I will upgrade the cucm and unity connection to 9.1.1
Please advise what are the steps to upgrade the presence to 9.1.1?
Best Reagrds,
HaythamHi Haytham,
Supported Upgrade Paths from IM Installation Instructions
and Presence Service.
Upgrades from Release 8.0(1) through 8.6(1) to Release 9.1(1) require
a Refresh Upgrade using the ciscocm.cup.refresh_upgrade_v1.01.cop.sgn
file.
Upgrades from Release 8.6(2) and 8.6(3) to Release 9.1(1) require a
Refresh Upgrade only.
Upgrades from Release 8.6(4), 8.6(5), and Release 9.0(1) to Release
9.1(1) require a Standard Upgrade only.
For more information about Refresh Upgrades and Standard
Upgrades, see the Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified

Upgrade from Cisco.com
Cisco does not support downloading major IM and Presence Service software releases from Cisco.com, for
example, IM and Presence Service Release 9.0(1). You can download upgrade-only software images from
Cisco.com that are used to upgrade from a previous major software release to a subsequent software maintenance
release or point release of IM and Presence. For example, you can download Cisco Unified Presence Release
8.0(2) or Cisco Unified Presence Release 8.6(1) from Cisco.com.
To download this software, go to http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/Redirect.x?mdfid=278875240.

Cisco Unified Presence and Cisco CCX Integration.
Hi,
Please suggest how to integrate Cisco Unified Presence with Cisco UCCX. What are the configuration are to be done on Cisco Unified Presence and CCX.
Any good documents..
Appreciate your response.
Regards,
Manish.Hi,
The easiest thing to do is get CUPC working with the agent's credentials. Once that is working, you know that the CUPS piece is right. The document supplied previously shows the very limited CAD configuration that is required. This should go fine once you get CUPC working with the agent's information.
Keep in mind that CUPC is not the same as CAD and there are important differences:
1. You need to add an Inbound ACL to the CUPS server to allow connections from the CAD PCs as CAD does not support Message Digest as CUPC does. This is CSCtb50109.
2. CAD does not escape special characters in the password, so use a password without special characters. This is

Ccx 7.x and Unified Presence
When these two applications exist within the enterprise telephony environment are they distinctly seperate or are they integrated womewhat?
Just want to understand if there is integration betweeen the applications or do they stand alone.
Thanks,
Paul.Hi Paul,
UCCX CAD client is the software used by the Contact Center Agents.
CUPC is the client used with CUPS server.
These two client applications are different from one another.
You can integrate UCCX with CUPS server, for Agents (CAD) and Supervisors (CSD) for contacting the SME (Subject matter Experts) who will be using the CUPC clients.
Please refer the section "Configuring the Cisco Unified Presence Cluster" from page 169 onwards in the below link,
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/user/guide/cda66ug-cm.pdf
Also refer the below UCCX comp matrix for the UCCX and CUPS compatiability,

Hope it helps.

Hi, first at all i want to say that this is the first time that i have to troubleshoot a cisco unified presence error,
ok, there is a customer experiencing problems with his cisco unified personal communicators, none of the appear registered on the call manager
I tried restarting the services in the unified presence server and no result.
I used rtmt and i found out that last night Sync Agent App stopped
: Jul 20 06:31:10.982 UTC : %CCM_SERVICEMANAGER-GENERIC-6-ServiceStopped: Service stopped. Service Name:Cisco UP Sync Agent App ID:Cisco Service Manager Cluster ID: Node ID:CUP-SKARA
and after that is trying to log in somewhere with no result
: failed dev=ttyS0, pid=18620, login time out
I belive that is trying to log in with and active directory.
where can i found where is trying to log in, or where is asking me for a unser or password to log in?
thanks in advance.
CesarSyncAgent needs to be running to synchronize user information from CUCM.
User ID and password would be the CUCM username and password. You may test it with "User Options" page.

