7942s randomly lose connection to CUCM Thru VPN Tunnel

One of my remote branches has 7 7942s plugged into a 2960 POE and then to a 2901.  The computer are connected to the telephone tandum.
1.All the phones dont drop at the same time (maybe 2 or 3 together)
2.The VPN Tunnel never drops when the phones lose the CUCM.(Computers are still online and able to see the network on other side of tunnel)
3.The computer that is connected to the dropped phone does not lose connectivity to the inside network or thru the vpn tunnel (whether in fallback mode or connected or in transit)
4. when a couple of phones are down, I can reach both CUCMs. (Publisher and Subscriber)
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Earl,
Try to do wire shark and see if you can capture anything.
Its looks like keep live message dropping some where before they reaching phones. Is there high utilization on site?
Check if any firewall filtering packets.
Phone reboots itself and tries to register again. Check interface if there is any watchdog timers error.
Please do rate if the given information helps
Thanks

Try setting the flag trc:lo:25 on the partition where the DBSession gets
disconnected. It should tell you the reason what is error that is
    bringing down the DBSession.

We have two applications deployed to our production environment(3.0.G.2).
We have three HP's with Unix 10.20. Server 1 is our database server.
Server2 supports all of Application1 and Server3 supports all of
Application2. Our database is Oracle 7.3.3.4. We are finding that during
the course of a normal day, our users will receive the following error:
"The DBSession that you are using is no longer connected to a
    database..."
Our database connections are replicated. It will occur in only some of our
replicates. I then go through the application and force a reconnect on all
of the database connections and the users can continue on with their
processing. This happens randomly during the day at different times, with
different applications, on different servers. I have talked to Forte
support and they suggested some trace flags (trc:db:6:6, trc:db:11:11 and
trc:db:13:13). None of the flags have produced any helpful information.
When you look at it from the Forte side, it thinks that it still has a
valid DB connection. When you look at it from the Oracle side, Oracle
thinks that it still has a valid connection. Somewhere our connections are
getting "stepped on". We have looked at SQLNet and nothing shows up in
the logs. Where else should I look? What else could be causing the
problem? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • 15" MacBook Pro randomly loses connection to my AirPort Express wi-fi network.

My 15" MacBook Pro randomly loses connection to my AirPort Express wi-fi network. I have to switch off wi-fi on my Mac then switch on again to reconnect. Any reason why this random occurrence keeps happening which never happened before? Any solutions and fixes would also be welcomed.

In the airport utility, you can alter the radio modes... and change the channels from automatic to a manual one.
Hold down the Option key, and  click on your wifi icon, it will tell you what channels are currently being used on your OSX.

  • Ping IP addresses thru VPN Tunnel

Is it possible to ping an address thru a VPN tunnel?  I have a Panasonic system with IP phones located at the far end of a tunnel  I cannot ping them or ping a computer at the far end uning the private address.

Did you check any firewalls that might be hindering your connection both in your network and the remote network? I saw a link that has worked with a gateway topology for Quick VPN. Try to look go to this link:
    http://forums.linksysbycisco.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Wireless_Routers&message.id=97196&qu...
If that still didn’t work, please elaborate the network topology of your network and remote network to further understand the cause of the problem.

  • Windows 7 Pro randomly loses connection to some network drives/shares.

This is a strange one.  I can see where others are having the same issue but I have not found an answer yet so hence this post.
This issue is happening on a Win 7 Pro system.  As far as I know we are not having this issue on any XP systems.
Problem:  I have at least one Windows 7 system that every so often will lose access to network shares on our network.  It does not lose access to all mapped drives or shares just to a couple and one server in particular
    - other shares are still working fine.
I have logged on as another user to test the profile but it has the same issue.  It doesn't matter if I try to access the mapped drive or browse directly to the share.  It will not connect.
Once I reboot the computer, access is restored like it should be.  It will work for a few hours and then go bonkers again.   HELP!!

