impact authentication.
As far as roaming back to 5 GHz even though the voice ssid is still present on 2.4 GHz after failing over to 2.4 GHz when configured for Auto-a, we are planning to make some enhancements in this area for the 1.3(4) release, where it will scan both bands when in an auto mode and ensure it is on the preferred band when available.

  • HT1338 after i created an apple id my phone has no service connection

After I created an apple id, my phone has no service connection

    Hey Nana Flakes,
It sounds like your phone currently displays No Service or Searching in an area of good coverage. I would run through these troubleshooting steps:
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Remove the SIM card and verify that it is a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it is not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About while connected to a Wi-Fi network. If an update is available, a prompt should appear soon. If Wi-Fi is not available, connect your device to iTunes.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
    Restore the iPhone.