WFA 2.1+ CM Snapshot support with Unified Manager 6.0+
Hi All,
If you've come here, you may have noticed that WFA 2.1 appears to lack support of Snapshots in cDOT, and the Snapshot database view within OnCommand Unified Manager 6.0 and above is empty.
This pack intends to fill that gap by providing a separate collector that uses the same list of clusters as the Unified Manager database collector, but goes directly to the cluster to gather Snapshot information. In future it may gather other information not available within a Unified Manager view.
Updates included in v4:
Includes Cluster and Vserver Peer information collections, dictionary, commands and filters.
You can also connect directly to the cluster, no Unified Manager required!
To connect directly to a cluster, specify a comma separated list of clusters to connect to, using their 'primary_address' as registered in OnCommand Unified Manager to ensure filters match the cluster.primary_address field.
Here is an overview of the components in the attached.
Schema: cm_storage_augment
Dictionary:
Snapshot Represents a Volume Snapshot
Vserver_Peer Represents a Vserver Peer relationship
Cluster_Peer Represents a Cluster Peer relationship
Commands:
Create Volume Snapshot Creates a Volume Snapshot
Remove Volume Snapshot Removes a Volume Snapshot
Create Storage Virtual Machine Peer with reservations
Creates a Vserver peer including cm_storage_augment reservations
Create cluster peer with reservations
Creates a Cluster peer including cm_storage_augment reservations
Note: These commands do not depend on the cm_storage_augment schema and may be used independently if needed.
DataSource:
CM Storage Augment_6.0 Collects Snapshot information from OnCommand Unified Manager 6.0 and above (via direct cluster connection)
Filter:
Snapshots by Volume Returns a list of Snapshots for the specified volume
Snapshots by Volume Regex Returns a list of Snapshots matching a regex for the volume (ie. ^hourly)
Clusters with Available Peer Relationships (includes self)
Returns a list of clusters that have an existing cluster peer, suitable for use in determining where Vserver Peering is possible.
Filter Aggregates available through Cluster Peers
Returns a list of aggregates available on clusters that are peered
Filter Aggregates available through Vserver Peers
Returns a list of aggregates available on clusters and vservers that are peered matching a regex. Useful in determining if a similar named Vserver exists on the destination.
Workflow-Example: Create Snapshot
Creates a Snapshot of the selected Volume.
Workflow-Example: Remove Snapshot
Removes a Snapshot of the selected Volume.
Installation Steps:
Import the DAR file (attached)
On the Credentials tab, ensure each cluster that is configured in OnCommand Unified Manager is listed and has correct credentials.
Select the Data Sources tab. Create a new Data Source of type "CM Storage Augment - 6.0"
Enter details of the OnCommand Unified Manager server and user account
(User credentials must be normal users and NOT database users)
Ensure you select "cm_storage_augment" and "Reset Schema" to create database tables.
Note: Reservations have now been included! Snapshot timestamp is set to 'now' so may adjust once a collection cycle has completed.
Release v3 include Congruence Tests and Reservation Strings to complete the reservations information. It is also marked as PS Certified to indicate reservations are present.
If using v2, ensure you update or reservations will not behave as expected.
If upgrading to v4, ensure you select "Reset Schema" to allow the new Vserver and Cluster Peer tables to be created before the next collection.
Please report any feedback to [email protected], thanks!
Enjoy!
- Michael Goddard.Hello, I had no issue importing the dar file but am having one getting the cluster setup as the data source. Cisco Unified Presence 8.5 High Availability problem
As we have two Cisco presence version 8.5 node as subcluster and configure as High Availability in a Subcluster . Once i click enable HA on the
presence server . its give the below messages as meniton
Primary server :
node state : Running in backup mode
node reason : peer down during initialization
Seconary server :
node state : unknown
node reason : High Availability not enabled.
Even All the service are up and running.
So please advice hightly appreciate for you response.Hi,
Are both the CUP servers in different subnets/networks? If yes, then there is a setting under cluster topology page that has to be modified. It must be in Settings under cluster topology page. The default parameter will be 'MDNS'. This has to be changed to 'Router to Router' if the servers are in different subnets.

Dear All
i have question regarding im in cisco unified personal communicator i have confused case ,,, i have no ldp integration just added some users on call manager and when i login with cupc , must i add contacts manually and i cannt see status of users and also IM is not active i dont know why any one could reply about this problem , i have CCM7 and CUPS 7
everything wokrs fine Desktop and softfone just i need IM
i made IM service point to CUPS from CCM and subscribe all users phones but also when adding any users just tell me must be duplicate or not valid or maximum number exceeds i dont know why although no any contacts added to the list ????
and how CUPC IM works ??JM table is the one that will have all the IM message (compliance) and Persistent Chat Room messages (if configured). If that table is not populated, there are configuration issue in PostGre.
Duplicate entries are due to one message going out from IM&P Server and another one coming in. This is ok and normal. You can try un-checking the checkbox for "Enable Outbound Message Logging" IM&P Server compliance settings - if it makes any difference -
Cisco Unified Presence IM compliance database - duplicate entries
I recently setup PostgreSQL for the IM compliance feature. I noticed in the "JM" table, where all IM messages are stored, there are some duplicate/double entries. Is this normal or am I missing some settings/configuration?