    Please make the following changes
On the Server whose map drives you don't see
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters
    Value: autodisconnect
    Data type : REG_DWORD
    Value: ffff (Hex)
    On windows 7 client
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters
    Value Name: KeepConn
    Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 65535 (dec value in seconds)

  • Outlook 2013 randomly loses connection to Exchange 2007 server

    Hello everyone,
I have received complaints from some of our users over the past couple of months about them not receiving mails or about sending mails which do not get delivered. A little bit of investigation into the matter showed me that Outlook 2013 had lost its connection
to the Exchange server. (Which is Exchange 2007 SP3 running on Windows Server 2008 / SBS2008, in case it matters.)
Which is bad enough in itself - none of our users running Outlook 2007 and 2010 had that problem - but it also does so in a rather inconspicuous manner, so the users did not notice. Closing and restarting Outlook helped every single time, but the users did
not notice when this happened, and telling them to just restart Outlook every hour or so does not seem like an overloy practical idea.
All of the clients encountering the problem are running Outlook 2013 on Windows 8/8.1 Pro. We do not have any clients running older versions of Outlook on Windows 8, so I cannot tell for sure if this problem originates in the OS or if it is an Outlook problem.
The first couple of times I encountered the problem, it was on laptops, so I suspected some power management issue initially. I made sure Outlook connected to the server via HTTPS, which it already did. Then I did not hear of the problem for about two months,
but recently, two of our users have run into the problem again, and while these were still Windows 8.1 machines, running, of course, Outlook 2013, they are plain desktop computers, not laptops, and I already toned down their power management settings, so I
do not think that it has to do with the problem.
Has anybody encountered a similar problem or even - more importantly - a solution? This problem is really frustrating, because our users are very sensitive to problems with their email, and the fact that this problem only occurs randomly and - all in all
    - rather rarely, makes it very hard to track down.
Thank you all very, very much for any insights you might be able to share with me!

    Hi,
Please ensure that Outlook 2013 clients retain their connection with the Exchange server using HTTP:
Have the Outlook 2013 user check the settings under FILE -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> E-mail tab -> Select the account and click Change -> More Settings -> Connection tab -> Exchange Proxy Settings -> Make sure both
"On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP" and "On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP" are selected -> OK.

  • Remote access VPN clients connected to Internet from VPN

    Greetings,
I need to let remote VPN clients to connect to Internet from the same ASA VPN server
" client connects to ASA through VPN tunnel from outside interface then access Internet from the same ASA from outside interface again
    thanks

you'll need to configure 'same-security-traffic permit intra-interface' on the ASA .
Also, need to setup the corresponding nat statements for your clients pool range.
    i.e.
    global (outside) 1 interface
    nat (outside) 1 access-list anyconnectacl
where anyconnectacl is the pool for your clients:
    access-list anyconnectacl permit ip 172.16.1.0 255.255.255.0 any

  • Cisco ASA 5520 Site-to-site VPN TUNNELS disconnection problem

    Hi,
    i recently purchased a Cisco ASA 5520 and running firmware v. 8.4(2) and ASDM v. 6.4(5)106.
I have installed 50 Site-to-Site VPN tunnels, and they work fine.
but randomly the VPN Tunnels keep disconnecting and few seconds after it connects it self automaticly....
it happens when there is no TRAFIC on, i suspect.
in ASDM in Group Policies under DfltGrpPolicy (system default) i have "idle timeout" to "UNLMITED" but still they keep disconnecting and connecting again... i have also verified that all VPN TUNNELS are using this Group Policie. and all VPN tunnels have "Idle Timeout: 0"
this is very annoying as in my case i have customers having a RDP (remote dekstop client) open 24/7 and suddenly it gets disconnected due to no traffic ?
in ASDM under Monitoring -> VPN .. i can see all VPN tunnels recently disconnected in "Login Time Duration"... some 30minutes, 52minutes, 40minutes and some 12 minutes ago.. and so on... they dont DISCONNECT at SAME time.. all randomly..
i dont WANT the VPN TUNNELS to disconnect, i want them to RUN until we manually disconnect them.
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Daniel