Guys!
I am experiencing a problem with a CUPS cluster (2 servers). It seems that one of the serveres is not properly working. Please help me troubleshoot the issue. Restarting the servers does not help. I have switched off one of them. The rest of the people are now on just one server. The issue is that not all clients have migrated to the server that is up. Please help me troubleshoot the error.

Config more than one Domain SIP on Presence Server
Hello,
We are doing integration between CUPS and LYNC. we have a client that have many domains example:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
so, in service parameters I configure the domain grupocopisa.com for the sip proxy. Also configure de network domain with grupocopisa.com
I "THINK" I need to conf more than one domainsip proxy because the sip invites from is well treated. no?

[email protected]Hello,
I read and see that this integration manual not aplied for my project. We are not remplacing the LYNC with jaber. We are integration the CUPS and LYNC but using only the LYNC client. This manual is for remplacing the lync client for jabber client, and doing step by step mainteing the presence feature between jabber and lync during the migration of remote head quarters. please correct me if im wrong.

Partitioned Intradomain Federation
More and more enterprises are choosing Cisco Unified Presence as their IM and Availability platform. These enterprises already have Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) or Microsoft Live Communications Server (LCS) deployed and want to move their users from Microsoft Office Communicator to a Cisco Unified Presence supported client. During the transition, it is important that these users who migrate to a Cisco Unified Presence supported client can continue to share presence information and instant messages with those users who are still using Microsoft Office Communicator. For more information about supported Cisco Unified Presence clients, see Software Requirements.
Partitioned Intradomain Federation enables Cisco Unified Presence client users and Microsoft Office Communicator users within the same enterprise domain to exchange presence Availability and IM.
This integration supports users within an enterprise domain who are either configured on Cisco Unified Presence and use a Cisco Unified Presence supported client as their desktop client, or are enabled on OCS or LCS and use Microsoft Office Communicator as their desktop client. -
Unified Messaging Exchange 2010 with Jabber
Is anyone aware of a way to have Jabber integrate with Exchange 2010 for voice-mail?
I have CUCM trunked to the server, the calls are going to the server and you can leave a voice mail and phone MWI lights up.
I have the voice-mail icon on the jabber client and when I press it, it goes to the voice mail box.
The issue is that it says its not connected, and when people leave a voice-mail, Jabber does not indicate you have a message.
We are running CUCM 9.1, CUPS 9.1, Jabber4W 9.7
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
PhilJabber for windows 9.7; only supports VMREST voicemail access. The only option for this is unity connection 8.5 and above. Connection to Exchange 2010 form of unified messaging (voicemail service through exchange server alone) is not supported.

Integrating UCCX with Presence - Unable to Add Users to Contacts List
Hi,
I'm trying to integrate UCCX with Presence via the Desktop Administrator. I have created an enduser (LDAP Sync) and assigned the user a Service Profile which includes the Directory UC Service for LDAP, have tried both LDAP and GC configuration.
I can make the connection the Presence Cluster, validation works. However I'm hitting the "CDAUI2067 Search did not complete successfully, and only partial results are displayed. Contact technical support." When trying to add users to the Contact List. Seems like the BUG ID CSCtg94342? However there is no reference to this bug id for UCCX 10.0 only 7.1
Has anyone successfully integrated UCCX 10 with IMP10? If so, please advise the UC Service/Profile configuration for the End User.
Thanks
BenHi Ben,
when configured Client type CAD, I didn't uncheck Version Check Required.
Now I can complete configuration in Cisco Desktop Administration, but when I try to login with CAD client I cannot login to the Presence server - the following message appears:
"An error has occurred communicating with the Cisco Unified Presence Service.
The application will automatically continue attempting to connect."
In log file I found the following "2014-12-05 09:24:23:450 ERROR STD2001 Client <SawConnectionManager> failed to connect to any service." instead of eg. "INFO STD2004 Client <SawConnectionManager> connected to service at <cup1.dcloud.cisco.com>."
Does anybody have any idea what could be the problem?
Thanks,
Milan