  • SSL VPN Tunnel and Windows 7

    Hi
I have a SA520W with firmware 2.1.18 and are having huge trouble getting windows 7 clients to connect using the SSL VPN Tunnel in Split mode. I've tested the registered users using an XP machine, and they are able to log in just fine and I can ping servers on the inside of the network. On windows 7, however, the VPN tunnel is created, but no IP trafic flows over the virtual network adapter and I'm not able to ping resources on the inside of the network. For the XP clients, the SSL VPN tunnel works like a charm, but not not 7.
Are there any consideration to be taken on windows 7 to enable trafic over the SSL VPN virtual network adapter?
    Windows firewall?
    SSL service?

    Hi skcisco11,
You can alternatively use Cisco VPN Client if your SA520 has firmware version 2.1.18 and above. Here is a document how to set it up:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/multi_function_security/multi_function_security_appliance/sa_500/technote/note/SA500_vpnclient_appnote.pdf
Alternatively, please use the following document on how to setup SSL VPN.  If you are using a local database on the SA520 to authenticate users,, then ignore the references to Active Directory.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/multi_function_security/multi_function_security_appliance/sa_500/technote/note/active_directory.pdf
    Hope this helps,

  • Problems when trying to surf the Internet through a SSL VPN tunnel

    Hi,
I have a small/big problem, I have a customer who have the need for the possibility to surf the internet through the SA500W when they are connected through a SSL VPN tunnel in to their network. I am not using a Split Tunnel. What I have seen until now, when you run IPCONFIG/ALL the default gateway for the SSL VPN IP settings is 0.0.0.0. Is this the problem and if so, how can this be solved?
    Thanks in advance!

  • I have an airport extreme with a HP Folio laptop and cannon pixma MX882 printer. when i am VPN'd in thru Cisco vpn and try to print the wireless print connection stops. i Un-VPN and it prints. then i have to go back into VPN to continue?how do i configure

i have an Airport Extreme wireless router, HP Folio laptop (company supplied) and a Canon PIXMA MX882 wireless printer, copier, scanner and fax.
when i am VPN's in thru CISCO VPN to my company Intranet site I cannot print wirelessly. i have to turn off VPN, priint and log back into the company intranet site.  is there a way to configure the router so that it is not blocking the signal?
    Tx

The problem is not the router.. the issue is the vpn has put your computer in a different IP range with a different gateway. When you turn off the vpn the computer returns to local lan and can print.
Some vpn software allows you to set gateway to use local net instead of remote gateway or access to other webistes or local lan.
    Read up the issue.
    http://stevejenkins.com/blog/2010/01/using-the-local-default-gateway-with-a-wind ows-vpn-connection/
    Cisco vpn client..
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/239113
I did not search much.. just grabbed the first article I could find that explains the issue.
The whole point of the vpn is whilst it is connected your computer is NOT part of the Local Lan .. it is part of the Remote LAN via the vpn tunnel.
It is also a security risk using split tunnelling so often it will not be allowed.
Plug the printer directly into the computer via usb or whatever.. Local connection will work.. not local lan.

  • Connect to server thru DNS using VPN

I want to do the following :
    - connect to my server thru VPN (this is working) using VPN server of the OS X Server
    - command -K connecting thru the fileshare on the same server using the dns name of my server. (not working)
when i see the settings of the VPN connection i see my DNS server in the tab DNS. But connection is not established.

Are you typing the hostname of the server in the 'Connect to Server' dialog? or are you hoping to see the remote servers appear in the list when you Browse?
The former should work. The latter will not (at least not without extra significant hoops).
If you are trying the former, and you can't hit the server by name, check whether you can hit it via IP address. Also check whether you can resolve the name via some other means (e.g nslookup or dig in Terminal.app, or Network Utility.app). That will at least help pinpoint the problem.
